Description

Title of the invention: Device comprising a weighted shawl

[0001] The present invention relates to a device comprising a weighted shawl containing weights which can be heated providing, through the deep pressure exerted by the weights, a calming and structuring proprioceptive stimulation providing a feeling of calm, thus helping to reduce anxiety and improve concentration when the user wears the weighted shawl on his shoulders in an environment and / or situations which cause sensory overload, the heated weights generate heat.

[0002] The current weighted vests and jackets are intended for children whose dimensions are incompatible with the morphology of an adult and the weights used are generally made of metal or with gray ore sand, which does not allow them to be worn by an adult in society without showing any of their specificities and to heat them.

[0003] The current weighted scarf is intended for children whose weights are filled in large sausages made of micro-glass beads, which does not allow them to be worn by an adult in society without revealing their specific features and to heat them.

[0004] The current weighted neck warmers or neck pillows intended for adults to be worn in the office, at work, at home or to sit on the sofa are made of clay balls or natural flax seeds which can be heated but have dimensions which do not allow for freedom of movement and the weights distributed in bulky sausages do not allow them to be worn in society without revealing their specific features.

[0005] The device according to the invention makes it possible to overcome these drawbacks. According to a first characteristic, it comprises a textile envelope composed of a shawl and a sensory fabric having an invisible closing means such as an invisible zipper through which weights made of materials that can be heated can be introduced, distributed homogeneously in three separate covers provided with tubes. Thus, when the user heats the weights and wears the weighted shawl on her shoulders, the weights exert deep pressure providing calming and structuring proprioceptive stimulation and generate heat, while the textile envelope conceals the weights while remaining free to move thanks to its dimensions.

[0006] According to particular embodiments: • The thickness of the tubes and the position of the closing means are such that the textile envelope conceals the weights. • Each sausage contains the same weight grammage to make the distribution even in the covers. • Weights may be made of non-metallic elements that can be heated such as natural flax seeds. • The position of the covers can be planned centered in relation to the length of the textile envelope. • The three covers and the textile envelope may be provided with removable fastening means resistant to the forces generated by the weights, such as a hook-and-loop fastener and / or laces and / or buckles which tend to firmly hold the three covers together and within the textile envelope while making them removable. • Laces intended to be passed through the loops to be tied have a width intended to be smaller than the diameter of the loops. • A seam allowance may be provided on both lengths of the sensory fabric located inside the textile envelope and on covers fitted with a hook-and-loop fastener, thus forming the area containing the means of attachment. • The location of the closing means can be provided centered in relation to the position of the covers within the textile envelope. • Covers and fastening means may be made of non-metallic materials, which can be heated in a microwave oven. • The weighted shawl can be made from non-metallic materials, which do not interfere with sensory hypersensitivities. • The textile cover can be made of materials that can be machine washed at 30°.

[0007] The attached drawings illustrate the invention:

[0008] [Fig-1] represents a front view of the back part of the textile envelope (1)

[0009] [Fig.2] represents in section, the device of the invention.

[0010] [Fig.3] represents an isometric view of the covers (5) provided with tubes (6) containing the weights (7).

[0011] [Fig.4] represents a front view of the fixing means positioned on the three covers (5) of [Fig.2] to hold them together.

[0012] [Fig.5] shows in section, a variant of this device, a front view of the fixing means positioned within the textile envelope (1) of [Fig.l] and [Fig.2] and fixing means positioned on the three covers (5) of [Fig.2] and [Fig.3],

[0013] With reference to [Fig.l] to [Fig.3], the device comprising a weighted shawl comprises a textile envelope (1) of rectangular shape composed of a nylon shawl (2) on the front part and a sensory fabric (3) in velvet on the back part, fixed by sewing, the lower length of which has an invisible closing means (4) such as an invisible nylon zipper, having a length allowing the introduction of weights (7). These weights (7) are distributed in three cotton covers (5), of distinct rectangular shapes provided with sausages (6) separated by stitching forming very small rectangles of the same size providing, by the deep pressure, exerted by the weights (7), a calming and structuring proprioceptive stimulation and warmth, providing a feeling of calm, thus helping to reduce anxiety when the user wears the weighted shawl on her shoulders in an environment and / or situations which cause sensory overload. The thickness of the sausages (6) and the position of the closing means (4) are such that the textile envelope (1) conceals the weights (7) allowing it to be worn in society without revealing anything about the specific features of the weighted shawl.

[0014] Each sausage (6) contains the same weight grammage (7) which tends to make the distribution in the covers (6) homogeneous.

[0015] The distinct dimensions and the position of the three covers (5) centered in relation to the length of the textile envelope (1) are such that the weights (7) are distributed over the shoulders, the chest and the back, holding them well in place, thus allowing the user to be free to move.

[0016] In the embodiment according to [Fig.4] and [Fig.5] the three covers (5) and the textile envelope (1) are provided with removable fastening means made of cotton and / or nylon, resistant to the forces generated by the weights (7), such as a hook-and-loop fastener (9) and / or laces (10) and / or loops (11) in order to firmly hold the covers (5) together and within the textile envelope (1) while making them removable, thus allowing the user to extract and / or heat the cover(s) (5) independently and to make the textile envelope (1) removable. The laces (10) intended to be passed through the loops (11) to be tied have a width intended to be smaller than the diameter of the loops (11) allowing them to be inserted and removed easily.A seam allowance (8) is provided on both lengths of the sensory fabric (3) located inside the textile envelope (1) and on the covers provided with a hook-and-loop fastener (9) thus forming the area comprising the fixing means.

[0017] The attachment of the cover (5b) to the cover (5a) is achieved by the association of a first zone such as a hook-and-loop fastener (9) comprising the hook part attached by sewing to the cover (5b) on the seam allowance (8) of the upper length and a second zone such as a hook-and-loop fastener (9) comprising the velvet part attached by sewing to the cover (5a) on the seam allowance (8) in the center of its lower length. The two zones are of the same dimension.

[0018] The fixing of the cover (5c) to the cover (5b) is carried out by the association of a first zone such as loops (11) fixed by sewing to the cover (5b) on three parts of its lower length positioned on its right angle, in the center and on its left angle and a second zone such as laces (10) fixed by sewing to the cover (5c) on three parts of its upper length positioned on its right angle, in the center and on its left angle, each lace (10) is positioned so that it is opposite the loops (11) of the cover (5b).

[0019] The fixing of the covers (5) within the textile envelope (1) on the upper part is achieved by the association of a first zone such as a self-gripping closure (9) comprising the hook part fixed by sewing to the cover (5a) on the seam margin (8) of its upper length and a second zone such as a self-gripping closure (9) comprising the velvet part fixed by sewing to the sensory fabric (3) on the seam margin (8) in the center of its upper length. The two zones are of the same dimension.

[0020] The fixing of the covers (5) within the textile envelope (1) on its lower part is carried out by the association of a first zone such as loops (11) fixed by sewing to the cover (5c) on two parts of its lower length positioned on its right angle and on its left angle and of a second zone such as laces (10) fixed by sewing to the sensory fabric (3) on the seam allowance (8) of its lower length, positioned on two places, so that each lace (10) is positioned opposite the loops (11) of the cover (5c).

[0021] The location of the closing means (4) is centered relative to the position of the covers (5) within the textile envelope (1) allowing the covers (5) to be easily inserted and extracted.

[0022] The weights (7) made of elements such as natural flax seeds and the non-metallic materials used for the covers (5) and the fixing means are such that they are compatible with being heated by the user in a heat source such as a microwave oven providing heat, thus making it possible to reduce muscular tension and / or warm the body.

[0023] The weighted shawl is made from soft, pleasant, non-metallic materials, allowing the user not to be interfered with in the event of sensory hypersensitivities.

[0024] The textile envelope (1) is made of materials that can be machine washed at 30°.

[0025] According to a variant not illustrated, the surface of the sensory fabric (3) may be dotted with small bulges to allow the user to have pleasant sensory contact.

[0026] As a non-limiting example, the sensory fabric (3) will have dimensions of the order of 177 cm for the length, 58 cm for the width and the dimensions of the shawl (2) will be at least 1.5 cm greater than that of the sensory fabric (3).

[0027] The device according to the invention is particularly suitable for a user such as than a woman with autistic disorders and / or ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and / or social phobias, and / or muscle pain and / or sensitivity to cold.
