Abstract
This invention introduces an adaptive hybrid network topology including a ring, star, and tree sub-topology interconnected through a shared backbone (100), a shared backbone (100) comprising a hierarchical structure with multiple levels of aggregation, characterized in that said shared backbone are installed network security infrastructure (101) comprising firewalls (104), intrusion detection (1041), Virtual Private Network (1011) and Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (1012), a connection controller module (110) for managing network connections comprising a cross connection module (111), characterized in that said cross connection module is a plurality of a single dual core cable (114) connecting the plurality of intermediate distribution frames (112), a plurality of intermediate distribution frames (112), characterized in that said distribution frames attached are plurality of devices (121) and plurality of virtual local area network (1122) attached in internet service provider, and a failover configuration module (113) utilizing Spanning Tree Protocol (1131) for redundancy and path selection. Disclosed further are the methods for path selection and managing network topology in an adaptive hybrid network.
