AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing fluid flow sensors suffer from inaccuracies due to sensitivity to pressure fluctuations, electromagnetic interference, and material stress, particularly in harsh conditions, limiting their effectiveness in measuring fluid flow rates accurately.

Method used

A system comprising a rotor with vanes of varying reflectivity coefficients and an optical module positioned perpendicularly to the rotor's axis, minimizing turbulence and load loss, which measures fluid flow by detecting rotor speed through reflected light radiation.

Benefits of technology

The system provides accurate and reliable fluid flow rate measurements, even in harsh conditions, with reduced interference and load loss, suitable for heterogeneous fluids, and can measure additional parameters like temperature and pressure.

Abstract

We provide a system for measuring the flow rate of fluids, including liquids. [Solution] The present invention relates to a system (11) for measuring the flow rate of a liquid-containing fluid, comprising a body (1100) through which a fluid flows, at least one rotor (1101) configured to be rotated by the fluid, and a device (111) for measuring the rotational speed of the rotor (1101). The measuring device (111) comprises an optical module (1111) configured to transmit incident light to the vanes (1101b) of the rotor (1101) in a direction substantially perpendicular to the rotation axis (A) of the rotor (1101), and to receive reflected light from the vanes (1101b). The measuring device (111) further comprises a conversion module (1113) configured to determine the rotational speed of the rotor (1101) and the flow rate of the fluid in accordance with the reflected light emission.
