Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a training device for muscle building with a first actuating element for lifting a first weight block and a second actuating element for lifting a second weight block, wherein the second weight block is movable independently between a lowered starting position and a raised position relative to the first weight block.

[0002] With conventional weight training equipment, the user sets a specific training weight before beginning the exercise. This is done, for example, by inserting a locking pin into a weight plate register, as with the widely used selectorized weight machines, or by placing weight plates on the machine, as with plate-loaded machines. The user then performs a specific number of repetitions with this selected weight.

[0003] A disadvantage of such training devices is that after a predetermined number of repetitions, the increasingly fatigued muscles can no longer lift the set weight, and for high-intensity training, the weight must be adjusted. The weight setting on the training device must be changed manually, which is not possible without interrupting the exercise and is comparatively time-consuming.

[0004] It is therefore an object of the present invention to create a training device for muscle building that enables intensive training with variable weight load.

[0005] This task is solved with a training device having the features of claim 1.

[0006] The training device according to the invention for muscle building comprises a first actuating element for lifting a first weight block and a second actuating element for lifting a second weight block, wherein the second weight block is movable relative to the first weight block between a lowered starting position and a raised position, wherein the first weight block can be coupled to the second weight block and the first weight block can be moved together with the second weight block via the first actuating element. This allows the user to selectively lift either only the first weight block or the combined weight of the first and second weight blocks via the first actuating element.During a training session, the user can initially train with the combined weight of the first and second weight blocks. After a certain number of repetitions, the user can activate the second control mechanism to lift the second weight block, thus decoupling it from the first. This removes the weight of the second block, allowing the trainee to perform further movements using only the first. This type of high-intensity, single-weight training offers flexibility, enhancing training effectiveness.

[0007] Preferably, a support surface is provided on the first weight block, by means of which the second weight block can be lifted. The coupling of the first and second weight blocks is thus achieved via this support surface, on which the second weight block rests. Optionally, the support surface can be unloaded when both the first and second weight blocks are in their lowered position, or it can be positioned in a gap between the first and second weight blocks. Only when the first weight block is lifted is the second weight block lifted via this support surface. This ensures that the coupling or engagement of the second weight block always occurs when the first weight block moves from its lowered to its raised position. This coupling is mechanical and therefore independent of electronic controls.Instead of coupling via a support surface, another connecting element can be used, for example, a fastening element that connects two pull elements, each of which can alternatively consist of a pull rope, belt, or chain. These are coupled in such a way that, as with the previously described "support surface principle," the second weight block can be lifted and thus decoupled by a second actuating element, independently of the first weight block. This means that only one of the two weight blocks is moved and thus effective as a training weight. Preferably, in the lifted position, the corresponding pull element is pre-tensioned into a taut position by a spring.

[0008] For a compact design, the first weight block is preferably arranged vertically below the second weight block. The weight blocks can be guided along guides, for example rods, particularly in the vertical direction.

[0009] The first weight block and / or the second weight block can comprise several individual weights, each connected by a connecting rod and a locking bar. This allows the weight of the first weight block and the weight of the second weight block to be individually adjusted, provided each weight block includes a connecting rod and several individual weights, and the desired number of individual weights can be fixed to the connecting rod by at least one locking bar. The individual weights can be, for example, metal weight plates. Each weight block is formed by the connecting rod and the individual weights fixed to it.In the lowered position, the connecting rod preferably dips into a bearing formed from individual weights, so that by pulling out the bolt and inserting the bolt into an individual weight of the bearing, the weight of the respective weight block can be increased in order to individually adjust the training weight.

[0010] Preferably, the first weight block comprises a first connecting rod to which one or more individual weights are attached, wherein a second connecting rod of the second weight block can be supported in a raised position via the first connecting rod of the first weight block. This allows the force to be transmitted directly via the two connecting rods, preferably centrally, with an upper end face of the first connecting rod forming the support surface. Optionally, damping elements can be provided between the two connecting rods to prevent noise. The first connecting rod of the first weight block can be routed through a bearing of individual weights for the second weight block. This allows the bearing of individual weights to selectively hold either the second connecting rod in the lowered position of the second weight block or the first connecting rod in the raised position.

[0011] The first connecting rod is preferably connected to the first actuating element via a cable, belt, chain, and / or lever. The transmission mechanism may also include multiple levers, cables, or pulleys, depending on the type of training device. The second connecting rod may also be connected to the second actuating element via a cable and / or lever or other mechanisms.

[0012] Preferably, the first actuating element is designed as a hand lever and serves to train the arm muscles. The second actuating element can include a foot pedal, allowing the second weight stack to be lifted via the second actuating element. It is also possible, of course, to design the first actuating element as a foot lever or foot pedal and the second actuating element as a hand lever or pulley. Furthermore, the training device can also have two first actuating elements or two second actuating elements.

[0013] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an exemplary embodiment and the accompanying drawings. These show: Figure 1 is a perspective view of a training device according to the invention; Figure 2 is a view of the training device with a person in the starting position; Figure 3 is a view of the training device of the Figure 2 after a movement of the first actuating element; Figure 4 a view of the weight blocks of the training device in the position to Figure 2 Figure 5 shows a view of the weight blocks of the training device in the position of Figure 3 Figure 6 shows a view of the training device. Figure 1 after a movement of the second actuating element; Figure 7 a view of the training device after Figure 6 after the movement of the first and second actuating elements; Figure 8 a view of the weight blocks in the position of the Figure 6 , and Figure 9, a view of the weight blocks in the position of the Figure 7 .

[0014] A training device 1 comprises a frame 2 with a seat 3 for one person, wherein the training device 1 includes an armrest 4 on which a first actuating element 5 in the form of a hand lever is movably mounted. The actuating element 5 is pivotally mounted on a lever 6. Via the actuating element 5, a first weight block 7 can be raised via the lever 6 and a further transmission mechanism.

[0015] The frame 2 of the training device 1 is further equipped with a second actuating element 8 in the form of a foot pedal, which, via a transmission mechanism, can move a second weight block 9 located above the first weight block 7. The weight blocks 7 and 9 are arranged next to the seat 3, so that the person exercising can adjust the number of individual weights on the first weight block 7 and the second weight block 9.

[0016] Below the first weight block 7 is a storage unit 12 containing individual weights, which can optionally be coupled to the first weight block 7. Below the weight block 9 is also a storage unit 11 containing individual weights, which can optionally be coupled to the second weight block 9.

[0017] In Figure 2 A figure, depicted in outline, sits on seat 3 and grasps the first operating element 5, which is in its starting position. The feet are not in contact with the second operating element 8, which is also in its starting position. The first weight block 7 and the second weight block 9 are therefore in the lowered position.

[0018] In Figure 3The first actuating element 5 was pivoted by an arm movement of the trainee, so that, via the lever 6 and a further actuating mechanism, the first weight block 7 was moved from the lowered position to a raised position. The movement of the first weight block 7 coupled with the second weight block 9, which was thereby also moved to a raised position. The second actuating element 8 is in its starting position. The movement of the second weight block 9 also moved a cable pulley 13 or flat belt, which can be kept under tension, for example, by a spring element.

[0019] In the Figures 4 and 5 Are the two weight blocks 7 and 9 in the two positions of the Figures 2 and 3The first weight block 7 consists of a connecting rod 18 and several individual weights 20, which can be coupled to one another via a latch 15, for example, a latch that can be inserted through the individual weights 20 and the connecting rod 18. The latch 15 is located in one of the individual weights 20, and the individual weights 20 arranged above it thus belong to the first weight block 7. The individual weights 20 arranged below it belong to a bearing 12 of individual weights, which remains stationary.

[0020] The second weight block 9 also includes a second connecting rod 14, to which one or more individual weights 20 can be fixed via a bar 15. The individual weights 20 below the bar 15 form a bearing 11 of individual weights 20, which the user can optionally add to the second weight block 9. The bearing 11 of individual weights 20 is supported on a bracket 17 of the frame 2.

[0021] In Figure 4 The first weight block 7 and the second weight block 9 are in the lowered position, supported on the bearing 11 and 12 respectively. When the first actuating element 5 is pivoted, as shown in Figure 3 As shown, a cable 21 is pulled, which is guided around a pulley 22 on the connecting rod 18. The cable 21 is fixed at one end 23 to the bracket 17, so that, due to the U-shaped deflection at the pulley 22, the connecting rod 18 is raised when the cable 21 is pulled, as shown in Figure 5 This is shown. This also moves the first weight view 7 from the lowered position to a raised position.

[0022] The connecting rod 18 has a support surface 19 on its upper side, as shown in Figure 4This is shown. In the starting position, the support surface 19 can be spaced apart from the second connecting rod 14 for the second weight block 9 by a gap. Optionally, the support surface 19 can also be connected to the second connecting rod 14 without a gap via an elastic damping element. When the first connecting rod 18 with the first weight block is lifted, the second connecting rod 14 is also lifted over the support surface 19, so that the training movement moves both the first weight block 7 and the second weight block 9. The individual weights 20 of the weight blocks 7 and 9, as well as the bearings 11 and 12, are preferably guided on guide rods 16, which are fixed, in particular vertically, to a frame 10 for the weight unit.

[0023] After a predetermined number of movements, the trainee's arm muscles may relax, so that the combined weight from the first weight block 7 and the second weight block 9 can no longer be lifted. The trainee can then pivot the second actuating element 8 with their foot, as described in Figure 6 As shown, pivoting the second actuating element 8 moves the second weight block 9 with the second connecting rod 14 from its starting position to a raised position via a transmission mechanism with a cable pull 13, without affecting the position of the first weight block 7. The second weight block 9 with the connecting rod 14 is thus moved away from the connecting rod 18.

[0024] In this position, the trainee can now pivot the first actuating element 5 again, as described in Figure 7As shown, to move the first actuating element 5 and the lever 6, only the weight of the first weight block 7 needs to be lifted, which is then moved from the lowered position to the raised position, without the weight of the second weight block 9 bearing down on the first weight block 7. The training session can thus be extended with reduced weight.

[0025] In the Figures 8 and 9 Are the weight blocks according to the Figure 6 and 7 shown. In Figure 8 The second weight block 9 was moved via the second actuating element accordingly. Figure 6The first connecting rod 14 is raised, and it can be seen that it is now vertically spaced from the first connecting rod 18. When the first actuating element 5 is moved with the lever 6 and pulls the cable 21, this moves the connecting rod 18 upwards via the pulley 22 and raises the first weight block 7 into a raised position, whereby the upper support surface 19 on the connecting rod 18 remains disengaged and no weight of the first connecting rod 14 rests on it. This allows the training session to be extended using only the weight of the first weight block 7 without having to raise the second weight block 9 as well. After training the arm muscles with only the first weight block 7, the first actuating element 5 and the second actuating element 8 can then be moved back to their starting positions.

[0026] In the illustrated embodiment, the training device 1 has only one first actuating element 5 in the form of a hand lever and one second actuating element 8 in the form of a foot pedal. It is, of course, also possible to provide two first actuating elements, for example, two hand levers, and two second actuating elements, for example, two foot pedals. Furthermore, the first actuating element can be used for training the leg muscles, and the second actuating element can be designed for hand operation. Reference symbol list
