Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to spectacles with a simplified hinge for the temples. More specifically, the invention relates to spectacles with a hinge that allows the temples to be connected to the spectacles in a simplified manner. [Background technology]
[0002] As is well known, the connection between the temples and the spectacles, or rather the front part of the spectacles, occurs by means of a hinge that connects the front part of the spectacles to one end of the temples. The connection between the front part and the temples by the hinge usually involves the use of small parts such as screws, bushings, rivets, etc., that allow such a connection.
[0003] The use of screws usually constitutes a problem when the wearer has to remove the temples, as this often requires the use of a professional optician, and in addition, such parts can be subject to wear and can be lost by the wearer of the glasses.
[0004] In other cases, spot welds may be used, which may be detrimental to the finishing process as they introduce surface irregularities that may affect the appearance of the hinge.
[0005] In either case, the connection between the temples and the front of the glasses can be fragile as the hinge is the component that is often subjected to significant loads resulting from repeated opening and closing of the hinge and excessive opening of the temples outwardly of the front of the glasses.
[0006] To achieve a good level of structural performance, such parts often have dimensions that affect the appearance of the temples and the overall appearance of the eyeglasses.
[0007] Indeed, in the case of temples with minimalist appearance and reduced diameter, the presence of a hinge of large dimensions may detract from the intended design. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0008] The goal of the present invention is to provide eyeglasses in which a connection hinge between the front and temples of the eyeglasses is provided in such a way that it does not require the use of parts such as screws, rivets, bushings, etc. for the connection between the temples and the front.
[0009] Within this goal, it is an object of the present invention to provide spectacles whose temples can be connected to the front part of the spectacles by means of hinges integrated into the front part of the spectacles.
[0010] Another object of the present invention is to provide eyeglasses in which a connecting hinge between the front and temples of the eyeglasses is provided without requiring the use of spot welding or adhesive bonding for the connection between the temples and the front.
[0011] Another object of the present invention is to provide a pair of spectacles in which the temples can be connected to the front part of the spectacles by means of hinges, by a simple and quick process that does not affect the manufacturing time.
[0012] Another object of the invention is to provide eyeglasses having hinges that are extremely robust, so that the connection between the temples and the front of the eyeglasses can be subjected to heavy use without risk of breakage.
[0013] Another object of the present invention is to provide a pair of glasses in which the connecting hinge between the temples and the front portion has minimal effect on the overall appearance of the glasses.
[0014] Another object of the invention is to provide a pair of spectacles in which the connecting hinge between the temples and the front part can be adapted to match and optionally to decorate the appearance of the front part.
[0015] Another object of the present invention is to provide eyeglasses that are highly reliable, easy and practical to implement, and low cost. [Means for solving the problem]
[0016] This goal as well as these and other objects which will become more apparent hereinafter are achieved by a pair of spectacles having a simplified hinge, comprising a front portion of a pair of temples, said front portion defining a cavity for receiving a retaining and locking element adapted to be engaged by a hook-shaped portion at one end of each of said temples, said retaining and locking element adapted to be received in said cavity of said front portion when coupled to said hook-shaped ends of the temples to connect said temples to said front portion.
[0017] Further features and advantages of the invention will become more apparent from the description of preferred, but not exclusive, embodiments of the spectacles according to the invention, shown by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings, in which: [Brief description of the drawings]

FIG. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0019] With reference to the figures in which like reference numbers indicate like elements, a pair of spectacles according to the invention, generally designated by the reference number 1, in a first embodiment thereof comprises a front part 2 adapted to be connected to a pair of temples 3.
[0020] The connection between the front part 2 and the temple 3 occurs by means of the presence in the front part 3 of a substantially semicircular cavity or seat 4 which is provided in its base region with a slot 5 .
[0021] Advantageously, the temple 3 is shaped with one end as a hook 6. The temple 3 is advantageously twisted with a twist 7 such that the hook-shaped portion 6 lies on a horizontal plane whilst the body of the temple, the opposite end which will rest on the user's ear, is twisted and resides in a plane perpendicular to the plane in which the hook-shaped portion 6 is defined.
[0022] The hook-shaped portion 6 is shaped to have a cavity 8 with substantially parallel faces 8 .
[0023] Advantageously, the hinge is made with a retaining and locking element, for example a substantially spherical element 9 consisting of two hemispheres 9a and 9b interconnected by a pin 10. The pin 10 is adapted to engage in a cavity 8 of the temple 3, in particular in the hook-shaped portion 6 of the temple.
[0024] A substantially spherical element 9 is adapted to be received within the cavity 4 . 2 to 8 show how the temple 3 is attached to the front part 2 of the spectacles. Advantageously, in this embodiment, a cavity 4 is defined in the front region of the front part 2.
[0025] Figure 4 shows that the temple 3 is inserted into the slit 5 of the cavity 4 in order to protrude outwards of the opposite, front part 2. At this point, the substantially spherical element 9 is inserted into the hook-shaped part 6, in particular the partition 10 of the substantially spherical element 9 being received in the cavity 8 of the hook-shaped part 6, as shown in figures 4 to 6.
[0026] Once insertion is complete, the temple 3 is retracted so that the substantially spherical element 9 is located in the cavity 4 of the front part 2, to reach the configuration shown in Figure 7. In this situation, the temple is not yet locked in place. Locking in place occurs by rotating the temple around the pin 10.
[0027] In this situation, ie after rotating the temple 3, it is brought into the position of FIG. 9, in which the contour of the temple 3 coincides with that of the front part 2 of the glasses and the temple is therefore in its maximum open state.
[0028] In a second embodiment of the invention, shown in Figures 11 to 13, a substantially spherical element 9 is instead connected to the hook-shaped portion 6 of the temple 3 before the temple is inserted into the cavity 4 of the front part 2 of the spectacles.
[0029] Once the substantially spherical element 9 is connected to the hook-shaped portion 6, the temple is fitted from the front part of the front part 2 through the slit 5 into the cavity 4, as shown in FIG. 12, and then pulled from the opposite side until the substantially spherical element 9 is received in the cavity 4 of the front part 2 of the spectacles.
[0030] In the second embodiment, the temple 3 and the retaining and locking element 9 may be made in a single piece.
[0031] The third embodiment of the present invention, shown in Figures 14 to 22, is substantially similar to the previous embodiment, with the only difference being that the cavity 4 is defined in the rear portion 15 instead of in the front part of the front part 2.
[0032] In other respects, both the temple 3 and the substantially spherical element 9 correspond entirely to the previous embodiment, as does the assembly resulting from the steps shown for the first embodiment.
[0033] Essentially, therefore, a pair of spectacles with a simplified hinge according to the invention has temples with hook-shaped ends adapted to receive a substantially spherical element, which in turn is adapted to be received in a cavity defined in either the front part of the front of the spectacles or in one of its side regions.
[0034] In all embodiments, the cavity 4 is shaped to have a diameter D1 that is smaller than the diameter D2 of the substantially spherical element 9, such that the connection of the element 9 within the cavity 4 occurs by means of an interference fit.
[0035] It has in fact been found that the spectacles according to the invention fully achieve the aims and objectives set out for them, making it possible to carry out a very simple assembly of the temples and the front part, the temples being placed relative to the front part without resorting to the use of tools, such that such an operation can be carried out directly by the user, thus without having to resort to a specialized technician.
[0036] Eyeglasses so created are susceptible to numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims.
[0037] Moreover, all the details may be replaced by other technically equivalent elements. In fact, the materials used and the incidental shapes and dimensions may be any according to the needs and circumstances of the art.
[0038] The disclosures of Italian Patent Application No. 102019000012234, from which this application claims priority, are incorporated herein by reference.
[0039] Although technical features recited in the claims are followed by reference signs, these reference signs are included merely for the purpose of facilitating the understanding of the claims, and therefore such reference signs do not have the effect of limiting the interpretation of the respective elements illustrated by such reference signs.
