Abstract

To provide image reshaping in video coding using rate distortion optimization.SOLUTION: Given a sequence of images in a first codeword representation, a method, a process, and a system are presented for image reshaping using rate distortion optimization. Reshaping allows the images to be coded in a second codeword representation which allows more efficient compression than using a first codeword representation.
