Abstract

Rail fastening system (1) for fastening a rail (3) having a rail foot (2) to a base plate (4) having a rail support area (5), at least one clamping device (7) on one side of the rail support area (5) and at least one clamping device (7) on the other side of the rail support area (5) for clamping the rail foot (2) on opposite sides of the base plate (4), at least one sleeper screw (8, 9) adjoining each of the respective clamping devices (7) to the outside for screwing the base plate (4) to the substrate (10) on opposite sides, wherein an opening for the respective sleeper screw (8, 9) is provided in the base plate (4) on opposite sides, characterized in that the openings on opposite sides in the base plate (4) for the sleeper screw (8,9) are designed as elongated holes (11) with a longitudinal extent transverse to the longitudinal direction (L) of the rail.
