Abstract

To provide a vehicle body structure equipped with side frames that have a low deformation load peak so that they can be easily compressed and deformed. [Solution] The shape-changing portion (101) of the side frame (11) of the vehicle body structure (10) is composed of a first protrusion (120) and a second protrusion (130) that protrude from the front side in the plate thickness direction, which are alternately adjacent in the vehicle length direction. The tip of the first protrusion (120) is a first inclined ridge (121) whose protrusion amount decreases as it moves from one end to the other. The tip of the second protrusion (130) is a second inclined ridge (131) whose protrusion amount increases as it moves from one end to the other. When viewed along the vehicle length direction, the first inclined ridge (121) and the second inclined ridge (131) that are adjacent in the vehicle length direction intersect.
