[0003] The present disclosure relates generally to adjustable baby seat carriers. More specifically, the disclosure relates to a baby seat carrier for carrying a child and a method for producing the baby seat carrier as defined in the introductory parts of the independent claims.

[0005] Baby seat carriers are widespread products for carrying small children around. A part of the popularity stems from that baby seat carriers provide safety and comfort to the baby when being carried by a person. The person can moreover comfortably carry the baby close by while having two free hands to interact with the baby and to perform every day duties or other activities.
[0006] The ergonomics of the baby seat carrier plays an important role. The baby seat carrier has to be comfortable for the baby as well as for the carrying person. To this end, the baby seat carrier needs to be adjustable in size to properly support the baby as it grows. There is further a need to be able to change between different carrying positions both for the baby and for the carrying person.
[0007] By way of example, it may be favourable to carry the baby facing towards the carrying person during at least the baby's first few months to provide proper support to the baby's body, in particular neck and head, and to ensure a strong intimacy between the baby and the carrying person. After about five to six months or so, most babies prefer to be carried facing outward from the carrying person. This as the baby becomes stronger, more aware of the world around, and eager to interact with the surroundings.
[0008] Although there exist several different designs for baby seat carriers, most carriers suffer from one or more drawbacks. For instance, one common drawback associated with conventional baby seat carriers is that they do not allow for adjustable and comfortable carrying positions. By way of example, the seat portion where the baby sits has, conventionally, fixed dimensions offering only limited adjustment possibilities for a growing baby. Furthermore, the fixed nature of the seat portions of many conventional baby seat carriers may limit the adaptability when switching between carrying the child facing inward or outward from the person carrying. Such baby seat carriers may not provide sufficient comfort and support to the baby in more than one seating position. There is therefore a need to provide baby seat carriers that are more flexible and adaptable to different carrying positions as well as to the needs of a growing baby.
[0009] It is an object of the present disclosure to mitigate, alleviate or eliminate one or more of the above-identified deficiencies and disadvantages in the prior art and solve at least the above-mentioned problem.
[0010] According to a first aspect there is provided a baby seat carrier for carrying a child. The baby seat carrier comprising: shoulder strap members; a waist belt member; an internal member configured to abut and extend along the torso of a carrying user, the internal member being connected to the waist belt member and the shoulder strap members; an external cover member comprising: an upper element for supporting the child; and a lower element being connected to the internal member and to the waist belt member thereby forming a suspended pocket seat for the child; wherein the lower element and the waist belt member form a connection portion, the lower element having a base seat width at the connection portion; and a size adjustment arrangement comprising: at least one guide rail extending transversally and being attached to the upper element; and two slider members being attached to distal edges of the lower element and slidable connected to the at least one guide rail whereby the lower element is adjustable in width relative to the width of the upper element and relative to the base seat width such that an adjustable seat width of the suspended pocket seat is provided.

The knees of the child may further be elevated as the lower element supports the thighs of the child. Put differently, the femurs of the child are supported by the distal edges of the lower element. A for the child natural and comfortable spread-squat-position may thereby be supported by the baby seat carrier.

Claims
CLAIMS1. A baby seat carrier for carrying a child, the baby seat carrier (100) comprising: shoulder strap members (102); a waist belt member (104); an internal member (106) configured to abut and extend along the torso of a carrying user, said internal member (106) being connected to the waist belt member (104) and the shoulder strap members (102); an external cover member (108) comprising: an upper element (110) for supporting the child; and a lower element (112) being connected to said internal member (106) and to said waist belt member (104) thereby forming a suspended pocket seat (114) for the child; wherein said lower element (112) and said waist belt member (104) form a connection portion (115), said lower element (112) having a base seat width (116) at the connection portion (115); and a size adjustment arrangement (118) comprising: at least one guide rail (120) extending transversally and being attached to the upper element (110); and two slider members (122) being attached to distal edges (124) of the lower element (112) and slidable connected (126) to the at least one guide rail (120) whereby the lower element (112) is adjustable in width relative to the width of the upper element (110) and relative to the base seat width (116) such that an adjustable seat width (128) of the suspended pocket seat (114) is provided.
2. The baby seat carrier according to claim 1, wherein the base seat width (116) is fixed in width.
3. The baby seat carrier according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the adjustable seat width (128) of suspended pocket seat (114) is adjustable to be less than the base seat width (116).

The baby seat carrier according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the upper element (110) has an outer surface (130) and an inner surface (132), the inner surface (132) facing the internal member (106) when the baby seat carrier (100) is adapted to carry the child; and wherein the at least one guide rail (120) is arranged on the inner surface (132).
5. The baby seat carrier according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the lower element (112) has an outer surface (130) and an inner surface (132), the inner surface (132) facing the internal member (106) when the baby seat carrier (100) is adapted to carry the child; and wherein the two slider members (122) are arranged on the inner surface (132).
6. The baby seat carrier according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the at least one rail (120) comprises two spatially separated guide rails.
7. The baby seat carrier according to any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the two slider members (122) are arranged at top distal edges (134) of the lower element (112) when the baby seat carrier (100) is in use.
8. The baby seat carrier according to claim 7, wherein bottom distal edges (136) of the lower element (112) are arranged to be stationary in position relative to the adjustment of the two sliding members (122) along the at least one guide rail (120), the bottom distal edges (136) being opposite to the respective top distal edges (134).
9. The baby seat carrier according to any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein each of the two slider members (122) are in the form of a hook member (138) connected to the at the at least one guide rail (120).
10. The baby carrier according to any one of claims 1 to 9, wherein the base seat width (116) extends in a first transverse plane (142) and the adjustable seat width (128) extends in a second transverse plane (144), wherein said first and second transverse planes (142, 144) are parallel.
11. The baby seat carrier according to any one of claims 1 to 10, wherein the upper element (110) further comprises at least one protective cover (146), said protective cover (146) being arranged to cover the at least one guide rail (120) and the two slider members (122).
12. The baby seat carrier according to claim 11, wherein said at least one protective cover (146) is arranged on the inner surface (132) of the upper element (110).
13. The baby seat carrier according to claim 11 or 12, wherein said at least one protective cover (146) comprises an overlap opening (148) such that the two slider members (122) are reachable for the carrying user.
14. The baby seat carrier according to any one of the claims 1 to 13, wherein the upper element (110) and the lower element (112) are connected via a connection element (150).
15. A method for producing the baby seat carrier according to any one of the claims 1 to 14, the method (600) comprising: providing (602) the upper element (110); attaching (604) the at least one guide rail (120) to the upper element (110); providing (606) the lower element (112); attaching (608) the two slider members (122) to distal edges (124) of the lower element (112); and connecting (610) the two slider members (122) to the at least one guide rail (120).
