Abstract

A new garden type Campanula plant named ‘CIPZ0011’ particularly distinguished by its medium vigor, mounded to upright plant habit, a large size flower with blue flower color, and its flowering in June in moderate climate conditions.

Description

[0001] Latin name of the genus and species of the plant claimed: Campanula interspecific.

[0002] Varietal denomination: ‘CIPZ0011’.BACKGROUND OF THE NEW PLANT

[0003] The present invention comprises a new Campanula, botanically known as Campanula interspecific and hereinafter referred to by the variety name ‘CIPZ0011’.

[0004] ‘CIPZ0011’ is a product of a planned breeding program. The new cultivar is medium vigorous, has a mounded to upright plant habit, a large size flower with blue flower color, and is flowering in June in moderate climate conditions.

[0005] ‘CIPZ0011’ originated from a cross made in June 2017 in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands. Seeds were sown in February 2018 in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands and ‘CIPZ0011’ was selected from the resulting population in June 2018 in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands.

[0006] The female parent was the proprietary seedling ‘PERAV1814-2’, not patented.

[0010] The first act of asexual reproduction of ‘CIPZ0011’ was accomplished when vegetative stem cuttings were propagated from the initial selection in September 2018 in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands.BRIEF SUMMARY OF INVENTION

[0011] Horticultural examination of plants grown from cuttings of the plant initiated in September 2018 and continuing thereafter, has demonstrated that the combination of characteristics as herein disclosed for ‘CIPZ0011’ are firmly fixed and are retained through successive generations of asexual reproduction.

[0012] ‘CIPZ0011’ has not been observed under all possible environmental conditions. The phenotype may vary significantly with variations in environment such as temperature, light intensity and day length.

[0013] A Plant Breeder's Right for this cultivar has not yet been applied for. ‘CIPZ0011’ has not been made publicly available prior to the effective filing date of this application, notwithstanding any disclosure that may have been made less than one year prior to the effective filing date of this application by the inventor or another who obtained ‘CIPZ0011’ directly from the inventor.

[0019] These plants were about 21 weeks of age. One rooted cutting per pot had been planted in a 15 cm pot, not pinched.
