Vertical launch system

Abstract

A vertical launch system comprising a container having a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The container defines an interior space extending between the first and second ends. The container further defines a first level near the first end and a second level adjacent to the first level. The vertical launch system further comprises a first plurality of missiles arranged in the interior space of the container and located on the first level of the container, and a second plurality of missiles arranged in the interior space of the container and located on the second level of the container such that the first and second plurality of missiles are arranged in a stacked configuration. In addition, the vertical launch system comprises a plume deflector disposed inside the container.The plume deflector is positioned between the first level and the second level.
