Abstract

To provide a simple and efficient encoding / decoding method and apparatus that reduce a complexity of an intra prediction.SOLUTION: A decoder specifies an intra prediction mode parameter of a current block by decoding a bitstream. When the intra prediction mode parameter indicates that an intra prediction value of the current block is to be specified using an intra weighted combined prediction (IWCP) mode, the intra prediction mode parameter specifies a first mode index and a second mode index of the current block. A MPM list of the current block is constructed. The first intra prediction mode and the second intra prediction mode of the current block are identified based on the first mode index, the second mode index, and a most probable mode (MPM) list. A weighting matrix of the current block is determined, and a prediction value of the current block is determined based on the first intra prediction mode, the second intra prediction mode, and the weighting matrix.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
