Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a medical information linking system, a medical information linking method, and a computer program for medical information linking, and in particular to a linking system, a medical information linking method, and a computer program for medical information linking for sharing medical information among multiple facilities. [Background technology]
[0002] In the past, individual patient medical information at medical institutions, pharmacies, etc. was recorded in paper medical records and paper medication histories. Nowadays, electronic medical records and electronic medication history systems are mainly used, and medical information is sometimes shared electronically within a single medical institution or within a group of medical institutions and dispensing pharmacies in the same affiliation. However, for example, when one hospital provides medical information to another hospital outside the affiliation, paper media such as referral letters and printed test result data are still often used. In addition, facilities such as special nursing homes for the elderly have been slow to adopt digital systems, and most resident information is still managed on paper, which can make it difficult to manage medical information for long-term residents. Patent Document 1 describes a medical information linkage system that converts paper medical records into electronic data. Patent Document 2 describes an information processing device that reduces the burden of creating medical documents, and Patent Document 3 describes an information processing device that creates an electronic reply to a referral letter received from a medical institution. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0003] [Patent Document 1] Patent No. 5214277 [Patent Document 2] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2015-138459 [Patent Document 3] Patent No. 6772814 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] However, the system described in Patent Document 1 requires that paper medical records be written in a predetermined format, making it less versatile and unable to accommodate general paper medical records. Currently, individual medical institutions such as hospitals often have their own highly computerized in-house systems, such as electronic medical record systems. Therefore, when sharing medical information between multiple facilities, information that has once been recorded on paper at one facility cannot be directly linked to the electronic medical record system at that facility at another facility. Even with the information processing devices described in Patent Documents 2 and 3, in order for information recorded on general paper media to be effectively used at other facilities, manual input is ultimately required, or medical information recorded on paper media cannot be effectively used in the first place.
[0005] For example, suppose a patient who normally receives treatment at a certain clinic (hereafter referred to as the "hospital") and whose test results, including blood test values, are managed by the clinic suddenly becomes ill on December 1st and is admitted to another clinic. After undergoing tests and receiving treatment at the other clinic, the patient is discharged on January 1st of the following year and begins treatment at the clinic again. While there may be fluctuations in a certain blood test value (y) as shown in Figure 20, the information stored at the clinic may appear as shown in Figure 21. If the patient later develops similar symptoms, even though the symptom occurred once in the past (December), the data displayed on the clinic's system will appear as a connection between two black circles, making it appear as if the blood test value (y) was stable in December of the previous year. Typically, a single blood draw provides dozens of test values, but blood pressure data from other clinics is only reported on paper and doctors can independently check scanned images. Since these data cannot be incorporated into the clinic's data, the valuable test results are not utilized.
[0006] Therefore, the present invention aims to provide a medical information linkage system that can import medical information written on paper, such as blood test results attached to referral letters from other medical institutions and medication instructions issued to patients at other pharmacies, in a format that can be effectively used in highly electronic in-house systems owned by medical institutions, dispensing pharmacies, etc. that receive the paper-based information, while minimizing the burden of manual input by humans. Furthermore, when an in-hospital system is directly linked to an external system or when electronic media are used, there is a risk of malicious programs such as computer viruses entering the system, but when paper media is used, it is safer from an information security perspective. Therefore, by using paper media, etc., rather than directly linking the systems themselves, the system can be protected from malicious programs such as computer viruses, and the system's objective is to provide a medical information linkage system that can fully utilize existing advanced medical systems. Furthermore, while medical information may involve patient privacy, and some parts may need to be disclosed to patients and some may not, the aim is to enable appropriate collaboration of medical information by sharing medical information to the extent necessary while also taking into consideration patient privacy and wishes. [0009] FIG. 1 shows the configuration of a medical information linkage system 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention. The medical information sharing system 1 is a medical information sharing system 1 that shares medical information about patients among two or more facilities. The medical information linking system 1 includes an image processing unit 20, a text conversion unit 30, and a data integration unit . The image processing unit 20 captures images of paper medical charts, medication instruction sheets, etc. with the imaging unit 21, and converts medical information from one facility into image data. The text conversion unit 30 recognizes text portions from within the image data and converts at least a portion of the text into text data. The image data mentioned above refers to medical information written on paper charts, medication instructions, etc., and is in the form of images, but may be text, i.e., information consisting of only characters, or may include graphs, etc. Furthermore, other readable formats, such as Braille, are also included in the image data and image processing unit 20, as long as they are not directly connected electronically. The image processing unit 20 and the text conversion unit 30 may be configured by OCR.
[0010] As shown in FIG. 2, the hospital information includes two or more items such as a first item and a second item. The data integration unit 40 incorporates at least a portion of the image data and text data into two or more items of medical information, such as in-hospital information of other facilities. The incorporated data is sent to the in-hospital information department 2 to which the medical information linkage system 1 is connected. In this way, by using the imaging unit 21 instead of directly connecting to the in-hospital information department 2, viruses contained in the electronic data can be prevented from invading other systems such as the in-hospital information department 2. At the same time, rather than simply saving the captured information as a PDF or the like, the information can be incorporated into two or more items of medical information, such as the electronic medical record or electronic medication history system of the in-hospital information department 2, allowing for effective use of the medical information.
[0011] The medical information linkage system 1 is also provided with a control unit 10. The control unit 10 includes a CPU 11, a main storage device 12, and an auxiliary storage device 13. The main memory device 12 stores a medical information linking computer program for operating each unit, including the image processing unit 20, the text conversion unit 30, and the data integration unit 40. The CPU controls the operation of each unit by expanding the image processing unit 20, the text conversion unit 30, and the data integration unit 40 on the auxiliary memory device 13. It should be noted that electronic data such as blood test values that have already been digitized are different concepts from data systems such as electronic medical records and medication history systems. In this embodiment, the medical information linkage system 1 first converts paper-based data from other hospitals into image data, converts the converted data into electronic data using OCR or the like, and incorporates it into the data system of the hospital, etc., and the medical information linkage computer program causes each part of the medical information linkage system 1 to perform these operations.
[0012] In one embodiment, as shown in FIG. 3, the medical information linking system 1 further includes a display unit 14 and a manual correction unit 37. The display unit 14 displays the text data converted into text by the text conversion unit 30. The operator of the medical information linkage system 1 checks the text data displayed on the display unit 14, and if he or she determines that there is a problem, corrects the text data in the manual correction unit 37. With this configuration, medical information, where a single character error could mean the end of a patient's life, can be checked by a doctor or other professional, ensuring that it is accurately incorporated into the system to which it is to be incorporated.
[0013] In one embodiment, the two or more items include a test result item, as shown in FIG. Test results can be used as objective facts among information related to medical treatment, and can often be used independently. Furthermore, many users want to refer to test results alone. Furthermore, many of the terms used in test result information are distinctive, making them easy to extract. This allows for accurate identification and extraction of information related to test results.
[0014] In one embodiment, the two or more items include a medication information item, as shown in Figure 5. As shown in Figure 6, the two or more items may include both test results and medication information. Please note that medication information is different from prescriptions. Prescriptions are issued by medical institutions and collected by dispensing pharmacies, and are not kept by the patient. In contrast, medication information, including that attached to a medicine notebook, is a simple instruction manual handed to patients when dispensing medication based on a prescription by pharmacies, and is kept by patients. By incorporating in-house information into the institution's own system and reflecting the information, it can be used in hospitals and other facilities.
[0015] In one embodiment, as shown in FIG. 7, the text conversion unit 30 includes a drug information recording unit 32 in which drug information is registered in advance. In busy medical settings, drug names are often scribbled down and cannot be accurately identified using standard OCR, but since approved drug names are known in advance, accurate identification is possible by registering them in advance.
[0016] In one embodiment, as shown in Fig. 8, the text conversion unit 30 has an information processing unit 31 and an image information integration unit 33. The text data created by the information processing unit 31 is pasted onto image data in an electronic medical record or electronic medication history system as shown in Fig. 10. In other words, not only is the text data converted into text data incorporated, but at least the image information converted into text data from the original image information, in other words, the original image information that was the subject of conversion into text data, is also incorporated. Specifically, first, medical information is captured as a captured image as shown in FIG. 9. The captured image has a text portion and an image portion, but both are image information, and the text portion has not yet been converted into text. The information processing unit 31 converts the text portion of the captured image into text, that is, converts it into language information, to create text information. Next, the image information integration unit 33 pastes the text information converted into language information onto the text portion of the original captured image. The pasted text information can be moved by operating a mouse or the like, and the text portion of the original captured image can be referenced as needed. With this configuration, as shown in Figure 10, for example, an example of an electronic medical record, it is possible to read a medical record or electronic medical history that has been neatly transcribed from character information scribbled in a busy medical setting. Furthermore, it is possible for a doctor or other person to add text data to the text data and then use it to read the text. Mistake If you think there is a discrepancy, you can refer to the correct information by checking the image data of the original medical record or medication instructions.
[0017] 11, the data integration unit 40 includes an analysis unit 41 and a data input unit 42. The analysis unit 41 analyzes the items of the electronic medical record or electronic medication history system to which the data is to be incorporated. The data input unit 42 then incorporates the results of the analysis by the analysis unit 41 into the electronic medical record or electronic medication history system to which the data is to be incorporated. For example, by automatically incorporating the data in accordance with the medical record or electronic medical history system into the destination system, such as by extracting characteristic words for each item in the destination medical record or electronic medical history system, and entering those with a certain correlation value or higher with the items in the source medical record into the items in the destination medical record or electronic medical history system, the burden of complicated input work can be reduced.
[0018] In one embodiment, as shown in FIG. 12, the medical information includes two or more of in-hospital information used within a hospital, inter-hospital collaboration information shared between hospitals, and medication information shared between hospitals and pharmacies. There may be cases where patients do not want medical information to be made public to other hospitals, or where the patient themselves does not want the information to be made public. However, with this configuration, by separately organizing in-hospital information, inter-hospital collaboration information, and medication information, medical information can be shared to the extent necessary while also taking into consideration the patient's privacy and wishes, making it possible to appropriately coordinate medical information. In one embodiment, as shown in FIG. 13, the medical information includes a patient-disclosed portion that is disclosed to the patient. With regard to medical information, there may be information that is considered inappropriate for a doctor to disclose to a patient, at least at some point in time. However, with this configuration, by separately configuring the patient disclosure portion that is disclosed to the patient, it becomes possible to link appropriate medical information. In one embodiment, as shown in FIG. 14, the medical information includes a non-disclosure portion and a disclosure portion for each of the medication information, the inter-hospital collaboration information, and the in-hospital information. According to this configuration, medical information can be shared to the extent necessary, and medical information can be disclosed to patients to the extent appropriate.
[0019] In one embodiment, as shown in FIG. 15, the medical information linking system 1 has inter-hospital linking information in addition to medical information for each hospital. Each item in the inter-hospital collaboration information corresponds to each item in the medical information of each hospital.
[0020] FIG. 16 shows the configuration of a medical information linking method in one embodiment of the present invention. The medical information sharing method is a medical information sharing method for sharing medical information about a patient between two or more facilities, and includes an image processing step, a text conversion step, and a data integration step. In the image processing step (S20), medical information from one facility is converted into image data. In the text conversion step (S30), at least a part of the image data is converted into text data. Then, in the data integration step (S40), at least a portion of the image data and text data is incorporated into two or more items of medical information of other facilities.
[0021] FIG. 17 shows the configuration of a medical information linking method in one embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, the process includes a display step (S35) that is performed after the text conversion step and displays the text data, a confirmation step (S36) that has the operator confirm the displayed text data, and a manual correction step (S37) that is performed after the confirmation step and allows the operator to correct any problems with the text data. Specifically, in the display step (S35), the text data is displayed to the operator of the medical information linkage system 1. This allows the operator to confirm whether the text data is correct. If the operator checks the data in the confirmation step (S36) and finds no problems, the system proceeds to the data integration step (S40). If there are problems, the system proceeds to the manual correction step (S37), where the text data is manually corrected, and then the system proceeds to the data integration step (S40).
[0022] In one embodiment, as shown in Fig. 18, the text conversion step (S30) includes an image information integration step (S33) in which, after creating text data in the main text conversion step (S31), the text data created in the information processing step is pasted onto image data of the electronic medical record or electronic medical history as exemplified in Fig. 10. In other words, not only is the text data converted into text data incorporated, but at least the image information converted into text data from the original image information is also incorporated. It is possible to read clean-up medical records or electronic medical histories, which are written in a hurry in busy medical settings. Furthermore, if a doctor thinks that the pasted text data has been misread during conversion, they can refer to the correct information by checking the image data of the original medical record.
[0023] In one embodiment, as shown in FIG. 19, the data integration step (S40) includes an analysis step (S41) for analyzing items in the electronic medical record or electronic medication history system to be incorporated, and a data input step (S41) for incorporating data according to the analysis results of the analysis step (S41). For example, by automatically incorporating the data in accordance with the medical record or electronic medical history system into which it is to be incorporated, such as in the in-hospital information department 2, by extracting characteristic words for each item in the medical record or electronic medical history system into which it is to be incorporated, and entering those that have a correlation of a certain value or more with the items in the medical record or electronic medical history system from which it is to be incorporated into the items in the medical record or electronic medical history system into which it is to be incorporated, it is possible to reduce the burden of tedious input work.
[0024] The medical information linking computer program in one embodiment of the present invention causes the image processing unit 20, the text conversion unit 30, and the data integration unit 40 to perform the above-mentioned operations. The specific program structure is the same as that shown in FIG. 16, so a description thereof will be omitted. This configuration has a data integration step that can be incorporated to match two or more items of medical information from other facilities, making it possible to automate the linking of medical information, which has previously been complicated.
[0025] The medical information linking computer program according to the embodiment of the present invention further causes the display unit 14 and the manual correction unit 37 to perform the above-mentioned operations. The specific program structure is the same as that shown in FIG. 17, so a description thereof will be omitted.
[0026] The computer program for medical information linkage in one embodiment of the present invention further causes the information processing unit 31 to perform the operation of creating text data, and the image information integration unit 33 to perform the operation of pasting the text data created by the information processing unit 31 onto image data of an electronic medical record or electronic medication history system. The specific program structure is the same as that shown in FIG. 18, so a description thereof will be omitted.
[0027] The computer program for medical information linkage in one embodiment of the present invention further causes the analysis unit 41 to perform an operation of analyzing items of the electronic medical record or electronic medication history system to which the information is to be incorporated, and the data input unit 42 to perform an operation of incorporating medical information in accordance with the analysis results of the analysis unit 41. The specific program structure is the same as that shown in FIG. 16, so a description thereof will be omitted.
[0028] In one embodiment, the medical information linking computer program causes each unit to execute each step in any of the above-described methods. Since each configuration overlaps with the already described method, a description thereof will be omitted.
