Altering lane keep assist behavior based on whether a driver is looking at a target line

Abstract

A computer implememented method to assist a vehicle with lane keeping comprising, receiving and image of a vehicles surroundings 6002 and identifying in the surroundings and adjeacent lane 6004. Receiving an image of the driver using an internal camera 6006 and determining the drivers gaze direction based on said image 6008. Determine whether gaze direction intersects with the adjacent lane 6010 and based on if they intersect adjust the lane keep assist 6012. [Figure 60]
