[0007] First, a description will be given of a configuration of a strap 100 and a watch 150 with reference to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2.
[0008] As shown in FIG. 1, the strap 100 is formed of a first strap 10, a second strap 15, and a clasp 35 that couples the first strap 10 and the second strap 15. The first strap 10 is attached to one end side of a watch body 1 (refer to FIG. 2). The second strap 15 is attached to another end side of the watch body 1.
[0009] The clasp 35 is formed to have a cover member 30, an adjustment portion 80, a middle plate 31, and a lower plate 32. The clasp 35 is formed such that pressing buttons 33 provided on both side surfaces of the cover member 30 release a latch pin 41 and deploy and extend the clasp 35 as shown in FIG. 1.
[0010] As shown in FIG. 2, the end of the first strap 10 is coupled to bows 5 located at the 12 o'clock side of the watch 150. Similarly, the end of the second strap 15 is coupled to bows 6 located at the 6 o'clock side of the watch 150. In FIG. 2, the watch 150 is a three-hand analog watch, but may be any device that is worn on the wrist, for example, a digital watch or a smart watch, without being limited thereto.
[0011] As shown in FIG. 1, the first strap 10 is formed of a plurality of joined blocks 2 and the like. An end block 2b at the end of the first strap 10 is coupled to the adjustment portion 80 in the cover member 30 via a joining block 11. A description will be given below of the adjustment portion 80.
[0012] The second strap 15 is formed of a plurality of the joined blocks 2 and the like. An end block 2c at the end of the second strap 15 is coupled to one end of the lower plate 32. The lower plate 32 is provided with the latch pin 41. The other end of the lower plate 32 is coupled to one end of the middle plate 31. The other end of the middle plate 31 is coupled to one end of the cover member 30.
[0013] The lower plate 32 is rotatably joined to the end block 2c of the second strap 15 and one end of the middle plate 31. The middle plate 31 is rotatably joined to one end of the cover member 30 and the other end of the lower plate 32. The clasp 35 is formed to be able to switch between a state in which the cover member 30, the middle plate 31, and the lower plate 32 are folded in a Z-shape and a state in which the above are deployed and extended.
[0014] The cover member 30 is a buckle and has an overall curved shape in consideration of ease of wearing on the wrist. The cover member 30 is approximately rectangular in plan view and is arranged with the longitudinal direction thereof aligned with the extension direction of the first strap 10. The width of the cover member 30 in the transverse direction is approximately the same as the width of the first strap 10. In the folded state, the middle plate 31 and the lower plate 32 have a curve similar to that of the cover member 30 so as to follow the back surface of the cover member 30.
[0015] In a preferred example, each part forming the strap 100 is formed of titanium. The material is not limited to being titanium and may be any metal that is hard and has a good texture, for example, stainless steel, may be used.
[0016] Next, a description will be given of the configuration of the adjustment portion 80 with reference to FIG. 3 to FIG. 6. FIG. 3 is a transparent perspective view showing the configuration of the clasp 35. Springs 26 are not shown in FIG. 5 and FIG. 6.
[0017] As shown in FIG. 3, the adjustment portion 80 is formed to have a pair of rails 20 and 21, an adjustment block 72, a pressing portion 73, and an engaging pin 27 as an engaging portion.
[0018] The rail 20 is a rail-shaped member arranged along a side wall 30a of the cover member 30. One end of the rail 20 is provided with a through hole 20a (refer to FIG. 4) for joining with the middle plate 31. Another end of the rail 20 is provided with a fixing hole 20b (refer to FIG. 4) for fixing the rail 20 to the side wall 30a. Four length-adjusting grooves 29 are provided at equal intervals on the side of the fixing hole 20b as engaged portions.
[0019] The rail 21 is a member that pairs with the rail 20 and is arranged along a side wall 30b of the cover member 30. The rail 21 has the same configuration as the rail 20. More specifically, one end of the rail 21 is provided with a through hole 21a (refer to FIG. 4) for joining with the middle plate 31 and another end is provided with a fixing hole 21b (refer to FIG. 4) for fixing the rail 21 to the side wall 30b. The rail 21 is also provided with the four length-adjusting grooves 29 as engaged portions.
[0020] As shown in FIG. 4, the adjustment block 72 is a joining portion and is provided with a protrusion 22a projecting toward the first strap 10 side and protrusions 72b and 72c branching into two on the opposite side to the protrusion 22a.
[0021] The protrusion 22a is provided with a through hole 4 for joining with the joining block 11. The adjustment block 72 is arranged between the rail 20 and the rail 21. In addition, the joining block 11, which couples the adjustment block 72 with the end block 2b of the first strap 10, is also formed to be approximately the same size as the adjustment block 72 (refer to FIG. 3). The joining block 11 is arranged between the rail 20 and the rail 21.
[0022] As shown in FIG. 4, in the protrusions 72b and 72c, portions that contact the pressing portion 73 are formed one step lower. The portions that are one step lower are first surfaces 76. The protrusions 72b and 72c are provided with through holes 28.
[0023] The pressing portion 73 is formed of a pressing case 74, a case 75, two of the springs 26, and the like. The pressing case 74 is provided with a storage portion 74a for storing the two springs 26 and a portion of the case 75. A long hole 74b which is an oval guide hole is formed in the storage portion 74a. The back side of the storage portion 74a is provided with a bottom surface 65 that is one step lower than the base portion of the pressing case 74.
[0024] As shown in FIG. 6, the bottom surface 65 of the pressing case 74 is provided with a groove 78 that fits with the engaging pin 27 (refer to FIG. 4). An island-shaped protrusion having the bottom surface 65 is stored in the storage portion 47 (refer to FIG. 4) between the two protrusions 72b and 72c of the adjustment block 72 (refer to FIG. 4). On both sides of the bottom surface 65, second surfaces 66 (refer to FIG. 6) are provided that are one step lower than the bottom surface 65. The two second surfaces 66 are portions corresponding to the two first surfaces 76 of the adjustment block 72.
[0025] As shown in FIG. 4, the springs 26 are elastic members and, in a preferred example, conical springs are used. The material of the springs 26 is, for example, a piano wire. Any material with which it is possible to obtain the necessary spring force may be used and, for example, hard steel wire or stainless steel wire may be used. By using a conical spring, it is possible to make the contact height during compression lower than with a normal coil spring and to form the pressing portion 73 and the adjustment portion 80 to be compact.
[0026] As shown in FIG. 6, the case 75 is provided with two mounting portions 77 for mounting the two springs 26. A shaft 75a is provided between the two mounting portions 77. The shaft 75a is a protrusion that stands upright from the base of the case 75. The planar shape of the shaft 75a is an oval. A long hole 68 through which the engaging pin 27 is inserted is provided in the side surface of the shaft 75a.
[0027] The shaft 75a is inserted into the long hole 74b of the pressing case 74. In a state where the shaft 75a is inserted, the engaging pin 27 is inserted into the long hole 68 of the shaft 75a. The length of the long hole 68 is set to a length that enables the springs 26 to expand and contract in a state where the engaging pin 27 is inserted. The shaft 75a plays the role of a guide member that makes the operation of the pressing case 74 smooth when the pressing case 74 moves up and down along with expansion and contraction operations of the springs 26.
[0028] Specifically, in a state where the two springs 26 are set on the two mounting portions 77 of the case 75, the case 75 and the pressing case 74 are combined to form the pressing portion 73, and then the pressing portion 73 is set in the storage portion 47 of the adjustment block 72 as shown in FIG. 4. In a state where the pressing portion 73 is held in the storage portion 47 of the adjustment block 72, the engaging pin 27 is inserted through the through hole 28 of the protrusion 72b, the long hole 68 of the shaft 75a, and the through hole 28 of the protrusion 72c, thereby integrating the pressing portion 73 and the adjustment block 72.
[0029] Next, a description will be given of a method for adjusting the length of the strap 100 with reference to FIG. 7 to FIG. 10.
[0030] As shown in FIG. 7, the bottom surface of the storage portion 74a is pressed down by the restoring force of the two springs 26 and the pressing portion 73 presses the engaging pin 27 fitted in the groove 78 of the bottom surface 65 (refer to FIG. 6). As shown in FIG. 8, when the clasp 35 is deployed, the adjustment block 72 does not stand up and is stored inside the cover member 30.
[0031] Specifically, the springs 26 bias the case 75 and the pressing case 74 in a direction away from each other, such that the second surfaces 66 of the pressing case 74 press the first surfaces 76 of the protrusions 72b and 72c of the adjustment block 72. This is because the end of the adjustment block 72 on the joining block 11 side is pressed against the cover member 30 side according to the principle of leverage. That is, the second surfaces 66 of the pressing case 74, the first surfaces 76 of the adjustment block 72, and the related mechanism function as a mechanism for preventing standing up.
[0032] As shown in FIG. 9, when adjusting the length of the strap 100, the first strap 10 is pulled downward of the cover member 30 in the deployed state. When the pulling force exceeds the pressing from the pressing portion 73, the tips of the protrusions 72b and 72c of the adjustment block 72 pry and push up the second surfaces 66 of the pressing case 74, such that the adjustment block 72 stands up.
[0033] When the adjustment block 72 is pushed toward the cover member 30 side in a state where the adjustment block 72 is standing up, the two springs 26 inside the pressing portion 73 are compressed and the engaging pin 27 is released from the groove 29 and enters a slidable state, as shown in FIG. 10.
[0034] In a state where the adjustment block 72 is pushed in, when the engaging pin 27 is moved up to the groove 29 at a position at a desired length from among the four grooves 29 to release the adjustment block 72, the engaging pin 27 fits with that groove 29. In other words, when adjusting the length of the strap 100, the adjustment block 72 is made to stand up with the clasp 35 in a deployed state and pushed toward the cover member 30 side.
[0035] In the present embodiment, the case 75 is formed of resin. In a preferred example, polyacetal resin (POM) is used. Without being limited to polyacetal resin, any resin with good sliding properties may be used, for example, MC nylon, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, Teflon (registered trademark) resin, or the like.
[0036] Next, a description will be given of the configuration of the inside of the cover member 30 in the clasp 35 with reference to FIG. 11.
[0037] As shown in FIG. 11, the case 75 is arranged inside the cover member 30. A colored resin is used for the case 75. The end surface of the shaft 75a of the case 75 is exposed at the center of the inside of the cover member 30. For example, when a red resin is used for the case 75, it is possible to decorate the inside of the cover member 30 with a red accent in an oval shape. The color tone may be selected as appropriate according to the design without being limited to red.
[0038] In addition, the rails 20 and 21 are exposed and arranged on the back surface side of the cover member 30. The rails 20 and 21 are provided with scale marks 200 that indicate the positions where the plurality of the grooves 29 engage with the engaging pin 27 (refer to FIG. 3). The pressing case 74 arranged inside the rails 20 and 21 is provided with indicators 300 that indicate the scale marks 200. A description will be given of specific examples of the scale marks 200 and the indicators 300.
[0039] As shown in FIG. 11, the clasp 35 has the cover member 30, an engaged portion, and a moving member. The engaged portion is arranged on the back surface side of the cover member 30 and is arranged at a fixed position with respect to the cover member 30. The engaged portion is, for example, a groove 29 provided in the rails 20 and 21.
[0040] The moving member is joined to the first strap 10 and is provided so as to be movable with respect to the cover member 30. The moving member is formed of the pressing portion 73 and the adjustment block 72 as a joining portion. In addition, the moving member also has the engaging pin 27 as an engaging portion. The engaging pin 27 is configured to selectively engage with any one of a plurality of the grooves 29.
[0041] As shown in FIG. 11, in a plan view seen from the back surface side of the cover member 30, the clasp 35 is provided with the scale marks 200 that indicate the positions where the plurality of grooves 29 engage with the engaging pin 27 (refer to FIG. 3). Specifically, the clasp 35 is arranged on the back surface side of the cover member 30 and has the rails 20 and 21 arranged along the longitudinal direction of the cover member 30. The scale marks 200 are formed on the rails 20 and 21.
[0042] The scale marks 200 include any of lines, marks, and numbers. The scale marks 200 in the present embodiment are lines. In addition, the scale marks 200 are provided at four positions corresponding to the grooves 29. The scale marks 200 are not limited to being provided at four positions and are desirably provided in accordance with the number of the grooves 29. The marks include, for example, "circles", "crosses", "triangles", and other shapes. The scale marks 200 are provided, for example, as recesses in the frame. The scale marks 200 may be flat without being limited to recesses.
[0043] The moving member is provided with the indicators 300 that indicate the scale marks 200. Specifically, the indicators 300 are provided on the base portion of the pressing case 74, which is visible from the back surface side of the cover member 30.
[0044] The indicators 300 include either lines or marks, similarly to the scale marks 200. The indicator 300 of the present embodiment is a triangular mark. There are two of the indicators 300, one indicating the scale marks 200 formed on the rail 20 and another indicating the scale marks 200 formed on the rail 21.
[0045] In this manner, the clasp 35 is provided with the scale marks 200 that indicate the positions where the grooves 29 and the engaging pin 27 engage, thus, when the user adjusts the length of the strap 100, it is possible for the user to determine at a glance which position of the grooves 29 the engaging pin 27 is engaged with. Thus, it is possible to easily adjust the length of the strap 100.
[0046] In addition, since the grooves 29 and the scale marks 200 are formed on the same rails 20 and 21, it is possible to eliminate misalignment between the grooves 29 and the scale marks 200. In addition, using lines or symbols for the scale marks makes it possible to carry out the forming by laser processing or the like and to carry out processing relatively easily.
[0047] In addition, since the indicators 300 are provided on the pressing case 74, which is the moving member, it is possible to adjust the indicators 300 and the scale marks 200 in correspondence with each other, which is easy to understand visually. In addition, using lines or symbols for the indicators 300 makes it possible to carry out the forming by laser processing or the like and to carry out processing relatively easily. In addition, it is easy to grasp the indicated positions.
[0048] Next, a description will be given of the configuration of the watch 150 with reference to FIG. 12 to FIG. 17. The same configurations as in FIG. 1 to FIG. 11 are assigned the same numbers.
[0049] As shown in FIG. 12, the watch 150 is provided with the strap 100. The strap 100 has the first strap 10 and the second strap 15. The first strap 10 is attached to one end side of the watch body 1. The second strap 15 is attached to another end side of the watch body 1.
