Abstract

A cervical orthosis (10) designed to hold the head (3) of an individual at least in the sagittal plane (Exz), wherein the cervical orthosis (10) has a ventral part (11) and a dorsal part (12), which parts are adjustable to each other and can be connected or linked together at least in their predefinable relative positions and can each be supported on the individual; characterized in that the cervical orthosis (10) forms at least by means of the ventral part (11) a rigid receptacle (14) with at least one anatomical negative contour (14a) designed to interact with the zygomatic bone, which is rigid at least with respect to the transverse plane (Exy) such that the cervical orthosis (10) is designed to hold the head (3) of an individual at least also in the transverse plane (Exy).
