Abstract
Claims
1. A system comprising a proposal means that proposes one of the following (a) to (c) based on data on genes related to nutrient production in the gut microbiota obtained by metagenomic analysis of the gut microbiota of animals. (a) Nutrients that are expected to be deficient in the animal due to production by the animal's intestinal microbiota, food for which such nutrients are added, ingredients of such food, or recipe of such food, or food that contains a large amount of such nutrients, ingredients of such food, or recipe of such food. (b) Nutrients that are expected not to be deficient in the animal due to production by the animal's gut microbiota, food in which such nutrients are reduced, ingredients of such food, or recipe of such food, or food containing a small amount of such nutrients, ingredients of such food, or recipe of such food. (c) Food for which nutrients other than those that are expected to be sufficient for the animal due to production by the animal's intestinal flora are added, the ingredients of such food, or the recipe of such food, or food that contains a large amount of nutrients other than those that are expected to be sufficient for the animal, the ingredients of such food, or the recipe of such food.
2. The system according to claim 1, wherein data relating to genes related to nutrient production in the gut microbiota indicates a low ability to produce specific nutrients.
3. The system according to claim 1, wherein the data relating to genes related to nutrient production in the gut microbiota is data relating to the abundance or scarcity of metabolic pathway genes involved in the production of specific nutrients.
4. The system according to claim 1, wherein the metagenomic analysis of the gut microbiota of the animal is a predictive metagenomic analysis.
5. The system according to claim 2, wherein the aforementioned specific nutrient is a vitamin.
6. The system according to claim 5, wherein the vitamin is vitamin K2.
7. The system according to claim 1, comprising a receiving means for receiving data relating to genes related to nutrient production in the gut microbiota of animals, obtained by metagenomic analysis of the gut microbiota of the animal.
8. The system according to claim 7, wherein the receiving means also receives individual animal information.
9. A method by which a computer proposes any of the following (a) to (c) based on data relating to genes related to nutrient production in the gut microbiota of an animal, obtained by metagenomic analysis of the gut microbiota of the animal.
10. The method according to claim 9, further comprising the step of performing metagenomic analysis of the intestinal microbiota of the animal using a fecal sample of the animal.
