Abstract
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a laundry washing machine and to a method for dosing a laundry washing liquid in a laundry washing machineBACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] In typical devices for dosing the detergent in a laundry washing machine a mixture of water and detergent goes from a soap dispenser chamber through a soap dispenser-tub hose into the bottom of the tub. This mixture is at the beginning not in contact with the laundry, which consequently leads to a lower efficiency of the detergent during washing as if the detergent would be more uniformly distributed over the laundry and even from the beginning of the detergent dosing process. It is desired to improve the distribution of a mixture of detergent and water over the laundry during washing and to bring the laundry in contact with the mixture earlier during the washing and dosing programme which can improve also an efficiency of the washing performance.
[0003] Document EP 2902540 B1 describes a laundry washing machine having a laundry drum and a detergent basin suitable to hold a detergent. Further, a first supply valve is connectable to the water supply system, and a first supply conduit connecting the first supply valve in flow communication with the detergent basin so as to supply mains water in the detergent basin, a second conduit connecting the detergent basin in flow communication with the interior of the laundry drum and having one or more nozzles facing a front opening of the laundry drum. Further, pumping means are connected to the second supply conduit and actuatable for suctioning mains water along with the detergent from the detergent basin and for spraying, by means of said one or more nozzles, the suctioned mixture of water and detergent directly through said front opening into the laundry drum, wherein the pumping means comprise an ejector with a motor fluid inlet opening connectable to the water supply system, a suction opening and an outlet opening that are connected in the second conduit, wherein the motor fluid inlet opening of the ejector is connected to a third conduit branching directly from the first conduit in a branch point downstream of the first supply valve and upstream of the detergent basin. The branch point is directly connected to the first supply valve splitting into the first supply conduit and into the partial flow, wherein the flow through the first supply conduit and further through the basin and the partial flow are at least partly mixed again in the ejector.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] It is an object of the invention to improve dosing of a mixture of laundry washing detergent and / or laundry washing powder with water during washing of laundry in a laundry washing machine.
[0005] The object is solved by the subject-matter of the independent claims.
[0006] The present invention pertains to a laundry washing machine according to claim 1 and to a method for dosing a laundry washing liquid in a laundry washing machine according to claim 9.
[0007] Preferred embodiments are subject of the dependent claims.
[0008] According to the invention the laundry washing machine comprises a first inlet valve which is connectable to a water supply system; a second inlet valve which is connectable to the water supply system; a dispenser device having a prewash chamber and a main wash chamber, wherein the main wash chamber is in fluid connection with the first inlet valve and the prewash chamber is in fluid connection with the second inlet valve. Further, the laundry washing machine comprises a washing tub with a washing drum inside the washing tub and a first conduit which provides a fluid connection between the prewash chamber and the washing tub; a fluid recirculation means having a fluid recirculation conduit which is in fluid connection with a bottom region of the washing tub and with a top region of the washing drum and the fluid recirculation means further comprising a venturi valve which is connected into the fluid recirculation conduit between the bottom region of the washing tub and the top region of the washing drum and a pumping device for pumping a fluid through the fluid recirculation conduit from the bottom region of the washing tub to the top region of the washing drum and through the venturi valve and at least one dispensing nozzle which is connected to the fluid recirculation conduit and projecting into the top region of the washing drum for dispensing the fluid from the fluid recirculation conduit into the washing drum; a second conduit which provides a fluid connection between the main wash chamber and the venturi valve. Further, the laundry washing machine comprises a controller which is configured to execute a detergent dispensing process into the washing tub and / or washing drum such that at the beginning water is filled as the fluid to the bottom region of the washing tub by opening the second inlet valve and afterwards the fluid is pumped by the pumping device through the fluid recirculation conduit and as supplementary step the first inlet valve is opened and a mixture of detergent and water is sucked from the main wash chamber through the second conduit and into the venturi valve by the venturi effect from the pumped fluid in the fluid recirculation conduit and additionally mixed with water inside the fluid recirculation conduit and dispensed by at the least one dispensing nozzle into the washing drum.
[0009] The fluid recirculation conduit can have one or several pipes and / or hoses which can be stacked together to form a continuous conduit between the bottom region of the washing tub and the top region of the washing drum. The venturi valve can be an integral piece and can be connected between two adjacent parts of the fluid recirculation conduit (between two hoses and / or pipes). Further, at the place of the venturi valve the second conduit can be connected to the venturi valve and thereby to the fluid recirculation conduit.
[0010] When applying the configuration and process as mentioned in the invention it can be achieved that the mixture of water and detergent can go directly into the laundry from the beginning of a washing programme what can further improve washing efficiency and reduce detergent usage. Further, it can be achieved that detergents from the main wash chamber can be better dissolved (and provided as mixture with water on the laundry). The distribution can be improved by a dispensing nozzle (or more of them) which is placed above a top and central region of the washing drum. Further, the washing efficiency can be improved with such a better distribution of the mixture and thereby a better energy class of the laundry washing machine can be reached since the washing effect can be improved and less energy needed due to shorter washing programmes and the required heat lowered (which can both be automatically adjusted by the controller).
[0011] Both inlet valves are connected to a water supply system and in fluid communication with a dispenser device which then forms a detergent supply system to the washing drum. The water supply system can be for example a water source in a building. In an operating state the laundry washing machine can be connected to a hose or pipe of such a source of water. In the sense of the invention a fluid connection can be represented by a connection to a hose or a pipe or some other types of conduits. In other words, all "conduits" in the sense of the invention can be considered as a hose or pipe or similar.
[0012] The washing drum can be rotatably supported inside the washing tub.
[0013] The proposed invention relates to the field of washing machines and more specifically to soap dispenser in washing machines
[0014] The dispenser device can have a housing, for example with a drawer, in which the main wash chamber can represent a soap / detergent dispenser. By means of the venturi valve and the provided venturi effect a dosing of a mixture of water and detergent can be achieved due to the fluid recirculation through the fluid recirculation conduit. The pumping device can comprise a JET pump.
[0015] The dosing of a mixture of detergent (liquid and / or powder detergent) and water can be done for example in three steps. In a first step, the second inlet valve (in fluid connection with prewash chamber) needs to be opened such that water goes through the prewash chamber directly (for example over a soap dispenser-tub hose) into the tub bottom. In a subsequent second step, the second inlet valve can be closed and then the pumping device, for example the JET pump, can start working and circulate the water (washing fluid) from the tub bottom by the fluid recirculation conduit, for example the JET hose, through the venturi valve directly by the dispensing nozzle into the laundry inside of washing drum. In a last step, the first inlet valve can be opened and fills mains water into the main wash chamber, into which a certain amount of detergent has previously been introduced (automatically or by a user).. This mixture of water and detergent goes through the second conduit (venturi hose) and the venturi valve together with circulated washing liquid from the tub bottom by the dispensing nozzle directly to the laundry inside the washing drum.
[0016] Such a system and process can improve and accelerate the physical contact between the water / detergent mixture and the laundry and can speed up the cleaning reaction of the laundry fabric and consequently improve the washing efficiency. With this principle the amount of detergent used can be reduced as well.
[0017] The fluid recirculation conduit can be guided between the bottom region of the washing tub and top region of the washing drum and in particular inside the washing machine but outside the washing tub.
[0018] The venturi valve can be connected into the fluid recirculation conduit which means that it can be integrated into the main flow path as component of the recirculation conduit itself (and forming a part of it). Therefore, hoses or pipes of the fluid recirculation conduit can be connected to different junctions of the venturi valve.
[0019] The dispensing nozzle can be connected to an upper end (at the top region of the washing drum) of the fluid recirculation conduit.
[0020] The detergent dispensing process can be performed during a washing programme.
[0021] A significant additional mixing of detergent (liquid and / or powder detergent) and water happens after combining both fluid paths within the venturi valve and / or when exiting the fluid recirculation conduit through the dispensing nozzle.
[0022] According to a further embodiment of the laundry washing machine the main wash chamber is configured to receive the detergent by automatic and / or by manual input.
[0023] According to a further embodiment of the laundry washing machine the dispenser device comprises a separation wall between the main wash chamber and the prewash chamber separating the main wash chamber and the prewash chamber fully or up to a predefined height.
[0024] By the invention it is achieved to fully separate the recirculation from the tub to the second conduit (and before to the ejector) from the flow communication with the water supply and thereby avoid that a mains water flow can branch into the recirculation without passing the dispenser device and therefore avoid or lower the possibility that a part of the washing liquid enters the water supply system.
[0025] According to a further embodiment of the laundry washing machine the venturi valve has a restriction region where an inner diameter of a recirculation fluid path has a minimum (along the venturi valve) and wherein the second conduit is connected to the recirculation fluid path at the restriction region.
[0026] Due to the venturi effect a main flow of fluid which passes through a region of decreased restriction area (for example at a decreased cross-section of a venturi valve) can produce a suction effect on another fluid which enters to the main flow through a further conduit, wherein said further conduit branches into the main flow in the decreased restriction area.
[0027] Due to using such a venturi effect it becomes possible to avoid using any valves for detergent which have to be opened and closed at the main flow path or additional pumping means for the detergent.
[0028] According to a further embodiment of the laundry washing machine the dispensing nozzle is positioned above a central part and above an uppermost point of the washing drum. Due to the positioning above a central part and uppermost point of the washing drum the mixture of detergent and water can better reach an increased amount of laundry while the washing drum is rotating. Therefore, the dispensing nozzle can provide a flow of mixed fluid mainly in a direction along a center-line of the washing drum with only minor deviations of the flow from this central direction.
[0029] According to a further embodiment of the laundry washing machine the fluid recirculation conduit represents a main fluid recirculation path from the bottom region of the washing tub to the top region of the washing drum which is separated from the fluid connection between the main wash chamber and the first inlet valve and separated from the firstconduit.
[0030] The main fluid recirculation path can represent a main mass flow of the fluid which is pumped from the bottom region of the washing tub to the top region of the washing drum. This main mass flow can cause the venturi suction effect on the mixture of detergent and water from the main wash chamber. Further, due to the separation of the main mass flow (fluid recirculation) from the first inlet valve and its conduit to the main wash chamber (and thereby from the water source), a reversal of the fluid mixture towards the first inlet valve can be significantly lowered or even avoided in order to fulfil a desired standard. There is no direct connection between inlet valve and detergent as long as the prewash chamber or the main wash chamber is in between.
[0031] According to a further embodiment of the laundry washing machine the contact of the second conduit to the venturi valve is the only fluid connection between the first inlet valve and the main fluid recirculation path.
[0032] According to a further embodiment of the laundry washing machine the fluid connection between the first inlet valve and the fluid recirculation conduit is provided exclusively by a passage through the main wash chamber and through the second conduit to the venturi valve.
[0033] According to a further embodiment of the laundry washing machine the fluid connection between the second inlet valve and the washing tub is provided exclusively by a passage through the prewash chamber and through the first conduit.
[0034] According to the invention the method for dosing a laundry washing liquid in a laundry washing machine comprises the steps of opening of the second inlet valve and thereby filling water as a fluid at least to a bottom region of the washing tub and closing the second inlet valve after a predefined amount of fluid has been filled into the bottom region of the washing tub; pumping, after or during the predefined amount of fluid has been filled into the bottom region of the washing tub, the fluid through the fluid recirculation conduit by the pumping device from the bottom region of the washing tub and through the venturi valve and through the dispensing nozzle into the top region of the washing drum and dispensing the fluid over the laundry in the washing drum (thereby the washing drum can be rotated); opening, while pumping, of the first inlet valve and filling of mains water into the main wash chamber, into which a certain amount of detergent has previously been introduced and sucking the mixture of water and detergent from the main wash chamber through the second conduit and into the venturi valve by the venturi effect from the pumped fluid in the fluid recirculation conduit and additionally mixing the mixture of water and detergent with fluid inside the fluid recirculation conduit and thereby dispensing the fluid as mixture of water and detergent through the dispensing nozzle over the laundry in the washing drum.
[0035] The mentioned method can be provided and executed on a laundry washing machine according to the invention.
[0036] The predefined amount of fluid being filled into the bottom region of the washing tub can depend on a chosen programme and / or on an amount of laundry to be washed.
[0037] The pumping of the fluid through the fluid recirculation conduit can be performed as circular flow as long as the washing programme needs it and from beginning the fluid can be water while during the circular flow the percentage of detergent in the mixture (fluid) can increase up to a predefined amount and then the recirculation can be stopped or continued with the amount of detergent being fixed. Further, also water can be dosed again into the washing tub as needed by the programme and further recirculated by pumping the fluid (mixture). These amounts of detergent and water can be adjusted as needed and the recirculation performed and stopped as needed.
[0038] The mixture of water and detergent can represent the laundry washing liquid.
[0039] According to a further embodiment of the method the predefined amount of fluid to be filled into the bottom region of the washing tub is adjusted with regard to a determined or identified amount of laundry and / or chosen washing program.
[0040] According to a further embodiment of the method the first inlet valve is closed after a predefined time or preset time or after a predefined amount of detergent is filled into the main wash chamber.
[0041] According to a further embodiment of the method the pumping of the mixed fluid is continued until a predefined time set by a washing programme.
[0042] According to a further embodiment of the method the washing drum is rotated at least temporarily during dispensing of the fluid to the washing drum.
[0043] All mentioned features of the laundry washing machine and their advantages can apply also to the corresponding method for dosing a laundry washing liquid in a laundry washing machine and vice versa.BRIEF DESCIRPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
