Existing door operators, particularly those used in fire doors, face challenges in ensuring reliable fastening while meeting safety requirements, especially in the event of a fire where flammable fluids like hydraulic oils can ignite.
A mounting bracket with a first and second mounting element connected via a connecting arrangement that separates under thermal stress, detaching the door operator from its mounting surface to prevent overheating and potential ignition.
The mounting bracket effectively prevents the door operator from overheating and igniting by detaching it from the mounting surface during a fire, ensuring safety and reliable fastening.
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a mounting bracket for a door operator.
[0002] Door operators are used to close and / or open doors. Door closers and door drives are particularly referred to as door operators. With door closers, a spring mechanism is usually charged by the manual opening movement. The stored energy is used to close the door. With door drives, the door can be opened and / or closed automatically, for example using electromechanics or hydraulics. Door operators are usually attached to the door leaf, frame, or wall. Mounting plates are usually used to attach the door operators. The mounting plate is fastened to its mounting surface, i.e. the door, frame, or wall. The door operator, in turn, is attached to the mounting plate.
[0003] Especially with fire doors, it is important to note that flammable fluids, especially hydraulic oils, are often used in the door actuators. Appropriate measures should be taken to prevent the fluid in the door actuator from overheating and potentially igniting in the event of a fire.
[0004] EP 3 425 150 A1 discloses a door device, in particular a locking device, comprising a housing and a triggering device, wherein the triggering device serves to open the housing at and / or above a triggering temperature. The triggering device comprises a triggering material, the volume of which increases at and / or above the triggering temperature.
[0005] WO 2010 / 144078 A1 discloses a device for preventing a battery fire in an electronic door lock. The battery and a circuit board are arranged in a housing of the electronic door lock.
[0006] Further state of the art is shown in DE 298 80 074 U1, KR 2010 0112513 A, ES 2 320 068 A1 and DE 44 06 938 A1.
[0007] The object of the present invention is to provide a mounting bracket for a door operator which ensures reliable fastening of the door operator and at the same time meets safety-relevant requirements, in particular in the event of a fire.
[0008] The problem is solved by the features of the independent claim. The dependent claims relate to advantageous embodiments of the invention.
[0009] The invention describes a mounting bracket that is used instead of a conventional mounting plate for attaching the door operator. The mounting bracket has a first mounting element and at least one second mounting element. The mounting elements are connected to one another via at least one connecting arrangement. Under appropriate thermal stress, this connecting arrangement releases, so that the two mounting elements separate from one another. This detaches the door operator from the mounting surface, i.e. from the door, frame, or wall. In particular, it is assumed that the door operator is located on the side of the door facing away from the fire. By detaching the door operator from its mounting surface, it is prevented that the door operator becomes excessively hot, thus preventing ignition of the fluid in the door operator.
[0010] A mounting axis is defined on the mounting bracket to describe directions. For example, the mounting axis is parallel to the screws used to attach the mounting bracket to the mounting surface. According to an alternative definition, the mounting axis is perpendicular to the output axis of the door operator. According to another alternative definition, the mounting axis is perpendicular to the mounting surface, i.e., perpendicular to the surface of the door, frame, or wall.
[0011] The mounting bracket comprises, as already described, a first mounting element and at least one second mounting element. According to one exemplary embodiment described here, the two mounting elements are plates or plate-shaped elements that lie against one another to form the mounting bracket. According to a second exemplary embodiment, however, a plurality of second mounting elements, in particular in the form of bushings, are used, which are inserted into the first mounting element. For the sake of clarity, the second mounting element is usually described in the singular, but it is always also disclosed that a plurality of second mounting elements with the corresponding configuration can be used.
[0012] In particular, it is provided that the first mounting element is fastened, in particular screwed, to the mounting surface with its rear surface. This mounting surface is formed by a door, frame, or wall. Accordingly, the second mounting element is connected to the door operator. The second mounting element has, in particular, a front surface to which the door operator is fastened, in particular screwed. Preferably, the second mounting element is a separate component to which the door operator is attached. Alternatively, however, the second mounting element can also be an integral part of the door operator.
[0013] Furthermore, the reverse design is also possible, according to which the first mounting element is designed to receive the door operator and the second mounting element is fastened to the mounting surface.
[0014] The mounting bracket comprises at least one connecting arrangement. In particular, one, two, three, four, or five such connecting arrangements are provided.
[0015] The individual connecting arrangement comprises at least one locking element. The locking element is movably arranged on the first mounting element. In particular, the locking element is arranged to be linearly movable relative to the first mounting element. The first mounting element is designed, in particular, as a plate and accordingly has a plate plane that is perpendicular to the mounting axis. In order to achieve the thinnest possible construction of the mounting bracket, it is provided, in particular, that the locking element moves parallel to the plate plane and thus perpendicular to the mounting axis.
[0016] The connecting arrangement further comprises at least one trigger element. The trigger element can be thermally activated, particularly within a temperature range of 90°C to 200°C. "Activating the trigger element" is synonymous with "triggering the trigger element." For example, the trigger element is a fluid-filled glass ampoule, such as those found in sprinkler systems. The trigger element is designed to trigger at a temperature appropriate to prevent uncontrolled escape of the fluid from the door operator.
[0017] The locking element can be moved from its holding position to a release position. In the basic state, i.e., when the trigger element has not been triggered, the locking element is in its holding position and holds the second mounting element. If multiple second mounting elements, in particular bushings, are provided, one locking element can also hold multiple second mounting elements. In the release position, the locking element releases the second mounting element, allowing the two mounting elements (first and second mounting elements) to separate from each other. This also releases the door operator from the mounting surface, in particular the door, frame, or wall.
[0018] The trigger element is designed to release the locking element into its release position upon thermal activation. In particular, it is intended that the trigger element only releases this movement and does not exert any force on the locking element to move it. After release by the trigger element, the locking element can then be moved into its release position by gravity and / or by a so-called "drive element."
[0019] In an alternative embodiment not according to the invention, however, it is also possible for the trigger element to move the locking element into the release position upon thermal activation. This is possible in particular if the trigger element comprises a thermally intumescent material. This thermally intumescent material expands upon corresponding heating. This expansion of the material can be used to move the locking element in the desired direction. In this embodiment, the locking element is preferably blocked in its holding position by a mechanical blocking element. This mechanical blocking element is releasable, such that it is released when the trigger element moves, in particular presses, the locking element into the release position upon thermal activation. For releasability, the blocking element can in particular be deformable and / or destructible and / or otherwise releasable under tension or pressure.
[0020] However, according to the invention and described below, the variant in which the trigger element merely releases the locking element and the movement of the locking element occurs in another way, in particular under the force of gravity and / or by the drive element.
[0021] According to the invention, the trigger element is arranged, in particular clamped, between the locking element and the first mounting element in order to block movement of the locking element into the release position. For this purpose, it is particularly provided that the trigger element is destructible and / or deformable and / or meltable under thermal stress.
[0022] An example design for the trigger element is the glass ampoule described above. Another example is a meltable alloy or a correspondingly meltable or thermally deformable plastic.
[0023] Preferably, the trigger element is clamped between the first mounting element and the locking element by means of a compensating spring. This compensating spring prevents excessive clamping or accidental destruction of the trigger element.
[0024] Preferably, a screw is provided by means of which the trigger element can be tensioned against the compensating spring.
[0025] The locking element is preferably seated in a recess of the first mounting element. The recess for receiving the locking element is preferably pocket-shaped, at least in sections, and is thus closed on one of the two sides perpendicular to the mounting axis.
[0026] The locking element in its holding position and the second mounting element preferably engage with each other in a form-fitting manner. When the second mounting element is configured as a plate, it is preferably provided that the second mounting element has a plate body from which at least one form-fitting element extends toward the mounting surface. This form-fitting element preferably sits in a corresponding recess in the first mounting elements configured as a plate. In the holding position, the locking element preferably engages with the associated form-fitting element.
[0027] When using multiple second mounting elements, for example, designed as bushings, it is preferably provided that the second mounting elements have a groove on their outer circumference. A fork-shaped section of the locking element can engage in this groove, so that the second mounting element is secured against falling out. Furthermore, the outer circumference in the groove can be non-circular, in particular have a polygon, so that the more fork-shaped section of the locking element also secures the bushing against twisting.
[0028] In a preferred embodiment, the connecting arrangement comprises the aforementioned drive element. This drive element comprises, in particular, a thermally intumescent material and / or a spring. The drive element is designed to move the locking element into the release position. The drive element thus moves the locking element, in particular, in a direction perpendicular to the mounting axis.
[0029] Once the trigger element has been triggered, the locking element is no longer blocked. This allows the drive element, either through thermally intumescent material and / or a spring, to move the locking element into the release position.
[0030] The drive element is preferably located in a recess of the first mounting element and / or in a recess of the second mounting element. In order to use the largest possible drive element, particularly one with thermally intumescent material, it is preferably provided that the two recesses in the two mounting elements are aligned with one another, so that the drive element can be arranged in both mounting elements designed as plates. It is then also preferably provided that the locking element extends into the recess of the second mounting element, so that the drive element can engage the locking element over the largest possible area.
[0031] Furthermore, a release element is preferably provided. The release element can also comprise a thermally intumescent material and / or a spring. The release element is arranged to press the two mounting elements away from each other. Essentially, the release element executes a movement parallel to the mounting axis. The release element can act directly on the two mounting elements and press them apart. However, it is also possible for the release element to rest directly against the mounting surface on the rear side. Likewise, the release element on the front side can rest directly against the door operator. An essential function of the release element is to ensure that the door operator moves away from the mounting surface after the locking element has moved.
[0032] For a compact construction, it is preferably provided that the detachment element is located in a recess of the first mounting element and / or in a recess of the second mounting element.
[0033] Furthermore, it is preferably provided that a thermally intumescent material is used for the release element, which only triggers at a higher temperature than the thermally intumescent material used in the drive element.
[0034] As already described, it is preferably provided that the first mounting element is designed as a plate. In a preferred embodiment, the second mounting element is also designed as a plate. The two plates each have an inner surface that abuts against one another. The first mounting element forms a rear surface that rests against the mounting surface, in particular the door, frame, or wall. The second mounting element forms a front surface to which the door operator is attached.
[0035] As an alternative to designing the second mounting element as a plate, it is preferably provided that a plurality of second mounting elements are provided. These plurality of second mounting elements are preferably each designed as a bushing. The bushings preferably have an internal thread. The door operator can be screwed to the second mounting elements via this internal thread.
[0036] As an alternative to the design as bushings, the second mounting elements could also be designed, for example, as threaded pins that protrude from the first mounting element.
[0037] The mounting bracket, regardless of whether the second mounting element is designed as a plate or not, preferably has a thickness of max. 60 mm, in particular max. 40 mm. This relatively thin design results in an appearance similar to that of a standard mounting plate. The thickness is measured from the rear surface to the front surface. Any positioning projections or other elements onto which the door operator is attached are not taken into account.
[0038] The invention further encompasses an assembly comprising the described mounting bracket and a door operator. The door operator is particularly attached to the second mounting element or to the plurality of second mounting elements. The mounting bracket is preferably attached to a mounting surface, in particular a door, frame, or wall.
[0039] The invention will now be described in more detail using exemplary embodiments. In the following: Fig. 1 shows an arrangement according to the invention with a mounting bracket according to the invention according to a first exemplary embodiment, Fig. 2 shows a rear surface of the mounting bracket according to the invention according to the first exemplary embodiment, Fig. 3 shows an inner surface of the second mounting element of the mounting bracket according to the invention according to the first exemplary embodiment, Fig. 4 shows an inner surface of the first mounting element of the mounting bracket according to the invention according to the first exemplary embodiment, Fig. 5 shows the Fig. 2 marked section AA, Fig. 6 in Fig. 2 marked section BB, Fig. 7 a schematic view of the mounting bracket according to the invention according to the first embodiment when detaching the door operator, Fig. 8 a rear surface of a mounting bracket according to the invention according to a second embodiment, Fig. 9 the in Fig. 8 marked section CC, Fig. 10 a further sectional view of the mounting bracket according to the invention according to the second embodiment, Fig. 11 the in Fig. 8 marked section DD, Fig. 12 a first variant of the second embodiment, Fig. 13 a second variant of the second embodiment.
[0040] In the following, an arrangement 100 and a mounting bracket 1 are described in detail using the figures. Fig. 1 bis 7 show the design according to a first embodiment. Fig. 8 bis 13 show a second embodiment of the mounting bracket 1.
[0041] For the description of the first embodiment, reference is made to the Fig. 1 bis 7 Reference is made. Fig. 1 shows, purely schematically, a mounting surface 101 of the arrangement 100. This mounting surface 101 is formed, for example, by a door, frame, or wall. A mounting axis 2 is defined perpendicular to the mounting surface 101. The mounting bracket 1 is attached to the mounting surface 101. The door operator 102, in turn, is mounted on the mounting bracket 1. The door operator 102, here designed as a door closer, has an output axis 103. The output axis 103 is perpendicular to the mounting axis 2. The mounting axis 2 is perpendicular to the mounting surface 101.
[0042] The mounting bracket 1 comprises a first mounting element 3 and a second mounting element 4. The first mounting element 3 rests with its rear surface 6 against the mounting surface 101. The two inner surfaces 7 of the two mounting elements 3, 4 rest against each other. The front surface 8 of the second mounting element 4 serves to accommodate the door actuator 102.
[0043] Fig. 2 shows the back surface 6 of the mounting bracket 1. Fig. 3 shows the inner surface 7 of the second mounting element 4. Fig. 4 shows the inner surface 7 of the first mounting element 3. Fig. 5 shows the Fig. 2 marked section AA and Fig. 6 the in Fig. 2 marked section BB. Fig. 7 shows a schematic view of the mounting bracket 1 when removing the door operator 102.
[0044] The two mounting elements 3, 4 are each plate-shaped and are perpendicular to the mounting axis 2. The two mounting elements 3, 4 are connected to each other via three connecting arrangements 5.
[0045] The second mounting element 4, for example as shown in Fig. 3 , has a plate body 9. From this plate body 9, several form-locking elements 10 extend in the direction of the first mounting element 3.
[0046] Furthermore, the plate body 9 has a plurality of first recesses 11. These first recesses 11 are through-holes.
[0047] Furthermore, the plate body 9 has a plurality of second recesses 12, designed as pockets. The second recesses 12 are open on the inner surface 7.
[0048] The plate body 9 of the second mounting element 4 and the first mounting element 3 comprise a plurality of mounting openings 13. These mounting openings 13 are through-cutouts, in particular through-holes, which extend in alignment through both mounting elements 3, 4. When the mounting bracket is installed, the two mounting elements 3, 4 are in particular already connected to one another. The screws for fastening to the mounting surface 101 are inserted from the front side 8 through both mounting elements 3, 4. The mounting openings 13 in the second mounting element 4 are correspondingly large and are used as tool openings, so that only the first mounting element 3 is fastened to the mounting surface 101 by means of the screws.
[0049] Each individual connecting arrangement 5 comprises a locking element 14. In the illustrated embodiment, the individual locking element 14 is U-shaped. The locking element 14 is located in a third recess 13 in the plate-shaped first mounting element 3. In this third recess 18, the locking element 14 is linearly movable perpendicular to the mounting axis 2.
[0050] Fig. 2 For example, the locking elements 14 are shown in their holding position. The locking elements 14 engage positively with the positive-locking elements 10 of the second mounting element 4.
[0051] A trigger element 15 is provided in each connecting arrangement 5. This trigger element 15 is designed here as a glass ampoule. The trigger element 15 holds the associated locking element 14 in the upper holding position. Furthermore, a drive element 16 is located in the third recess 18 of each connecting arrangement 5. The respective drive element 16 is arranged between the locking element 14 and the first mounting element 3. The drive element 16 is formed here from a thermally intumescent material.
[0052] For example, the sectional view in Fig. 6 As shown, the third recess 18 in the first mounting element 3 continues into the first recess 11 in the second mounting element 4. This allows the locking element 14 and the drive element 16 to extend into both recesses 18, 11.
[0053] Likewise, the sectional view in Fig. 6 that the trigger element 15 is tensioned against a compensating spring 20 by means of an adjusting screw 19. As a result, the trigger element 15 is clamped between the locking element 15 and the first mounting element 3.
[0054] In the second recess 12 of the second mounting element 4 there is a release element 17 (see Fig. 4 ), here also designed as a thermally intumescent material.
[0055] Under appropriate thermal stress, the trigger element 15 is destroyed. Furthermore, the drive element 16 expands due to the thermal effect and pushes the locking element 14 downwards. The positive connection between the two mounting elements 3, 4 is released. Fig. 7 As schematically illustrated, in the next step, the release element 17 expands and pushes the two mounting elements 3, 4 apart in a direction parallel to the mounting axis 2. This causes the door actuator 102 to detach from the mounting surface 101.
[0056] The second embodiment shows Fig. 8 the back surface 6 of the mounting bracket 1. Fig. 9 shows the Fig. 8 marked cut CC. In Fig. 10 is another sectional view of a parallel to the drawing plane of the Fig. 8 shown in a horizontal section. Fig. 11 shows the Fig. 8 marked cut DD. Fig. 12 und 13 show variants of the second embodiment.
[0057] In the second embodiment, the locking elements 14 are not moved from top to bottom, but in a horizontal direction. Fig. 8 shows the rear surface 6 of the mounting bracket 1. The holding elements 14 are in the holding position. The second mounting element 4 is not designed as a plate. Rather, several second mounting elements 4 are used here, six in the specific example. The individual second mounting elements 4 are designed as bushings with an internal thread 30. These bushings are inserted into the plate-shaped first mounting element 3. In the illustration according to Fig. 8 the upper right second mounting element 4 is hidden.
[0058] The second mounting elements 4, designed as bushings, have a groove, preferably with a non-circular cross-section. This area serves as a positive locking element 10. Correspondingly fork-shaped areas of the locking elements 14 engage in these positive locking elements 10. This secures the second mounting elements 4 against twisting and falling out.
[0059] The door operator 102 is connected, in particular screwed, to the bush-shaped second mounting elements 4 directly or via another plate-shaped element. If the second mounting elements 4 detach from the first mounting element 3, the door operator 102 also falls off.
[0060] For example Fig. 10 As illustrated, in the second embodiment, the trigger element 15 is also supported between the locking element 14 and the first mounting element 3. For this purpose, an adjusting screw 19 is again provided, which enables the trigger element 15 to be tensioned against a compensating spring 20.
[0061] The drive element 16 is in turn made of thermally intumescent material and, upon appropriate thermal stress and resulting expansion, pushes the locking element 14 into its release position.
[0062] Fig. 11 shows the arrangement of the release element 17 in a corresponding recess in the first mounting element 3. With this release element 17, the door operator 102 is immediately pushed away from the first mounting element 3.
[0063] The sectional views in both embodiments show the definition of the thickness 22 of the mounting bracket 1 parallel to the mounting axis 2. Any positioning extensions 21 onto which the door operator 102 is attached are not taken into account when considering the thickness 22.
[0064] Fig. 12 shows a variant of the design of the connecting arrangement 5 in the second embodiment. Instead of a rigid locking element 14, a locking element 14 with two levers 31 mounted so as to be rotatable relative to each other is used here. Purely schematically, Fig. 12 that when the trigger element 15 is triggered via a corresponding drive element 16, the pivot point between these two levers 31 can be moved, whereby the locking element 14 moves into its release position - the fork-shaped sections of the two levers 31 detach from the second mounting elements 4.
[0065] Fig. 13 shows a further, purely schematically illustrated variant of the second embodiment. Here, the locking element 14 is again formed by two levers 31 that can rotate relative to one another. The rotational axis of the two levers 31 is stationary. On one side of the rotational axis, the two levers 31 are connected via the trigger element 15. When the trigger element 15 no longer keeps these two ends of the two levers 31 at a distance, the drive element 16, designed here as a spring, on the opposite side of the rotational axis can pull the two ends together with the fork-shaped configurations, so that the locking element 14 moves into its release position.
