Summary of the Invention
Problems to be Solved by the Invention
[0005] The basket cover described in Patent Document 1 has a lid part provided on the upper surface part and a bottom surface opening provided on the bottom surface part. With the bottom surface opening facing downward, it can completely cover the entire basket from above. In the present invention, similar to the previous type, a cargo basket cover is proposed that has a bottom opening in the bottom of the main body and can cover the entire cargo basket from above with the bottom opening facing downwards. The objective is to provide a cover that can appropriately cover and attach the entire cargo basket regardless of its size, or even if the cargo basket is of a type that expands and contracts in the front-to-back direction. [Means for solving the problem]
[0006] To solve the above problems, the first version of the present invention is a bicycle luggage basket cover comprising a bag-shaped or box-shaped main body having a bottom opening on its bottom surface, and a lid that can be opened and closed on its top surface, which can be attached by covering the entire luggage basket attached to the luggage rack of a bicycle with the bottom opening facing downwards, wherein fixing means for fixing the main body to the luggage basket are provided on the inside of the front and rear portions of the main body, and the rear fixing means provided on the rear portion side of the fixing means is fixed to a pair of vertically oriented strip-shaped members provided on the inside of the rear portion of the main body, thereby fixing the rear portion of the main body to the luggage basket, and the rear fixing means can be fixed at any position in the vertical direction of the strip-shaped members. Here, the "front" and "rear" directions mentioned above refer to the direction in which the cover is attached to the basket, with the front being the direction the bicycle is moving and the rear being the opposite direction.
[0007] A second version of the present invention is a bicycle luggage basket cover characterized in that, in the first invention described above, the rear fixing means is made of a string-like member, and the rear side of the main body is fixed to the luggage basket by tying the string-like member across the frame of the luggage basket and the vertically oriented strip-like member.
[0008] A third version of the present invention is a bicycle basket cover characterized in that, in the first or second invention described above, an insertion portion is provided in part or all of the peripheral edge of the bottom opening, and by inserting an expandable and retractable string-like member into the insertion portion, the peripheral edge of the bottom opening contracts, and at the same time the rear side of the main body is pulled toward the bottom side and attached to the basket.
[0009] A fourth aspect of the present invention is a bicycle basket cover characterized in that, in the first or second invention described above, a gusset is provided at the openable boundary between the lid and the front and side portions of the main body, thereby extending the front and side boundary portions of the main body upward.
[0010] The fifth aspect of the present invention is a bicycle luggage basket cover characterized in that, in the first or second invention described above, a flexible sheet member is installed inside the main body portion, extending from the lid portion to the rear portion, to maintain the shape retention and integrity of the main body portion. [Effects of the Invention]
[0011] In the first version of the present invention, if the size of the covered cargo baskets differs, or if the cargo baskets are of a type that expands or contracts in the front-to-back direction, it is necessary to be able to cover cargo baskets of different sizes by making it possible to adjust the length of the cover in the front-to-back direction. In other words, it is necessary to be able to cover both short and long cargo baskets in the front-to-back direction.
[0012] To this end, the main body is bag-shaped or box-shaped with a bottom opening on its bottom surface, and a lid that can be opened and closed is provided on the top surface. The bottom opening faces downwards, and the main body can be attached by covering the entire luggage basket that is mounted on the luggage rack of a bicycle from above. Fixing means for fixing the main body to the luggage basket are provided on the inside of the front and rear surfaces of the main body, and a rear fixing means provided on the rear side of the fixing means is fixed to a pair of vertically oriented strip-shaped members provided on the inside of the rear surface of the main body, thereby fixing the rear side of the main body to the luggage basket, and the rear fixing means can be fixed at any position in the vertical direction of the strip-shaped members.
[0013] As a result, in the case of a small cargo basket or a cargo basket that has been reduced in size and shortened in the front-to-back direction, the rear fixing means can be fixed to the upper end portion of the strip-shaped member, while in the case of a large cargo basket or a cargo basket that has been expanded and lengthened in the front-to-back direction, the rear fixing means can be fixed to the lower end portion of the strip-shaped member, thereby allowing the cargo basket cover according to the present invention to be appropriately covered on cargo baskets of different sizes.
[0014] In the second version of the present invention, the rear fixing means is provided as an embodiment, wherein the rear fixing means consists of a string-like member, and the rear side of the main body is fixed to the cargo basket by tying this string-like member across the frame of the cargo basket and the vertically oriented strip-like member. If the cargo basket is small or has been reduced in size, the string-like member can be connected and tied to the frame of the cargo basket and the upper end of the strip-like member. On the other hand, if the cargo basket is large or extends in the front-to-back direction, the string-like member can be connected and tied to the frame of the cargo basket and the lower end of the strip-like member.
[0015] In a third aspect of the present invention, the peripheral structure of the bottom opening of the main body is specified. An insertion portion is provided at a part or all of the periphery of the bottom opening, and a string-like member that can expand and contract is inserted into the insertion portion, whereby the periphery of the bottom opening contracts, and at the same time, the rear surface portion side of the main body is pulled toward the bottom surface portion side and is attached to the carrying basket. In this way, when the carrying basket is small, the lower end side of the rear surface portion of the cover is attached so as to wrap around the bottom surface portion side of the main body.
[0016] In a fourth aspect of the present invention, the content described in Patent Document 1, which is the conventional example above, is added in order to further increase the internal volume of the cover.
[0017] In a fifth aspect of the present invention, in order to make it easy to attach a cover to an expandable and contractible carrying basket, that is, in order to maintain the shape retention and integrity from the lid portion to the rear surface portion of the main body, a flexible sheet member is installed from the lid portion to the rear surface portion of the main body.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[0019] Hereinafter, with reference to the accompanying drawings, an embodiment of the present invention will be described. As described above, the pannier cover according to the present invention can cover and attach to panniers of different sizes. For convenience of explanation, hereinafter, the case of covering and attaching to a pannier that can be expanded and contracted in the front-rear direction will be described as an example. This is because, for a pannier that can be expanded and contracted, it is possible to explain both states when the sizes are different, whether large or small.
[0020] FIG. 1 is a side explanatory view of a state in which an embodiment of the pannier cover according to the present invention is covered on a pannier. (A) shows a state of being attached to a pannier expanded in the front-rear direction, and (B) shows a state of being attached to a pannier contracted in the front-rear direction.
[0021] The pannier cover according to the present invention can be attached to a pannier that can be expanded and contracted in the front-rear direction and is fixed to the rear carrier of a bicycle. Of course, it can also be attached to another pannier of a different size. The main body portion 10 of the pannier cover has an overall substantially box shape. A lid portion 11 is provided on its upper surface, both side surface portions 12, 12 are provided on both side surfaces, a front surface portion 13 is provided on its front surface, and a rear surface portion 14 is provided on its rear surface. Although not shown in the figure, a bottom surface opening is provided on its bottom surface.
[0022] An insertion portion is formed over the entire periphery of the bottom surface opening. A stretchable string-like member is inserted into this insertion portion, and the peripheral edge of the bottom surface opening is formed to converge small. This insertion portion may be provided not over the entire periphery but a part of the peripheral edge of the bottom surface opening. In FIG. 1(A), since the main body portion 10 is attached to a pannier expanded in the front-rear direction, the lid portion 11 and both side surface portions 12 are attached in a state of extending rearward.
[0023] On the other hand, in Figure 1(B), since the main body 10 is attached to a basket that has been reduced in the front-to-back direction, the lid 11 and both side parts 12 are attached in a reduced state in the front-to-back direction. Therefore, in this state of being reduced in the front-to-back direction, the rear side of the lid portion 11 is attached so as to be wrapped around the rear surface portion 14, and the lower end of the rear surface portion 14 is attached so as to be wrapped around the bottom surface portion 15.
[0024] When fixing the main body portion 10 of the cargo basket cover according to the present invention to the cargo basket, fixing means are used. These fixing means are provided on the inner surface of the main body portion 10 and are therefore not shown in the figure. In other words, a pair of these fixing means are provided on the inner surface of the front portion 13 of the main body 10, and another pair is provided on the inner surface of the rear portion 14 of the main body 10.
[0025] The pair of front fixing means provided on the inner surface of the front portion 13 of the main body 10 each consist of a string-like member. The central part of this string-like member is sewn to the front part 13 of the main body part 10 at an appropriate position, that is, at an appropriate height, in pairs on the left and right. The ends of these string-like members are wrapped around and tied to the frame or structure on the front of the cargo basket. This secures the front portion 13 of the main body 10 to the cargo basket.
[0026] This pair of string-like members can also be formed by hook members made of metal or synthetic resin. In other words, this hook member can be roughly U-shaped, with the opening facing downwards and one leg being longer than the other.
[0027] This can be achieved by facing the opening of the roughly U-shaped hook member downwards and fixing the longer legs of the hook member to the inner surface of the front part 13 of the main body 10 at the same height, in pairs. In other words, the other shorter leg of this hook member can be hooked onto the frame or part of the cargo basket, thereby securing the front part 13 of the main body 10 to the cargo basket.
[0028] On the other hand, as will be explained in Figure 2 below, the rear fixing means provided on the inner surface of the rear surface portion 14 of the main body portion 10 of the cargo basket cover is different from the simple pair of string-like members described above. Specifically, a pair of strip-shaped members are fixed at the same height position on the inner surface of the rear surface 14 of the main body 10, with their longitudinal direction being vertical, and both ends are fixed, and a string-like member is connected to each of these strip-shaped members.
[0029] Furthermore, the string-like member can move vertically relative to the strip-like member, and can be tied to the frame or structure of the cargo basket at any desired height. This ensures that even if the rear section 14 moves up and down, it can be properly secured to the frame or structure of the cargo basket by the string-like member.
[0030] Furthermore, slide fasteners 11f are provided at the boundary between the lid portion 11 and the front portion 13, and at the boundary between the lid portion 11 and both side portions 12, 12, allowing the lid portion 11 to be opened and closed at these boundary portions. More specifically, this lid portion 11 is opened by being rolled up from front to rear, and this lid portion 11 is continuous with the rear surface portion 14 at its rear end.
[0031] Figure 2 is an enlarged explanatory view of the boundary between the lid portion and one side portion of the main body portion according to the above embodiment, and shows one of the rear fixing means. In Figure 2, the slide fastener 11f is open, and the lid portion 11 is released to the rear. It can be seen that the rear end of the lid portion 11 and the rear surface portion 14 are continuous.
[0032] As described above, in this embodiment, a pair of rear fixing means are provided on the left and right sides of the upper end portion of the inner surface of the rear surface portion 14 or the rear end portion of the lid portion 11, and one of the left-side fixing means is shown in Figure 2. As can be clearly seen from this diagram, the rear fixing means consists of a string-like member 21 connected to the strip-shaped member 20.
[0033] The strip-shaped member 20 is made of nylon, with a width of approximately 20 to 30 mm and a length of approximately 100 to 140 mm, and its upper and lower ends are sewn to the upper end of the rear surface portion 14 of the main body. A string-like member 21 is tied to this strip-like member 20, and both ends 21t, 21t can be wrapped around and secured to the frame or frame of the cargo basket.
[0034] Since the strip-shaped member 20 has a predetermined length vertically, the string-shaped member 21 can be tied to it at any position within the range of the vertical length of the strip-shaped member 20. This allows the string-like member 21 to be tied to an appropriate position on the frame or frame at the rear of the cargo basket, even if the basket expands or contracts in the front-to-back direction.
[0035] Figure 3 is an explanatory diagram showing the base portion of the lid when the cargo basket cover according to the above embodiment is attached to the cargo basket and the lid is open, where (A) shows the cargo basket in an enlarged state and (B) shows the cargo basket in a retracted state.
[0036] As described above, when the cargo basket extends and expands in the front-rear direction (as shown in Figure 3(A)), the strip-shaped member 20 provided on the upper end of the rear surface portion 14 of the main body portion 10 is located in a higher position. Therefore, the upper end of the strip-shaped member 20 is located above the upper edge of the rear surface portion Nb of the cargo basket N. Therefore, the string-like member 21 is positioned below the strip-like member 20 and connects the strip-like member 20 to the frame or frame of the rear surface Nb of the cargo basket N.
[0037] On the other hand, in the state shown in Figure 3(B), the cargo basket is reduced in the front-rear direction, so the upper end of the strip-shaped member 20 is positioned lower to the same level as the upper edge of the rear surface portion Nb of the cargo basket N. Therefore, the string-like member 21 is tied to the upper end of the strip-like member 20 in the vertical direction, and at this position it is tied to the upper end frame or frame of the rear surface portion Nb of the cargo basket N.
[0038] The rear fixing means, which consists of a string-like member 21 connected to the strip-like member 20, is provided in pairs on both the left and right sides of the upper end portion of the rear surface portion 14 or the rear end portion of the cover portion 11. Of course, the rear fixing means can be provided in three locations instead of two on the left and right, but providing them in two locations on the left and right, as in this embodiment, is sufficient.
[0039] Figure 4 is a side view of the cargo basket cover according to the above embodiment, illustrating the state in which it is attached to an expanded cargo basket and the boundary portions of the lid, front, and both side portions are extended upward. As shown in this figure, the main body 10 of the cargo basket cover according to the present invention can also have its internal volume increased.
[0040] Specifically, a gusset 30 is provided at the boundary between the lid portion 11 and the front portion 13, and at the boundary between the lid portion 11 and both side portions 12, 12. Normally, these gussets 30 are locked together by the locking parts 31, 31 and do not extend vertically, so the lid 11 is joined to the front part 13 and the upper edges of both side parts 12, 12.
[0041] However, when the contents of the basket protrude upward from the upper end of the basket, the locking parts 31, 31 are released and separated, causing the gusseted part 30 to extend upward. This ensures that even if the contents of the basket protrude upwards, they are still well covered.
[0042] Although only one pair of locking parts 31, 31 is shown in Figure 4, it is preferable to provide a pair in two locations, on both the left and right sides of the front part 13.
[0043] Furthermore, it is preferable to continuously install a flexible sheet material inside the lid portion 11 and the rear portion 14. The lid portion 11 and the rear portion 14 are formed in a continuous manner, and the rear portion 14 is necessary to maintain its shape, as its lower end is retracted below the bottom surface of the basket when the basket is shortened in the front-to-back direction.
[0044] Although embodiments of the present invention have been described above, various design modifications can be made to these embodiments as follows. First, the cargo basket cover according to the present invention can be attached to cargo baskets of different sizes, and can also be attached to cargo baskets that can be expanded and contracted in the front-to-back direction. The size and material of the main body can be freely selected and determined. It is preferable that the outer surface of the main body be coated with a water-repellent or waterproofing agent.
[0045] In the above embodiment, the main body's external shape is box-shaped, but it could simply be bag-shaped. This is because it can maintain its box shape after being attached, adapting appropriately to the external shape of the cargo basket.
[0046] To maintain the shape of the basket cover, a slightly thicker fabric can be used for the lid, rear, and upper parts of both sides. As already mentioned, flexible sheet material can be incorporated into the lid and rear sections. The fixing means are provided on the inner surfaces of the front and rear parts of the main body, but they can also be provided on the inner surfaces of both side parts.
[0047] The width, length, and material of the strip-shaped member used as a rear fixing means can be freely designed. Finally, although the cargo basket cover according to the present invention was developed to cover a retractable rear cargo basket, it can be attached to cover cargo baskets that are fixed to the handle, or cargo baskets that expand and contract front to back or left to right.
[0048] In summary, although the present invention has a simple configuration characterized by a rear fixing means provided on the inside of the rear surface of the luggage basket cover, it has been possible to provide a bicycle luggage basket cover that can be appropriately attached to the expandable and contractible luggage basket.
