Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention falls within the technical field relating to a Telemark binding, and in particular to a Telemark binding suitable for alpine skiing.
[0002] Telemark binding for alpine skiing is known from EP2737930A1, comprising: a base fixable to a ski; a first jaw that is rotatably coupled with the base; a second jaw that is opposed to the first jaw and that is rotatably coupled with the base; a first pin that is carried by the first jaw and that is dimensioned to be inserted into a first side hole made in the toe of a ski boot; a second pin that is carried by the second jaw and that is dimensioned to be inserted into a second side hole made in the toe of the ski boot; a joint that is connected to the first jaw and to the second jaw; elastic means that are arranged to stabilize the position of the first jaw and of the second jaw, so that the first jaw and the second jaw can assume: a configuration ready to receive the toe of a ski boot, in which the first pin and the second pin are at a first distance from each other; and a configuration of toe of ski boot locked, in which: the first pin and the second pin are at a second distance from each other, which is smaller than the first distance; the first pin is inserted into the first side hole of the toe of the ski boot; and the second pin is inserted into the second side hole of the toe of the ski boot; an actuation lever that is rotatably coupled with the base and that is connected to the joint, so that starting from the configuration of toe of ski boot locked, a rotation of the actuation lever in a first direction of rotation determines the release of the toe of the ski boot from the first pin and from the second pin, thus reaching the configuration ready to receive the toe of a ski boot; a slider that is slidable with respect to the base to assume a forward position, with respect to the tip of a ski when the base is fixed to the ski, and a rearward position, with respect to the tip of a ski when the base is fixed to the ski; a service lever that at a corresponding intermediate portion is rotatably coupled with the actuation lever and that is designed such that starting from the configuration of toe of ski boot locked a first rotation of the service lever in a second direction of rotation brings a first end of the service lever to abut the base, so that the same service lever assumes a first stable position in which the user can walk uphill; a first locking element that: comprises a second intermediate portion, a first end of the locking element and a second end of the locking element that is opposed to the first end of the locking element with respect to the second intermediate portion; at the second intermediate portion it is rotatably coupled to the base; at the first end of the locking element it is provided with a first locking portion to lock a first side portion of the toe of the ski boot; at the second end of the locking element it is constrained to the slider, so that a translation of the slider towards the forward position determines a rotation of the first locking element such that the first locking portion can lock the first side portion of the toe of the ski boot and that a translation of the slider towards the rearward position determines an opposite rotation of the first locking element such that the first locking portion can disengage from the first side portion of the toe of the ski boot; a second locking element that: comprises a third intermediate portion, a third end of the locking element and a fourth end of the locking element that is opposed to the third end of the locking element with respect to the third intermediate portion; at the third intermediate portion it is rotatably coupled to the base; at the third end of the locking element it is provided with a second locking portion to lock a second side portion of the toe of the ski boot, which is opposed to the first side portion of the toe of the ski boot; at the fourth end of the locking element it is constrained to the slider, so that a translation of the slider towards the forward position determines a rotation of the second locking element such that the second locking portion can lock the second side portion of the toe of the ski boot and that a translation of the slider towards the rearward position determines an opposite rotation of the second locking element such that the second locking portion disengages from the second side portion of the toe of the ski boot.
[0003] The service lever is designed such that from the configuration of toe of ski boot locked, and after the first rotation, a subsequent second rotation of the service lever in the same second direction of rotation brings the free first end of the service lever to move the slider towards the forward position at least until the first locking portion can lock the first side portion of the toe of the ski boot and the second locking portion can lock the second side portion of the toe of the ski boot, so that the same service lever assumes a second stable position in which the user can ski downhill in Telemark mode.
[0004] The objective of the present invention consists in modifying the prior-art Telemark binding, described above, in order to have a different downhill skiing experience in Telemark mode.
[0005] Said objective has been achieved through a Telemark binding for alpine skiing in accordance with claim 1.
[0006] Advantageously, the Telemark binding according to the present invention maintains the same ease of use as the prior-art one, because it allows to switch to the uphill walking configuration and, subsequently, to the downhill skiing configuration in Telemark mode through two successive rotations of one same lever (the service lever).

[0008] With reference to the attached drawing plates, a Telemark binding for alpine skiing, object of the present invention, has been generically indicated with (1), in which: it comprises a base (2) fixable to a ski (not illustrated); it comprises a first jaw (11) that is rotatably coupled with the base (2); it comprises a second jaw (12) that is opposed to the first jaw (11) and that is rotatably coupled with the base (2); it comprises a first pin (21) that is carried by the first jaw (11) and that is dimensioned to be inserted into a first side hole (not illustrated in the figures) made in the toe (3) of a ski boot (9); it comprises a second pin (22) that is carried by the second jaw (12) and that is dimensioned to be inserted into a second side hole (not illustrated in the figures) made in the toe (3) of the ski boot (9); the first jaw (11) and the second jaw (12) are arranged between them to assume: a configuration (A) ready to receive the toe (3) of a ski boot (9), in which the first pin (21) and the second pin (22) are at a first distance from each other; and a configuration (B) of the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked, in which: the first pin (21) and the second pin (22) are at a second distance from each other, which is smaller than the first distance; the first pin (21) is inserted into the first side hole of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9); and the second pin (22) is inserted into the second side hole of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9); it comprises an actuation lever (4) that is rotatably coupled with the base (2) and that is designed such that, starting from the configuration (B) of the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked, a rotation of the same actuation lever (4) in a first direction of rotation may determine the release (7) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9) from the first pin (21) and from the second pin (22), thus reaching the configuration (A) ready to receive the toe (3) of a ski boot (9); it comprises a slider (5) that is slidable with respect to the base (2) to assume a forward position (AP), with respect to the tip of a ski when the base (2) is fixed to the ski, and a rearward position (BP), with respect to the tip of a ski when the base (2) is fixed to the ski; it comprises a service lever (6) that at a corresponding intermediate portion is rotatably coupled with the actuation lever (4) (fig.3) and that is designed such that starting from the configuration (B) of the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked a first rotation of the service lever (6) in a second direction of rotation (R2) (figures 9, 20, 34) brings a first end (31) of the service lever (6) to abut the base (2), so that the same service lever (6) assumes a first position (FP) in which the user can walk uphill; it comprises a first hook (7) that is dimensioned to hook a rear protrusion (49) of the forefoot of the ski boot (9) that extends towards the heel (not illustrated in the figures) of the ski boot (9); it comprises a longitudinal member (8) that: is elastically extendable; on one side is connected to the first hook (7); on the other side is coupled to the slider (5); and is movable by the slider (5); the service lever (6) is designed such that from the configuration (B) of the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked, and after the first rotation, a subsequent second rotation of the service lever (6) in the same second direction of rotation (R2) brings the first end (31) of the service lever (6): to move the slider (5) towards the forward position (AP), at least until the first hook (7) can hook the rear protrusion (49) of the forefoot of the ski boot (9); and to abut the base (2), so that the same service lever (6) assumes a second position (SP) in which the user can ski downhill in Telemark mode.
[0009] The first end (31) of the service lever (6) may be rigid, and therefore slide on the base (2), or may be an idler roller, and therefore roll on the base (2). In any case, the first end (31) of the service lever (6) slides on the base (2).
[0010] The longitudinal member (8) may be rotatably coupled to the slider (5), as illustrated in the figures.
[0011] According to a first aspect of the invention (see from fig.13 onwards), the Telemark binding (1) comprises: a first locking element (40) that: comprises a first intermediate portion (41), a first end of the locking element (42) and a second end of the locking element (43) that is opposed to the first end of the locking element (42) with respect to the first intermediate portion (41); at the first intermediate portion (41) it is rotatably coupled to the base (2); at the first end of the locking element (42) it is provided with a first locking portion (44) to lock a first side portion (13) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9); at the second end of the locking element (43) it is constrained to the slider (5), so that a translation of the slider (5) towards the forward position (AP) determines a rotation of the first locking element (40) such that the first locking portion (44) can abut the first side portion (13) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9) and that a translation of the slider (5) towards the rearward position (BP) determines an opposite rotation of the first locking element (40) such that the first locking portion (44) can disengage from the first side portion (13) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9); it comprises a second locking element (50) that: comprises a second intermediate portion (51), a third end of the locking element (52) and a fourth end of the locking element (53) that is opposed to the third end of the locking element (52) with respect to the second intermediate portion (51); at the second intermediate portion (51) it is rotatably coupled to the base (2); at the third end of the locking element (52) it is provided with a second locking portion (54) to lock a second side portion (14) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9), which is opposed to the first side portion (13) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9); at the fourth end of the locking element (53) it is constrained to the slider (5), so that a translation of the slider (5) towards the forward position (AP) determines a rotation of the second locking element (50) such that the second locking portion (54) can abut the second side portion (14) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9) and that a translation of the slider (5) towards the rearward position (BP) determines an opposite rotation of the second locking element (50) such that the second locking portion (54) disengages from the second side portion (14) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9).
[0012] Furthermore, the first locking element (40) and the second locking element (50) are designed such that when the slider (5) is translated towards the forward position (AP), then the abutment of the first locking element (40) against the second side portion (14) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9) and the abutment of the second locking element (50) against the second side portion (14) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9) jointly determine the locking of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9) between the first locking element (40) and the second locking element (50).
[0013] According to a second aspect of the invention, the Telemark binding (1) comprises first elastic means (110) (see from fig.13 onwards, for example fig.15) that are interposed between the base (2) and the slider (5), to move the slider (5) towards the rearward position (BP) and thus keep the first hook (7) distanced from the rear protrusion (49) of the forefoot of the ski boot (9). Furthermore, the service lever (6) is designed such that from the configuration (B) of the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked, and after the first rotation, a subsequent second rotation of the service lever (6) in the same second direction of rotation (R2) brings the first end (31) of the service lever (6) to abut the slider (5) and to move the slider (5) against the action of the first elastic means (110).
[0014] The first elastic means (110) may comprise a spring.
[0015] According to a third aspect of the invention, the Telemark binding (1) comprises: joining means (15) that are connected to the first jaw (11) and to the second jaw (12); second elastic means (10) that are arranged to stabilize the position of the first jaw (11) and of the second jaw (12) to assume the configuration (A) ready to receive the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) and the configuration (B) of the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked. The actuation lever (4) is connected to the joining means (15) such that, starting from the configuration (B) of the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked, a rotation of the same actuation lever (4) in the first direction of rotation determines the release (7) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9) from the first pin (21) and from the second pin (22), thus reaching the configuration (A) ready to receive the toe (3) of a ski boot (9).
[0016] The joining means (15) may comprise a joint (15). The actuation lever (4) may therefore be connected to the joint (15) to determine the release (7) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9) from the first pin (21) and from the second pin (22).
[0017] The second elastic means (10) may comprise a plurality of springs that are interposed between the joint (15) and the first jaw (11) and between the joint (15) and the second jaw (12).
[0018] According to a fourth aspect of the invention (see from figure 24 onwards), the Telemark binding (1) comprises: first guide means (81, 82, 83, 84); a first carriage (71) that is carried by the slider (5) and that is slidable along the first guide means (81, 82, 83, 84); third elastic means (72) that are interposed between the first carriage (71) and the base (2), to move the first carriage (71) towards the first end (31) of the service lever (6); a first stop (73) that is carried by the base (2) and that is arranged to act as an end stop for the first carriage (71), against the action of the third elastic means (72), when the first jaw (11) and the second jaw (12) assume the configuration (A) ready to receive the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) and when the first jaw (11) and the second jaw (12) assume the configuration (B) of the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked and the service lever (6) makes the first rotation in the second direction of rotation (R2), reaching the first position (FP). The first stop (73) is also arranged such that the first carriage (71) disengages from it when the first jaw (11) and the second jaw (12) assume the configuration (B) of the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked and the service lever (6) makes the second rotation in the second direction of rotation (R2), with consequent movement of the slider (5) that pulls the first carriage (71), so that the same first carriage (71) can be moved by the third elastic means (72) towards the first end (31) of the service lever (6). The first carriage (71) is provided with a first abutment (74) to abut the first end (31) of the service lever (6) at least contributing to stabilize the service lever (6) in the second position (SP), when the first jaw (11) and the second jaw (12) assume the configuration (B) of the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked and the service lever (6) makes the second rotation in the second direction of rotation (R2).
[0019] The first stop (73) may be a wall that is an integral part of the base (2).
[0020] Preferably, the first abutment (74) forms a first inclined plane that is arranged so that only starting from a predetermined torque, applied to the service lever (6) to rotate the same service lever (6) in a direction opposite to the second direction of rotation (R2), is it possible for the first end (31) of the service lever (6) to travel along the first inclined plane until the service lever (6) again reaches the first position (FP).
[0021] Preferably, the first carriage (71) and the slider (5) together form at least one seat (75, 76) to receive the third elastic means (72). The at least one seat (75, 76), see in particular figures 39, 40, comprises a side wall which in turn comprises a first side wall portion (77) that is part of the first carriage (71) and a second side wall portion (78) that is part of the slider (5). The at least one seat (75, 76) also comprises: a first bottom portion (79) that is part of the first carriage (71) and on which the third elastic means (72) press, which in turn abut the base (2); and a second bottom portion (80) that is part of the slider (5). The second bottom portion (80) is more distant from the mouth (69) of the at least one seat (75, 76) than the first bottom portion (79), so that the second bottom portion (80) represents an end stop for the third elastic means (72).
[0022] According to a fifth aspect of the invention, the Telemark binding (1) comprises a first abutment unit; the first guide means (81, 82, 83, 84), the first carriage (71), the third elastic means (72), the first stop (73) are part of the first abutment unit; the first abutment unit is arranged on a first side of the slider (5), see fig.39; the Telemark binding (1) comprises a second abutment unit which is like the first abutment unit and which is arranged on a second side of the slider (5), which is opposed to the first side of the slider (5), see fig.41, to cooperate jointly with the first abutment unit.
[0023] In other words, the second abutment unit may comprise: second guide means (35, 36, 37, 38); a second carriage (86) that is carried by the slider (5) and that is slidable along the second guide means (35, 36, 37, 38); fourth elastic means (87) that are interposed between the second carriage (86) and the base (2), to move the second carriage (86) towards the first end (31) of the service lever (6); a second stop (88) that is carried by the base (2) and that is arranged to act as an end stop for the second carriage (86), against the action of the fourth elastic means (87), when the first jaw (11) and the second jaw (12) assume the configuration (A) ready to receive the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) and when the first jaw (11) and the second jaw (12) assume the configuration (B) of the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked and the service lever (6) makes the first rotation in the second direction of rotation (R2), reaching the first position (FP). The second stop (88) is also arranged such that the second carriage (86) disengages from it when the first jaw (11) and the second jaw (12) assume the configuration (B) of the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked and the service lever (6) makes the second rotation in the second direction of rotation (R2), with consequent movement of the slider (5) that pulls the second carriage (86), so that the same second carriage (86) can be moved by the fourth elastic means (87) towards the first end (31) of the service lever (6). The second carriage (86) is provided with a second abutment (89) to abut the first end (31) of the service lever (6), contributing to stabilize the service lever (6) in the second position (SP), when the first jaw (11) and the second jaw (12) assume the configuration (B) of the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked and the service lever (6) makes the second rotation in the second direction of rotation (R2).
[0024] The second stop (88) may be a wall that is an integral part of the base (2).
[0025] Preferably, the second abutment (89) forms a second inclined plane that is arranged so that only starting from a second predetermined torque, applied to the service lever (6) to rotate the same service lever (6) in a direction opposite to the second direction of rotation (R2), is it possible for the first end (31) of the service lever (6) to travel along the first inclined plane and the second inclined plane until the service lever (6) again reaches the first position (FP). The first predetermined torque may be different from the second predetermined torque.
[0026] Preferably, the second carriage (86) and the slider (5) together form at least one further seat (85, 90) to receive the third elastic means (72). The at least one further seat (85, 90) comprises a side wall which in turn comprises a first side wall portion (77) that is part of the second carriage (86) and a second side wall portion (78) that is part of the slider (5). The at least one further seat (85, 90) also comprises: a first bottom portion (79) that is part of the second carriage (86) and on which the fourth elastic means (87) press, which in turn abut the base (2); and a second bottom portion (80) that is part of the slider (5). The second bottom portion (80) is more distant from the mouth (69) of the at least one further seat (85, 90) than the first bottom portion (79), so that the second bottom portion (80) represents an end stop for the fourth elastic means (87).
[0027] Preferably (fig.29), the base (2) comprises a first base wall (45) and a second base wall (46) that is opposed to the first base wall (45); the front portion of the slider (5), with respect to the tip of a ski when the base (2) is fixed to the ski, is arranged between the first base wall (45) and the second base wall (46); the first base wall (45) forms a first sliding track (47); the second base wall (46) forms a second sliding track (48); the first base wall (45) and the second base wall (46) are arranged so that the first sliding track (47) and the second sliding track (48) slidingly receive the first end (31) of the service lever (6) when the service lever (6) performs the first rotation in the second direction of rotation (R2) and when the service lever (6) performs the second rotation in the second direction of rotation (R2).
[0028] The slider (5) may be provided with a second hook (7) to be hooked by the first end (31) of the service lever (6).
[0029] Preferably, the slider (5) has one degree of freedom.
[0030] Preferably, the slider (5) is slidable with respect to the base (2) to move along a direction that is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the ski when the base (2) is fixed to the ski.
[0031] The actuation lever (4) may be rotatably coupled to the base (2) at a corresponding intermediate portion (fig.3).
[0032] The longitudinal member (8) may be elastically extendable from a predetermined length.
[0033] The longitudinal member (8) may be arranged to slide on the ski when the base (2) is fixed to the ski and when the slider (5) moves the same longitudinal member (8).

[0037] The longitudinal member (8) may also comprise a second extension unit (20, 28, 33) which is like the first extension unit (19, 27, 32) and which is arranged beside the first extension unit (19, 27, 32).
[0038] In other words, the second extension unit (20, 28, 33) may comprise (see fig.6B): a second rod (20) which at a third rod end (103) is rotatably coupled with the slider (5) and which at a fourth rod end (104), opposite to the third rod end (103), is provided with a fifth abutment (25); a second tubular element (28) that slidably receives inside it the second rod (20) (fig.4), that is also fixed to the first hook (7) and to the first tubular element (27), and that at its end facing the third rod end (103) is provided with a wall that: forms a sixth abutment (26) (fig.6B) and is provided with a second through hole (30) to allow the sliding of the second rod (20) towards the outside; sixth elastic means (33) that are interposed between the fifth abutment (25) and the sixth abutment (26), so that the axial distance between the third rod end (103) that is rotatably coupled with the slider (5) and the first hook (7) can vary due to the elastic action of the sixth elastic means (33).
[0039] In particular, the sixth elastic means (33) may be arranged to oppose a movement away of the first hook (7) with respect to the third rod end (103) that is rotatably coupled with the slider (5).
[0040] Referring again to the first aspect of the invention, the Telemark binding (1) may comprise a pin (39) to constrain the second end of the locking element (43) to the slider (5) and to constrain the fourth end of the locking element (53) to the slider (5). As shown in fig.17, the base (2) may be provided with at least one hole (preferably two concentric holes, one of which is a through hole and the other is a blind hole) through which the pin (39) may pass. [0055] The illustrated embodiments are described below.
[0056] The first embodiment of figures 1-12 is now described.
[0057] The first embodiment incorporates the third aspect of the invention.
[0058] Figures 1-6 show the Telemark binding (1) in a configuration (A) ready to receive the toe (3) of a ski boot (9). The slider (5) comprises a third hook (18) that faces the second hook (7) and that is abutted, on one side, by the actuation lever (4) and, on the other side, by the first end (31) of the service lever (6); therefore, the slider (5) is stably in the rearward position (BP).
[0059] Figures 7-9 show the Telemark binding (1) in a configuration (B) with the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked and after the service lever (6) has made the first rotation in the second direction of rotation (R2), so that the first end (31) of the service lever (6) abuts the base (2) and so that the same service lever (6) assumes the first position (FP) in which the user can walk uphill. The slider (5) is still in the rearward position (BP), because the first end (31) of the service lever (6) has not moved the slider (5), and the first hook (7) is still disengaged from the rear protrusion (49) of the forefoot of the ski boot (9).
[0060] The slider (5) comprises an abutment tooth (34).
[0061] The portion of the actuation lever (4) that faces the joint (15) abuts the abutment tooth (34), while the first end (31) of the service lever (6) abuts the second hook (7), so that the slider (5) is stably kept in the rearward position (BP).
[0062] Figures 10-12 show the Telemark binding (1) in a configuration (B) with the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked and after the service lever (6) has also made the second rotation in the second direction of rotation (R2), sliding on the base (2), which has caused the first end (31) of the service lever (6) to move the slider (5) to the forward position (AP), so that the first hook (7) is hooked to the rear protrusion (49) of the forefoot of the ski boot (9). The service lever (6) thus assumes the second position (SP), in which the user can ski downhill in Telemark mode. The slider (5) is stably maintained in the forward position (AP) because, on one side, the first hook (7) is hooked to the rear protrusion (49) of the forefoot of the ski boot (9), and, on the other side, the first end (31) of the service lever (6) stably abuts the base (2) (in particular the first sliding track (47) and the second sliding track (48)).
[0063] The second embodiment of figures 13-23 is now described.
[0064] The second embodiment incorporates the first aspect of the invention, the second aspect of the invention, and the third aspect of the invention.
[0065] Figures 13-17 show the Telemark binding (1) in a configuration (A) ready to receive the toe (3) of a ski boot (9). The slider (5) is subjected to the action of the first elastic means (110) that tend to move it into the rearward position (BP); in this rearward position (BP) the slider (5) stably remains, being unable to move further backward due to the abutment of the first locking element (40) against a first sector of the base (16) and the abutment of the second locking element (50) against a second sector of the base (17) (see specifically figure 14): indeed, the first sector of the base (16) prevents the first locking element (40) from further rotating and the second sector of the base (17) prevents the second locking element (50) from further rotating, which overall prevents the slider (5) from moving further backward.
[0066] Figures 18-20 show the Telemark binding (1) in a configuration (B) with the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked and after the service lever (6) has made the first rotation in the second direction of rotation (R2), so that the first end (31) of the service lever (6) abuts the base (2) and that the same service lever (6) assumes the first position (FP) in which the user can walk uphill. The slider (5) is still in the rearward position (BP), because the first end (31) of the service lever (6) has not moved the slider (5), and the first hook (7) is still disengaged from the rear protrusion (49) of the forefoot of the ski boot (9).
[0067] The slider (5) therefore stably remains in the rearward position (BP).
[0068] Since the slider (5) is in the rearward position (BP), the first locking element (40) and the second locking element (50) remain stationary (see figures 14 and 19) and therefore do not engage respectively the first lateral portion (13) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9) and the second lateral portion (14) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9).
[0069] Figures 21-23 show the Telemark binding (1) in a configuration (B) with the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked and after the service lever (6) has also made the second rotation in the second direction of rotation (R2), which has brought the first end (31) of the service lever (6) to move the slider (5) into the forward position (AP), against the action of the first elastic means (110), so that the first hook (7) is hooked to the rear protrusion (49) of the forefoot of the ski boot (9).
[0070] The first locking element (40) and the second locking element (50) are rotated (see figures 18, 19 on the one hand, and figures 21, 22 on the other), engaging respectively the first lateral portion (13) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9) and the second lateral portion (14) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9) until the toe (3) of the ski boot (9) is locked.
[0071] The third embodiment of figures 24-38 is now described.
[0072] The third embodiment incorporates the first aspect of the invention, the second aspect of the invention, the third aspect of the invention, the fourth aspect of the invention, and the fifth aspect of the invention.
[0073] Figures 24-30 show the Telemark binding (1) in a configuration (A) ready to receive the toe (3) of a ski boot (9). The slider (5) is subjected to the action of the first elastic means (110) that tend to move it into the rearward position (BP); in this rearward position (BP) the slider (5) remains stably, being unable to move further backward due to the abutment of the first locking element (40) against a first sector of the base (16) and the abutment of the second locking element (50) against a second sector of the base (17), as already explained above with reference to the second embodiment and to figure 14.
[0074] With the slider (5) in the rearward position (BP), the first stop (73) and the second stop (88) abut the first portion of the sixth carriage face (96) of the first carriage (71) and the first portion of the twelfth carriage face (62) of the second carriage (86), preventing respectively the first abutment (74) and the second abutment (89) from moving towards the first end (31) of the service lever (6), see figure 27.
[0075] Figures 31-34 show the Telemark binding (1) in a configuration (B) with the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked and after the service lever (6) has made the first rotation in the second direction of rotation (R2), so that the first end (31) of the service lever (6) abuts the base (2) and that the same service lever (6) assumes the first position (FP) in which the user can walk uphill. The slider (5) is still in the rearward position (BP), because the first end (31) of the service lever (6) has not moved the slider (5), and the first hook (7) is still disengaged from the rear protrusion (49) of the forefoot of the ski boot (9).
[0076] The slider (5) therefore remains stably in the rearward position (BP).
[0077] Since the slider (5) is in the rearward position (BP), the first locking element (40) and the second locking element (50) remain stationary (compare figures 25 and 32) and therefore do not abut respectively the first lateral portion (13) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9) and the second lateral portion (14) of the toe (3) of the ski boot (9).
[0078] Also in this case, with the slider (5) in the rearward position (BP), the first stop (73) and the second stop (88) abut the first part of the sixth carriage face (96) of the first carriage (71) and the first part of the twelfth carriage face (62) of the second carriage (86), thus preventing respectively the first abutment (74) and the second abutment (89) from moving towards the first end (31) of the service lever (6), see figure 34.
[0079] Figures 35-38 show the Telemark binding (1) in a configuration (B) with the toe (3) of a ski boot (9) locked and after the service lever (6) has also made the second rotation in the second direction of rotation (R2), which has brought the first end (31) of the service lever (6) to move the slider (5) into the forward position (AP), against the action of the first elastic means (110), so that the first hook (7) is hooked to the rear protrusion (49) of the forefoot of the ski boot (9). The service lever (6) thus assumes the second position (SP), in which the user can ski downhill in Telemark mode. The slider (5) is stably maintained in the forward position (AP) because, on one side, the first hook (7) is hooked to the rear protrusion (49) of the forefoot of the ski boot (9), and, on the other side, the first end (31) of the service lever (6) stably abuts both the base (2) (in particular the first sliding track (47) and the second sliding track (48)) and the first abutment (74) and the second abutment (89).
[0080] In fact, with the slider (5) in the forward position (AP), the first stop (73) and the second stop (88) no longer abut the first part of the sixth carriage face (96) of the first carriage (71) and the first part of the twelfth carriage face (62) of the second carriage (86), so that the first abutment (74) and the second abutment (89) can move towards the first end (31) of the service lever (6), pushed respectively by the third elastic means (72) and by the fourth elastic means (87), see figure 38.
[0081] It is understood that what is described above is by way of example and not limitation, therefore any constructional variants are to be considered within the protective scope of the present technical solution, as claimed below.
