Description

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

[0001] The present application claims priority to and the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 63 / 590,254, filed Oct. 13, 2023, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference in their entirety and made a part hereof.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The present invention generally relates to novelty smoking devices. More particularly the present invention relates to an inflatable water pipe configured to provide a durable and portable smoking solution.

[0003] Water pipes, are widely used devices for smoking various substances, including tobacco and legal herbal products. Among the different materials used in their construction, glass has become the most popular due to its aesthetic appeal, ease of cleaning, and inert nature. Glass bongs are often handcrafted, featuring intricate designs and percolation systems that enhance the smoking experience by cooling and filtering the smoke.

[0004] Despite their popularity, glass water pipes suffer from two significant drawbacks: fragility and lack of portability. Glass, by its very nature, is brittle and prone to breakage upon impact. Even minor drops or knocks can result in cracks or complete shattering, rendering the device unusable. This fragility not only leads to frequent replacements but also poses safety risks due to sharp shards and potential injury.

[0005] Additionally, traditional glass bongs are often bulky and cumbersome, making them ill-suited for transport. Their size and shape typically require careful handling and dedicated storage space, which limits their use to stationary environments such as homes or private lounges. Users who wish to enjoy their smoking experience while traveling or in outdoor settings face considerable inconvenience, as transporting a glass water pipe safely requires protective cases or padding, which adds to the bulk and complexity.

[0006] In response to these issues, some manufacturers have turned to plastic water pipes as an alternative. These water pipes are typically made from durable polymers such as acrylic or polycarbonate, which offer improved resistance to impact and are less likely to break when dropped. Plastic water pipes are also generally lighter and more portable than their glass counterparts, making them more suitable for travel and outdoor use. Plastic water pipes are still bulky and still require protective cases for travel.

[0007] The present invention remedies the limitations across both glass and plastic designs by accounting for both durability and portability.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008] In view of the above, the present invention comprises an inflatable water pipe configured to enhance the durability and portability of traditional water pipes. This inflatable water pipe offers the convenience of easy storage and transport while maintaining the functionality and experience of a standard water pipe. The system comprises an inflatable body, a resilient removable substrate bowl and downstem.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0009] In the accompanying figures, like elements are identified by like reference numerals among the several preferred embodiments of the present invention.

[0010] FIG. 1 illustrates an example inflatable water pipe.

[0011] FIG. 2 illustrates a top view of an inflatable water pipe.

[0012] FIG. 3 illustrates a partial view of an inflatable water pipe

[0013] Other aspects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent upon consideration of the following detailed description, wherein similar structures have similar reference numerals.DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0014] The foregoing and other features and advantages of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description of an exemplary embodiment, read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. The detailed description and drawings are merely illustrative of the invention rather than limiting, the scope of the invention being defined by the appended claims and equivalents thereof.

[0015] FIGS. 1-3 show an example inflatable water pipe 100. The inflatable water pipe comprises an inflatable body 2 having a top opening 4, an elongated chamber 6, a base portion 8, an inflation port 10, a stem channel 12 fluidly coupled to the base portion 8, downstem and substrate bowl 14 fluidly coupled to the base portion 8, through the stem opening 12.

[0016] In an inflated state, the inflatable body 2, is inflated through the inflation port 10 until the inflatable body 2 is rigid, and the inflation port 10 is removably sealed with an inflation cap 16. Air enters the inflation port 10 and inflates the elongated chamber 6 and base portion 8. Upon inflation, the downstem and substrate bowl 14 are inserted into the stem channel 12 such that the downstem and substrate bowl 14 are fluidly coupled to the base portion 8. The inflateable body 2 is further configured to receive water (or any other fluid) through the top opening 4, and store the fluid in the base portion 8. In some embodiments, the base portion 8 flairs and extends out from the elongated chamber 6 to provide balance and stability along with the fluid to allow the inflatable water pipe to stand upright on its own.

[0017] In a deflated state, the inflation cap 16 is removed from the inflation port 10 and air is removed from the inflatable body 2 until the inflatable body 2 is flexible. In a deflated state, the inflatable body 2 can be rolled up, folded, or otherwise compressed without fear of cracking or breaking the inflatable body 2. The inflatable body 2 may comprise a durable PVC or any other compatible heat resistant inflatable materials.

[0018] The downstem and substrate bowl 14 may comprise a silicone or heat resistant durable material resistant to a brittle break.

[0019] Those of ordinary skill in the art will understand and appreciate the aforementioned description of the invention has been made with reference to a certain exemplary embodiment of the invention, which describe a novelty smoking device. Those of skill in the art will understand that obvious variations in construction, material, dimensions or properties may be made without departing from the scope of the invention which is intended to be limited only by the claims appended hereto.
