AI Technical Summary
Existing footwear solutions for treating foot deformities like hallux valgus are often complex, require manual adjustment, and do not effectively address the dynamic movements of the foot during walking, leading to suboptimal therapeutic outcomes.
A footwear design featuring an elastic corrective band that applies dual corrective forces to the toe and metatarsophalangeal joint, with a retaining element to stabilize the foot, allowing for natural movement and adjustable therapeutic forces through elastic deformation.
The dual corrective forces effectively treat and prevent foot deformities by guiding foot components into anatomically correct positions, enhancing therapeutic efficacy while maintaining comfort and simplicity of use.
Description
Technical area
[0001] The present invention relates to a footwear for the treatment and prevention of foot deformities, in particular for the treatment and prevention of hallux valgus. State of the art
[0002] Pathological misalignments in a patient's midfoot and forefoot area can have various causes, such as genetic predisposition, wearing improper footwear, especially shoes that are too tight or have high heels, or a flattening of the longitudinal and transverse arches due to instability of the connective tissue in the midfoot area. In particular, the malalignment of the big toe in the metatarsophalangeal joint, known as hallux valgus, is becoming increasingly important due to the steadily growing number of cases.
[0003] Hallux valgus occurs when the big toe is pulled toward the inside of the foot by muscle tension at the metatarsophalangeal joint. The first metatarsal bone protrudes as a ball-like bulge at the metatarsophalangeal joint on the inside of the foot, a condition known as pseudoexostosis. Hallux valgus is also often accompanied by changes in the length and direction of tension of the tendons, which can further worsen the misalignment over time. This leads to osteoarthritis of the metatarsophalangeal joint, which requires surgical treatment in advanced stages.
[0004] In addition to surgical interventions, conservative treatment methods are also known to halt or counteract the disease process. For example, taping or orthoses are known for treating the foot in a resting position. Due to the required rest position of the foot during treatment, these are primarily used at night.
[0005] Furthermore, the use of sandals for the therapeutic treatment of hallux valgus is known. EP 3 716 806 A1, for example, discloses a hallux valgus sandal with a rigid loop section that can be arranged around a toe to be treated. By exerting a tensile force on the rigid loop section, therapeutic corrective forces are applied to the toe to be treated.
[0006] US 2011 / 130695 A1 discloses an orthopedic device in the form of a shoe insert with an insole and an attached big toe band. Further prior art is known from US 2011 / 179674 A1 and CN 111 387 636 A. Description of the invention
[0007] Based on the known prior art, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved footwear for the treatment and prevention of foot deformities, which in particular ensures effective therapeutic treatment and has a simple structure.
[0008] The problem is solved by a footwear having the features of the independent claim. Advantageous further developments emerge from the subclaims, the description, and the figures. Accordingly, a footwear for the treatment and prevention of foot deformities, in particular for the treatment and prevention of hallux valgus, is provided. The footwear comprises a sole with an outsole and an insole, and a retaining element for fixing a foot relative to the footwear; and a tensioning element to be fastened to a toe, which, when the footwear is fastened to the foot, is configured to exert a first corrective force on the toe and a second corrective force, directed opposite to the first corrective force, on a metatarsophalangeal joint. The tensioning element is an elastic corrective band, and the retaining element comprises a retaining band and a further retaining band.wherein the retaining strap, when attached to the foot, fixes at least one further toe adjacent to the toe and / or another metatarsophalangeal joint relative to the footwear, and the further retaining strap, when attached to the foot, fixes a metatarsal region of the foot relative to the footwear and rests against the foot in the region of an instep, and wherein oppositely arranged end sections of the correction strap, the retaining strap, and the further retaining strap are guided into the sole and arranged between the outsole and the insole and are connected thereto in a form-fitting and / or force-fitting and / or material-fitting manner.
[0009] By providing the proposed footwear with a second corrective force acting on the metatarsophalangeal joint in addition to the first corrective force acting on the toe, a particularly effective therapeutic effect can be achieved. This is because the first and second corrective forces can simultaneously achieve a therapeutic effect on a valgus position of the toe and a varus position of the metatarsophalangeal joint. Thus, the symptoms and cause of the foot deformity can be treated simultaneously. The corrective forces acting on the foot and the associated therapeutic effects are described in more detail below in connection with the associated footwear components.
[0010] The proposed solution further considers that, due to the flexion movement and the loads acting on them, the toes and metatarsophalangeal joint naturally tend to change their position relative to the midfoot when walking, particularly in a transverse direction. Within the scope of the present invention, it was recognized that these relative movements between the metatarsal, toe, and metatarsophalangeal joint influence the therapeutic effect and comfort of the footwear, particularly when the footwear is used by a patient while walking over an extended period of time. To account for this circumstance, the proposed footwear is provided with a tensioning element designed as an elastic correction band.On the one hand, the elastic correction band contributes to improved comfort by allowing a certain degree of natural relative movement between the foot components while still continuously exerting corrective forces. Furthermore, the proposed footwear makes it possible to utilize these relative movements to improve the therapeutic effect of the footwear. The use of the elastic correction band allows the amount of corrective forces applied to be adjusted to the situation, as the forces exerted by the correction band depend on its elastic stretch. Thus, in cases of pronounced relative movements, the amount of corrective forces is also increased.
[0011] Compared to known devices equipped with a multi-part tensioning mechanism that generates corrective forces by manually adjusting a tensile force on a toe loop section, the proposed footwear can be fixed to the foot with less effort. Furthermore, the footwear can consist of fewer components and thus has a compact and simple design.
[0012] The proposed footwear is intended to treat, counteract, and / or prevent a pathological deformity of a foot, in particular a toe and / or metatarsophalangeal joint, for example, a metatarsophalangeal joint associated with the toe. The proposed footwear can be used in particular for the prevention or treatment of hallux va igus, but is not limited to this application.
[0013] Footwear, as defined in the present disclosure, refers to any type of shoe or shoe-like footwear. For example, the term "footwear" refers to closed shoes and open shoes, such as sandals, in particular thong sandals, and the like. Accordingly, the proposed footwear is intended to be attached to a patient's foot and, when attached to the foot, to exert a therapeutic effect on the foot, in particular on the toe and the metatarsophalangeal joint. The term "footwear" refers to both a pair of shoes, i.e., a pair consisting of a left shoe and a right shoe, and to a single shoe.
[0014] In the present disclosure, the term "in a / the condition properly attached to the foot", also abbreviated herein to "in the attached condition", refers to a condition in which the footwear is properly attached to a patient's foot and accordingly produces a desired therapeutic effect for correcting or preventing deformities.
[0015] The proposed footwear is designed in such a way that, when fastened, it exerts corrective forces on the foot. The term "corrective forces" is understood here to mean forces that have a therapeutic effect on the foot being treated. In particular, the corrective forces guide the parts of the foot affected by the malposition into an anatomically correct or intended position to achieve a desired therapeutic effect.
[0016] As previously described, it was recognized within the scope of the present disclosure that a particularly effective therapeutic effect can be achieved if the footwear, in addition to the first corrective force acting on the toe, also exerts a second corrective force acting on the metatarsophalangeal joint. In the context of the present disclosure, the feature that the "second corrective force is exerted on the metatarsophalangeal joint" refers to those corrective forces that have a therapeutic effect on the metatarsophalangeal joint. Such corrective forces can be introduced directly into the metatarsophalangeal joint by means of the correction band or directly into a laterally bulging part of the ball of the toe, in particular a pseudoexostosis.Alternatively, such corrective forces can act indirectly on the metatarsal joint or the bulging part of the ball of the toe by means of the correction band, for example by exerting a corrective force on a metatarsal bone, in particular the first metatarsal bone, in the region of the metatarsal joint. The second corrective force has the particular purpose of therapeutically acting on the varus position of a metatarsal bone, specifically the varus position of the first metatarsal bone. The resulting interplay of corrective forces exerted on the foot can be particularly advantageous in the treatment of hallux valgus. As further described above, the second corrective force is directed opposite to the first corrective force. In the present disclosure, this means that a vector representing the first corrective force is opposite to a vector representing the second corrective force. The vectors representing the first and second corrective forces are parallel to each other, but point in different directions and are, in particular, spaced apart from each other.
[0017] For the sake of simplicity, in connection with the correction band, reference will generally be made to a toe of the foot. This can be the big toe of the foot being treated. However, the footwear is not limited to this, so the term can also refer to the little toe, for example. In connection with the second corrective force, for the sake of simplicity, reference will generally be made to a metatarsophalangeal joint, which can specifically refer to the big toe metatarsophalangeal joint, but the footwear is not limited to this. Alternatively, it can also refer to the little toe metatarsophalangeal joint, for example.
[0018] In the present disclosure, a reference system aligned with the midline of a patient's body, as is common in anatomy, is used to describe the footwear, particularly with respect to the foot to be treated. This allows the position and direction of the individual components of the proposed footwear, in the fastened state, to be specified with respect to the foot accommodated in the footwear. Accordingly, the term "medial" refers to a direction or side of the footwear that points toward a medial plane of the wearer's body. In anatomy, the term "medial plane," also called the "midsagittal plane," generally refers to an anatomical plane that divides the body into two symmetrical parts. Accordingly, when describing a footwear, the term "in a medial direction" means a direction pointing from the patient's foot to be treated toward their other foot.In this sense, the term "lateral" refers to a direction or side of the footwear that faces away from the medial plane of the wearer's body. Accordingly, when describing footwear that is attached to one foot of the wearer, the term "laterally" means in a direction away from the wearer's other foot.
[0019] To provide the corrective force, the proposed footwear is provided with a tensioning element designed as an elastic corrective band. The term "elastic band," in particular "elastic corrective band" and "elastic retaining band," is understood in the present disclosure to mean a band- or strap-shaped component that is elastically deformable to a significant extent in order to generate the first and second corrective forces. This is a key difference from a rigid band. In the present application, components that exhibit linear or non-linear elastic behavior for loads of at least 10% of the magnitude of the first or second corrective force are to be considered elastic. In other words, the correction band can absorb at least 10%, in particular substantially 100%, of the magnitude of the first or second corrective force in the form of tension forces caused by elastic deformation. In other words, the tension forces in the correction band caused by the elastic deformation can amount to at least 10%, in particular substantially 100%, of the magnitude of the first or second corrective force. The correction band is elastically deformable, in particular along its longitudinal direction and optionally along its transverse direction.
[0020] The proposed footwear is in particular provided such that, in the state fastened to the foot, the correction band is elastically deformed. In other words, the correction band can be arranged in a tensioned state in the state fastened to the foot, in which it is elastically deformed and is accordingly subjected to tensioning forces caused by the elastic deformation. If, on the other hand, the footwear is decoupled from the foot to be treated, the correction band can be in a resting state. In the state fastened to the foot, ie when the correction band is arranged in the tensioned state, the correction band can be elastically deformed by at least 2 mm or at least 3 mm or at least 5 mm. In other words, in the state fastened to the foot, ieWhen the correction band is arranged in the tensioned state, a length of the correction band can be extended by at least 2 mm, at least 3 mm, or at least 5 mm due to elastic deformation compared to the resting state of the correction band. Accordingly, the footwear can be designed and configured such that, in the fastened state, the first correction force and / or the second correction force are / is generated at least partially by a tensioning force prevailing in the correction band and caused by elastic deformation.
[0021] The footwear is preferably designed such that, when attached to the foot, the correction band rests at least partially against the foot, in particular in the area of the toe and / or the metatarsophalangeal joint, in particular in the area of the laterally bulging part of the ball of the toe. The surface of the correction band resting against the toe and / or the metatarsophalangeal joint, in particular in the area of the laterally bulging part of the ball of the toe, is referred to herein as the active surface. The footwear can be designed such that, when attached to the foot, the correction band is elastically deformed along its active surface, in particular along the entire active surface or in sections, and / or along sections adjacent to the active surface.
[0022] The correction tape can be constructed in multiple layers. For example, the correction tape can have an elastically deformable layer, which can contribute significantly to the elastic properties of the correction tape. The elastically deformable layer can be provided by a rubber material, for example, an elastomer. Alternatively or additionally, the correction tape can have at least one support layer. A first support layer can be arranged along the active surface. The first support layer can be made of a nonwoven, for example. In this way, wearing comfort can be increased. According to one embodiment, the correction tape can be designed such that the first support layer and a correspondingly designed second support layer can be arranged on opposite sides of the elastically deformable layer.
[0023] In the attached state, the correction band can encompass the toe at least in sections. In the present case, encompassing the toe means that the correction band extends in the circumferential direction of the toe along the toe when attached to the foot. Preferably, the toe segment extends around the toe or around the toe and the metatarsophalangeal joint over a radian measure of substantially π rad around the toe's longitudinal axis. This means that the correction band extends in the circumferential direction of the toe at least along half of the circumference of a toe. In other words, the correction band can extend from one side of the toe to the opposite side of the toe or the metatarsophalangeal joint. According to one embodiment, the correction band can extend from a lateral side of the toe along a toe surface to a medial side of the foot in the region of the metatarsophalangeal joint or a ball of the toe.Alternatively, the correction band can extend from a medial side of the toe, in particular a little toe, along a toe surface to a lateral side of the foot in the region of the metatarsophalangeal joint, in particular the metatarsophalangeal joint of the little toe. In other words, the effective surface can be designed as a turning surface, the surface normal of which changes along a toe base axis, but in particular essentially points toward the toe base axis.
[0024] The correction band comprises oppositely arranged end sections, in particular a first end section and a second end section arranged opposite thereto. The footwear can be designed such that, when fastened to the foot, the first end section is positioned between the toe and another adjacent toe, in particular the second toe of the foot, and is in particular guided into a sole of the footwear. The second end section can be positioned in the region of the metatarsophalangeal joint and guided into the sole. The second end section can bear laterally against the metatarsophalangeal joint or the laterally bulging part of the ball of the toe associated with the metatarsophalangeal joint and, in particular, can encompass it in sections. Alternatively, the second end section can be arranged in front of or behind the metatarsophalangeal joint in a direction pointing from the metatarsophalangeal joint to the toe.
[0025] Furthermore, the correction band is connected to the sole via the first end section and the second end section, particularly firmly, and especially tensile-resistant. For this purpose, the first end section and the second end section are connected to the sole in a form-fitting, force-fitting, and / or material-fitting manner.
[0026] The sole of the footwear has a multi-layered structure. In other words, the sole of the footwear can be constructed from several flat layers. The sole comprises an outsole and an insole, with the first end portion and the second end portion being arranged in sections between the outsole and the insole.
[0027] In a further development, a connecting portion of the correction band, via which the first end portion of the correction band is connected to the sole, can be arranged at a distance from a proximal end of a toe space between the toe and the adjacent toe. A distance between the connecting portion and the proximal end of the toe space along a longitudinal axis of the foot can be in a range between 4 mm and 18 mm, in particular in a range between 6 mm and 15 mm.
[0028] The footwear further comprises the holding element, which, in the attached state, is configured to fix the foot to be treated relative to the footwear, in particular to hold it in a predefined position. In other words, the holding element can be provided to exert a holding force on the foot when attached to the foot. Through the interaction of the corrective forces and the holding force, the footwear can be reliably held stably on the foot to be treated in a position intended for therapeutic treatment and, at the same time, can exert a therapeutic effect on the foot.
[0029] The holding element comprises the holding strap, which, when attached to the foot, is designed to fix at least one further toe adjacent to the toe, in particular the second toe or the second to fifth toes, and / or a further metatarsophalangeal joint arranged opposite the metatarsophalangeal joint, in particular the metatarsophalangeal joint of the little toe, relative to the footwear. In particular, the holding strap can exert a holding force on the further toe adjacent to the toe, wherein the holding force can in particular be directed opposite to the first corrective force. In this way, the holding strap ensures that the corrective forces can act properly on the toe and the metatarsophalangeal joint, since the holding force can hold the foot stably in the footwear.
[0030] In a further development, the holding force exerted by the holding strap can have a therapeutic effect on the foot to be treated, which in particular contributes to the therapeutic effect of the first and second corrective force and / or provides a further therapeutic effect that is to be distinguished therefrom.
[0031] When attached to the foot, the retaining strap can rest against the additional toe adjacent to the toe and / or rest against the foot in the region of the additional metatarsophalangeal joint arranged opposite the metatarsophalangeal joint. In a further development, when attached to the foot, the retaining strap can rest against the foot in such a way that the retaining strap extends from one side of the additional toe, in particular the second toe, to an opposite side of the additional metatarsophalangeal joint. In particular, the retaining strap can extend from a medial side of the additional toe, in particular the second toe, to the lateral side of the additional metatarsophalangeal joint.
[0032] The retaining strap can in particular be an elastic retaining strap which can be elastically deformed when fastened to the foot. The retaining strap is elastically deformable in particular along its longitudinal direction and optionally along its transverse direction. In other words, in the state fastened to the foot, the retaining strap can be arranged in a tensioned state in which it is elastically deformed and is accordingly subjected to tensioning forces caused by the elastic deformation. If, on the other hand, the footwear is decoupled from the foot to be treated, the retaining strap is in a resting state. In the state fastened to the foot, ie when the extended retaining strap is arranged in the tensioned state, the retaining strap can be elastically deformed by at least 2 mm or at least 3 mm or at least 5 mm. In other words, in the state fastened to the foot, iewhen the retaining strap is arranged in the tensioned state, a length of the retaining strap can be extended by at least 2 mm or at least 3 mm or at least 5 mm due to elastic deformation compared to the resting state of the retaining strap. Accordingly, the footwear can be designed and configured such that, in the fastened state, the holding force exerted by the retaining strap is at least partially generated by a tensioning force prevailing in the retaining strap and caused by elastic deformation. With regard to its material properties, in particular with regard to its elastic properties, the retaining strap can be designed correspondingly to the correction strap. In other words, the retaining strap can be made of the same material as the correction strap.
[0033] The retaining element comprises a further retaining strap which, when attached to the foot, fixes a midfoot region of the foot relative to the footwear and rests against the foot in the area of an instep or instep. The further retaining strap can be made of a substantially tensile-resistant material. In other words, the further retaining strap can be a tensile-resistant retaining strap.
[0034] The additional retaining strap may comprise a distal end portion and two proximal end portions, which may be firmly connected, in particular rigidly connected, to the sole. The footwear may be configured such that, when attached to the foot, the distal end portion is positioned between the toe and the adjacent further toe and is attached to the sole, and the two proximal end portions are positioned on opposite sides, i.e., on a lateral and a medial side, of the foot and are attached to the sole. Short description of the characters

These schematically show: Figure 1 is a plan view of a footwear for treating and preventing foot deformities in a state attached to a patient's foot; and Figures 2 and 3 Figure 1 shown footwear in perspective views from different sides. Detailed description of preferred embodiments
[0036] Preferred embodiments are described below with reference to the figures. Identical, similar, or equivalent elements in the various figures are provided with identical reference numerals, and a repeated description of these elements is partially omitted to avoid redundancies.
[0037] Figures 1 to 3show a footwear 10 for the treatment and prevention of foot deformities, in particular for the treatment and prevention of hallux valgus. The footwear 10 is provided in the form of a sandal, in particular in the form of a thong sandal.
[0038] The footwear 10 comprises a sole 12 to which a holding element 14 and a tensioning element 16 are attached, each forming loops for receiving different sections of the foot to be treated.
[0039] The tensioning element 16 is designed to form a loop through which a big toe of the foot, hereinafter referred to as the "toe," is guided. The tensioning element 16 is configured to be attached to the toe and, when attached to the foot, as shown in Figure 1, to exert a first corrective force F1 on the toe and a second corrective force F2, directed opposite to the first corrective force, on a metatarsophalangeal joint, as shown in Figure 1The vectors "F1" and "F2" branching off from the correction forces are indicated. The tensioning element 16 is provided in the form of an elastic correction band, hereinafter referred to as the "correction band."
[0040] The holding element 14 is provided for fixing the foot relative to the footwear 10, in particular relative to the sole 12, and for this purpose comprises a first holding strap 18 and a separate second holding strap 20. The first holding strap 18 is designed such that it forms a loop through which a second to fifth toe of the foot are guided, as in Figure 1 shown. The first retaining strap 18 is provided in the form of an elastic retaining strap.
[0041] The second retaining strap 20 is designed to fix a midfoot region of the foot relative to the footwear 10 when fastened to the foot. For this purpose, the second retaining strap 20 rests against the foot in the area of an instep or instep, as shown in Figures 1 to 3shown. The second retaining strap 20 is provided in the form of a rigid retaining strap.
[0042] The sole 12 of the footwear 10 has a multi-layered structure and comprises an outsole and an insole. The correction band 16, the first retaining band 18, and the second retaining band 20 are firmly connected to the sole 12. For this purpose, oppositely arranged end sections of the correction band 16, the first retaining band 18, and the second retaining band 20 are firmly and tensile-resistantly connected to the sole 12. For this purpose, the oppositely arranged end sections of the correction band 16, the first retaining band 18, and the second retaining band 20 are guided into the sole and arranged between the outsole and the insole, and are connected to them in a form-fitting and / or force-fitting and / or material-fitting manner.
[0043] The correction band 16 and the first retaining band 18 are elastically deformed in the state fastened to the foot, in particular elastically deformed by at least 3 mm. In other words, the correction band 16 and the first retaining band 18 are arranged in a tensioned state in the state fastened to the foot, in which they are elastically deformed and are accordingly subjected to tensioning forces caused by the elastic deformation. If, on the other hand, the footwear 10 is decoupled from the foot to be treated, the correction band 16 and the first retaining band 18 are arranged in a resting state. In the state fastened to the foot, ie when the correction band 16 and the first retaining band 18 are arranged in the tensioned state, the correction band and the first retaining band are elastically deformed by at least 2 mm or at least 3 mm or at least 5 mm.In other words, in the state fastened to the foot, a length, in particular the wrap length, of the correction band 16 and the first holding band 18 is extended by at least 2 mm or at least 3 mm or at least 5 mm due to elastic deformation compared to their rest state. In the fastened state, the first and second corrective forces exerted by the correction band 18 and a holding force F3 exerted by the first holding band are generated by a tensioning force prevailing in the correction band and the first holding band 18 and caused by elastic deformation. The holding force F3 is exerted on the second toe in a direction opposite to the first corrective force, as shown in FIG. Figure 1 shown.
[0044] The correction tape and the first retaining tape have a multi-layer construction. More specifically, they comprise an elastic layer, in particular made of an elastomer, covered by two support layers on opposing surfaces. The support layers are made of a nonwoven material.
[0045] The correction band 16 rests along an effective surface on the toe and the metatarsophalangeal joint. When attached to the foot, the correction band 16 is elastically deformed along its effective surface and / or along sections adjacent to the effective surface. In the tensioned state, the correction band 16 encompasses the toe at least in sections such that the correction band extends from a lateral side of the toe along a toe surface to a medial side of the foot in the region of the metatarsophalangeal joint, as shown in Figure 1 and 2 shown.
[0046] The correction band comprises a first end portion 22 and a second end portion 24 arranged opposite thereto. When attached to the foot, the first end portion 22 is positioned between the big toe and the second toe, more precisely in a space between them. The second end portion 24 is positioned in the area of the metatarsophalangeal joint of the big toe, as shown in Figure 1 shown. The correction band 16 is rigidly connected to the sole 12 of the footwear 10 via the first end section 22 and the second end section 24, as already described above. The second end section 24 lies laterally against the metatarsophalangeal joint, i.e., against the laterally bulging part of the ball of the toe. Alternatively, the second end section 24 can be arranged in a direction pointing from the metatarsophalangeal joint to the toe, i.e., along the longitudinal direction X, before or after the metatarsophalangeal joint or the ball of the toe.
[0047] The first end section 22 of the correction band 16 is connected to the sole 12 via a connecting section 26. The connecting section 26 forms the section at which the correction band 16 comes into contact with the sole 12 or is guided into the sole 12. In other words, the first end section 22 protrudes from the sole 12 at the connecting section 26. The connecting section 26 is arranged at a distance from a proximal end of the interdigital space, specifically such that a distance between the connecting section 26 and the proximal end of the interdigital space along the longitudinal axis X of the foot lies in a range between 6 mm and 16 mm.
[0048] The first retaining strap 18 is designed to fix at least the second toe and the metatarsophalangeal joint of the little toe relative to the footwear 10 when fastened to the foot. For this purpose, the first retaining strap 18 bears against the second toe and the metatarsophalangeal joint of the little toe. More precisely, the first retaining strap 18 comprises a first end portion 28 and a second end portion 30 arranged opposite thereto. When fastened to the foot, the first end portion 28 is positioned between the big toe and the second toe, more precisely in the space between them. The second end portion 30 is positioned in the region of the metatarsophalangeal joint of the little toe, as shown in Figure 1shown. The first retaining strap 18 is rigidly connected to the sole 12 of the footwear 10 via its first end section 28 and its second end section 30, as already described above. In the configuration shown here, the second end section 30 rests against the foot such that it is arranged in front of the metatarsophalangeal joint of the little toe in the longitudinal direction X. Alternatively, the second end section 30 can be arranged behind the metatarsophalangeal joint of the little toe in the longitudinal direction X or can rest laterally against it.
[0049] The substantially rigid second retaining strap 20 comprises a distal end portion 32 and two proximal end portions 34, 36, which are rigidly connected to the sole 12. The distal end portion 32 is arranged in the interdigital space between the big toe and the second toe and abuts the proximal end of the interdigital space. The two proximal end portions 34, 36 are positioned on opposite sides of the foot, more specifically, on a lateral and a medial side, and are attached to the sole. List of reference symbols
