Application programs and home appliance control devices

Abstract

To enable home appliances that cannot connect to the network to receive similar or comparable services to those that can connect. [Solution] An application program to be executed by a computer in a terminal device equipped with an output unit, which is connected via a network to a server device that manages usage information for using multiple home appliances, the application program to be executed by the computer, which performs the following steps: a first extension processing step of registering a first home appliance that can connect to the network in the terminal device, thereby obtaining a first extension program corresponding to the first home appliance from the server device, and executing the extension function of the first home appliance; and a second extension processing step of registering a second home appliance that cannot connect to the network in the terminal device, thereby obtaining a second extension program corresponding to the second home appliance from the server device, and executing a pseudo-extension function of the second home appliance that is similar to the extension function.
