Declaration of sidelink radio link failure in sidelink carrier aggregation

Abstract

An apparatus configured to: group a plurality of carrier components (CCs) used in carrier aggregation into different subsets of CCs, based on at least one common characteristic associated with each respective plurality of CCs that have been grouped into respective subsets, wherein at least one subset includes more than one CC of at least one common characteristic; and declare RLF upon determining a failure of at least one CC is detected in more than one of the respective subsets. The common characteristic may comprise frequency band, transmission power, power spectral density (PSD), channel busy ratio (CBR), or radio link conditions. In a case of packet duplication being configured for a radio bearer transmitted by the apparatus, the RLF may be declared when the failure is determined in at least one CC in each of the different subsets that are used for the packet duplication for the radio bearer. The carrier aggregation may be sidelink (SL) carrier aggregation.
