Portable golf club stand device

Abstract

A portable golf club stand device is provided. The device is comprised of a vertical member, a horizontal shaft attached to the vertical member, and a secondary vertical shaft attached to the horizontal member to create a place to rest a golf club in a generally vertical manner such that the grip of the club does not touch a ground surface when not in use. The device can be easily transported and installed in the ground wherever needed during a round of golf.

[0002] The present invention relates generally to the field of golf. More specifically, the present invention relates to a portable golf club stand device. The device is comprised of a vertical member, the first end of which is pointed, and a second end which allows for the attachment of at least one horizontal member and at least one secondary vertical member. The user can place the pointed end of the vertical member into the ground and then rest various golf clubs against the device such that the club grips remain free of water, dirt, or other debris. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.BACKGROUND

[0003] When approaching the putting green, golfers will often carry several clubs with them to ensure they are fully equipped for the final stages of the hole. Typically, they will select a club that is best suited for reaching the green, such as an iron or a wedge, along with a putter. Because golf carts are not permitted in the immediate vicinity of the green to protect the course, golfers must manage their equipment carefully during this stage of a hole. More specifically, this often involves setting one club down on the ground while they use the other. However, this can pose a problem, especially in damp course conditions, wherein ground moisture can transfer to the club grips, potentially affecting the golfer's grip and the club's performance during subsequent usage.

[0004] Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a device that keeps golf club grips clean and dry during use such that their function is not impeded by course conditions. [0005] The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a portable golf club stand device. The device is comprised of a vertical shaft having a first end which is suited to be placed in the ground manually, and a second end comprised of supports. More specifically, the supports are attached horizontally to the second end of the vertical shaft and provide an area to secure a golf club within a vertical manner.

[0008] The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a portable golf club stand device comprised of a vertical shaft, the first end of which is pointed to be placed in the ground and a second end, which is attached to horizontal and secondary vertical members that allow for the support of one or more golf clubs in a vertical position. The device is designed to have the first end of the vertical member placed into the ground in a generally vertical position, and golf clubs rested on / within the horizontal and secondary vertical members.

[0009] More specifically, the body of the device is comprised of a vertical member, which has a pointed first end to allow the device to be placed into the ground surface. When placed into the ground surface, the body is preferably vertical relative to the ground. The second end of the vertical member is comprised of a series of horizontal and secondary vertical members that are connected in a general goalpost configuration, but the angle between the horizontal and secondary vertical member can be an angle between 0 and 180 degrees.

[0010] In one embodiment, the second end of the vertical member is comprised of a connecter, that connector allowing the second end of the vertical member to attach to each horizontal member. The connector can be any type of configuration known in the art to connect tubular pieces such as, but not limited to a screw, bolt, hook and loop, or magnets. This fastener could also allow for the storage of other golf equipment during use such as, but not limited to, gloves, ball markers, towels, or the like.

First, a device is provided comprised of the vertical member, one or more horizontal members, and one or more secondary vertical members attached to the vertical member. Then, the pointed end of the vertical member is placed into the ground in a generally vertical position. Finally, golf clubs can be rested upon the horizontal member.

Furthermore, the device can be used for a variety of clubs and can be used to support other golf equipment. In this manner, the portable golf club stand device provides a solution to keeping dirt and moisture from coming into contact with a golf club grip.

The device 100 is comprised of a body 110 comprised of a vertical member 120, at least one horizontal member 130, and at least one secondary vertical member 132. The vertical member 120 is comprised of a pointed first end 122 that allows the member 120 to be secured into a ground surface in a generally vertical position. The second end 124 of the vertical member 120 is comprised of at least one horizontal member 130 and / or at least one secondary member 132 that may receive a golf club 10 in a vertical position.

In a different embodiment, the horizontal member 130 is removably attached to the second end 124 via at least one connector 140 of any style such as, but not limited to, a snap connector, a magnetic connector, etc. The connector 140 (or any other part of the device 100) may also be comprised of at least one fastener 150, such as, but not limited to, a hook surface, a loop surface, a magnet, etc., that may receive golf-related items such as, but not limited to, golf gloves, golf tees, golf balls, golf ball markers, etc.

1. A portable golf club stand device comprising:a vertical member comprised of a pointed first end; anda second end comprised of a horizontal member and a secondary vertical member.

2. The portable golf club stand device of claim 1, wherein the vertical member fixedly attaches to the horizontal member.

3. The portable golf club stand device of claim 2, wherein a vertical axis of the vertical member forms a 90-degree angle with a horizontal axis of the horizontal member.

4. The portable golf club stand device of claim 1 further comprised of a fastener.

5. The portable golf club stand device of claim 1, wherein the fastener is comprised of a hook surface, a loop surface, or a magnet.

6. A portable golf club stand device comprising:a vertical member comprised of a pointed first end;a second end comprised of a horizontal member and a secondary vertical member; anda connector.

7. The portable golf club stand device of claim 6, wherein the horizontal member attaches to the connector.

8. The portable golf club stand device of claim 6, wherein the vertical member attaches to the connector.

9. The portable golf club stand device of claim 6, wherein the vertical member attaches to the connector.

10. The portable golf club stand device of claim 6 further comprised of a fastener.

11. The portable golf club stand device of claim 6, wherein the fastener is positioned on the connector.

12. The portable golf club stand device of claim 6, wherein the fastener is comprised of a hook surface, a loop surface, or a magnet.

13. The portable golf club stand device of claim 6, wherein the connector is comprised of a snap connector.

14. The portable golf club stand device of claim 6, wherein the connector is comprised of a magnetic connector.

15. A method of using a portable golf club stand device, the method comprising the following steps:providing a portable golf club stand device comprised of a vertical member, a horizontal member, a first secondary vertical member attached to the horizontal member, a second secondary vertical member attached to a horizontal member, a connector, and a fastener;placing a first end of the vertical member into a ground surface; andleaning a golf club against the horizontal member such that a grip of the golf club is positioned between the first secondary vertical member and the second secondary vertical member.

16. The method of using a portable golf club stand device of claim 15, wherein the fastener is positioned on the connector.

17. The method of using a portable golf club stand device of claim 15, wherein the vertical member is attached to the connector.

18. The method of using a portable golf club stand device of claim 15, wherein the horizontal member is attached to the connector.

19. The method of using a portable golf club stand device of claim 15, wherein the fastener is comprised of a magnet.

20. The method of using a portable golf club stand device of claim 15, wherein the fastener is comprised of a hook surface or a loop surface.
