AI Technical Summary
Existing wireless communication systems face challenges in improving the reliability and efficiency of channel state information (CSI) reporting, particularly in scenarios where multiple-access systems like LTE and 5G networks utilize single SRS resource sets, leading to suboptimal communication performance.
Implementing aperiodic CSI reporting by transmitting PUSCH transmission repetitions over multiple SRS resource sets, allowing CSI reports to be multiplexed with either one or both sets of repetitions, enhancing reliability through diversified beam transmission.
The proposed method increases the reliability of PUSCH transmissions by leveraging multiple SRS resource sets, improving the likelihood of successful reception and network throughput.

[0001] This patent application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 63 / 131,196 by KHOSHNEVISAN et al., entitled "APERIODIC REPORTING OF CHANNEL STATE INFORMATION," filed December 28, 2020, and U.S. Patent Application No. 17 / 538,960 by KHOSHNEVISAN et al., entitled "APERIODIC REPORTING OF CHANNEL STATE INFORMATION," filed November 30, 2021, each of which is assigned to the assignee of this application.
[0002] The following relates to wireless communications, including aperiodic reporting of channel state information (CSI). [Background technology]
[0003] Wireless communication systems are widely deployed to provide various types of communication content, such as voice, video, packet data, messaging, and broadcasts. These systems may be capable of supporting communication with multiple users by sharing available system resources (e.g., time, frequency, and power). Examples of such multiple-access systems include fourth-generation (4G) systems, such as Long Term Evolution (LTE), LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), or LTE-A Pro systems, and fifth-generation (5G) systems, sometimes referred to as New Radio (NR) systems. These systems may employ technologies such as code division multiple access (CDMA), time division multiple access (TDMA), frequency division multiple access (FDMA), orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA), or discrete Fourier transform spread orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (DFT-S-OFDM). A wireless multiple-access communication system may include one or more base stations or one or more network access nodes, each simultaneously supporting communication for multiple communication devices, sometimes known as user equipment (UE).
[0004]
[0004] Some wireless communication systems may support communication using one or more antenna arrays in different devices. For example, a network may communicate with a UE using one or more transmit / receive points (TRPs), where each TRP and UE may have one or more antenna arrays to form directional beams. Efficient communication between a UE and one or more TRPs can help improve network throughput, latency, and reliability, and therefore techniques for further improving efficient communication are desirable. Summary of the Invention
[0005] Described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support aperiodic reporting of channel state information (CSI). Various aspects provide techniques for communication between a user equipment (UE) and a base station, in which the UE may transmit multiple repetitions of uplink communication over different transmit beams to improve the likelihood of successful reception of the uplink communication. For example, the base station may transmit signaling scheduling repetitions of uplink shared channel transmissions (e.g., physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmissions) that include repetitions associated with two sounding reference signal (SRS) resource sets (e.g., two transmit beams). That is, the PUSCH transmission repetitions may include a first set of repetitions associated with a first SRS resource set and a second set of repetitions associated with a second SRS resource set. By transmitting PUSCH transmission repetitions over both the first SRS resource set and the second SRS resource set, the reliability of the PUSCH transmission may be higher when compared to a PUSCH transmission utilizing a single SRS resource set.
[0006] The base station may further request that the UE transmit one or more CSI reports to the base station. For example, the base station may indicate that the UE transmits one or more aperiodic CSI reports to the base station. Additionally or alternatively, the base station may indicate whether the UE should multiplex one or more CSI reports with one of a first set of PUSCH transmission repetitions or a second set of PUSCH transmission repetitions (e.g., associated with different SRS resource sets), or whether the UE should multiplex one or more CSI reports with both the first set of PUSCH transmission repetitions and the second set of PUSCH transmission repetitions. That is, in a first example, the base station may indicate that the UE should multiplex one or more CSI reports with one of the sets of PUSCH transmission repetitions. Here, the UE may transmit one or more CSI reports multiplexed with PUSCH transmission repetitions associated with a single SRS resource set. In a second example, the base station may indicate that the UE should multiplex one or more CSI reports with both sets of PUSCH transmission repetitions. Here, the UE may transmit a first repetition of one or more CSI reports multiplexed with a PUSCH transmission repetition associated with a first SRS resource set, and additionally or alternatively, the UE may transmit a second repetition of one or more CSI reports multiplexed with a PUSCH transmission repetition associated with a second SRS resource set.
[0007] A method for wireless communication in a UE is described. The method may include receiving, from a base station, signaling scheduling a first set of repetitions of a first uplink shared channel transmission associated with a first SRS resource set and a second set of repetitions of a second uplink shared channel transmission associated with a second SRS resource set, receiving, from the base station, a request that the UE should transmit one or more CSI reports, receiving, from the base station, an indication that the one or more CSI reports should be multiplexed with one of the first set of repetitions or the second set of repetitions, or with both the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions, and transmitting the one or more CSI reports according to the indication.
[0008] An apparatus for wireless communication in a UE is described. The apparatus may include a processor, memory in electronic communication with the processor, and instructions stored in the memory. The instructions may be executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to: receive, from a base station, signaling scheduling a first set of repetitions of a first uplink shared channel transmission associated with a first SRS resource set and a second set of repetitions of a second uplink shared channel transmission associated with a second SRS resource set; receive, from the base station, a request that the UE should transmit one or more CSI reports; receive, from the base station, an indication that the one or more CSI reports should be multiplexed with one of the first set of repetitions or the second set of repetitions, or with both the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions; and transmit the one or more CSI reports according to the indication.
[0009] Another apparatus for wireless communication in a UE is described. The apparatus may include means for receiving, from a base station, signaling scheduling a first set of repetitions of a first uplink shared channel transmission associated with a first SRS resource set and a second set of repetitions of a second uplink shared channel transmission associated with a second SRS resource set, means for receiving, from the base station, a request that the UE should transmit one or more CSI reports, means for receiving, from the base station, an indication that the one or more CSI reports should be multiplexed with one of the first set of repetitions or the second set of repetitions, or with both the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions, and means for transmitting the one or more CSI reports in accordance with the indication.
[0010] A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing code for wireless communication in a UE is described. The code may include instructions executable by a processor to: receive, from a base station, signaling scheduling a first set of repetitions of a first uplink shared channel transmission associated with a first SRS resource set and a second set of repetitions of a second uplink shared channel transmission associated with a second SRS resource set; receive, from the base station, a request that the UE should transmit one or more CSI reports; receive, from the base station, an indication that the one or more CSI reports should be multiplexed with one of the first set of repetitions or the second set of repetitions, or with both the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions; and transmit the one or more CSI reports according to the indication.

[0043]
[0053] In some wireless communication systems, a user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station using multiple repetitions of uplink communication via different transmit beams to improve the likelihood of successful reception of the uplink communication. In some cases, the UE may transmit uplink communication based on parameters (e.g., the number of antenna ports, the spatial domain filter or beam, the rank or number of layers, or any combination thereof) determined from a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource set (e.g., associated with the UE's transmit beam). For example, the base station may transmit signaling scheduling repetitions of an uplink shared channel transmission (e.g., a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission) that include repetitions associated with two SRS resource sets (e.g., two transmit beams).
[0044]
[0054] The base station may further request that the UE transmit one or more CSI reports to the base station. For example, the base station may indicate that the UE transmits one or more aperiodic CSI reports to the base station. Additionally or alternatively, the base station may indicate whether the UE should multiplex one or more CSI reports with one of a first set of PUSCH transmission repetitions or a second set of PUSCH transmission repetitions (e.g., associated with different SRS resource sets, respectively), or whether the UE should multiplex one or more CSI reports with both the first set of PUSCH transmission repetitions and the second set of PUSCH transmission repetitions. Here, the UE may transmit a first repetition of one or more CSI reports multiplexed with a PUSCH transmission repetition associated with a first SRS resource set. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may transmit a second repetition of one or more CSI reports multiplexed with a PUSCH transmission repetition associated with a second SRS resource set.
[0045]
[0055] Aspects of the present disclosure are first described in the context of a wireless communication system. Aspects of the present disclosure are then described in the context of PUSCH transmission configurations and process flows. Aspects of the present disclosure are further illustrated by and described with reference to apparatus diagrams, system diagrams, and flowcharts related to aperiodic reporting of CSI.
[0046]
[0056] 1 illustrates an example of a wireless communication system 100 that supports aperiodic reporting of CSI according to an aspect of the present disclosure. The wireless communication system 100 may include one or more base stations 105, one or more UEs 115, and a core network 130. In some examples, the wireless communication system 100 may be a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, an LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) network, an LTE-A Pro network, or a New Radio (NR) network. In some examples, the wireless communication system 100 may support enhanced broadband communications, ultra-reliable (e.g., mission-critical) communications, low-latency communications, communications using low-cost and low-complexity devices, or any combination thereof.
[0047]
[0057] The base stations 105 may be dispersed throughout a geographic area to form the wireless communication system 100 and may be devices of different types or with different capabilities. The base stations 105 and the UEs 115 may communicate wirelessly via one or more communication links 125. Each base station 105 may provide a coverage area 110 over which the UEs 115 and the base station 105 may establish one or more communication links 125. The coverage area 110 may be an example of a geographic area over which the base station 105 and the UEs 115 may support communication of signals via one or more radio access technologies.
[0048]
[0058] The UEs 115 may be dispersed throughout the coverage area 110 of the wireless communication system 100, and each UE 115 may be fixed, mobile, or both at different times. The UEs 115 may be devices of different forms or with different capabilities. Some example UEs 115 are shown in FIG. 1. The UEs 115 described herein may be capable of communicating with various types of devices, such as other UEs 115, base stations 105, or network equipment (e.g., core network nodes, relay devices, integrated access and backhaul (IAB) nodes, or other network equipment), as shown in FIG. 1.
[0049]
[0059] The base stations 105 may communicate with the core network 130, with each other, or both. For example, the base stations 105 may interface with the core network 130 through one or more backhaul links 120 (e.g., via an S1, N2, N3, or other interface). The base stations 105 may communicate with each other over the backhaul links 120 (e.g., via an X2, Xn, or other interface) either directly (e.g., directly between the base stations 105) or indirectly (e.g., via the core network 130), or both. In some examples, the backhaul links 120 may be or include one or more wireless links.
[0050]
[0060] One or more of the base stations 105 described herein may include or be referred to by those skilled in the art as a base transceiver station, radio base station, access point, radio transceiver, Node B, eNode B (eNB), Next Generation Node B or GigaNode B (any of which may be referred to as gNB), Home Node B, Home eNode B, or other suitable terminology.

[0061] The UE 115 may include or be referred to as a mobile device, a wireless device, a remote device, a handheld device, or a subscriber device, or some other suitable terminology, where a “device” may also be referred to as a unit, a station, a terminal, or a client, among other examples. The UE 115 may also include or be referred to as a personal electronic device, such as a cellular phone, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a tablet computer, a laptop computer, or a personal computer. In some examples, the UE 115 may include or be referred to as a wireless local loop (WLL) station, an Internet of Things (IoT) device, an Internet of Everything (IoE) device, or a machine-type communication (MTC) device, among other examples, which may be implemented in various objects, such as an appliance, a vehicle, a meter, among other examples.
[0052]
[0062] The UEs 115 described herein may be capable of communicating with various types of devices, such as other UEs 115, which may act as relays at times, as shown in FIG. 1, as well as base stations 105 and network equipment, including macro eNBs or gNBs, small cell eNBs or gNBs, or relay base stations, among other examples.
[0053]
[0063] The UE 115 and the base station 105 may wirelessly communicate with each other via one or more communication links 125 via one or more carriers. The term “carrier” may refer to a set of radio frequency spectrum resources having a defined physical layer structure for supporting the communication link 125. For example, a carrier used for the communication link 125 may include a portion of a radio frequency spectrum band (e.g., a bandwidth portion (BWP)) operated according to one or more physical layer channels for a given radio access technology (e.g., LTE, LTE-A, LTE-A Pro, NR). Each physical layer channel may carry collection signaling (e.g., synchronization signals, system information), control signaling coordinating operation for the carrier, user data, or other signaling. The wireless communication system 100 may support communication with the UE 115 using carrier aggregation or multi-carrier operation. The UE 115 may be configured with multiple downlink component carriers and one or more uplink component carriers according to a carrier aggregation configuration. Carrier aggregation can be used with both frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD) component carriers.
[0054]
[0064] A signal waveform transmitted over a carrier may be composed of multiple subcarriers (e.g., using a multicarrier modulation (MCM) technique such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) or discrete Fourier transform extended OFDM (DFT-S-OFDM)). In a system employing an MCM technique, a resource element may consist of one symbol period (e.g., the duration of one modulation symbol) and one subcarrier, where the symbol period and the subcarrier spacing have an inverse relationship. The number of bits carried by each resource element may depend on the modulation scheme (e.g., the order of the modulation scheme, the coding rate of the modulation scheme, or both). Thus, the more resource elements and the higher the order of the modulation scheme that the UE 115 receives, the higher the data rate of the UE 115 may be. Wireless communication resources may refer to a combination of radio frequency spectrum resources, time resources, and spatial resources (e.g., spatial layers or beams), and the use of multiple spatial layers may further increase the data rate or data integrity for communications with the UE 115.
[0055]
[0065] The time interval for the base station 105 or the UE 115 may be, for example, T s =1 / (Δf max N f ) seconds, where Δf max may represent the maximum supported subcarrier spacing, and N f may represent the maximum supported discrete Fourier transform (DFT) size. The communication resource time intervals may be organized according to radio frames, each having a specified duration (e.g., 10 milliseconds (ms)). Each radio frame may be identified by a system frame number (SFN) (e.g., ranging from 0 to 1023).
[0056]
[0066] Each frame may include multiple consecutively numbered subframes or slots, and each subframe or slot may have the same duration. In some examples, a frame may be divided into subframes (e.g., in the time domain), and each subframe may be further divided into several slots. Alternatively, each frame may include a variable number of slots, and the number of slots may depend on the subcarrier spacing. Each slot may include several symbol periods (e.g., depending on the length of a cyclic prefix prepended to each symbol period). In some wireless communications systems 100, a slot may be further divided into multiple minislots containing one or more symbols. Excluding the cyclic prefix, each symbol period may include one or more (e.g., N f The duration of a symbol period may depend on the subcarrier spacing or the frequency operating band.
[0057]
[0067] A subframe, slot, minislot, or symbol may be the smallest scheduling unit (e.g., in the time domain) of the wireless communication system 100 and may be referred to as a transmission time interval (TTI). In some examples, the TTI duration (e.g., the number of symbol periods in a TTI) may be variable. Additionally or alternatively, the smallest scheduling unit of the wireless communication system 100 may be dynamically selected (e.g., in a burst of shortened TTIs (sTTIs)).
[0058]
[0068] Physical channels may be multiplexed on carriers according to various techniques. Physical control channels and physical data channels may be multiplexed on downlink carriers using, for example, one or more of a time division multiplexing (TDM) technique, a frequency division multiplexing (FDM) technique, or a hybrid TDM-FDM technique. A control region (e.g., a control resource set (CORESET)) of a physical control channel may be defined by several symbol periods and may span the system bandwidth of the carrier or a subset of the system bandwidth. One or more control regions (e.g., CORESET) may be configured for a set of UEs 115. For example, one or more of the UEs 115 may monitor or search the control region for control information according to one or more search space sets, and each search space set may include one or more control channel candidates at one or more aggregation levels configured in a cascaded manner. The aggregation level for the control channel candidates may refer to several control channel resources (e.g., control channel elements (CCEs)) associated with coded information for a control information format having a given payload size. The search space sets may include a common search space set configured for sending control information to multiple UEs 115 and a UE-specific search space set for sending control information to a specific UE 115.
[0059]
[0069] In some examples, the base stations 105 are mobile and may therefore provide communication coverage to moving geographic coverage areas 110. In some examples, different geographic coverage areas 110 associated with different technologies may overlap, but the different geographic coverage areas 110 may be supported by the same base station 105. In other examples, overlapping geographic coverage areas 110 associated with different technologies may be supported by different base stations 105. The wireless communication system 100 may include a heterogeneous network in which different types of base stations 105 provide coverage to various geographic coverage areas 110, for example, using the same or different radio access technologies.
[0060]
[0070] The wireless communication system 100 may be configured to support ultra-reliable or low-latency communications, or various combinations thereof. For example, the wireless communication system 100 may be configured to support ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) or mission-critical communications. The UE 115 may be designed to support ultra-reliable, low-latency, or critical functions (e.g., mission-critical functions). Ultra-reliable communications may include private or group communications and may be supported by one or more mission-critical services, such as mission-critical push-to-talk (MCPTT), mission-critical video (MCVideo), or mission-critical data (MCData). Support for mission-critical functions may include service prioritization, and the mission-critical services may be used for public safety or general commercial applications. The terms ultra-reliable, low-latency, mission-critical, and ultra-reliable low-latency may be used interchangeably herein.
[0061]
[0071] In some examples, the UE 115 may also be able to communicate directly with other UEs 115 over a device-to-device (D2D) communication link 135 (e.g., using a peer-to-peer (P2P) or D2D protocol). One or more UEs 115 utilizing D2D communication may be within the geographic coverage area 110 of the base station 105. Other UEs 115 in such a group may be outside the geographic coverage area 110 of the base station 105 or otherwise unable to receive transmissions from the base station 105. In some examples, a group of UEs 115 communicating via D2D communication may utilize a one-to-many (1:M) system in which each UE 115 transmits to every other UE 115 in the group. In some examples, the base station 105 facilitates scheduling of resources for D2D communication. In other cases, D2D communication occurs between UEs 115 without the involvement of the base station 105.
[0062]
[0072] The core network 130 may provide user authentication, access authorization, tracking, Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity, and other access, routing, or mobility functions. The core network 130 may be an evolved packet core (EPC) or 5G core (5GC) that may include at least one control plane entity (e.g., a mobility management entity (MME), an access and mobility management function (AMF)) that manages access and mobility, and at least one user plane entity (e.g., a serving gateway (S-GW), a packet data network (PDN) gateway (P-GW), or a user plane function (UPF)) that routes packets or interconnections to external networks. The control plane entity may manage non-access stratum (NAS) functions, such as mobility, authentication, and bearer management, for UEs 115 served by base stations 105 associated with the core network 130. User IP packets may be forwarded through the user plane entity, which may provide IP address allocation and other functions. The user plane entities may be connected to IP services 150 for one or more network operators. The IP services 150 may include access to the Internet, an intranet, an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), or packet-switched streaming services.
[0063]
[0073] Some of the network devices, such as the base station 105, may include sub-components, such as an access network entity 140, which may be an example of an access node controller (ANC). Each access network entity 140 may communicate with the UE 115 through one or more other access network transmitting entities 145, which may be referred to as a radio head, a smart radio head, or a transmit / receive point (TRP). Each access network transmitting entity 145 may include one or more antenna panels. In some configurations, various functions of each access network entity 140 or base station 105 may be distributed across various network devices (e.g., radio heads and ANCs) or integrated into a single network device (e.g., the base station 105).
[0064]
[0074] The wireless communication system 100 may typically operate using one or more frequency bands within the range of 300 megahertz (MHz) to 300 gigahertz (GHz). Generally, the 300 MHz to 3 GHz region is known as the ultra-high frequency (UHF) region or decimeter band because wavelengths range from approximately 1 decimeter to 1 meter in length. Although UHF waves may be blocked or redirected by buildings and environmental features, the waves may penetrate structures sufficiently for a macrocell to provide service to UEs 115 located indoors. Transmission of UHF waves may be associated with smaller antennas and shorter distances (e.g., less than 100 kilometers) compared to transmissions using the smaller frequencies and longer waves in the short wave (HF) or very high frequency (VHF) portions of the spectrum below 300 MHz.
[0065]
[0075] The wireless communication system 100 may utilize both licensed and unlicensed radio frequency spectrum bands. For example, the wireless communication system 100 may employ license-assisted access (LAA), LTE unlicensed (LTE-U) radio access technology, or NR technology in an unlicensed band, such as the 5 GHz Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) band. When operating in an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band, devices such as the base station 105 and the UE 115 may employ carrier sensing for collision detection and avoidance. In some examples, operation in an unlicensed band may be based on a carrier aggregation configuration with component carriers operating in a licensed band (e.g., LAA). Operation in an unlicensed spectrum may include downlink transmissions, uplink transmissions, P2P transmissions, or D2D transmissions, among other examples.
[0066]
[0076] The base station 105 or the UE 115 may be equipped with multiple antennas that can be used to employ techniques such as transmit diversity, receive diversity, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications, or beamforming. The antennas of the base station 105 or the UE 115 may be located in one or more antenna arrays or antenna panels that can support MIMO operation or transmit or receive beamforming. For example, one or more base station antennas or antenna arrays may be co-located in an antenna assembly, such as an antenna tower. In some examples, antennas or antenna arrays associated with the base station 105 may be located in various geographic locations. The base station 105 may have an antenna array with several rows and columns of antenna ports that the base station 105 can use to support beamforming of communications with the UE 115. Similarly, the UE 115 may have one or more antenna arrays that can support various MIMO or beamforming operations. Additionally or alternatively, the antenna panel may support radio frequency beamforming for signals transmitted through the antenna ports.
[0067]
[0077] The base station 105 or UE 115 may use MIMO communications to exploit multipath signal propagation and increase spectral efficiency by transmitting or receiving multiple signals via different spatial layers. Such techniques are sometimes referred to as spatial multiplexing. Multiple signals may be transmitted by a transmitting device, for example, via different antennas or different combinations of antennas. Similarly, multiple signals may be received by a receiving device via different antennas or different combinations of antennas. Each of the multiple signals may be referred to as a separate spatial stream and may carry bits associated with the same data stream (e.g., the same codeword) or different data streams (e.g., different codewords). Different spatial layers may be associated with different antenna ports used for channel measurement and reporting. MIMO techniques include single-user MIMO (SU-MIMO), in which multiple spatial layers are transmitted to the same receiving device, and multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO), in which multiple spatial layers are transmitted to multiple devices.
[0068]
[0078] Beamforming, sometimes referred to as spatial filtering, directional transmission, or directional reception, is a signal processing technique that may be used at a transmitting or receiving device (e.g., base station 105, UE 115) to shape or steer an antenna beam (e.g., transmit beam, receive beam) along a spatial path between the transmitting and receiving devices. Beamforming may be achieved by combining signals communicated through antenna elements of an antenna array such that some signals propagating in a particular orientation relative to the antenna array experience constructive interference and others experience destructive interference. Adjusting signals communicated through antenna elements may include the transmitting or receiving device applying an amplitude offset, a phase offset, or both to signals carried through the antenna elements associated with the device. The adjustment associated with each of the antenna elements may be defined by a beamforming weight set associated with a particular orientation (e.g., relative to the antenna array of the transmitting or receiving device or to some other orientation).
[0069]
[0079] The base station 105 or the UE 115 may use beam sweeping techniques as part of a beamforming operation. For example, the base station 105 may use multiple antennas or antenna arrays (e.g., antenna panels) to perform a beamforming operation for directional communication with the UE 115. Some signals (e.g., synchronization signals, reference signals, beam selection signals, or other control signals) may be transmitted multiple times in different directions by the base station 105. For example, the base station 105 may transmit signals according to different beamforming weight sets associated with different transmission directions. The transmissions in different beam directions may be used (e.g., by a transmitting device such as the base station 105 or by a receiving device such as the UE 115) to identify beam directions for subsequent transmission or reception by the base station 105.
[0070]
[0080] Some signals, such as data signals associated with a particular receiving device, may be transmitted by the base station 105 in a single beam direction (e.g., a direction associated with a receiving device such as the UE 115). In some examples, the beam direction associated with a transmission along a single beam direction may be determined based on signals transmitted in one or more beam directions. For example, the UE 115 may receive one or more of the signals transmitted by the base station 105 in different directions and may report to the base station 105 an indication of the signal that the UE 115 received with the best or otherwise acceptable signal quality.
[0071]
[0081] In some examples, transmission by a device (e.g., by the base station 105 or the UE 115) may be performed using multiple beam directions, and the device may use a combination of digital precoding or radio frequency beamforming to generate a composite beam for transmission (e.g., from the base station 105 to the UE 115). The UE 115 may report feedback indicating precoding weights for one or more beam directions, where the feedback may correspond to a configured number of beams across the system bandwidth or one or more subbands. The base station 105 may transmit a reference signal (e.g., a cell-specific reference signal (CRS), a CSI reference signal (CSI-RS)), which may be precoded or ampliconed. The UE 115 may provide feedback for beam selection, which may be a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) or codebook-based feedback (e.g., a multi-panel type codebook, a linear combination type codebook, a port selection type codebook). Although these techniques have been described with respect to signals transmitted in one or more directions by the base station 105, the UE 115 may employ similar techniques to transmit a signal multiple times in different directions (e.g., to identify a beam direction for subsequent transmission or reception by the UE 115) or to transmit a signal in a single direction (e.g., to transmit data to a receiving device).
[0072]
[0082] A receiving device (e.g., UE 115) may attempt multiple receive configurations (e.g., directional listening) when receiving various signals, such as synchronization signals, reference signals, beam selection signals, or other control signals, from the base station 105. For example, the receiving device may attempt multiple receive directions by receiving via different antenna subarrays, by processing received signals according to different antenna subarrays, by receiving according to different receive beamforming weight sets (e.g., different directional listening weight sets) applied to signals received at multiple antenna elements of the antenna array, or by processing received signals according to different receive beamforming weight sets applied to signals received at multiple antenna elements of the antenna array, any of which may be referred to as “listening” according to different receive configurations or receive directions. In some examples, the receiving device may use a single receive configuration to receive along a single beam direction (e.g., when receiving a data signal). A single receiving configuration may be aligned in a beam direction determined based on listening along different receiving configuration directions (e.g., a beam direction determined to have the highest signal strength, highest signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), or otherwise acceptable signal quality based on listening along multiple beam directions).
[0073]
[0083] In some wireless communication systems 100, the UE 115 may communicate with the base station using multiple repetitions of uplink communication over different transmit beams to improve the likelihood of successful reception of the uplink communication. In some cases, the UE 115 may transmit uplink communication based on parameters (e.g., the number of antenna ports, the spatial domain filter or beam, the rank or number of layers, or any combination thereof) determined from an SRS resource set (e.g., associated with the UE's 115 transmit beam). For example, the base station 105 may transmit signaling scheduling repetitions of an uplink shared channel transmission (e.g., a PUSCH transmission) that include repetitions associated with two SRS resource sets (e.g., two transmit beams).
[0074]
[0084] The base station 105 may further transmit a request for the UE 115 to transmit one or more CSI reports to the base station 105. For example, the base station 105 may indicate that the UE 115 transmits one or more aperiodic CSI reports to the base station 105. Additionally or alternatively, the base station 105 may indicate whether the UE 115 should multiplex one or more CSI reports with one of a first set of PUSCH transmission repetitions or a second set of PUSCH transmission repetitions (e.g., associated with different SRS resource sets, respectively), or whether the UE 115 should multiplex one or more CSI reports with both the first set of PUSCH transmission repetitions and the second set of PUSCH transmission repetitions. That is, in a first example, the base station 105 may indicate that the UE 115 should multiplex one or more CSI reports with one of the sets of PUSCH transmission repetitions. Here, the UE 115 may transmit one or more CSI reports multiplexed with PUSCH transmission repetitions associated with a single SRS resource set. In a second example, the base station 105 may indicate that the UE 115 should multiplex one or more CSI reports with both sets of PUSCH repetitions. Here, the UE 115 may transmit a first repetition of the one or more CSI reports multiplexed with the PUSCH transmission repetitions associated with the first SRS resource set. Additionally or alternatively, the UE 115 may transmit a second repetition of the one or more CSI reports multiplexed with the PUSCH transmission repetitions associated with the second SRS resource set.
[0075]
[0085] FIG. 2 illustrates an example of a wireless communication system 200 that supports aperiodic reporting of CSI according to aspects of the present disclosure. In some examples, the wireless communication system 200 may implement aspects of the wireless communication system 100. For example, the wireless communication system 200 includes a base station 105-a and a UE 115-a, which may be examples of the respective devices described with reference to FIG. 1. References to specific wireless devices (e.g., the UE 115, a TRP, a base station 105) in the following figures are provided for purposes of explanation, and it should be understood that different wireless devices not specifically mentioned herein may be used interchangeably with those described herein. Similarly, described operations performed by the UE 115-a may, in some cases, be performed by the base station 105-a (or a TRP associated with the base station 105-a), and vice versa.
[0076]
[0086] In some cases, the communication shown in the wireless communication system 200 may be an example in which the UE 115-a performs aperiodic reporting of CSI in response to a CSI request 220 from the base station 105-a. Prior to transmitting the CSI request 220, the base station 105-a may transmit PUSCH scheduling signaling 210 to the UE 115-a. In some instances, the PUSCH scheduling signaling 210 may schedule one or more repetitions of an uplink shared channel transmission (e.g., a PUSCH transmission). For example, the PUSCH scheduling signaling 210 may be radio resource control (RRC) signaling and may semi-statically configure the amount of repetition of the PUSCH transmission (e.g., via a pusch-AggregationFactor value). In another example, the PUSCH scheduling signaling 210 may be RRC signaling and may indicate different possible amounts of repetition of the PUSCH transmission (e.g., in a time domain resource allocation (TDRA) table). Here, the PUSCH scheduling signaling 210 may further include downlink control information (DCI) or medium access control-control element (MAC-CE) that indicates which of the possible amounts of repetitions of PUSCH transmissions the UE 115-a should use (e.g., via a numberofrepetitions variable).
[0077]
[0087] The PUSCH scheduling signaling 210 may further configure a type of PUSCH repetition for a PUSCH transmission. For example, the base station 105-a may indicate (e.g., via the PUSCH scheduling signaling 210) a type of PUSCH repetition, where each repetition of the PUSCH transmission is transmitted over the same set of slots within a symbol. For example, the base station 105-a may indicate that the UE 115-a transmits each repetition of the PUSCH transmission over the fourth through tenth slots within an amount of symbols (e.g., the same as the amount of PUSCH repetition). In another example, the base station 105-a may indicate a type of PUSCH repetition, where each PUSCH repetition is contiguous. For example, each PUSCH repetition may be transmitted over a contiguous set of symbols that cross a slot boundary. With this type of PUSCH repetition, the base station 105-a may indicate an amount of nominal PUSCH repetition transmission, which may differ from the amount of actual PUSCH repetition transmission. In some cases, the nominal PUSCH repetition transmission may include symbols that cross a slot boundary. Here, the UE 115-a may transmit two actual PUSCH repetitions corresponding to a single nominal PUSCH repetition (e.g., each associated with a symbol associated with a single slot). In another case, the UE 115-a may determine that one or more of the symbols associated with the nominal PUSCH repetition may be invalid (e.g., based on an indication of invalid symbols due to semi-static downlink symbols, due to synchronization signal block (SSB) symbols, due to symbols associated with control resource set (CORESET) 0 of type 0—physical downlink control channel (PDCCH)). Here, the actual PUSCH repetition may include fewer symbols than the nominal PUSCH repetition.
[0078]
[0088] The PUSCH scheduling signaling 210 may further indicate that the PUSCH repetition may correspond to two SRS resource sets. For example, the PUSCH scheduling signaling 210 may include DCI indicating the two SRS resource sets. In some cases, the two SRS resource sets may each be associated with a different transmit beam 205 of the UE 115-a. For example, the transmit beam 205-a may be associated with a first SRS resource set, and the transmit beam 205-b may be associated with a second SRS resource set. Additionally or alternatively, each SRS resource set may be associated with a unique transmit power control parameter. When the PUSCH scheduling signaling 210 indicates that the PUSCH repetition corresponds to two SRS resource sets, the PUSCH scheduling signaling 210 may configure a first set of PUSCH transmission repetitions associated with the first SRS resource set and a second set of PUSCH transmission repetitions associated with the second SRS resource set.
[0079]
[0089] In some cases, the base station 105-a may transmit PUSCH scheduling signaling 210 indicating that the PUSCH corresponds to two SRS resource sets in cases where the base station 105-a is associated with multiple TRPs, panels, antennas, or a combination thereof. Here, transmitting PUSCH repetitions using multiple SRS resource sets may increase the reliability of the PUSCH transmission when compared to transmitting PUSCH repetitions using a single SRS resource set. That is, if the transmission of the first PUSCH repetition by transmit beam 205-a is blocked (e.g., the base station 105-a does not receive a transmission from transmit beam 205-a), the base station 105-a may successfully receive the second PUSCH repetition transmitted by transmit beam 205-b.
[0080]
[0090] The base station 105-a may transmit the CSI reporting configuration 215. For example, the base station 105-a may transmit an indication of the CSI reporting configuration 215 by RRC signaling (e.g., using the AperiodicTriggerStateList parameter). The RRC signaling may configure a number of trigger states (e.g., up to 128) each associated with one or more (e.g., up to 16) CSI reporting configurations (e.g., CSI reporting groups). For example, each trigger state may indicate an amount of CSI reporting associated with the trigger state.
[0081]
[0091] The base station 105-a may transmit a CSI request 220. In some cases, the CSI request 220 may request that the UE 115-a transmit one or more CSI reports 230 to the base station 105-a. The CSI request 220 may indicate one of the trigger conditions activated through the MAC-CE. For example, the CSI request 220 may be a field in an uplink DCI indicating one of the trigger conditions. Here, the size of the field in the uplink DCI including the CSI request 220 may allow the base station 105-a to indicate any of the configured trigger conditions. For example, if the base station 105-a configures 63 trigger conditions, the field of the CSI request 220 may include 6 bits. Here, the CSI request 220 may not request a CSI report if each bit of the CSI request 220 is “0.”
[0082]
[0092] The base station 105-a may further transmit a multiplexing indication 225 to the UE 115-a. The multiplexing indication 225 may indicate whether the UE 115-a should multiplex one or more requested CSI reports 230 with one of the first set of repetitions, the second set of repetitions, or both the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions. In one example, the base station 105-a may transmit the multiplexing indication 225 via RRC signaling. Here, the multiplexing indication 225 may be semi-statically configured in a bandwidth part or a serving cell RRC configuration. In another example, the multiplexing indication 225 may be based on a trigger condition indicated by the CSI request 220. For example, the base station 105-a may transmit a DCI indicating one of the trigger conditions, and each trigger condition may be associated with a multiplexing indication 225 configured by the RRC signaling. In another example, the base station 105-a may transmit a multiplexing indication 225 via a DCI. That is, the DCI may include a field (e.g., a one-bit field) indicating whether the UE 115-a should multiplex one or more requested CSI reports 230 with one of the first set of repetitions or the second set of repetitions, or with both the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions.
[0083]
[0093] In a first example, the multiplexing indication 225 may indicate that the UE 115-a should multiplex one or more CSI reports 230 with one of the sets of repetitions of PUSCH transmissions. That is, the base station 105-a may have configured the UE 115-a to transmit a first set of repetitions of PUSCH transmissions using a first SRS resource set and a second set of repetitions of PUSCH transmissions using a second SRS resource set. Additionally or alternatively, the multiplexing indication 225 may indicate that the UE 115-a should transmit one or more CSI reports 230 over one of the sets of PUSCH transmissions (e.g., using either the first SRS resource set or the second SRS resource set). Here, UE 115-a may multiplex the CSI report 230 onto a PUSCH transmission associated with one of the SRS resource sets and transmit the CSI report (multiplexed with the PUSCH transmission) using either transmit beam 205-a or transmit beam 205-b.
[0084]
[0094] In a second example, the multiplexing indication 225 may indicate that the UE 115-a should multiplex one or more CSI reports 230 with both sets of PUSCH transmission repetitions. Here, the UE 115-a may multiplex a first repetition of one or more CSI reports 230 with a PUSCH repetition from a first set of repetitions (e.g., associated with a first SRS resource set) and a second repetition of one or more CSI reports 230 with a PUSCH repetition from a second set of repetitions (e.g., associated with a second SRS resource set). The UE 115-a may then transmit the first repetition of one or more CSI reports 230 (e.g., multiplexed with a PUSCH repetition from the first set of repetitions) using the transmit beam 205-a and transmit the second repetition of one or more CSI reports 230 (e.g., multiplexed with a PUSCH repetition from the second set of repetitions) using the transmit beam 205-b.
[0085]
[0095] In some cases, the multiplexing indication 225 may indicate that the UE 115-a should multiplex one or more CSI reports 230 with both sets of repetitions of a PUSCH transmission. Additionally or alternatively, the PUSCH may not have a transport block and may be scheduled by a CSI request field on the DCI (e.g., when the UL-SCH parameter of the DCI is set to “0”). Here, the UE 115-a may assume that the amount of repetitions of the PUSCH is two (e.g., even if the PUSCH scheduling signaling 210 indicates a different amount of repetition). Additionally or alternatively, the UE 115-a may transmit the CSI report 230 on both two PUSCH repetitions by multiplexing the CSI report 230 with both two PUSCH repetitions. In some cases, the UE 115-a may further assume that the actual transmission of the two PUSCH repetitions and the nominal transmission of the two PUSCH transmissions are the same (e.g., no segmentation).
[0086]
[0096] To multiplex one or more CSI reports 230 with two PUSCH repetitions, the UE may encode and rate-match uplink control information (UCI) (e.g., the CSI report 230) based on a parameter (e.g., the Betaoffset parameter) indicated by the base station 105-a via DCI or semi-statically configured (e.g., by RRC signaling). In some cases, the size of each repetition of the one or more CSI reports 230 may be the same for the first and second PUSCH repetitions. However, the two PUSCH repetitions may include different amounts of other UCI. In some cases, this may affect the size of each of the one or more CSI reports 230.
[0087]
[0097] In the example wireless communication system 200, the UE 115-a may ensure that the number of coded modulation symbols (e.g., the number of resource elements) for each repetition of one or more CSI reports 230 will be the same for each PUSCH repetition. In some cases, the size of the other UCI payload within each PUSCH repetition may be the same, and thus the size of the CSI report 230 is guaranteed to be the same between PUSCH repetitions. Here, the UE 115-a may further assume that the duration of both PUSCH repetitions is the same (e.g., the actual duration of each PUSCH repetition is the same). If the size of the CSI report 230 is the same and the duration of both PUSCH repetitions is the same, the UE 115-a may determine the coded modulation symbols (e.g., the amount of resource elements) for each layer associated with the CSI report 230 for one of the PUSCH repetitions and use that same amount of resource elements for the CSI report 230 multiplexed with the other PUSCH repetitions. In some instances, the UE 115-a may use the amount of resource elements associated with the CSI report 230 based on an earlier or later transmitted CSI report 230, the amount of resource elements associated with the CSI report 230 (e.g., a CSI report with a larger amount of resource elements, a CSI report 230 with a smaller amount of resource elements), the duration of the CSI report 230 (e.g., a CSI report 230 with a longer duration, a CSI report 230 with a shorter duration), or based on the SRS resource set (or corresponding transmit beam 205) associated with the CSI report 230. In instances where the sizes of the CSI reports 230 are not the same, or the durations of both PUSCH repetitions are not the same, or both, the UE 115-a may determine that the PUSCH repetition carrying the CSI report 230 need not carry any other UCI payload to ensure that the sizes of the CSI reports 230 are the same between the PUSCH repetitions.
[0088]
[0098] 3A and 3B illustrate example PUSCH transmission configurations 300 that support aperiodic reporting of CSI according to aspects of the present disclosure. For example, the PUSCH transmission configurations 300 may illustrate example PUSCH transmission configurations that include PUSCH repetitions 305 transmitted over different SRS resource sets and that include one or more CSI reports 310. In some examples, the PUSCH transmission configurations 300 may implement aspects of wireless communication described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. For example, for both PUSCH transmission configurations 300, a base station may configure (e.g., by RRC signaling, by DCI) two sets of PUSCH repetitions 305, each associated with a different SRS resource set, as described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.
[0089]
[0099] In the example PUSCH transmission configuration 300-a, the base station may configure the UE to switch between transmitting PUSCH repetitions 305 associated with a first SRS resource set and transmitting PUSCH repetitions 305 associated with a second SRS resource set. In the example PUSCH transmission configuration 300-b, the base station may configure the UE to transmit each PUSCH repetition 305 associated with a first SRS resource set before transmitting PUSCH repetitions 305 associated with a second SRS resource set.
[0090]
[0100] For either configuration 300, the base station may further indicate whether the UE should multiplex one or more CSI reports 310 with one of the PUSCH repetitions 305 associated with either the first SRS resource set or the second SRS resource set, or with one of the PUSCH repetitions 305 associated with both the first SRS resource set and the second SRS resource set. In a first example of the PUSCH transmission configuration 300, the base station may indicate to the UE transmitting the PUSCH repetition 305 that the one or more CSI reports 310 should be multiplexed with one of the PUSCH repetitions 305 associated with the first SRS resource set. Here, the UE may multiplex one or more CSI reports 310 with the earliest PUSCH repetition 305 within the SRS resource set. In some cases, the first or earliest actual PUSCH repetition 305 may differ from the first or earliest nominal PUSCH repetition 305. Here, the UE may still multiplex the CSI report 310 with the first or earliest PUSCH repetition 305. For example, the UE may assume that the first PUSCH repetition 305 associated with each SRS resource set has a duration greater than one symbol. For the PUSCH transmission configuration 300-a, the UE may multiplex one or more CSI reports 310-a with the PUSCH repetition 305-a, which may be the first (e.g., earliest) PUSCH repetition 305-a in the first SRS resource set. For the PUSCH transmission configuration 300-b, the UE may multiplex one or more CSI reports 310-c with the PUSCH repetition 305-e, which may be the first (e.g., earliest) PUSCH repetition 305-e in the first SRS resource set.
[0091]
[0101] In a second example of the PUSCH transmission configuration 300, the base station may indicate to a UE transmitting a PUSCH repetition 305 that one or more CSI reports 310 should be multiplexed with one of the PUSCH repetitions 305 associated with both the first and second SRS resource sets. Here, the UE may multiplex the first repetition of the one or more CSI reports 310 with the earliest PUSCH repetition 305 associated with the first SRS resource set and the second repetition of the one or more CSI reports 310 with the earliest PUSCH repetition 305 associated with the second SRS resource set. For the PUSCH transmission configuration 300-a, the UE may multiplex the first repetition of the one or more CSI reports 310-a with the PUSCH repetition 305-a, which may be the first (e.g., earliest) PUSCH repetition 305-a associated with the first SRS resource set. The UE may further multiplex the second repetition of one or more CSI reports 310-b with the PUSCH repetition 305-b, which may be the first PUSCH repetition 305-b associated with the second SRS resource set. For the PUSCH transmission configuration 300-b, the UE may multiplex the one or more CSI reports 310-c with the PUSCH repetition 305-e, which may be the first (e.g., earliest) PUSCH repetition 305-e in the first SRS resource set. The UE may further multiplex the second repetition of one or more CSI reports 310-c with the PUSCH repetition 305-g, which may be the first PUSCH repetition 305g associated with the second SRS resource set.
[0092]
[0102] 4 illustrates an example of a process flow 400 for supporting aperiodic reporting of CSI according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. In some examples, the process flow 400 may implement the aspects of FIGS. 1-3. For example, the UE 115-b may be an example of the UE 115 described with reference to FIGS. 1-3. Additionally or alternatively, the base station 105-b may be an example of the base station 105 described with reference to FIGS. 1-3.
[0093]
[0103] At 405, the base station 105-b may transmit PUSCH scheduling signaling to the UE 115-b. For example, the base station 105-b may transmit signaling scheduling a first set of repetitions of a first uplink shared channel transmission (e.g., a first PUSCH transmission) associated with a first SRS resource set and a second set of repetitions of a second uplink shared channel transmission associated with a second SRS resource set. In some cases, the base station 105-b may transmit DCI scheduling the first and second sets of repetitions. Additionally or alternatively, the amount of repetitions may be indicated by DCI or RRC signaling.
[0094]
[0104] At 410, the base station 105-b may transmit a CSI reporting configuration to the UE 115-b. For example, the base station 105-b may transmit RRC signaling indicating a set of CSI reporting groups each associated with a trigger state. In some instances, a CSI report associated with a given trigger state should be multiplexed with one of the first set of repetitions or the second set of repetitions, or with both the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions, based at least in part on the trigger state. Additionally or alternatively, the base station 105-b may transmit RRC signaling indicating a set of possible channel state information report settings (e.g., a set of CSI reporting groups).
[0095]
[0105] At 415, the base station 105-b may transmit a CSI report request to the UE 115-b. For example, the UE 115-b may receive a request that the UE 115-b transmit one or more CSI reports. In some instances, the CSI report request may indicate one of the possible CSI reporting configurations (e.g., configured at 410). In some examples, the base station 105-b may indicate the CSI report request via DCI scheduling that also schedules the first and second sets of repetitions.
[0096]
[0106] At 420, the base station 105-b may send a multiplexing indication to the UE 115-b. For example, the UE 115-b may receive an indication that one or more CSI reports should be multiplexed with one of the first set of repetitions or the second set of repetitions, or with both the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions. In one example, the UE 115-b may receive the multiplexing indication by receiving RRC signaling indicating that one or more CSI reports should be multiplexed with one of the first set of repetitions or the second set of repetitions, or with both the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions. In another example, the UE 115-b may receive the multiplexing indication by receiving DCI indicating one of the trigger conditions (e.g., configured by the RRC signaling at 410), where the DCI includes a request that the UE 115-b should transmit one or more CSI reports and the multiplexing indication. In another example, UE 115-b may receive the multiplexing indication by receiving DCI indicating that one or more CSI reports should be multiplexed with one of the first set of repetitions or the second set of repetitions, or with both the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions.
[0097]
[0107] At 425, the UE 115-b may multiplex one or more CSI reports with a first PUSCH repetition. For example, based on receiving the indication, the UE 115-b may multiplex a first one of the one or more CSI reports with a first repetition of a first uplink shared channel transmission in a first set of repetitions, where the first repetition is transmitted before the remaining repetitions in the first set of repetitions. In some cases, the UE 115-b may multiplex a first one of the one or more CSI reports with a first actual repetition associated with a first repetition that was transmitted before any other actual repetitions associated with the first repetition.
[0098]
[0108] At 430, the UE 115-b may possibly multiplex one or more CSI reports with the second PUSCH repetition. That is, if the multiplexing indication indicates that one or more CSI reports should be multiplexed with one of the first set of repetitions or the second set of repetitions, the UE 115-b may not multiplex one or more CSI reports with the second PUSCH repetition. For example, based on receiving an indication that one or more CSI reports should be multiplexed with both the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions, the UE 115-b may multiplex a second one of the one or more CSI reports with a second repetition of a second uplink shared channel transmission in the second set of repetitions, where the second repetition is transmitted before the remaining repetitions in the second set of repetitions. In some cases, the UE 115-b may multiplex a second one of the one or more CSI reports with a second actual repetition associated with a second repetition transmitted before any other actual repetition associated with the second repetition.
[0099]
[0109] In some examples, the first quantity of coded modulation symbols including a first one of the one or more CSI reports is equal to the second quantity of coded modulation symbols including a second one of the one or more CSI reports. In some cases, the first payload size of the first UCI included in the first repetition of the first uplink shared channel transmission is equal to the second payload size of the second UCI included in the second repetition of the second uplink shared channel transmission. Additionally or alternatively, the first quantity of coded modulation symbols is equal to the second quantity of coded modulation symbols based on the first payload size being equal to the second payload size. In some instances, the UE 115-b may determine the first quantity based on the payload size of the UCI included in the first repetition of the first uplink shared channel transmission and may select the second quantity based on determining the first quantity.
[0100]
[0110] At 435, the UE 115-b may transmit one or more CSI reports to the base station 105-b. For example, the UE 115-b may transmit the one or more CSI reports according to the multiplexing indication. In an example in which the multiplexing indication indicates that one or more CSI reports should be multiplexed with both the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions, the UE 115-b may transmit a first repetition of a first uplink shared channel transmission including a first one of the one or more CSI reports via a first transmit beam associated with the first SRS resource set and may transmit a second repetition of a second uplink shared channel transmission including a second one of the one or more CSI reports via a second transmit beam associated with the second SRS resource set.
[0101]
[0111] In some cases, UE 115-b may determine the amount of repetitions in the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions to be two based on the absence of transport blocks associated with the first uplink shared channel transmission and the second uplink shared channel transmission and receiving a multiplexing indication that one or more CSI reports should be multiplexed with both the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions. Here, UE 115-b may transmit the first and second CSI reports by multiplexing those CSI reports with two repetitions of the PUSCH transmission.

[0119]
[0129] In some examples, multiplexing a first one of the one or more CSI reports with the first repetition includes multiplexing the first one of the one or more CSI reports with a first actual repetition associated with the first repetition that was transmitted before any other actual repetition associated with the first repetition. [0124]
[0134] In some examples, to support transmitting one or more CSI reports, the CSI transmitter 740 may be configured or otherwise support a means for transmitting a first repetition of a first uplink shared channel transmission including a first one of the one or more CSI reports via a first transmit beam associated with a first SRS resource set based on receiving an indication that the one or more CSI reports should be multiplexed with both the first set of repetitions and the second set of repetitions. In some examples, to support transmitting one or more CSI reports, the CSI transmitter 740 may be configured or otherwise support a means for transmitting a second repetition of a second uplink shared channel transmission including a second one of the one or more CSI reports via a second transmit beam associated with a second SRS resource set.
