System and method for a bunionectomy via bone cutting and fixation of a metatarsal in the foot

PendingUS20260069316A1Surgical sawsFastenersFifth metatarsal boneFirst metatarsal
A system and method for a ROSE-Reverdin / DARE osteotomy obviates severe deformities having a high intermetatarsal angle and which require closure via osteotomy (bone cut) of the first and / or fifth metatarsal in the midshaft or proximal aspect of the bone. The ROSE osteotomy is utilized to achieve this correction and is performed without need for fusion of the first metatarsal cuneiform joint. The ROSE osteotomy achieves correction of the intermetatarsal angle via rotation of the first and / or fifth metatarsal about a proximal based axis point. The Reverdin / DARE osteotomy is required to correct a deviated articular cartilage deformity at the head of the first metatarsal and / or additional slight correction of the IM angle. The Reverdin / DARE osteotomy achieves correction by wedging of the cut to realign the cartilage and translation of the head of the first metatarsal for further IM correction. A unique jig is used to achieve this cut and fixation.

Devices and techniques for performing an osteotomy procedure on a first metatarsal to correct a bone misalignment

PendingUS20260007415A1Surgical sawsBone drill guidesBone MalalignmentTransverse incision
Devices and techniques for adjusting an alignment for a first metatarsal may include making a plurality of cuts along the length of the first metatarsal. In different applications of the technique, a plurality of transverse cuts may or may not be made intersecting the longitudinal cuts. In either case, the cuts can separate the first metatarsal into two individual portions and release a removable wedge of bone. The different portions of the metatarsal can be moved relative to each other to adjust an anatomical alignment of one portion relative to another portion, for example in multiple planes. After suitably adjusting the alignment of the different bone portions, the portions can be fixed together.

Reduction guiding instrument for hallux valgus surgery

The invention discloses a reduction guide instrument for a hallux valgus surgery, and belongs to the technical field of medical instruments. The reduction guide instrument for the hallux valgus surgery comprises a box with the interior of a hollow structure, and a foot fixing assembly is installed in the box and used for fixing the foot of a patient in the surgery; the top of the arc-shaped block is fixedly connected with a controllable reset moving assembly used for adjusting and moving the first metatarsal osteotomy reset distance of a patient, the arc-shaped block is in threaded connection with a first fastening threaded rod in a penetrating mode, the first fastening threaded rod is in threaded connection with a rotary knob in a penetrating mode, and the rotary knob is rotationally connected with the outer wall of the arc-shaped block. By adopting the controllable reduction moving assembly and the foot fixing assembly, dynamic regulation and control of the osteotomy translation distance are achieved, the hallux valgus severity degree of different patients is accurately adapted, deviation caused by the fact that the reduction amount depends on experience estimation in a traditional operation is avoided, and the risks of post-operation re-deflection and poor bone healing are remarkably reduced.

First metatarsal lateral release instrument and technique

PendingEP4482408A4SurgeryPhysical medicine and rehabilitationFirst metatarsal
Instruments and techniques can be used to release a first metatarsal for realignment. In some implementations, a techniques involves surgically accessing a sesamoidal ligament in a foot of a patient and advancing a guiding projection of a cutting instrument under the sesamoidal ligament. This can capture the sesamoidal ligament between the guiding projection of the cutting instrument and a cutting surface of the cutting instrument that is recessed relative to a distal end of the guiding projection. The techniques further involves cutting the sesamoidal ligament with the cutting surface of the cutting instrument.

Provided is a sole mounting body that is usable as an insole, a sandal, a sock, or the like. A sole mounting body 30 includes: a sole body (or a sole main body supporting a sole) 11 on which a sole is placed; and a first protrusion 13 protruding from the sole body (or the sole main body) 11 toward a foot underside. The first protrusion 13 primarily supports a center part 51c of a first metatarsal 51. The sole mounting body 30 may comprise a second protrusion 15 and a third protrusion 17 projecting from the sole body (or the sole main body) 11 toward the foot underside. In this case, the second protrusion 15 primarily supports the navicular bone 55, and the third protrusion 17 primarily supports the cubic bone 57.

Z-shaped guiding osteotomy device for correcting foot eversion

This application provides a Z-shaped guided osteotomy device for hallux valgus correction. The guided osteotomy device includes a Z-shaped integrated guide blade, a pair of alignment channels, and a handle. The guide blade includes a long arm segment and short arm segments at both ends of the long arm segment. The included angle between the long arm segment and the short arm segments is 60°-80°. The guide trajectories defined by the long arm segment and the short arm segments together constitute the spatial guide path for the Z-shaped osteotomy. The pair of alignment channels are centrally symmetrically arranged with respect to the longitudinal center of the long arm segment, and the axis of the alignment channels is perpendicular to the bone surface of the first metatarsal. The above device enables precise three-dimensional spatial control of the osteotomy position, angle, and direction, reducing reliance on the surgeon's personal experience, standardizing the results of complex orthopedic surgeries, and completing the Z-shaped osteotomy in one operation through the spatial guide path. This reduces the operation time, shortens the high-temperature friction time between the guide blade and the bone, avoids the risk of thermal damage to local bone tissue, and facilitates postoperative recovery for the patient.

Three-dimensional integrated eversion orthosis

The invention discloses a three-dimensional integrated eversion orthosis which comprises a module, a first metatarsal bone far-end pushing screw guide pipe, a first metatarsal bone far-end pushing screw, a first metatarsal bone far-end fixing rotary threaded needle, a swing saw guide sleeve and an osteotomy end fixing guide pipe, and a first channel, a second channel and a third channel are sequentially formed in the module from one end of the module to the other end of the module. According to the three-dimensional integrated eversion orthosis, three-dimensional deformity of eversion is corrected in a three-dimensional mode, and deformity can be corrected from the horizontal plane, the sagittal plane and the coronal plane at the same time in an integrated mode through the eversion orthosis; the design is an orthopedic surgical instrument which is light, applicable, relatively low in cost and universal in the left-right direction, can help a surgeon to well correct deformity, improve the surgical effect, save the surgical time, reduce bleeding and reduce the surgical risk in the surgery, and has a wide application prospect.
