Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Assembly for assembling at least one modular electrical apparatus to a mounting rail for a distribution box, modular electrical apparatus, associated mounting rail and electrical distribution box
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of assemblies for assembling at least one modular electrical apparatus to a mounting rail for an electrical distribution box, the field of modular electrical apparatuses and the field of electrical distribution boxes.
[0002] Electrical distribution boxes having three phases and sometimes one neutral, commonly referred to as TPN, are known, which may comprise three phase busbars for the distribution of three phase potentials, and which are preferably arranged vertically. These three busbars are usually protected and insulated by an insulated housing. Each phase busbar is connected to one or more phase conductors that project from the insulated housing in a direction perpendicular to the phase busbars to permit the electrical connection of one or more modular electrical apparatuses, for example modular residual current devices, modular circuit breakers, to an electrical distribution source. The modular electrical apparatuses further comprise a fastening zone and are configured to be fastened by the fastening zones thereof to at least one mounting rail forming part of the electrical distribution box, commonly referred to as a DIN rail, which is parallel to the three phase busbars and therefore also arranged vertically. The mounting rail is not arranged inside the insulated housing.
[0003] However, where the installer arranges the modular electrical apparatuses in the distribution box by assembling the fastening zone thereof on the mounting rail and by electrically connecting the connection terminals of the modular electrical apparatus to the phase and, where applicable, neutral conductors, the modular electrical apparatuses may not be aligned with the mounting rail and / or may not be arranged perpendicular to the mounting rail. This makes it difficult or impossible to mount the front panel of the electrical distribution box, which comprises a rectangular opening designed to ensure that only the front faces equipped with a lever of each of the modular electrical apparatuses are accessible.
[0004] The present invention is intended to overcome these drawbacks and to propose a solution which prevents misalignment of one or more modular electrical apparatuses on the mounting rail.
[0005] To this end, the invention relates to an assembling assembly as claimed in claim 1.
[0006] The invention also relates to a modular electrical apparatus as claimed in claim 9.
[0007] The invention also relates to a mounting rail as claimed in claim 10.
[0008] The invention also relates to an electrical distribution box as claimed in claim 11.

[0028] The invention relates to an assembly for assembling at least one modular electrical apparatus 1 to a mounting rail 2 for an electrical distribution box 3.
[0029] Said assembling assembly comprises at least:
[0030] the mounting rail 2 comprising a profile 4 extending longitudinally in a first longitudinal direction DR comprising a first mounting face 5 configured to support at least one fastening zone 6 of said at least one modular electrical apparatus 1 in an assembled position PA,
[0031] said at least one modular electrical apparatus 1 comprising at least one phase line, at least one phase output connection terminal 7, a phase input connection terminal, and a housing 9 having an overall parallelepipedic shape with two main faces, respectively a first face 10 and a second face 11, and side faces extending from one of the main faces to the other, specifically a rear face 12, a front face 13, a left-hand face 14 and a right-hand face 15, the width of the modular electrical apparatus corresponding to the distance between the first face 10 and the second face 11, corresponds to a multiple of a standardized value, referred to as a module, substantially equal to 18 mm, the rear face 12 comprising said fastening zone 6 for fastening to the mounting rail 2 of the electrical distribution box 3 arranged between a first planar zone 16 of the rear face 12 located on the left-hand face 14 of the housing 9 and a second planar zone 17 of the rear face 12 located on the righthand face 15 of the housing 9.
[0032] According to the invention, said assembling assembly is characterized in that it comprises:
[0033] at least one first assembly member 18 arranged on the mounting rail 2,
[0034] at least one second assembly member 19 located in or near to the fastening zone 6 of the modular electrical apparatus 1,
[0035] said at least one first assembly member 18 and one second assembly member 19 being configured to enable assembly therebetween by form fitting and to enable said modular electrical apparatus 1 to be positioned in the assembled position PA on the mounting rail 2 with the first face 10 and the second face 11 perpendicular to the first longitudinal direction DR.
[0036] Advantageously, by virtue of this configuration, said at least one modular electrical apparatus 1 is aligned on the mounting rail 2 perpendicular to the first longitudinal direction DR in the assembled position PA. In fact, and as illustrated notably in figures 17 and 18, the two main faces, specifically the first face 10 and the second face 11, are perpendicular to the first longitudinal direction DR of the mounting rail 2. As a result, the solution guarantees correct installation and prevents misalignment of the modular electrical apparatus 1, as is the case in the prior art illustrated in figures 1 to 4. This solution has the additional advantage of being easy to install because it is integrated on the one hand into the mounting rail 2 and on the other hand into the modular electrical apparatus 1. Therefore, no additional parts are required.
[0037] Figures 5 to 18 illustrate an example according to the invention.
[0038] Preferably and as illustrated in the figures, said assembling assembly comprises at least two first assembly members 18 spaced apart from one another by a distance d1 substantially equal to one module.
[0039] As a result, and as illustrated notably in figures 11 to 18, where a plurality of modular electrical apparatuses is assembled with the mounting rail 2 via the fastening zone 6 thereof in the assembled position PA, this plurality of modular electrical apparatuses 1 will also be aligned on the mounting rail 2 perpendicular to the first longitudinal direction DR.
[0040] In the example illustrated in figures 5 to 18, the mounting rail 2 is provided with six first assembly members 18.
[0041] Figures 5 to 8 show a possibility in which a single modular electrical apparatus 1 according to the invention which is one module wide and which comprises a second assembly member 19, can be assembled with this mounting rail 2.
[0042] Figures 9 to 12 and 17 show another possibility in which two modular electrical apparatuses 1 according to the invention which are one module wide, which are arranged side by side, and which each include a second assembly member 19, can be assembled with this mounting rail 2.
[0043] Figures 13 to 16 and 18 show yet another possibility in which three modular electrical apparatuses 1 according to the invention which are one module wide, which are arranged side by side, and which each include a second assembly member 19, can be assembled with this mounting rail 2.
[0044] Preferably, the fastening zone 6 of the modular electrical apparatus 1 has a fastening width which is substantially equal to one module and the second assembly member 19 is centered substantially in the middle of said fastening width. In addition, the mounting rail 2 has at least one plurality of adjacent mounting zones configured to accommodate a plurality of fastening zones 6. The mounting zone has a mounting width which is substantially equal to one module for receiving the fastening zone 6 of one of the modular electrical apparatuses 1. Each first assembly member 18 is centered substantially in the middle of said mounting width.
[0045] Preferably, said at least one first assembly member 18 is male and projects from the mounting rail 2 and said at least one second assembly member 19 is female.
[0046] Advantageously and as illustrated in particular in figures 8, 12, 14 and 16, in the assembled position PA, the first assembly member 18 is inserted into said at least one second assembly member 19.
[0047] Preferably, the profile 4 comprises at least one curved first longitudinal edge 20, the fastening zone 6 comprises a central base 21 extended on one side by a first edge 22 and on the other side by a second edge 23 configured to be in contact with an outer face 24 of the curved first longitudinal edge 20 in the assembled position PA, and said at least one male first assembly member 18 projects from the outer face 24 of the curved first longitudinal edge 20 of the mounting rail 2 and said at least one female second assembly member 19 is located at the second edge 23.
[0048] Preferably, said at least one male first assembly member 18 comprises at least one planar fin 25 perpendicular to the profile 4, and said at least one female second assembly member 19 comprises at least one slot 26 of complementary shape.
[0049] Advantageously and as illustrated in particular in figures 8, 12, 14 and 16, in the assembled position PA, the fin 25 is inserted into said slot 26.
[0050] Preferably, said at least one planar fin 25 is perpendicular to the outer face 24 of the first longitudinal edge 20. [0051 ] In the case of a plurality of fins 25, these are parallel to each other.
[0052] Preferably, said slot 26 opens into the second edge 23 through at least one opening 27.
[0053] Preferably, said opening 27 has a guiding zone 28 preferably in the form of two chamfers 29 facing each other.
[0054] Advantageously and as illustrated in figures 6, 10, 12, and 14, the guiding zone 28 facilitates the insertion of the fin 25 into the slot 26. Thus, during insertion, the fin 25 need not be perfectly aligned relative to the slot 26 because the guiding zone 28 centers the fin 25 relative to the slot 26 to enable insertion.
[0055] Preferably, the opening 27 in the guiding zone is larger than the thickness of the slot 26.
[0056] The invention also relates to a mounting rail 2 comprising the profile 4 extending longitudinally in the first longitudinal direction DR comprising the first mounting face 5 configured to support at least the fastening zone 6 of said at least one modular electrical apparatus 1 in the assembled position PA.
[0057] According to the invention, said mounting rail 2 is characterized in that it comprises said at least one first assembly member 18, and in that it is configured for said assembling assembly according to the invention.
[0058] The mounting rail 2 may be made of a polymer, for example plastic, or a metal, for example steel.
[0059] The mounting rail 2 comprises the profile 4 extending longitudinally in the first longitudinal direction DR comprising the first mounting face 5 configured to support the fastening zone 6 of the modular electrical apparatus 1 in an assembled position PA.
[0060] In the example shown, the profile 4 has a half-hat- or half-omega-shaped section. Of course, this example is not limiting and the profile 4 may alternatively be hat- or omega-shaped, C-shaped or G-shaped.
[0061] The profile 4 comprises a central rectilinear part 38 having a predetermined width, the first longitudinal edge 20, a second longitudinal edge 36 and a lip 39 all of which extend along the length thereof in the first longitudinal direction DR.
[0062] The first longitudinal edge 20 extends the central rectilinear part 38 at a right angle. In fact, the first longitudinal edge 20 of the profile 4 with a half-hat- or half-omega-shaped section is preferably curved at 90 degrees with respect to the central rectilinear part 38.
[0063] The second longitudinal edge 36 is not curved in this example, which is however not limiting.
[0064] The lip 39 extends the first longitudinal edge 20 at a right angle outwards, but not toward the central rectilinear part 38.
[0065] The outer face 24 supports said at least one projecting male first assembly member 18.
[0066] In the example illustrated in the figures, the outer face 24 comprises a plurality of planar fins 25 spaced apart from one another by the distance d1 substantially equal to one module, each of which being perpendicular to the outer face 24. The planar fins 25 are also perpendicular to the central rectilinear part 38.
[0067] Preferably, said planar fin 25 has a rectangular shape. The fin 25 has a height hi.
[0068] The first longitudinal edge 20 which is curved has a height h2. Preferably, the height hi of the planar fin 25 is less than the height h2 of the first longitudinal edge 20.
[0069] The first longitudinal edge 20 has an end 37 and the planar fin 25 is arranged at a spacing distance d2 from said end 37.
[0070] Preferably, the lip 39 extends said end 37 at a right angle.
[0071] The planar fin 25 is preferably arranged at the spacing distance d2 from the lip 39 to leave a free space 40 between the planar fin 25 and the lip 39.
[0072] This advantageous configuration enables a standard modular electrical apparatus (not shown) which is not provided with a slot 26 according to the invention to also be received on the mounting rail 2, which enables backwards compatibility.
[0073] Indeed, in the case of a standard modular electrical apparatus, the height h3 of the second edge 23 of the fastening zone 6 is less than the spacing distance d2, which enables the second edge 23 to be arranged in the free space 40 in the assembled position PA. Preferably and in this case, the height h3 of the second edge 23 is between 0 millimeters and 5 millimeters.
[0074] Conversely, for a modular electrical apparatus 1 according to the invention, the height h3 of the second edge 23 of the fastening zone 6 is preferably greater than the spacing distance d2. Preferably and in this case, the height h3 of the second edge 23 is greater than 5 millimeters, which enables the planar fin 25 to be inserted into the slot 26 in the assembled position PA.
[0075] The invention also relates to said modular electrical apparatus 1.
[0076] Figures 5 to 18 show one or more modular electrical apparatuses 1 according to an example of the invention.
[0077] Said modular electrical apparatus 1 comprises at least the phase line, at least the phase output connection terminal 7, the phase input connection terminal, and the housing 9 having an overall parallelepipedic shape with two main faces, respectively the first face 10 and the second face 11, and the side faces extending from one of the main faces to the other, specifically the rear face 12, the front face 13, the left-hand face 14 and the right-hand face 15, the width of the modular electrical apparatus corresponding to the distance between the first face 10 and the second face 11, corresponds to a multiple of a standardized value, referred to as a module, substantially equal to 18 mm, the rear face 12 comprising said fastening zone 6 for fastening to the mounting rail 2 of the electrical distribution box 3 arranged between the first planar zone 16 of the rear face 12 located on the lefthand face 14 of the housing 9 and the second planar zone 17 of the rear face 12 located on the right-hand face 15 of the housing 9.
[0078] According to the invention, said modular electrical apparatus 1 is characterized in that it comprises said at least one second assembly member 19 located in or near to the fastening zone 6, and in that it is configured for said assembling assembly according to the invention.
[0079] Preferably, the modular electrical apparatus 1 is a modular electrical protection apparatus of the circuit breaker type, for example an MCB molded case circuit breaker, or an RCBO differential circuit breaker, or an AFDD arc detection apparatus. In the example illustrated in figures 5 to 18, the modular electrical apparatus 1 is one module wide; this example is not limiting.
[0080] For example, in the case of a neutral phase circuit breaker illustrated in figures 5 to 18, the phase line comprises a pair of phase contacts and the neutral line comprises a pair of neutral contacts, where applicable. In this case, the modular electrical apparatus 1 may also comprise an input neutral connection terminal (not shown).
