AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

The accumulation of snow at the front of the ski heel device slows down its 'slip' and causes snow to bite into the lateral edges, affecting its glide and rear behavior.

Method used

The rear part of the ski heel device is modified with a curved middle section forming a tunnel to evacuate snow and a spatulated front with rounded side angles to reduce friction and improve penetration into snow.

Benefits of technology

Enhances snow evacuation and reduces friction, thereby improving the glide and rear behavior of the device.

Description

Patent Application No. 87,11174 relates to a device allowing two skis held parallel by two common parts, one at the front with a spatula, the other at the rear flat, to pivot laterally in both directions allowing the feet to rest on both skis. The addition concerns the rear part No. 4 of the device. In the patent version, this rear section is flat. As a result, snow accumulates in front of this section, behind the two skis. Nos. 2 and 3 considerably slow down the "glide" of the device. On the other hand, the two front lateral angles 3 and 4 of this rear part No. 4 grip the snow when the skier, lifting one ski or the other, alternately bites into the snow at one or the other of these front lateral edges 3 and 4 of the rear part No. 4. The purpose of the addition is to allow the snow that accumulates at the front of this part to be cleared away, to increase "glide" and to improve the rear behavior of the device. The attached drawings illustrate the addition. Figure 1 shows the rear part 4 in perspective. Figure 2 shows a front view of the rear part 4. Figure 3 shows a top view of the rear part 4. The middle of the rear section corresponding to the spacing of skis 2 and 3 will be convex along its entire length and will appear as a No. 5 tunnel through which the snow will be evacuated. The entire front of this rear section No.4 "tunnel" including will be slightly spatulated, the two lateral angles 3 and 4 will be rounded to allow better penetration into the snow and reduce friction. Axes 13 and 15 will pass through the notches I and 2 practiced in spatulage.

Claims

DEMANDS (l) Device according to claim 1 of the main Patent characterized in that the middle of the rear part No.4 corresponding to the gap between the two skis Nos.2 and 3 is curved in the shape of a tunnel" along its entire length. 2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the entire front of this part No.4 "tunnel" included will be slightly spatulated to allow better penetration into the snow. 3) Device according to claim 1 or claim 2 characterized in that the front lateral angles Nos. 3 and 4 shall be rounded to avoid friction against the snow. 4) Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the spatulated front of this rear part 4 shall have two notches Nos. 1 and 2 to allow the passage of the axes 13 and 15.
