AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing systems fail to provide safe guidance for vehicles exiting from a predetermined area onto a roadway, particularly in construction zones where collision risks are high.

Method used

An exit guidance system that includes a radar for detecting moving objects upstream of the exit, a controller to calculate the time required for these objects to reach the exit, and a notification system to inform drivers when it is safe to exit.

Benefits of technology

Enables vehicles to safely exit from a construction zone by predicting collision risks and guiding drivers on the best time to leave, thereby preventing accidents.

Abstract

To provide a technique for safely leaving a vehicle from a predetermined area facing a roadway to the roadway.SOLUTION: An exit guidance system for guiding a vehicle 11 exiting from an exit 102 of a predetermined area 101 to an adjacent roadway 120 comprises: detecting means 1 arranged on an upstream side of the exit 102 and detecting a moving object 12 moving on a downstream side of the roadway 120; a controller 2 for determining whether or not to exit to the roadway 120; and reporting means 3 for reporting a driver of a vehicle 11 whether or not it is possible to leave the roadway 120. The controller 2 calculates a moving speed of the moving body 12 detected by the detecting means 1, predicts an arrival time required for the moving body 12 to reach an exit 102, determines whether or not the vehicle 11 can leave the roadway 120 based on the arrival time, and reports whether or not it is possible to leave the roadway 120 via the reporting means 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
