AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Plant pots on balconies, terraces, or gardens are prone to tipping over due to wind, and existing solutions either lack stability or are not mobile enough for relocation, such as those permanently attached to the ground or those with unsecured saucers.

Method used

A two-part plant pot system with a rotatable connection between the upper and lower parts, where the lower part is fixed to the ground, providing stability and can be easily detached for relocation, using a bayonet or threaded connection.

Benefits of technology

The system ensures windproof stability while allowing easy relocation, maintaining a secure connection to the ground.

Abstract

Two-part plant pot with tip-over protection, consisting of a lower part in the form of a ground anchoring plate, which has several fastening holes for fixed connection to a surface (e.g. balcony floor, terrace or garden soil), and an upper part in the form of a plant container, characterized by that the plant container can be detachably connected to the base via a locking mechanism arranged on the pot base - in particular in the form of a bayonet or threaded closure, the plant container sits positively on the base when connected and can be unlocked and removed by turning, and the lower part has a drain hole for water drainage.

Description

[0001] Plant pots placed on balconies, terraces, or in the garden are at increased risk of being toppled by wind, especially when planted with large-crowned plants. Conventional plant pots that are permanently attached to the ground (e.g., embedded in concrete) offer stability, but are no longer mobile when needed—for example, for transport to their winter quarters.

[0002] Common plant pot systems with saucers, on which the plant pot is simply placed, lack a secure connection. Such systems are therefore also susceptible to wind and can tip over even in light gusts. Furthermore, the saucer is usually unsecured on the ground, which further compromises stability.

[0003] The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a plant pot system with tip-over protection that enables a firm connection to the ground, but at the same time allows easy separation of the plant pot and ground anchoring - for example, for seasonal relocation of the pot.

[0004] This problem is solved by the features of claim 1.

[0005] The invention provides a two-part plant pot in which the lower part (a ground anchoring plate) is permanently fixed to the ground. The upper part, which constitutes the actual plant container, is connected to the lower part by means of a rotatable connection – preferably a bayonet or threaded connection. This connection ensures a stable, windproof unit and can be easily removed if necessary to relocate the plant pot. Visually, the plant pot is indistinguishable from conventional plant pots with a saucer. Alternative embodiment:

[0006] Instead of the bayonet lock, a threaded lock can also be used, where the upper part is attached by screwing it onto the lower part. For this purpose, the lower part has an external thread and the upper part a corresponding internal thread. This connection also allows for a positive, rotatable locking mechanism that can be easily released if necessary. Claims

[1] Two-part plant pot with tip-over protection, consisting of a lower part in the form of a ground anchoring plate, which has several fastening holes for fixed connection to a surface (e.g. balcony floor, terrace or garden soil), and an upper part in the form of a plant container, characterized by , that the plant container can be detachably connected to the base via a locking mechanism arranged on the pot base - in particular in the form of a bayonet or threaded closure, the plant container sits positively on the base when connected and can be unlocked and removed by turning, and the lower part has a drain hole for water drainage. [2] Plant pot according to claim 1, characterized bythat the locking mechanism is a bayonet lock with at least two opposing locking lugs and corresponding guide slots in the plant container. [3] Plant pot according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the bayonet lock is additionally provided with an elastic locking device which prevents accidental release due to wind or vibration. [4] Plant pot according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the base is made of weatherproof, UV-resistant plastic or corrosion-resistant metal. [5] Plant pot according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the drain hole is centrally located in the lower part and is protected against blockage by a grid or sieve insert. [6] Plant pot according to one of the preceding claims, characterized bythat the upper part has an additional annular seal or fitting surface on its underside which prevents dirt or water from entering the locking mechanism. [7] Plant pot according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the lower part has a recess or groove into which a corresponding web of the upper part snaps into place for centered positioning. [8] Plant pot according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the system is modular so that plant containers of different sizes can be mounted on the same base. [9] Plant pot according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the connection between the upper and lower parts can be removed without tools. [10] Plant pot according to one of the preceding claims, characterized bythat the lower part is also designed as a water reservoir for passive irrigation of the plant container.
