[Solution] An optical cable monitoring device comprising: a vibration application unit that applies vibration to the optical cable at a vibration application position located in the monitored section of the optical cable; a vibration waveform acquisition unit that acquires the vibration waveform of the monitored section of the optical cable at a vibration waveform acquisition position different from the vibration application position located in the monitored section of the optical cable; a corrected vibration waveform acquisition unit that acquires a corrected vibration waveform obtained by correcting the vibration waveform in the monitored section of the optical cable; and an abnormal location acquisition unit that acquires abnormal locations in the monitored section of the optical cable based on the corrected vibration waveform.
