Abstract
The present invention relates to a device meant for the production and application of cold atmospheric pressure plasma (CAP) in combination with electromagnetic energy, including ultraviolet (UV), visible and infrared radiation (IR), as well as radiofrequency current (RF). The device includes a high voltage electrode within a hermetically sealed chamber (applier) made from rigid or flexible dielectric material filled with an inert gas under a constant or adjustable pressure. The CAP application has the ability to adjust electrode distance and internal pressure, allowing control of the plasmacharacteristics. The applier may have a balloon like structure suitable for endoscopic or catheter like use. The device operates without continuous gas supply and is suitable for medical, industrial, and sterilization applications, including in vivo therapies. The system allows selective targeting of cancer cells in vivo, minimizes damage to healthy tissues, and operates without the need for continuous gas supply.
