Patient specific ankle-foot orthotic device

The unique advantages of computer-controlled fabrication of a patient-specific orthotic device using an automated fabrication machine capable of following computer instructions to create 3D surface contours and new developments in non-invasive three-dimensional (3D) scanning have made it possible to acquire digital models of freeform surfaces such as the surface anatomy of the human body and to then fabricate such a patient-specific device with high precision. Such a patient-specific device brings significant improvement in patient-specific fit, comfort, and function of medical devices (and, in particular, to orthoses that require a close fit to the wearer's body to act effectively). The combination of these two technologies is ideally suited for the development of patient-specific orthotic devices.A patient specific ankle-foot orthotic device using this technology is disclosed. This exemplary device is used to help stabilize the ankle-foot region, for example, in patients with impaired gait.

Method and system for accessing web pages in the background

A method and system that allows the user to fetch a subsequent web page while maintaining the current web page as the active web page. The next web page is fetched “in the background” and stored in cache memory without interrupting the user. Once the requested web page has been stored in cache, an indicator is added to the history list allowing the user access to the processed web page. In order to view the next web page, the user simply selects the appropriate icon on the user interface, such as the forward button which is akin to selecting the back or forward button to scroll through the history of web pages. Since the web page is in the cache, it is displayed relatively quickly and since the user selects when to display the page, there is no interruption.

Three-dimensional printing preparation method for orthoses

InactiveCN104665970ASmooth surface and good quality3D scanning is convenientMedical scienceProcess engineering3 dimensional printing
The invention discloses a three-dimensional printing preparation method for orthoses. The method is based on three-dimensional scanning, virtual restoration and three-dimensional printing techniques. The production periods of conventional orthoses are long, the orthopedic effect of the conventional orthoses is common, the manpower cost is high, and the conventional orthoses are highly inconvenient for patients. The method disclosed by the invention first utilizes a three-dimensional scanning device to scan a part to be corrected and record the three-dimensional scanned data of the part to be corrected; three-dimensional software is then utilized to carry out data processing on the three-dimensional model obtained by scanning, so that a digital three-dimensional orthosis model with an orthopedic function is obtained; finally, the digital three-dimensional orthosis model is printed by the three-dimensional printing process. The method solves the problem of complex shaping and shape correction by means of the three-dimensional scanning technique; the three-dimensional software is used for digitalized correction and restoration, so that the correction process is quantitative and accurate; since the three-dimensional printing production method is adopted, materials are diversified, and the production speed is high. Because three-dimensional digitalized operation is adopted by the whole process, the scheme dispenses with the vast majority of manual processing work, and therefore the cost is low.
