[0044] Garment for cooling an individual wearing a PPE
[0045] A garment according to the invention is generally indicated in the figures by the numeral reference 1. The garment 1 according to the present invention, is devised to be worn at a torso B of the individual.
[0046] The garment 1 according to the present invention is devised to cool the individual wearing radioprotective personal protective equipment (in the following, also simply referred to as “PPE”).
[0047] For this purpose, the garment 1 according to the present invention, is destined to be used under the radioprotective personal protective equipment so as to be interposed between the torso of an individual and the personal protective equipment itself, that is also worn by the individual. As the garment 1 is interposed in this way, it forms a gap G between the torso of an individual and the personal protective equipment, enabling and promoting the cooling of the body of the individual wearing the PPE because air can circulate in this gap G.
[0048] The garment 1 comprises:
[0049] a belt-like portion 2 (or, simply, belt) configured to engage and / or maintain the garment 1 engaged with a portion, particularly a lumbar and / or abdominal portion, of the torso of an individual,
[0050] at least one engagement portion 3 capable of engaging at least at an upper portion of the torso of an individual, particularly at at least one shoulder and / or chest and / or back of the individual,
[0051] an air movement device 4 configured to move air, under operating conditions of the garment 1, in the direction of the torso B of the individual wearing the garment (movement of air approaching the torso of the individual) or, alternatively, to move air so that it exits the zone of the torso B towards the bottom, for example in the direction of the floor (movement of air away from the torso of the individual).
[0052] The air movement device 4 allows the air to circulate in said gap G formed between the garment 1 and the personal protective equipment, by entering the gap G or by exiting it, in order to promote the thermal comfort of the individual.
[0053] The engagement portion 3 is connected to or configured to be connected to the belt-like portion 2 and is configured to engage, under operating conditions, the lumbar and / or abdominal portion of the individual wearing the garment 1.
