Abstract

Method for decorating a fingernail or toenail (1), comprising (a) applying a layer of gel polish (2) to the nail and allowing it to cure without further treatment of the cured surface and (b) applying a foil element (3) of resilient foil material to the cured gel polish surface. Images or patterns can be applied to the foil material (5). Cutting grooves (6) can be made in the foil material (5) of such shape and dimensions that the areas of foil material enclosed by them can be used as foil elements (3) for decorating fingernails or toenails.
