Abstract

To enable transactions to be settled by a clerk and a customer sharing an operation without generating settlement information with an input device.SOLUTION: An input device transmits data pertaining to a transaction to each of a plurality of settlement devices before an end-of-input instruction for data pertaining to the transaction is detected. When detecting the input end instruction for the data pertaining to the transaction, the input device transmits a completion event informing that the input is complete to each of the plurality of settlement devices. The settlement device stores the data pertaining to the transaction transmitted from the input device in a memory unit. The settlement device transmits payment start event to the input device in response to acceptance of the payment start declaration. When receiving a deletion event from the input device, the settlement device clears the memory unit and releases the state of waiting for the payment start declaration.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17
