Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to garbage bags having three closed sides and one open side.
[0002] Plastic garbage bags, usually sold on a roll with perforations between the individual bags, are widely used in households and businesses.
[0003] These bags are usually placed in trash cans or racks, where the edge of the bag is pulled over the edge of the trash can or a ring-shaped holder of the device is pulled. This type of use typically occurs in cases where the trash bag will be filled over a certain period of time. For example, if used in the garden for grass clippings or similar purposes, or during construction site cleanup, the trash bags are usually held with one hand and filled with the other hand using a rake, shovel, dustpan, or similar device. This is usually done by a single person.
[0004] Because conventional plastic bags lack structural stability or a self-supporting opening, the bag walls frequently collapse, leaving only a small opening for filling. This makes efficient one-handed filling virtually impossible. If one person cannot hold the garbage bag open with one hand, a second person must be called in, making their use uneconomical in commercial settings.
[0005] Alternatively, improvised means such as rocks, clamps, tape, nails, or toolboxes are often used to secure garbage bags, keep them open, or prevent them from slipping. These tools are unsafe because they pose a risk of injury. Furthermore, setting up an improvised tool is time-consuming, as each bag must be individually adjusted depending on where the waste is generated. Constantly readjusting the garbage bag also results in time loss. Improvised tools for securing bags are not standardized, which slows down the work and causes frustration.
[0006] On construction sites, it is therefore imperative that garbage bags have a stable, self-locking or easily fixable opening, while also allowing easy and safe filling, even with one hand. It is important to note that the garbage bags in use must be mobile and portable.
[0007] In the area of garbage bags, various solutions have been proposed, particularly aimed at improved closure mechanisms, fastening devices or easy handling.
[0008] The object of the present invention is to provide a garbage bag that offers a simple and reliable way to facilitate the use of a garbage bag by a person.
[0009] This problem is solved by a garbage bag, a garbage bag roll, a garbage bag stack having the features of the independent claims.
[0010] Advantageous embodiments are characterized in the subclaims.
[0011] According to the invention, a garbage bag, preferably made of a plastic, having three closed sides and one open side is provided, wherein on the outer sides of two closed sides which border on the open side, adjacent to the open side, at least one loop is arranged, which extends along the edge of the open side in such a way that its through-channel runs parallel to the edge of the garbage bag, wherein the at least one loop extends over at least half the circumference of the open side, and wherein an elastic, elongated element is arranged in the through-channel.
[0012] The garbage bag according to the invention offers the advantage that the elastic, elongated element arranged in the passageway holds the opening of the garbage bag open to the maximum extent. The element is spring-elastic and essentially straight, and bends upon insertion into the passageway, with the element tending to return to its original shape and thus keeping the opening of the garbage bag open.
[0013] The maximum opening is also determined by the length of the passage channel. If this channel extends essentially completely around the opening of the garbage bag, a substantially circular, maximum opening is achieved.
[0014] Preferably, two to six loops with through-channels are provided on the garbage bag so that, on the one hand, the insertion of the element is made easier and, on the other hand, the size and shape of the opening of the garbage bag can be determined by selecting the loops included.
[0015] The elastic, elongated element can be profiled in the direction of its longitudinal extension in order to achieve increased rigidity while still maintaining low weight.
[0016] In addition, the elastic, elongated element may have a curvature to facilitate insertion of the loops by a user.
[0017] The length of the elastic, elongated element is preferably dimensioned such that it substantially corresponds to the circumference of the opening of the garbage bag or even exceeds it.
[0018] According to a preferred embodiment of the elastic, elongated element, it has a band at each end, by means of which, for example, the element can be pulled out of the at least one loop again after the garbage bag has been filled.
[0019] Preferably, a band is arranged parallel to the elastic, elongated element, the ends of which extend beyond the elastic, elongated element. These sections of the band are clamped in a notch at the ends of the elastic, elongated element. The advantage of this design is that the elastic, elongated element can be pulled out of the loops after the garbage bag is filled, leaving the band in place and usable for tying the garbage bag.
[0020] In order to make the insertion of the elastic, elongated element into the at least one loop as easy as possible, the width of the elastic, elongated element is preferably smaller than the diameter of the loops or the through-channel.
[0021] The elastic, elongated element can consist of a resilient metal strip or a polymer, whereby the metal strip can be reused almost indefinitely and the polymer can be easily recycled.
[0022] The garbage bag according to the invention is preferably placed on the market as a garbage bag roll, wherein a plurality of garbage bags are rolled together to form a garbage bag roll.
[0023] Preferably, the individual garbage bags are connected to each other at opposite ends and provided with a perforated connecting line or the plurality of garbage bags can be wound up unconnected.
[0024] At least one elastic, elongated element is arranged on or in the trash bag roll. A single elastic, elongated element is generally sufficient for the user, as it can be reused as required. However, there is, of course, a risk that the elastic, elongated element will be lost, so it is preferable to include at least two elastic, elongated elements in the trash bag roll.
[0025] According to the invention, as an alternative to the roll of garbage bags, a stack of garbage bags is provided, which consists of a plurality of garbage bags which are folded and stacked in an outer packaging, wherein at least one elongate elastic element is added which is arranged separately in the outer packaging.
[0026] In order to be able to use the garbage bag according to the invention in the sense of the invention in the event of loss of the elongated elastic element, elongated elastic elements are also sold individually, and the garbage bags according to the invention can also be offered without the element.
[0027] The garbage bag according to the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the figures. Fig. 1 in a perspective view a garbage bag with elastic element, and Fig. 2 in a side view the elastic element.
[0028] Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a garbage bag 10 with one open side / opening 12, three closed sides 14, a plurality of loops 16, an edge 18 of the open side / opening 12 and an elastic, elongated element 20. The loops 16 run along the upper edge 18 of the open side 12 and serve to receive the elastic, elongated element 20, which serves to hold the open side / opening 12 open in order to easily fill the garbage bag without having to manually hold the open side / opening 12 open.
[0029] Fig. 2 shows the elastic, elongated element 20 in a side view in the non-inserted state. At each of the two ends of the elastic element 20, a band 26 is provided which serves to facilitate the removal of the elastic, elongated element 20 from the loops 16 after the garbage bag 10 has been filled.
[0030] The length of the elastic, elongated element 20 corresponds to the circumference of the open side / opening 12. In addition, the width of the elastic, elongated element 20 is smaller than the diameter of the through-channel 24 of the at least one loop 16, thereby facilitating insertion of the elastic, elongated element 20 into the loops 16.
