Abstract
To more quickly determine an inspection threshold for not determining show-through as a defect in a printing system for inspecting the show-through of a printed matter printed by a printer.SOLUTION: A printing system includes: a read image acquisition portion for acquiring a read image of a printed matter; a difference image generation portion for generating a difference image between a reference image and the read image; an inspection portion for inspecting a defect of the printed matter on the basis of the difference image and an inspection threshold; and a determination portion for determining the inspection threshold for not determining show-through of the printed matter as a defect. The determination portion is configured to: perform double-side printing of a test chart including a gradation region and a test pattern by a printer; set an initial value of the inspection threshold from the gradation region in a difference image of the test chart; and determine the inspection threshold for not determining show-through as a defect in the test pattern in the difference image of the test chart from one or more candidates of the inspection threshold including the initial value of the inspection threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
