[0008] Embodiments will be described based on the drawings. The following embodiments are illustrative, and the scope of the invention is not limited thereto. The following embodiments can be implemented in various other forms, and various omissions, substitutions, and changes can be made without departing from the gist of the invention. The following embodiments and their modifications are included in the invention described in the claims and the equivalent scope thereof.
[0009] FIGS. 1 and 2 show a refrigerator 10 according to an embodiment. A housing 11 of the refrigerator 10 has an outer box 12 forming an outer shell of the refrigerator 10, an inner box 13 combined with the outer box 12, and a heat insulation part 14 between the outer box 12 and the inner box 13. The heat insulation part 14 is filled with a heat insulating material. The heat insulating material is sandwiched between the outer box 12 and the inner box 13.
[0010] The inside of the housing 11 is vertically partitioned by a heat insulation partition wall 21. Above the heat insulation partition wall 21 is a refrigerating space. The refrigerating space is maintained at a refrigerating temperature suitable for refrigerated storage. Below the heat insulation partition wall 21 is a freezing space. The freezing space is maintained at a freezing temperature suitable for frozen storage.
[0011] A plurality of storage chambers for storing food are provided in the refrigerating space and the freezing space, respectively. Each storage chamber has an opening at the front, and a user can take in and out food through the opening.
[0012] In the refrigerating space, a refrigerator compartment 20 and a vegetable compartment 22 as storage chambers are provided in order from above. A plurality of placing shelves 24 are provided in the refrigerator compartment 20. The periphery of the placing shelves 24 in the refrigerator compartment 20 is maintained at, for example, 2 to 5° C. within the range of the refrigerating temperature. A chilled compartment 26 is provided at the lower part in the refrigerator compartment 20. The chilled compartment 26 is a place maintained at a particularly low temperature inside the refrigerator compartment 20, for example, maintained at 0 to 3° C.
[0013] The front opening of the refrigerator compartment 20 is opened and closed by a single refrigerator door 15. An operation panel (not shown) is provided on the refrigerator door 15. A plurality of storage pockets 29 are attached to the inner surface of the refrigerator door 15 inside the compartment.
[0014] The vegetable compartment 22 is maintained at a temperature within the refrigerator temperature range, for example, 4-7°C. A pull-out storage container is stored in the vegetable compartment 22. The front opening of the vegetable compartment 22 is opened and closed by a pull-out vegetable compartment door 16.
[0015] An ice-making compartment (not shown) is located in the upper left of the freezing space. A small freezer compartment 27 is located in the upper right of the freezing space (to the right of the ice-making compartment). A freezer compartment 28 is located below the ice-making compartment and the small freezer compartment 27. Each of the ice-making compartment, the small freezer compartment 27, and the freezer compartment 28 contains a pull-out storage container. During normal operation, the interior of the ice-making compartment, the small freezer compartment 27, and the freezer compartment 28 is maintained at a freezing temperature within the range of, for example, -20 to -18°C.
[0016] The front opening of the ice-making compartment is opened and closed by a pull-out ice-making compartment door 17. The front opening of the small freezer compartment 27 is opened and closed by a pull-out small freezer compartment door 18. The front opening of the freezer compartment 28 is opened and closed by a pull-out freezer compartment door 19.
[0017] A first cooling chamber 35 is provided behind the refrigerated space. The first cooling chamber 35 is a space formed between the inner box 13 of the enclosure 11 and the wall 23 that constitutes the back of the storage room. A first cooler 30 that generates cold air and a first fan 32 that acts as a blower to circulate the generated cold air are provided in this first cooling chamber 35. The cold air generated by the first cooler 30 is blown out into the refrigerated space through a duct 31 that extends upward from the first cooler 30 and circulates within the refrigerated space. The cold air that has circulated within the refrigerated space returns to the location of the first cooler 30.
[0018] Furthermore, behind the freezing space, there is a second cooler 33 that generates cold air and a second fan 34 that acts as a blower to circulate the generated cold air. The cold air generated by the second cooler 33 is blown into the freezing space, circulates within the freezing space, and then returns to the location of the second cooler 33.
[0019] A machine room 36 is provided at the lower rear of the refrigerator 10. The machine room 36 houses a compressor 37, a condenser 50 (see Figure 3), and the like. The compressor 37, condenser 50, first cooler 30, second cooler 33, etc. constitute a well-known refrigeration cycle device. The refrigerant compressed by the compressor 37 flows alternately through the first cooler 30 and the second cooler 33, thereby generating cold air alternately in the first cooler 30 and the second cooler 33.
[0020] The machine room 36 opens to the rear, and this opening is closed by a closing plate 38. Multiple ventilation openings (not shown) are provided in the left and right walls of the machine room 36 and in the closing plate 38. Air flows through these ventilation openings from outside to inside the machine room 36, and from inside to outside the machine room 36.
[0021] Figure 3 shows the interior of the machine room 36. In the following explanation, "front" and "back" refer to the direction from which the various doors open. "Rear side" refers to the rear of the machine room 36 when the refrigerator 10 is viewed from behind, and "front side" refers to the front of the machine room 36 when the refrigerator 10 is viewed from behind. The rear side is the front of the refrigerator 10, and the front side is the rear of the refrigerator 10. "Left and right" refer to the direction from which the refrigerator 10 is viewed, or in other words, the direction from which the machine room 36 is viewed from the front.
[0022] As shown in Figure 3, the bottom of the machine room 36 is made up of a base 39. The compressor 37 and the evaporator tray 41 are mounted on this base 39. The compressor 37 is located on the left side, and the evaporator tray 41 is located on the right side. Above the evaporator tray 41, as shown in Figures 4 to 8, an assembly 40 is mounted, in which the condenser 50 and the blower 60 are attached to a fixing device 70.
[0023] Next, the structure of the condenser 50 will be explained based on Figures 4 to 10.
[0024] The condenser 50 comprises a plurality of heat exchange plates 51 arranged in the front-to-back direction with spacing between them, and a single pipe 52 that penetrates these heat exchange plates 51. The heat exchange plates 51 are rectangular plates that are perpendicular to the front-to-back direction and extend in the vertical and horizontal directions.
[0025] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 6, the pipe 52 is composed of multiple unidirectional extension portions 52a extending in the front-rear direction and multiple curved portions 52b alternately joined together. The unidirectional extension portions 52a are portions that extend perpendicularly to the heat exchange plates 51 in the region where the multiple heat exchange plates 51 are arranged and penetrate the multiple heat exchange plates 51. The curved portions 52b are portions that curve on the outside (both front and rear sides) of the region where the multiple heat exchange plates 51 are arranged and join the ends of two unidirectional extension portions 52a together. Heat is removed from the refrigerant as heat exchange occurs between the refrigerant passing through the pipe 52 and the air surrounding the heat exchange plates 51.
[0026] As shown in Figures 9 and 10, end plates 53 and 54 are provided as part of the condenser 50 on the outside (both front and rear sides) of the region where the multiple heat exchange plates 51 are arranged in the front-to-back direction.
[0027] The front end plate 53 is formed from a single metal plate bent at a right angle at a predetermined position, and consists of four plate sections. The four plate sections are the first plate section 53a, the second plate section 53b, the third plate section 53c, and the fourth plate section 53d, as shown in Figure 9.
[0028] The first plate portion 53a is a plate-like portion that extends in the same direction as the heat exchange plate 51 and is also parallel to the heat exchange plate 51. The left and right ends of the first plate portion 53a are in the same position as the left and right ends of the heat exchange plate 51 in the left-right direction. The upper end of the first plate portion 53a is at the same height as the upper end of the area where the multiple heat exchange plates 51 are lined up, and the lower end of the first plate portion 53a is at the same height as the lower end of the area where the multiple heat exchange plates 51 are lined up.
[0029] The second plate portion 53b is bent at a right angle to the first plate portion 53a and is a plate-like portion that extends from the left end of the first plate portion 53a toward the front. A hole 53e penetrates the second plate portion 53b horizontally near its vertical center. The upper and lower ends of the second plate portion 53b are at the same height as the upper and lower ends of the heat exchange plate 51.
[0030] The third plate portion 53c is a plate-like portion that is bent at a right angle to the first plate portion 53a and extends from the upper end of the first plate portion 53a toward the rear. The left and right ends of the third plate portion 53c coincide with the left and right ends of the heat exchange plate 51 in the left-right direction. The third plate portion 53c covers the front portion of the area where the multiple heat exchange plates 51 are arranged in the front-rear direction from above. On the other hand, the rear portion of the area where the multiple heat exchange plates 51 are arranged in the front-rear direction is not covered by the third plate portion 53c and is open to the top.
[0031] The fourth plate portion 53d is bent at a right angle to the third plate portion 53c and is a plate-like portion that extends upward from the far end of the third plate portion 53c. Two notches 53f are formed on the left and right sides of the upper end of the fourth plate portion 53d. One notch 53f holds a pipe 46 for introducing refrigerant into the condenser 50, and the other notch 53f holds a pipe 47 through which the refrigerant coming out of the condenser 50 passes. As can be seen from this, the refrigerant inlet and outlet are located on the upper side of the condenser 50.
[0032] Furthermore, the rear end plate 54 is formed from two plate sections created by bending a single metal plate at a right angle. The two plate sections are the first plate section 54a and the second plate section 54b, as shown in Figure 10.
[0033] The first plate portion 54a is a plate-like portion that extends in the same direction as the heat exchange plate 51 and is also parallel to the heat exchange plate 51. The left and right ends of the first plate portion 54a are in the same position as the left and right ends of the heat exchange plate 51 in the left-right direction. The upper end of the first plate portion 54a is higher than the upper end of the area where the multiple heat exchange plates 51 are lined up, and the lower end of the first plate portion 54a is at the same height as the lower end of the area where the multiple heat exchange plates 51 are lined up.
[0034] Holes 54f are formed in two locations on the left and right sides of the upper part of the first plate portion 54a. These holes 54f are at the same height as the notch 53f in the front end plate 53. A pipe 46 for introducing refrigerant to the condenser 50 passes through one of the holes 54f, and a pipe 47 for which the refrigerant coming out of the condenser 50 passes passes through the other hole 54f.
[0035] The second plate portion 54b is a plate-like portion that is bent at a right angle to the first plate portion 54a and extends from the left end of the first plate portion 54a toward the back. The lower end of the second plate portion 54b is at the same height as the lower end of the area where the heat exchange plates 51 are lined up, and the upper end of the second plate portion 54b is at a higher position than the upper end of the area where the heat exchange plates 51 are lined up.
[0036] The first plate portion 53a of the front end plate 53 and the first plate portion 54a of the rear end plate 54 are parallel to the heat exchange plate 51 as described above. Multiple heat exchange plates 51 are arranged between these first plate portions 53a and 54a.
[0037] The unidirectional extension portion 52a of the pipe 52 penetrates the front and rear first plate portions 53a and 54a. The curved portion 52b of the pipe 52 is located outside the area where the multiple heat exchange plates 51 are arranged, relative to the front and rear first plate portions 53a and 54a.
[0038] As shown in Figure 9, the pipe 46 that introduces refrigerant into the condenser 50 and the pipe 47 through which the refrigerant exiting the condenser 50 passes extend between a predetermined location below and to the right of the condenser 50 and the hole 54f in the rear end plate 54. These pipes 46 and 47 extend from a location to the right of the condenser 50 near the third plate section 53c, bend above the third plate section 53c, and extend to the location of the notch 53f in the fourth plate section 53d. As described above, since the third plate section 53c covers the front portion of the area where the multiple heat exchange plates 51 are arranged in the front-to-back direction from above, the pipes 46 and 47 above the third plate section 53c are less likely to come into contact with the heat exchange plates 51.
[0039] On the other hand, in the area where the multiple heat exchange plates 51 are arranged in the front-to-back direction, the upper end of the heat exchange plate 51 is not covered by the third plate portion 53c, so that air above the heat exchange plate 51 can enter the area where the heat exchange plates 51 are arranged.
[0040] Next, the structure of the blower 60 will be explained based on Figures 11 and 12.
[0041] The blower 60 comprises a blower body 61 and a frame member 62 that holds the blower body 61. In Figures 11 and 12, the blower body 61 is the part that is shaded.
[0042] The blower body 61 comprises a shaft portion 64 and a plurality of blades 63. In Figures 11 and 12, the shaft portion 64 and the plurality of blades 63 are shown with different shaded directions. In Figures 11 and 12, the plurality of blades 63 are depicted in a simplified manner; specifically, the parts corresponding to the plurality of blades 63 are depicted as a single disc surrounding the shaft portion 64.
[0043] The shaft portion 64 is a part that rotates when driven by a motor (not shown), and is the rotation axis of the blades 63. The multiple blades 63 rotate together with the shaft portion 64, generating airflow.
[0044] The frame member 62 comprises an outer frame 65 having a circular opening 68 in which the blower body 61 is housed, a holding portion 66 that supports the shaft portion 64 of the blower body 61 within the circular opening 68, and a plurality of connecting portions 67 that connect the outer frame 65 and the holding portion 66. The frame member 62 is a separate component from the fastener 70.
[0045] As multiple blades 63 rotate around the shaft portion 64, air flows through the circular opening 68 of the outer frame 65. The direction of the airflow generated by the rotation of the blades 63 is from the condenser 50 side towards the compressor 37 side.
[0046] Next, the structure of the fastener 70 will be explained based on Figures 13 to 17.
[0047] The fixing device 70 is a cylindrical member that is roughly rectangular when viewed from the left and right directions and has an air passage on the inside that runs in the left and right directions. As shown in Figures 13 and 14, the right side of the fixing device 70 is the larger condenser-side cylindrical section 77a on the inside, and the left side of the fixing device 70 is the smaller blower-side cylindrical section 77b on the inside. As shown in Figure 18, the condenser 50 is installed in the condenser-side cylindrical section 77a, and the blower 60 is installed in the blower-side cylindrical section 77b.
[0048] As shown in Figures 13 and 15, two first partition walls 71 are formed inside the fixing device 70 at positions corresponding to the boundary between the condenser-side cylindrical portion 77a and the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b. These first partition walls 71 form a step inside the fixing device 70 corresponding to the boundary between the condenser-side cylindrical portion 77a and the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b. Each of the first partition walls 71 is a wall that is perpendicular to the left-right direction and long in the vertical direction. As shown in Figure 16, the first partition walls 71 on both the front and rear sides are divided into two halves and are not connected.
[0049] From the position of the first partition wall 71, the upper covering wall 72a, the lower covering wall 72b, the front covering wall 72c, and the rear covering wall 72d extend toward the right (towards the condenser 50). The upper covering wall 72a and the rear covering wall 72d are connected, the rear covering wall 72d and the lower covering wall 72b are connected, and the lower covering wall 72b and the front covering wall 72c are connected, forming a rectangular cylindrical condenser-side section 77a that surrounds at least a part of the condenser 50.
[0050] A gap is provided between the upper cover wall 72a and the front cover wall 72c to avoid parts (not shown) that are placed in the machine room 36. As shown in Figures 6 and 16, when viewed from the right, a holding portion 72e capable of holding parts (not shown) is provided between the upper cover wall 72a and the front cover wall 72c.
[0051] Furthermore, the lower cover wall 72b extends further to the right than the upper cover wall 72a, the front cover wall 72c, and the rear cover wall 72d. When the condenser 50 is inserted into the condenser side cylindrical section 77a, the lower cover wall 72b extends at least to the right end of the condenser 50, covering the entire area where the heat exchange plates 51 are arranged from below (see Figures 4 and 7). The left end of the lower cover wall 72b is connected to the lower end of the first partition wall 71.
[0052] On the other hand, the lengths of the upper cover wall 72a, the front cover wall 72c, and the rear cover wall 72d in the left-right direction are less than half the length of the area in the condenser 50 where the heat exchange plates 51 are arranged. Therefore, when the condenser 50 is inserted into the condenser-side cylindrical section 77a, the upper cover wall 72a, the front cover wall 72c, and the rear cover wall 72d cover only less than half of the left side (first partition wall 71 side) of the area where the heat exchange plates 51 are arranged (see Figures 4 and 7).
[0053] As shown in Figures 13, 15, and 16, the surface of the first partition wall 71 facing the condenser 50 is provided with a pipe holding portion 73 for holding the curved portion 52b of the pipe 52 of the condenser 50. The tip of the pipe holding portion 73 is roughly U-shaped and opens to the right (towards the condenser 50). The curved portion 52b of the pipe 52 fits inside the U-shaped portion, thereby holding the pipe 52. One such pipe holding portion 73 is provided on each of the front and rear first partition walls 71. Also, as shown in Figures 15 and 16, the right surface of the front first partition wall 71 (the surface facing the condenser 50) has a protrusion 74 that extends to the right.
[0054] Furthermore, the upper covering wall 75a, the lower covering wall 75b, the front covering wall 75c, and the rear covering wall 75d extend from the position of the first bulkhead wall 71 in the left-right direction toward the blower 60. The left-right lengths of these walls 75a to 75d are equal. These walls 75a to 75d are connected to form the blower-side cylindrical section 77b that surrounds the blower 60.
[0055] As shown in Figure 14, the upper cover wall 75a, which is part of the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b, is located lower than the upper cover wall 72a, which is part of the condenser-side cylindrical portion 77a. Also, the lower cover wall 75b, which is part of the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b, is at the same height as the lower cover wall 72b, which is part of the condenser-side cylindrical portion 77a. Furthermore, the distance between the front cover wall 75c and the rear cover wall 75d in the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b is narrower than the distance between the front cover wall 72c and the rear cover wall 72d in the condenser-side cylindrical portion 77a. Therefore, the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b is a smaller cylindrical portion than the condenser-side cylindrical portion 77a. A step is formed between the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b and the condenser-side cylindrical portion 77a on both the inner and outer surfaces of the fixing device 70.
[0056] In addition, in the condenser-side cylindrical section 77a and the blower-side cylindrical section 77b, the upper covering walls 72a, 75a and the lower covering walls 72b, 75b are horizontal. Furthermore, in the condenser-side cylindrical section 77a and the blower-side cylindrical section 77b, the front covering walls 72c, 75c and the rear covering walls 72d, 75d are perpendicular or nearly perpendicular to the upper covering walls 72a, 75a and the lower covering walls 72b, 75b.
[0057] The condenser-side cylindrical portion 77a and the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b, which cover the condenser 50 or blower 60 from multiple directions, are defined as covering portions. Each covering portion is formed from multiple covering walls as described above.
[0058] As shown in Figure 17, four second partition walls 76 are formed inside the rectangular cylindrical blower-side section 77b that surrounds the blower 60. The locations of the second partition walls 76 are the four points where the upper covering wall 75a connects to the front covering wall 75c, where the upper covering wall 75a connects to the rear covering wall 75d, where the lower covering wall 75b connects to the front covering wall 75c, and where the lower covering wall 75b connects to the rear covering wall 75d, which are the inner corners of the blower-side section 77b.
[0059] The inner surface of the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b, to the left of the four second partition walls 76 (towards the compressor 37), is shaped to accommodate the frame member 62 of the blower 60. Multiple claws 69 protrude inward from the left (compressor 37) opening end of the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b.
[0060] As shown in Figures 13 and 15, the first partition wall 71 and the second partition wall 76 are separated in the left-right direction. The first partition wall 71 and the second partition wall 76 are partition walls that separate the condenser 50 side from the blower 60 around the air passage inside the fixing device 70.
[0061] As shown in Figure 14, an inclined plate portion 56 is formed on the upper part of the fixing device 70, connecting the upper covering wall 75a of the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b and the upper covering wall 72a of the condenser-side cylindrical portion 77a. The inclined plate portion 56 is inclined with respect to the upper covering walls 75a and 72a. The inclined plate portion 56 is located between the first partition wall 71 and the second partition wall 76 in the left-right direction. In addition, the inclined plate portion 56 is located between the two first partition walls 71 in the front-rear direction.
[0062] As shown in Figures 13 to 15, the lower end and rear portion of the fixing device 70 is provided with a plurality of protruding parts 78 that extend toward the rear. Specifically, the protruding parts 78 are provided on the rear portion of the lower covering wall 72b on the condenser 50 side and on the lower end and rear end of the blower side cylindrical portion 77b.
[0063] Furthermore, as shown in Figures 13 to 17, a small plate 79 protruding downward is provided at the lower front end of the fixing device 70, or more specifically, at the lower front end of the lower cover wall 72b on the condenser 50 side. The small plate 79 is a plate perpendicular to the front-to-back direction. A screw hole 79b is formed in the small plate 79 into which a screw 79a, described later, is inserted.
[0064] As shown in Figure 18, the condenser 50 and the blower 60 are attached to the fixing device 70 from opposite sides, with the first partition wall 71 and the second partition wall 76 in between. Since the fixing device 70 is cylindrical, the condenser 50 is attached to one opening of the cylinder, and the blower 60 is attached to the other opening. The mounting structure will now be explained.
[0065] The condenser 50 is inserted into the condenser-side cylindrical portion 77a from the right side. The second plate portions 53b and 54b of the end plates 53 and 54 of the condenser 50 (the second plate portions 53b and 54b are also the left end faces of the condenser 50) extend along the first partition walls 71 on both the front and rear sides, as shown in Figure 8, and are in surface contact with or close proximity to the first partition walls 71 on both the front and rear sides. This makes it difficult for air to leak from the air passage from the condenser 50 to the blower 60. The upper and lower ends of the second plate portions 53b and 54b are in surface contact with or close proximity to the first partition walls 71.
[0066] Furthermore, a protrusion 74 (see Figures 15 and 16) formed on the first partition wall 71 of the fixing device 70 is inserted into a hole 53e (see Figure 9) in the second plate portion 53b of the condenser 50. By inserting the protrusion 74 into the hole 53e, the condenser 50 is made less likely to move up, down, forward, and backward relative to the fixing device 70. As a result, the end plates 53 and 54 of the condenser 50 are less likely to collide with the inner surface of the condenser-side cylindrical portion 77a of the fixing device 70.
[0067] Furthermore, as shown in Figures 6 and 8, the curved portion 52b of the pipe 52 of the condenser 50 is held by pipe holding portions 73 formed on each of the two first partition walls 71 of the fixing device 70. By holding the curved portion 52b in the pipe holding portions 73, the condenser 50 becomes less likely to move relative to the fixing device 70, and the first partition walls 71 of the fixing device 70 and the second plate portions 53b and 54b of the condenser 50 become less likely to separate. The structure in which the pipe holding portions 73 hold the curved portion 52b is a separation suppression structure that prevents the first partition walls 71 of the fixing device 70 and the second plate portions 53b and 54b of the condenser 50 from separating.
[0068] Furthermore, as shown in Figures 4 and 7, the lower covering wall 72b of the condenser-side cylindrical portion 77a of the fixing device 70 extends below the condenser 50 to the right end of the condenser 50 (the end opposite to the first partition wall 71), and further extends to the right beyond the right end of the condenser 50. As a result, the lower covering wall 72b covers the entire condenser 50 from below. In addition, the lower covering wall 72b is in contact with or close to the lower end of the heat exchange plate 51, which is the lower part of the condenser 50.
[0069] Furthermore, as shown in Figures 4 and 6, spaces are formed between the upper cover wall 72a, the front cover wall 72c, and the rear cover wall 72d of the condenser-side cylindrical section 77a and the condenser 50. Also, as shown in Figure 7, a space is formed between the inclined plate section 56 and the condenser 50.
[0070] As shown in Figure 8, in the condenser 50 attached to the fixture 70, each heat exchange plate 51 extends perpendicular to the front-to-back direction, in other words, it extends in the up-and-down direction and the left-to-right direction (the left-to-right direction is also the direction in which the condenser 50 and the blower 60 are aligned). The airflow path formed between adjacent heat exchange plates 51 extends in the left-to-right direction, that is, in the direction in which the condenser 50 and the blower 60 are aligned, and therefore extends in the direction in which the air generated by the blower 60 flows. As a result, air can easily pass between adjacent heat exchange plates 51.
[0071] Furthermore, the blower 60 is fitted into the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b of the fixing device 70 from the left side (compressor 37 side). The right side (condenser 50 side) of the frame member 62 of the blower 60 is in contact with the second partition wall 76 inside the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b. As described above, the first partition wall 71 and the second partition wall 76 are separated in the left-right direction, so as shown in Figures 7 and 8, the condenser 50 and the blower 60 are separated by the space between the first partition wall 71 and the second partition wall 76. Also, as shown in Figure 5, the blower 60 is held in place by the claw 69 of the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b to prevent it from coming out to the left side (compressor 37 side).
[0072] The blower 60 is fitted into the inner surface of the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b. The air passing inside the fixing device 70 passes inside the circular opening 68 of the frame member 62 of the blower 60 (i.e., the part where the blades 63 rotate). The frame member 62 of the blower 60 is fitted into the inner surface of the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b. The blower body 61 of the blower 60 is not in contact with any part of the fixing device 70, including the blower-side cylindrical portion 77b.
[0073] Next, the structure related to the evaporation dish 41 will be explained based on Figures 19 to 21.
[0074] The evaporation tray 41 is a tray into which defrost water generated by defrosting the first cooler 30 and the second cooler 33 flows down to the machine room 36 through an unillustrated water channel and collects. The evaporation tray 41 is formed by a bottom 42a and a wall 42b that rises from the edge (side) of the bottom 42a and encircles the bottom 42a, with water accumulating inside. The inside of the evaporation tray 41 is the area enclosed by the wall 42b, from the top of the wall 42b to the top surface of the bottom 42a.
[0075] A pipe 46 (a pipe that introduces refrigerant to the condenser 50) connecting the compressor 37 and the condenser 50 passes inside the evaporation dish 41. The fact that the pipe 46 passes inside the evaporation dish 41 means that at least a portion of the pipe 46 is inside the evaporation dish 41. The refrigerant that leaves the compressor 37 and is sent to the condenser 50 passes through the inside of the pipe 46.
[0076] As shown in Figures 19 and 21, the evaporating dish 41 is provided with a pipe fixing portion 44 for fixing the pipe 46 to the evaporating dish 41. The location of the pipe fixing portion 44 is below the assembly 40, and more specifically, it is below the assembly 40 and further back than the center in the front-to-back direction of the evaporating dish 41.
[0077] The pipe fixing portion 44 consists of two opposing claw portions 44a and a vibration-damping member 45 held between the two claw portions 44a.
[0078] As shown in Figure 21, the claw portion 44a is formed from a vertically oriented plate portion 44b that extends upward from the bottom 42a of the evaporation tray 41, and an inclined plate portion 44c that extends diagonally downward from the upper end of the vertically oriented plate portion 44b toward the opposing claw portion 44a. The vibration-damping member 45 is held between these two claw portions 44a. Because the inclined plate portion 44c extends from the tip of the vertically oriented plate portion 44b, the vibration-damping member 45 held between the two claw portions 44a is less likely to come loose upwards. In addition, when an operator installs the vibration-damping member 45 between the two claw portions 44a, the operator can install it simply by pushing the vibration-damping member 45 from above between the two claw portions 44a.
[0079] The vibration-damping member 45 is a cylindrical member that extends in the left-right direction along the surface of the claw portion 44a, which has a predetermined length in the left-right direction. As shown in Figure 20, a through hole 45a is formed in the center of the vibration-damping member 45, extending in the same direction as the extension direction of the vibration-damping member 45. A pipe 46 passes through the inside of this through hole 45a.
[0080] A notch 45b is formed on the outer surface of the vibration-damping member 45, extending from the outer surface to the through-hole 45a. The pipe 46 is inserted into the through-hole 45a through this notch 45b. The notch 45b is wider on the outer surface side of the vibration-damping member 45 and narrower on the through-hole 45a side. Therefore, the worker can insert the pipe 46 into the through-hole 45a by pushing the pipe 46 from the outer surface of the notch 45b toward the through-hole 45a.
[0081] The vibration-damping member 45 and the pipe 46 passing through it are kept horizontal. The position of the notch 45b is adjusted so that it does not appear between the two opposing claw portions 44a when viewed from above. For example, as shown in Figure 21, the notch 45b is adjusted to face sideways so that it is not visible between the two claw portions 44a when viewed from above.
[0082] The vibration-damping member 45 has a vibration-damping effect. This effect refers to the ability to suppress the transmission of vibrations from the pipe 46 passing through the through-hole 45a to the surrounding area of the vibration-damping member 45. In addition, the vibration-damping member 45 has a cushioning effect.
[0083] The vibration-damping member 45 is preferably made of an elastic and flexible material. Examples of materials that make up the vibration-damping member 45 include elastomers such as rubber or soft or foamed synthetic resins. Between the outer surface of the vibration-damping member 45 and the through hole 45a, a plurality of holes 48 extending in the same direction as the through hole 45a are formed. These holes 48 make the vibration-damping member 45 more elastic and flexible.
[0084] The pipe 46, extending from the compressor 37, bends and winds around the inside of the evaporator dish 41, then extends upward to reach the notch 53f of the condenser 50. Inside the evaporator dish 41 and below the assembly 40, the pipe 46 passes through the through-hole 45a of the vibration-damping member 45 in the pipe fixing part 44, thereby fixing the pipe 46 to the evaporator dish 41.
[0085] Furthermore, as shown in Figures 19 and 21, multiple protrusions 43a are provided above the upper end of the rear wall 42b of the evaporation dish 41. Each of these protrusions 43a has an insertion hole 43 that opens toward the front. These insertion holes 43 are holes into which the protruding portion 78 of the fixing device 70 is inserted, as will be explained next.
[0086] As shown in Figure 19, the base 39 on which the compressor 37 and the evaporator tray 41 are mounted has a wall 39a erected at its front end. Holes 39b are formed in the wall 39a through which screws 79a, described later, are passed.
[0087] The assembly 40, formed by attaching the condenser 50 and blower 60 to the fixing device 70, is mounted on top of the evaporation dish 41. The underside of the fixing device 70, which is also the underside of the assembly 40 (more specifically, the underside of the lower covering walls 72b and 75b), is in contact with the upper end of wall 42b of the evaporation dish 41.
[0088] To install it, the worker first inserts the protruding parts 78 of the fastener 70 that extend to the rear into the respective insertion holes 43 provided on the rear wall 42b of the evaporating tray 41. During insertion, the worker pushes the assembly 40 to the rear and brings the small plate 79 at the front end of the fastener 70 into contact with the wall 39a erected at the front end of the base 39 from the front side. Next, the worker passes the screw 79a (see Figure 3), which serves as the fastener, through the screw hole 79b of the small plate 79 of the fastener 70 and the hole 39b formed in the front wall 39a of the base 39, and fastens it with a screw. In this way, the fastener 70 is attached to the machine room 36, and the entire assembly 40 is fixed to the machine room 36.
[0089] In this configuration, when the blades 63 of the blower 60 rotate, air entering the machine room 36 from the right side passes between adjacent heat exchange plates 51 in the condenser 50, and heat exchange takes place between the air and the heat exchange plates 51. The heat-exchanged air passes inside the circular opening 68 of the blower 60 and is sent to the compressor 37, where it cools the compressor 37. The air that has cooled the compressor 37 is discharged from the left side to the outside of the machine room 36. From this airflow, the right side in this embodiment can be described as the upstream side of the airflow, and the left side in this embodiment as the downstream side of the airflow.
[0090] The effects of the above embodiment will now be explained. In this embodiment, the blower 60 and the condenser 50 are attached to a fixing device 70, and the fixing device 70 is attached to the machine room 36. Therefore, the blower 60 and the condenser 50 can be easily installed in the machine room 36. In addition, the work of installing the blower 60 and the condenser 50 in the narrow machine room 36 is generally difficult, but in this embodiment, the worker only needs to install the fixing device 70 in the machine room 36, so the blower 60 and the condenser 50 can be easily installed in the machine room 36. Because the blower 60 and the condenser 50 can be easily installed in the machine room 36 in this way, the productivity of the refrigerator 10 is good.
[0091] Furthermore, since the blower 60 and the condenser 50 are attached to a single fixture 70, the distance between the blower 60 and the condenser 50 can be reduced, allowing the air generated by the blower 60 to flow efficiently to the condenser 50.
[0092] Furthermore, in this embodiment, a fixing device 70, which is a component for attaching the blower 60 to the machine room 36, is used, and not only the blower 60 but also the condenser 50 is attached to the fixing device 70. Therefore, there is no need to prepare a separate component from the fixing device 70 to attach the blower 60 and the condenser 50 to the machine room 36, resulting in improved productivity for the refrigerator 10.
[0093] Furthermore, the fixing device 70 is provided with partition walls 71 and 76 that separate the blower 60 and the condenser 50, and the blower 60 and the condenser 50 are attached to each other from opposite sides with the partition walls 71 and 76 in between. This structure allows for maintaining an appropriate distance between the blower 60 and the condenser 50, and also makes it easy for workers to attach the blower 60 and the condenser 50 to the fixing device 70.
[0094] Furthermore, since the fixing device 70 is cylindrical, with the condenser 50 provided on one opening side of the cylinder and the blower 60 on the other opening side, it is possible to suppress air from escaping outside the fixing device 70 between the condenser 50 and the blower 60.
[0095] Furthermore, since the condenser 50 is positioned so that the direction in which the heat exchange plates 51 extend is the same as the direction in which the blower 60 and the condenser 50 are aligned, air can easily pass between adjacent heat exchange plates 51. As a result, sufficient heat exchange occurs in the heat exchange plates 51.
[0096] Furthermore, in the condenser 50, end plates 53 and 54 are provided on the outside of the area where the multiple heat exchange plates 51 are arranged and on both sides in the direction in which the multiple heat exchange plates 51 are arranged. These end plates 53 and 54 each have a first plate portion 53a and 54a extending in the same direction as the heat exchange plates 51, and a second plate portion 53b and 54b that is curved relative to the first plate portion 53a and 54a. The second plate portions 53b and 54b extend along the first partition wall 71 of the fixing device 70. Due to this configuration, it is difficult for air to pass between the second plate portions 53b and 54b of the condenser 50 and the first partition wall 71 of the fixing device 70. As a result, it is possible to suppress air from passing between the condenser 50 and the fixing device 70 and escaping to the outside of the fixing device 70, and air to the right of the blower 60 can be efficiently directed to the left side (compressor 37 side).
[0097] Furthermore, since the pipe 52 of the condenser 50 is held by the pipe holding portion 73 of the fixing device 70, the second plate portions 53b and 54b of the condenser 50 and the first partition wall 71 of the fixing device 70 are less likely to separate. As a result, air is less likely to pass between the second plate portions 53b and 54b of the condenser 50 and the first partition wall 71 of the fixing device 70. In addition, since the condenser 50 is firmly fixed in its proper position on the fixing device 70, the positional relationship between the condenser 50 and the blower 60 is properly maintained.
[0098] Furthermore, it is not always easy to precisely bend the second plate portions 53b and 54b of the condenser 50 at a desired angle relative to the first plate portions 53a and 54a, and to make the second plate portions 53b and 54b parallel to the first partition wall 71 of the fixing device 70. Therefore, when the second plate portions 53b and 54b of the condenser 50 are aligned with the first partition wall 71 of the fixing device 70 as described above, it may not be easy to bring the second plate portions 53b and 54b into surface contact or close proximity with the first partition wall 71. Even in such cases, the pipe holding portion 73 holds the curved portion 52b, making it easier to maintain the second plate portions 53b and 54b in surface contact or close proximity with the first partition wall 71.
[0099] Furthermore, the pipe holding portion 73 of the fixing device 70 protrudes from the first partition wall 71 of the fixing device 70 toward the condenser 50, and has a roughly U-shaped form with its tip opening toward the condenser 50, into which the curved portion 52b of the pipe 52 in the condenser 50 fits. Therefore, the worker can easily fit the curved portion 52b of the pipe 52 into the pipe holding portion 73 simply by pushing the condenser 50 toward the first partition wall 71.
[0100] Furthermore, in the fixing device 70, four covering walls 72a, 72b, 72c, and 72d extend from the first partition wall 71 toward the condenser 50, and these covering walls 72a, 72b, 72c, and 72d are connected to form a rectangular cylindrical condenser-side section 77a that surrounds the condenser 50. Because the condenser 50 is surrounded by the condenser-side section 77a in this way, the condenser 50 is protected, and heat exchange can easily occur between the air entering the condenser-side section 77a and the condenser 50.
[0101] Furthermore, one of the covering walls, the lower covering wall 72b, extends below the condenser 50 to the end opposite the first partition wall 71 in the region where the heat exchange plates 51 are lined up. This prevents the heat exchange plates 51 from bending due to contact with components below the condenser 50. It also prevents air that has entered between adjacent heat exchange plates 51 from escaping below the heat exchange plates 51.
[0102] Furthermore, the covering walls 72a, 72c, and 72d, other than the lower covering wall 72b, are shorter in length in the left-right direction than the lower covering wall 72b. In addition, the portion of the condenser 50 opposite to the first partition wall 71 is exposed and not covered by the covering walls 72a, 72c, and 72d other than the lower covering wall 72b. As a result, the condenser 50 is more easily exposed to a larger amount of surrounding air, and the heat exchange efficiency in the condenser 50 is improved.
[0103] Furthermore, because there is space between the covering walls 72a, 72c, and 72d (other than the lower covering wall 72b) and the condenser 50, heat exchange can easily occur between the air in that space and the condenser 50, resulting in high heat exchange efficiency in the condenser 50.
[0104] Furthermore, a pipe 46 connecting the compressor 37 and the condenser 50 passes inside the evaporator dish 41, and a pipe fixing part 44 for fixing the pipe 46 to the evaporator dish 41 is provided inside the evaporator dish 41. This makes it easier to maintain the appropriate position of the pipe 46 inside the evaporator dish 41, so as to reduce noise generated by the compressor 37 and pipe 46 vibrating and the pipe 46 hitting the evaporator dish 41.
[0105] Furthermore, since the assembly 40, which consists of the condenser 50 and the blower 60 attached to the fixing device 70, is located above the evaporation dish 41, it is difficult for the worker to check the distance between the evaporation dish 41 and the pipe 46 that passes inside it after installing the assembly 40 during the manufacture of the refrigerator 10. However, since the pipe fixing part 44 fixes the pipe 46, and the distance between the pipe 46 and the evaporation dish 41 is easily maintained appropriately, there is no problem even if the worker cannot check the distance between the pipe 46 and the evaporation dish 41.
[0106] Furthermore, because the machine room 36 is narrow, it is difficult for workers to install the assembly 40, especially at the back of the machine room 36. However, in this embodiment, the evaporating tray 41 has an insertion hole 43 that opens toward the front of the machine room 36, and the fixing device 70 that constitutes the assembly 40 is provided with a protruding part 78 that protrudes toward the back of the machine room 36. The assembly 40 is then installed in the machine room 36 by inserting the protruding part 78 into the insertion hole 43. With this configuration, the assembly 40 can be installed in the machine room 36 with a simple operation: the worker pushes the assembly 40 toward the back so that the protruding part 78 is inserted into the insertion hole 43.
[0107] Furthermore, since the fasteners 70 that make up the assembly 40 are fixed to the machine room 36 by screws 79a, the assembly 40 is less likely to rattle. Also, noise due to vibration of the assembly 40 is less likely to occur. In addition, since the small plate 79 provided at the front end of the fastener 70 and the wall 39a erected at the front end of the base 39 are fixed by screws 79a, the assembly 40 can be easily attached to the machine room 36 by a worker performing a simple task of turning the screws 79a using a power tool or the like at the front of the machine room 36.
[0108] Furthermore, since the assembly 40 is placed above the evaporation dish 41, when water accumulates in the evaporation dish 41 below the assembly 40, it becomes more difficult for air to pass under the assembly 40, allowing sufficient air to pass through the condenser 50 more easily. Also, even when there is not enough water in the evaporation dish 41, the pipe 46 located inside the evaporation dish 41 and exposed above the water surface obstructs the airflow, making it more difficult for air to pass under the assembly 40, allowing sufficient air to pass through the condenser 50 more easily. As a result, the heat exchange efficiency in the condenser 50 is good.
[0109] Various modifications can be made to the above embodiments. Any one of the modification examples described below can be applied to the above embodiments, or two or more modification examples can be arbitrarily combined and applied to the above embodiments.
[0110] First, various separation suppression structures can be described as structures that prevent the separation of the first partition walls 71 on both the front and rear sides of the fixing device 70 and the second plate portions 53b and 54b of the front and rear end plates 53 and 54 of the condenser 50. The above structure in which the pipe holding portion 73 of the fixing device 70 holds the curved portion 52b of the pipe 52 of the condenser 50 is also a separation suppression structure, but in addition to or instead of this, another separation suppression structure may be provided.
[0111] For example, a separation-restricting shape that prevents the second plate portions 53b and 54b of the condenser 50 from separating from the first partition wall 71 of the fixing device 70 may be formed on the side of the second plate portions 53b and 54b or on the side of the first partition wall 71 (preferably on the side of the first partition wall 71).
[0112] As a specific example, as shown in Figure 22, groove-forming sections 80 are provided as separation-suppressing sections on the first partition walls 71 on both the front and rear sides of the fixing device 70. The grooves formed by the groove-forming sections 80 open toward the first plate sections 53a and 54a of the condenser 50 and extend in the vertical direction. The separation-suppressing structure is realized when the second plate sections 53b and 54b, which extend in the vertical direction in the condenser 50, are inserted into these grooves.
[0113] The separation suppression structure may also be a structure that uses additional members to suppress the separation of the first partition walls 71 at the front and rear of the fixing device 70 and the second plate portions 53b and 54b of the heat exchange plate 51. For example, a screw may be used as the additional member, and the separation suppression structure may be realized by passing the screw through the first partition wall 71 and the second plate portions 53b and 54b to fix the first partition wall 71 and the second plate portions 53b and 54b.
[0114] Furthermore, the location where the protruding portion 78 of the fixing device 70 is inserted is not limited to the insertion hole 43 provided in the evaporation tray 41. For example, an insertion hole may be provided in a different location from the evaporation tray 41, opening toward the front of the machine room 36, and the protruding portion 78 of the fixing device 70 may be inserted into that insertion hole.
[0115] Furthermore, if the insertion hole into which the protruding portion 78 of the fixing device 70 is inserted is provided in the evaporation dish 41, the location of the insertion hole in the evaporation dish 41 may be anywhere on the evaporation dish 41, but it is preferable that it be above the upper limit of the water accumulation, for example, as described above, it is preferable that it be a location that protrudes above the upper end of the wall 42b surrounding the area where water accumulates.
[0116] Furthermore, the location where the small plate 79 of the fixing device 70 is attached with screws or other fasteners is not limited and can be any location in the machine room 36, such as the wall 42b on the front side of the evaporating tray 41. However, attaching the small plate 79 to the wall 39a erected at the front end of the base 39 as described above is preferable as it makes screw tightening and other operations easier.
[0117] Furthermore, the front-to-back and left-to-right directions in the machine room 36 of the above embodiment can be changed to other directions as appropriate. For example, the arrangement of the compressor 37, evaporator 41, blower 60, condenser 50, etc., can be reversed left to right. [Explanation of Symbols]
