Abstract

The present invention provides a fault location identification device, an image forming apparatus, a fault location identification method, and a fault location identification program that can easily and quickly identify the fault location causing streaks in FDs without replacing parts, while reducing the number of waste papers. [Solution] The system comprises an image processing unit 18 that performs predetermined image processing on input image data to form image data for printing, an image forming unit 40 that forms an image, which is a toner image, on paper based on the image data, a reading unit (second paper reading unit 50) that reads the output paper transported from the image forming unit 40, and a control unit 11 that can set multiple image forming modes that differ in the components that contribute to image formation. The control unit 11 forms an image on the same paper using the set multiple image forming modes, and identifies a faulty component that generates an abnormal image among the components based on the image read by the reading unit for the image formed on the same paper.
