Surface treatment composition comprising both chemical and microbial components for surpressing non-GRAS microorganisms on a surface
The rehabilitation composition effectively targets harmful organisms while preserving the natural microbiome by using a combination of acids, non-ionic surfactants, and prebiotics/probiotics, achieving rapid and broad-spectrum biocidal activity without harsh chemicals.

AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Existing biocidal compositions indiscriminately kill both harmful and beneficial microorganisms, disrupting the natural microbiome, and often contain harsh chemicals that can irritate surfaces and the environment.
Method used
A rehabilitation composition comprising acids or their salts, non-ionic surfactants, moisture regulators, and prebiotics/probiotics/postbiotics, which selectively target harmful organisms while promoting the natural microbiome, without strong oxidizing agents.
Benefits of technology
The composition achieves rapid and broad-spectrum biocidal activity with high germ reduction (up to 7-log levels) within 30 seconds, supporting the natural microbiome and being environmentally friendly.

Abstract
A microbiome rehabilitating micellar water emulsion composition comprising 1-5 wt.% of at least one non-ionic surfactant, at least one prebiotic, probiotic or postbiotic, 0.1-20% of at least one solvent, at least one pH regulator, at least one acid, or alkali or alkaline earth salt thereof, or amino acid, and up to 98.695% water, where the pH of the composition is between 3 and 4.2 and the composition comprises no C1-C6 alcohols other than glycol ethers, no surfactants other than the non-ionic surfactants, and no quaternary ammonium compounds. A method of treating a surface with the composition and use of the composition to disinfect skin or disinfect particulate matter on a surface are also included. The composition restores and rebalances a bacterial microbiome. The prebiotics may be disaccharides, oligosaccharides or polysaccharides, the probiotic may be a strain of Bacillus and the postbiotic may be a complex bacterial metabolite, lysate or ferment. The composition may be used as a cosmetic, medical, agricultural or animal husbandry composition, such as a root drench, leaf shine or foliar barrier spray. The composition may be a gel, foam or liquid. The composition may be used as a virucidal agent.
