Technical Field

[0002] Embodiments of the present application relate to the field of display technology, and in particular to a display panel and a manufacturing method thereof, a display screen module, and an electronic device. Background Art

[0003] OLED display panels have many advantages, such as being thin and light, high contrast, fast response speed, flexible and foldable, etc. However, OLED display panels currently still have the problem of low light extraction efficiency.

[0004] Summary of the Invention

[0005] The purpose of the embodiments of the present application is to provide a display panel and a manufacturing method thereof, a display screen module and an electronic device, which are used to solve the problem of low light extraction efficiency of the display panel.

[0006] In order to achieve the above objectives, the present invention provides the following solutions:

[0007] In one aspect, a display panel is provided, comprising a display substrate, a lens layer, a touch function layer, and a color filter layer. The display substrate comprises a plurality of light-emitting portions. The lens layer is located on the light-emitting side of the display substrate and comprises a plurality of lenses. The touch function layer is located on the side of the lens layer facing away from the display substrate. The touch function layer comprises a transparent insulating layer and a plurality of intersecting touch traces. The plurality of intersecting touch traces form a mesh, the orthographic projection of the mesh on a reference surface overlaps with the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion on the reference surface. The transparent insulating layer contacts the surface of the plurality of lenses facing away from the display substrate. The refractive index of the transparent insulating layer is different from the refractive index of the plurality of lenses. The reference surface is parallel to the surface of the transparent insulating layer facing away from the display substrate. The color filter layer is located on the side of the touch function layer away from the lens layer. The color filter layer includes a light-shielding portion and multiple color filter portions. The orthographic projection of the light-shielding portion on the reference surface overlaps with the orthographic projection of the touch trace on the reference surface. The light-shielding portion has multiple openings. The multiple color filter portions are arranged in the multiple openings. The orthographic projection of the multiple color filter portions on the reference surface overlaps with the orthographic projection of the multiple light-emitting portions on the reference surface.

[0008] The display panel provided in the embodiment of the present application has multiple lenses in the lens layer located below the color filter layer (i.e., the light incident side of the color filter layer). Therefore, the outgoing light of the light-emitting part can be first gathered and then filtered through the color filter layer. Compared with the solution of arranging multiple lenses in the lens layer above the color filter layer (i.e., the light exiting side of the color filter layer) and filtering the light first and then gathering the light, it can effectively improve the light extraction efficiency and achieve a light extraction effect at a larger angle. In addition, since the multiple lenses in the lens layer are placed below the touch function layer (i.e., the light incident side of the touch function layer), the touch function layer is arranged between the color filter layer and the lens layer, so that the transparent insulating layer in the touch function layer can contact the surface of the multiple lenses facing away from the display substrate. At the same time, since the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer is different from the refractive index of the multiple lenses, the transparent insulating layer can be used to form a flat surface on the side of the transparent insulating layer facing away from the display substrate, and the transparent insulating layer can be reused to form a high-low refractive interface between the transparent insulating layer and the lenses, which has a convergence effect on the outgoing light of the light-emitting part. With this arrangement, there is no need to add refractive film layers on both sides of the lens layer, making the structure of the display panel simpler and thinner, which is also conducive to simplifying the preparation process of the display panel.

[0009] In some embodiments, at least one of the lenses is a first lens, and the orthographic projection of the first lens on the reference surface overlaps with the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion on the reference surface. This configuration allows the first lens to focus most of the light from the light-emitting portion at a normal viewing angle, achieving a good focusing effect and thus improving light extraction efficiency. Exemplarily, the first lens can be a convex lens, for example, where the surface of the first lens closest to the light-emitting portion can be a flat surface, and the surface of the first lens facing away from the light-emitting portion can be a convex surface.

[0010] In some embodiments, the distance between the orthographic projection edge of the first lens on the reference surface and the orthographic projection edge of the light-emitting portion on the reference surface is in the range of 1μm-4μm, and the reference surface is parallel to the light-emitting portion. In this example, by setting the distance between the orthographic projection edge of the first lens on the reference surface and the orthographic projection edge of the light-emitting portion on the reference surface to be in the range of 1μm-4μm, the wide-angle light emitted by the light-emitting portion can be effectively converged, thereby improving light extraction efficiency.

[0011] In some embodiments, the thickness of the first lens is in the range of 1 μm to 3 μm. This configuration is conducive to ensuring that the first lens has a good light-collecting effect.

[0012] In some embodiments, the first lens includes a first side surface; along the light emitting direction of the light emitting portion, the first side surface gradually tilts toward the central axis of the first lens; the acute angle between the tangent plane of the first side surface and the reference plane is in the range of 40°-80°, and the reference plane is parallel to the light emitting portion. In this example, the first side surface can be an oblique plane or an oblique curved surface. By setting the acute angle between the tangent plane of the first side surface and the reference plane to be in the range of 40°-80°, the reflection angle of the light directed to the first side surface can be effectively adjusted, thereby achieving a good convergence effect on the light with large angles at the edge.

[0013] In some embodiments, the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer is lower than that of the first lens. For example, the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer may be 1.45-1.55. In this example, because the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer is lower than that of the first lens, light emitted from the first lens to the transparent insulating layer does not undergo total internal reflection, thereby further improving light extraction efficiency.

[0014] In some embodiments, at least one of the lenses is a second lens, and the orthographic projection of the second lens on a reference plane surrounds the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion on the reference plane; the reference plane is parallel to the light-emitting portion. This configuration allows the second lens to converge wide-angle light from the light-emitting portion, achieving a good light-collecting effect, thereby preventing wide-angle light from striking the light-shielding portion and improving light extraction efficiency.

[0015] In some embodiments, the second lens includes an inner circumferential surface, and the distance between the orthographic projection of the inner circumferential surface on the reference surface and the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion on the reference surface is in the range of 0 μm to 4 μm. In this example, by setting the distance between the orthographic projection of the inner circumferential surface on the reference surface and the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion on the reference surface to be in the range of 0 μm to 4 μm, the wide-angle light emitted by the light-emitting portion can be effectively converged, thereby improving light extraction efficiency.

[0016] In some embodiments, the thickness of the second lens is in the range of 1 μm to 4 μm. This configuration is conducive to ensuring that the second lens has a good light-collecting effect.

[0017] In some embodiments, along the light-emitting direction of the light-emitting portion, the inner peripheral surface gradually moves away from the central axis of the lens; the acute angle between the tangent plane of the inner peripheral surface and the reference plane is in the range of 30°-90°. In this example, the inner peripheral surface can be an inclined plane or an inclined curved surface. By setting the acute angle between the tangent plane of the inner peripheral surface and the reference plane in the range of 30°-90°, the reflection angle of light directed toward the inner peripheral surface can be effectively adjusted, thereby achieving a good convergence effect on light with large angles at the edges.

[0018] In some embodiments, the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer is higher than that of the second lens. For example, the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer can be 1.6-1.8. In this example, because the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer is higher than that of the second lens, light from the second lens is less likely to pass through the transparent insulating layer and reach the light shielding portion. This helps increase the amount of light emitted from the area directly facing the light-emitting portion, thereby improving display brightness.

[0019] In some embodiments, the light shielding portion contacts the touch traces. This configuration allows the light shielding portion of the color filter layer to directly cover the topmost touch traces, thereby eliminating the need for an insulating layer in the touch function layer that covers the topmost touch traces. The topmost layer refers to the layer furthest from the display substrate. This simplifies the display panel structure and manufacturing process.

[0020] In some embodiments, the touch function layer includes a first wiring layer and a second wiring layer; the multiple intersecting touch traces are located in the first wiring layer and the second wiring layer; the transparent insulating layer includes a first insulating layer and a second insulating layer, the first insulating layer being located on the side of the lens layer facing away from the display substrate; the first wiring layer being located on the side of the first insulating layer facing away from the lens layer; the second insulating layer being located on the side of the first wiring layer facing away from the first insulating layer; the second wiring layer being located on the side of the second insulating layer facing away from the first wiring layer; the second wiring layer being in contact with the light shielding portion, and the first insulating layer being in contact with the second insulating layer. With this arrangement, the touch function layer can implement touch control functions, and the light shielding portion in the color filter layer can be used to directly cover the topmost touch traces, thereby allowing the transparent insulating layer to include only the first insulating layer and the second insulating layer, eliminating the need for a third insulating layer above the second wiring layer.

[0021] In some embodiments, the refractive index of the lens layer is in the range of 1.6-1.8. This configuration enables the multiple lenses in the lens layer to be high-refractive lenses, which is beneficial for improving light extraction efficiency.

[0022] In some embodiments, the display substrate includes an encapsulation layer comprising, in order, a first inorganic layer, an organic layer, and a second inorganic layer located distal from the light-emitting portion, wherein the refractive index of the second inorganic layer is greater than the refractive index of the lens. In this embodiment, because the refractive index of the second inorganic layer is greater than the refractive index of the lens, light emitted from the second inorganic layer toward the lens is not totally reflected, thereby further improving light extraction efficiency.

[0023] In some embodiments, the lens is used to converge the light emitted from the light emitting portion. In this embodiment, the light emitted from the light emitting portion can be converged effectively by adjusting the refractive index relationship between the lens and the transparent insulating layer, the refractive index relationship between the lens and the second inorganic layer, and the shape of the lens itself.

[0024] In some embodiments, a light-emitting portion corresponds to a lens, an opening, a color filter portion, and a mesh, wherein the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion on the reference surface and the orthographic projection of the corresponding opening on the reference surface, the orthographic projection of the corresponding color filter portion on the reference surface, and the orthographic projection of the corresponding mesh on the reference surface have a common overlapping area. In this embodiment, the light emitted by a light-emitting portion can be modulated (such as converged) by a lens and then emitted to the color filter portion at an opening through a mesh. In this way, the light between different light-emitting portions is less likely to crosstalk, thereby improving the display contrast. In addition, the one-to-one control method is also beneficial to prevent more light from being blocked by the shading portion, further improving the light extraction efficiency and achieving a light extraction effect at a larger angle.

[0025] On the other hand, a method for preparing a display panel is provided, comprising: forming a display substrate, the display substrate comprising a plurality of light-emitting portions; forming a lens layer, the lens layer being located on a light-emitting side of the display substrate, the lens layer comprising a plurality of lenses; forming a touch function layer, the touch function layer being located on a side of the lens layer facing away from the display substrate, the touch function layer comprising a transparent insulating layer and a plurality of mutually intersecting touch traces, the plurality of mutually intersecting touch traces forming a mesh, the orthographic projection of the mesh on a reference surface overlapping the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion on the reference surface; the transparent insulating layer being in contact with a surface of the plurality of lenses facing away from the display substrate, the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer being equal to that of the plurality of lenses The refractive indices of the lenses are different; the reference surface is parallel to the surface of the transparent insulating layer facing away from the display substrate; a color filter layer is formed, and the color filter layer is located on the side of the touch function layer facing away from the lens layer; the color filter layer includes a shading portion and a plurality of color filter portions, the orthographic projection of the shading portion on the reference surface overlaps with the orthographic projection of the touch trace on the reference surface, the shading portion has a plurality of openings, the plurality of color filter portions are arranged in the plurality of openings, and the orthographic projection of the plurality of color filter portions on the reference surface overlaps with the orthographic projection of the plurality of light-emitting portions on the reference surface.

[0026] The method for manufacturing a display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application can form a display panel. In the display panel, because the multiple lenses in the lens layer are located below the color filter layer (i.e., on the light-entering side of the color filter layer), the light emitted from the light-emitting portion can be first gathered and then filtered by the color filter layer. Compared to a solution in which the multiple lenses in the lens layer are located above the color filter layer (i.e., on the light-emitting side of the color filter layer), filtering the light first and then gathering it, this method can effectively improve light extraction efficiency and achieve a light extraction effect at a wider angle.

[0027] On the other hand, a display screen module is provided. It includes: the display panel of any of the previous embodiments; and a flexible circuit board, one end of which is electrically connected to the display panel. In this embodiment, the display panel and the flexible circuit board are combined, and by providing the flexible circuit board, it is convenient to electrically connect the display panel with other devices. In addition, the display screen module provided in the embodiment of the present application, since it includes the display panel of any of the previous embodiments, has the beneficial effects of the display panel of any of the previous embodiments, and will not be repeated here. On the other hand, an electronic device is provided, including: a control circuit board; and the previous display screen module, the second end of the flexible circuit board in the display screen module is electrically connected to the control circuit board. Such an arrangement enables the control circuit board to control the display panel. In addition, the electronic device provided in the embodiment of the present application, since it includes the display panel of any of the previous embodiments, has the beneficial effects of the display panel of any of the previous embodiments, and will not be repeated here. Exemplarily, the electronic device may be a portable electronic device. Exemplarily, the electronic device may be any electronic device with heat dissipation requirements.

[0048] Please refer to Figure 1, which is a schematic diagram of the structure of an electronic device 1000 provided in an embodiment of the present application. For ease of description, the width direction of electronic device 1000 is defined as the X1 axis; the length direction of electronic device 1000 is defined as the Y1 axis; and the thickness direction of electronic device 1000 is defined as the Z1 axis. It will be understood that the coordinate system of electronic device 1000 can be flexibly configured according to specific practical needs.

[0049] In the embodiment of Figure 1, the electronic device 1000 is a mobile phone. For example, the electronic device 1000 may include a display panel 1. In addition, the electronic device 1000 may also include components such as a back shell 1001, a circuit board (not shown), and a battery (not shown). It will be understood that Figure 1 only schematically shows some components included in the electronic device 1000, and the actual shape, actual size, actual position and actual structure of these components are not limited by Figure 1 and the following figures. For example, in some other examples, the electronic device 1000 may not include a battery, for example, it can be directly connected to an external power supply for use.

[0050] For example, the display panel 1 can be combined with a flexible circuit board to form a display screen module. In some examples, a first end of the flexible circuit board is bonded to a side edge of the display panel 1, and a connector is provided at the other end of the flexible circuit board for plugging into a control circuit board in the electronic device 1000. This arrangement makes the display module easier to install and remove.

[0051] The display panel 1 is used to display images, videos, etc. The display panel 1 can be a flexible display screen or a rigid display screen. Exemplarily, the display panel 1 can be any one of an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display screen, an active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display screen, a mini organic light-emitting diode (MLED) display screen, a micro organic light-emitting diode (MLED) display screen, a micro organic light-emitting diode (MLED) display screen, a quantum dot light-emitting diode (QLED) display screen, and a liquid crystal display (LCD).

[0052] The back shell 1001 is used to protect the internal electronic components (such as circuit boards, batteries) of the electronic device 1000. Among them, the back shell 1001 may include a back cover and a middle frame, and the middle frame is fixed to the back cover. Exemplarily, the middle frame can be fixed to the back cover by adhesive. The middle frame can also be an integrally molded structure with the back cover, that is, the middle frame and the back cover are an integral structure. The display panel 1 can be connected to the middle frame. The aforementioned circuit board, battery and other components can be provided in the space between the screen, the middle frame and the back cover. The circuit board may include a flexible circuit board and a rigid circuit board. Power devices such as chips may be provided on the circuit board.

[0053] Based on the above-mentioned electronic device 1000, the inventors of the present application have found that it has the problem of low light extraction efficiency. Taking the electronic device 1000 including an OLED display panel as an example, the OLED display panel has many advantages, such as being light and thin, high contrast, high response speed, flexible and foldable. With the development and upgrading of High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDRI or HDR) technology and the demand for outdoor use scenarios, consumers have increasingly higher demands for the brightness of display products. Current OLED display panels are limited by factors such as the luminous efficiency of the material of the electroluminescence (EL) layer, the external quantum efficiency (EQE) of the OLED display panel, and the opening size of the pixel definition layer (PDL). There is still a lot of room for improvement in brightness. Among them, due to the surface plasmon polaritons (SPP) loss at the cathode and anode interfaces on both sides of the EL layer, the waveguide loss inside the OLED display panel, and the absorption of the material, the EQE of the OLED display panel is less than 20%.

[0054] Please refer to Figures 2 to 4. Figure 2 is a structural diagram of a display panel (without the low-fold lens 112) provided in an embodiment of the present application. Figure 3 is a structural diagram of another display panel (with the low-fold lens 112) provided in an embodiment of the present application. Figure 4 is a brightness curve diagram of the display panels under different viewing angles corresponding to the embodiments of Figures 2 and 3.

[0055] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG2 , the display panel 1 is an OLED display panel, and the OLED display panel includes a display substrate 100, a touch function layer 200, a high-refractive transparent flat layer 113, and a glass cover 114. In other embodiments, as shown in FIG3 , compared with the display panel 1 shown in FIG2 , a low-refractive lens 112 is added between the touch function layer 200 and the high-refractive transparent flat layer 113. In conjunction with FIG4 , it can be seen that the low-refractive lens 112 is combined with the high-refractive transparent flat layer 113 to improve the brightness of light within a small angle range (such as within 20 degrees). In conjunction with FIG2 and FIG3 , it can be seen that the display panel shown in FIG3 mainly transfers light exceeding 30° to the positive viewing angle direction to achieve the effect of improving power consumption, but it will also cause an increase in light attenuation at 30°.

[0056] The display substrate 100 may include a substrate 101, a circuit structure layer 102 (e.g., including a pixel circuit and a gate drive circuit), an anode 103, a pixel definition layer 105, a light-emitting portion 104, a cathode 106, and an encapsulation layer 110, which are stacked in sequence. The encapsulation layer 110 may include, for example, a first inorganic layer 107, an organic layer 108, and a second inorganic layer 109.

[0057] FIG5 is a structural diagram of another display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application. Referring to FIG5 , the display panel 1 is also an OLED display panel. The difference compared to the embodiment of FIG3 is that the circuit structure layer 102 and the anode 103 are not shown, and a light extraction layer C1 and an anti-reflection layer C2 are added between the cathode 106 and the encapsulation layer 110. Exemplarily, the material of the light extraction layer C1 includes organic matter, and the light extraction layer C1 can suppress the SPP effect to adjust the light extraction efficiency. Exemplarily, the anti-reflection layer C2 can be a lithium fluoride layer, and the anti-reflection layer C2 can make the light reflect multiple times therein, and after interference superposition, it is emitted to the encapsulation layer 110, thereby improving the light extraction efficiency.

[0058] In addition, the display panel in Figure 5 is not provided with a touch function layer 200, but a color filter layer 300 is directly provided outside the encapsulation layer 110. The color filter layer 300 includes a light-shielding portion 301 and multiple color filter portions 302. The light-shielding portion 301 has multiple openings, and the multiple color filter portions 302 are provided in the multiple openings. For example, the multiple light-emitting portions may include a red light-emitting portion, a green light-emitting portion, and a blue light-emitting portion, and the multiple color filter portions 302 may include a red color filter portion 302, a green color filter portion 302, and a blue color filter portion 302. The red color filter portion 302 can be located on the light-emitting side of the red light-emitting portion, the green color filter portion 302 can be located on the light-emitting side of the green color filter portion 302, and the blue color filter portion 302 can be located on the light-emitting side of the blue light-emitting portion. By providing the color filter layer 300, a (Color filter On Encapsulation, COE) structure can be formed, which plays a role in reducing the reflection of external ambient light, thereby eliminating the polarizer. Therefore, it can also be called a polarizer-free technology.

[0059] Illustratively, a surface treatment layer 115 may be formed on the light emitting surface of the glass cover plate 114 . The surface treatment layer 115 may, for example, increase the surface hardness.

[0060] Figure 6 is a graph showing the brightness of the three colors of the display panel in Figure 5, according to an embodiment of the present application. Referring to Figures 5 and 6, it can be seen that the COE structure itself also leads to increased light attenuation, because the presence of the light shielding portion 301 in the OLED display panel blocks some light at a wide viewing angle.

[0061] FIG7 is a structural diagram of another display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application. Referring to FIG7 , in some embodiments of the present application, the display panel 1 includes a display substrate 100 , a touch function layer 200 , a color filter layer 300 , two high-refractive index transparent flat layers 113 , and a low-refractive index lens 112 .

[0062] 3 , the display substrate 100 does not include the substrate 101, circuit structure layer 102, anode 103, and cathode 106. Instead, it includes a flat layer PLN (i.e., a flat layer located between the circuit structure layer 102 and the anode 103) and a color filter layer 300. The glass cover 114 is not shown. Furthermore, low-refractive-resistance lenses 112 are positioned on the light-exiting side of the color filter layer 300, and high-refractive-resistance transparent flat layers 113 are placed on both sides of the lens layer 400. The display panel 1 shown in FIG7 presents at least two issues: first, the arrangement of two high-refractive-resistance transparent flat layers 113 and low-refractive-resistance lenses 112 on the light-exiting side of the color filter layer 300 complicates the manufacturing process; second, the color filter layer 300 itself attenuates high-angle light (as can be seen from FIG5 and FIG6 ), and positioning the low-refractive-resistance lenses 112 on the light-exiting side of the color filter layer 300 further attenuates high-angle light.

[0063] Based on the above problems, the present invention provides another display panel 1. Please refer to Figure 8, which is a structural diagram of another display panel 1 provided by the present invention. The display panel 1 includes a display substrate 100, a lens layer 400, a touch function layer 200, and a color filter layer 300.

[0064] The structure of the display substrate 100 can be found in the previous description. The display substrate 100 includes multiple light-emitting units 104. A lens layer 400 is located on the light-emitting side of the display substrate 100 and includes multiple lenses 40A. Lenses 40A can converge the light emitted by the light-emitting units 104. In some examples, one lens 40A may be provided for each light-emitting unit 104. In other examples, multiple lenses 40A may be provided for each light-emitting unit 104.

[0065] The touch function layer 200 is located on the side of the lens layer 400 facing away from the display substrate 100. The touch function layer 200 includes a transparent insulating layer 20C and a plurality of intersecting touch traces 20A. The plurality of intersecting touch traces 20A form a mesh 20B. The orthographic projection of the mesh 20B on a reference plane M overlaps with the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference plane M. The reference plane M can be parallel to the surface of the transparent insulating layer 20C facing away from the display substrate 100. Here, the orthographic projection of the mesh 20B on the reference plane M overlaps with the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference plane M, including partial overlap and full overlap. In the case of partial overlap, the light-emitting portion 104 is not completely covered by the mesh 20B, and light from the light-emitting portion 104 can partially or completely pass through the mesh 20B. When all overlap, the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference plane M can be located within the orthographic projection of the edge of the mesh 20B (e.g., the touch trace 20A) on the reference plane M. This configuration facilitates allowing more light emitted from the light-emitting portion 104 to pass through the mesh 20B, thereby improving display brightness. In other embodiments, the orthographic projection of the mesh 20B on the reference plane M and the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference plane M may not overlap. In this case, due to the certain distance between the mesh 20B and the light-emitting portion, the mesh 20B can still allow light emitted from the light-emitting portion 104 to pass through.

[0066] The color filter layer 300 is located on the side of the touch function layer 200 away from the lens layer 400. The color filter layer 300 includes a light shielding portion 301 and multiple color filter portions 302. The light shielding portion 301 has multiple openings 30A, and the multiple color filter portions 302 are disposed in the multiple openings 30A.

[0067] The orthographic projection of the light shielding portion 301 on the reference plane M overlaps with the orthographic projection of the touch trace 20A on the reference plane M. This includes both partial and full overlap. By setting the orthographic projection of the light shielding portion 301 on the reference plane M to overlap with the orthographic projection of the touch trace 20A on the reference plane M, it is possible to prevent the touch trace 20A from reflecting external light and affecting the display effect. In other embodiments, the orthographic projection of the light shielding portion 301 on the reference plane M and the orthographic projection of the touch trace 20A on the reference plane M may not overlap. In this case, the alignment accuracy can be reduced, thereby reducing the difficulty of manufacturing the display panel 1.

[0068] The orthographic projections of the multiple color filter portions 302 on the reference plane M overlap with the orthographic projections of the multiple light-emitting portions 104 on the reference plane M. This also includes partial overlap and full overlap. By arranging for the orthographic projections of the multiple color filter portions 302 on the reference plane M to overlap with the orthographic projections of the multiple light-emitting portions 104 on the reference plane M, the color filter portions 302 can be used to filter the light emitted by the light-emitting portions 104. For example, one color filter portion 302 can be provided for each light-emitting portion 104. In other embodiments, the orthographic projections of the multiple color filter portions 302 on the reference plane M and the orthographic projections of the multiple light-emitting portions 104 on the reference plane M may not overlap. In this case, it is only necessary to ensure that the light emitted by the light-emitting portion 104 can be directly or indirectly emitted to the corresponding color filter portion 302 through other light-guiding structures, so that the color filter portion 302 can be used to filter the light emitted by the light-emitting portion 104.

[0069] In the display panel 1 provided in the above-mentioned embodiment of the present application, since the multiple lenses 40A in the lens layer 400 are located below the color filter layer (in the direction shown in the figure, that is, the light incident side of the color filter layer 300), the outgoing light of the light-emitting portion 104 can be first gathered and then filtered through the color filter layer 300. Compared with the solution of arranging the multiple lenses 40A in the lens layer 400 above the color filter layer (that is, the light exiting side of the color filter layer) and filtering the light first and then gathering the light, the light extraction efficiency can be effectively improved and a light extraction effect with a larger angle can be achieved. In addition, since the multiple lenses 40A in the lens layer 400 are placed below the touch function layer 200 (in the direction shown in the figure, that is, the light incident side of the touch function layer 200), the touch function layer 200 is arranged between the color filter layer 300 and the lens layer 400, so that the transparent insulating layer 20C of the touch function layer 200 can contact the surface of the multiple lenses 40A facing away from the display substrate 100, and since the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer 20C is different from the refractive index of the multiple lenses 40A, the transparent insulating layer 20C can be used to C, a flat surface is formed on the side of the transparent insulating layer 20C facing away from the display substrate 100, and the transparent insulating layer 20C can be reused to form a high-low refractive index interface between the transparent insulating layer 20C and the lens 40A, thereby gathering the light emitted from the light-emitting portion 104. That is, compared with the embodiment of Figure 7, two high-refractive index transparent flat layers 113 can be reduced, thereby reducing two MASK processes. Therefore, the display panel 1 provided in the embodiment of the present application also has the advantages of a simple structure, being lighter and thinner, and being easier to manufacture.

[0070] Exemplarily, a light-emitting portion 104 may correspond to a lens 40A, an opening 30A, a color filter portion 302, and a mesh 20B, wherein the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference plane M and the orthographic projection of the corresponding opening 30A on the reference plane M, the orthographic projection of the corresponding color filter portion 302 on the reference plane M, and the orthographic projection of the corresponding mesh 20B on the reference plane M have a common overlapping area. In this embodiment, the light emitted by a light-emitting portion 104 can be modulated (such as converged) by a lens 40A, and then emitted to the color filter portion 302 at an opening 30A through a mesh 20B. In this way, the light between different light-emitting portions 104 is less likely to crosstalk, thereby improving the display contrast. In addition, the one-to-one control method is also conducive to preventing more light from being blocked by the light-shielding portion 301, further improving the light extraction efficiency, and achieving a light extraction effect at a larger angle.

[0071] In some examples, as shown in FIG7 , the transparent insulating layer 20C includes a first insulating layer 203, a second insulating layer 204, and a third insulating layer 205 that are in contact with each other. In other examples, as shown in FIG8 , the transparent insulating layer 20C includes only the first insulating layer 203 and the second insulating layer 204 that are in contact with each other, but does not include the third insulating layer 205. In both of the above examples, the transparent insulating layer 20C can replace the two high-refractive transparent flat layers 113, thereby reducing at least two mask processes. The first insulating layer 203, the second insulating layer 204, and the third insulating layer 205 can be organic insulating layers.

[0072] Exemplarily, the light shielding portion 301 contacts the touch trace 20A. With this configuration, the light shielding portion 301 in the color filter layer 300 can be used to directly cover the topmost touch trace 20A, thereby omitting the insulating layer (e.g., the third insulating layer 205) in the touch function layer 200 that covers the topmost touch trace 20A. The topmost layer refers to the layer farthest from the display substrate 100. Therefore, compared to the embodiment of FIG. 7 , the third insulating layer 205 is omitted, which means another mask process is eliminated, further simplifying the structure of the display panel 1 and simplifying the manufacturing process of the display panel 1.

[0073] In some examples, the touch function layer 200 may further include a first wiring layer 201 and a second wiring layer 202, with the plurality of intersecting touch traces 20A located in the first wiring layer 201 and the second wiring layer 202. Continuing with FIG8 , the first insulating layer 203 is located on the side of the lens layer 400 facing away from the display substrate 100, the first wiring layer 201 is located on the side of the first insulating layer 203 facing away from the lens layer 400, the second insulating layer 204 is located on the side of the first wiring layer 201 facing away from the first insulating layer 203, and the second wiring layer 202 is located on the side of the second insulating layer 204 facing away from the first wiring layer 201. For example, the touch traces 20A in the second wiring layer 202 may directly contact the light shielding portion 301 in the color filter layer 300. This means that the third insulating layer 205 is omitted compared to the embodiment of FIG7 . The touch function layer 200 is used to implement touch control functionality.

[0074] Next, the lens 40A in the embodiment of the present application is introduced.

[0075] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG8 , at least one lens 40A in the lens layer 400 is a first lens 401. The orthographic projection of the first lens 401 on the reference plane M overlaps with the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference plane M. This includes partial overlap and full overlap. With this arrangement, the first lens 401 can be used to converge most of the light from the light-emitting portion 104 at a normal viewing angle, achieving a good light-focusing effect and thereby improving light extraction efficiency.

[0076] Exemplarily, the distance a1 between the orthographic projection edge of the first lens 401 on the reference plane M and the orthographic projection edge of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference plane M ranges from 1 μm to 4 μm. For example, the distance a1 between the orthographic projection edge of the first lens 401 on the reference plane M and the orthographic projection edge of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference plane M may be 1 μm, 2 μm, 3.5 μm, or 4 μm, etc., wherein the reference plane M is parallel to the light-emitting portion.

[0077] In this example, by setting the distance a1 between the orthographic projection edge of the first lens 401 on the reference plane M and the orthographic projection edge of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference plane M to a value in the range of 1μm-4μm, the large-angle light emitted by the light-emitting portion 104 can be effectively gathered, thereby improving the light extraction efficiency.

[0078] For example, the thickness a2 of the first lens 401 ranges from 1 μm to 3 μm. This configuration is beneficial for ensuring that the first lens 401 has a good light-collecting effect.

[0079] Illustratively, the first lens 401 includes a first side surface P1. Along the light-emitting direction of the light-emitting portion 104, the first side surface P1 gradually approaches the central axis of the first lens 401. An acute angle m1 between a tangent plane of the first side surface P1 and a reference plane M ranges from 40° to 80°. For example, the acute angle m1 between the tangent plane of the first side surface P1 and the reference plane M can be 40°, 50°, 60°, 70°, or 80°. The reference plane M is parallel to the light-emitting portion 104.

[0080] In this example, the first side surface P1 can be an oblique plane or an oblique curved surface. By setting the acute angle m1 between the tangent plane of the first side surface P1 and the reference plane M to a value range of 40°-80°, the reflection angle of light incident on the first side surface P1 can be effectively adjusted, thereby achieving a good convergence effect on light with large angles at the edge.

[0081] For example, in the embodiment of FIG8 , the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer 20C is lower than that of the first lens 401. For example, the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer 20C may be 1.45 to 1.55. In this example, because the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer 20C is lower than that of the first lens 401, light emitted from the first lens 401 toward the transparent insulating layer 20C does not undergo total internal reflection, thereby further improving light extraction efficiency.

[0082] FIG9 is a structural diagram of another display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application.

[0083] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG9 , at least one lens 40A in the lens layer 400 is a second lens 402, and the orthographic projection of the second lens 402 on the reference plane M surrounds the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference plane M (in this case, the orthographic projection of the second lens 402 on the reference plane M and the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference plane M may not overlap). The reference plane M is parallel to the light-emitting portion 104. With this arrangement, the second lens 402 can be used to converge large-angle light from the light-emitting portion 104, achieving a good light-collecting effect, thereby preventing large-angle light from being directed toward the light-shielding portion 301 and improving light extraction efficiency.

[0084] Exemplarily, the second lens 402 includes an inner peripheral surface P2, and the distance b1 between the orthographic projection of the inner peripheral surface P2 on the reference surface M and the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference surface M is in the range of 0μm-4μm. For example, the distance b1 between the orthographic projection of the inner peripheral surface P2 on the reference surface M and the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference surface M is in the range of 2μm-3μm; for another example, the distance b1 between the orthographic projection of the inner peripheral surface P2 on the reference surface M and the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference surface M can be 0μm, 1μm, 2μm, 3μm or 4μm, etc. In this example, by setting the distance b1 between the orthographic projection of the inner peripheral surface P2 on the reference surface M and the orthographic projection of the light-emitting portion 104 on the reference surface M to be in the range of 0μm-4μm, the large-angle light emitted by the light-emitting portion 104 can be effectively gathered, thereby improving the light extraction efficiency.

[0085] For example, the thickness b2 of the second lens 402 is in the range of 1 μm to 4 μm. This configuration is conducive to ensuring that the second lens 402 has a good light-collecting effect.

[0086] Illustratively, along the light-emitting direction of the light-emitting portion 104, the inner peripheral surface P2 gradually moves away from the central axis of the second lens 402. The acute angle m2 between the tangent plane of the inner peripheral surface P2 and the reference plane M ranges from 30° to 90°. For example, the acute angle m2 between the tangent plane of the inner peripheral surface P2 and the reference plane M can be 30°, 40°, 50°, 60°, 70°, 80°, or 90°. The reference plane M is parallel to the light-emitting portion 104.

[0087] In this example, the inner surface P2 can be an oblique plane or an oblique curved surface. The acute angle m2 between the tangent plane of the inner surface P2 and the reference surface M ranges from 30° to 90°, which can effectively adjust the reflection angle of light incident on the inner surface P2, thereby effectively focusing light at large angles at the edges.

[0088] For example, in the embodiment of FIG9 , the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer 20C is higher than that of the second lens 402. For example, the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer 20C may be 1.6-1.8. In this example, because the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer 20C is higher than that of the second lens 402, light from the second lens 402 is less likely to pass through the transparent insulating layer 20C and be emitted toward the light shielding portion 301. This helps increase the amount of light emitted from the area directly facing the light-emitting portion 104, thereby improving display brightness.

[0089] For example, in the embodiment of FIG9 , the refractive index of the transparent insulating layer 20C can be equal to or substantially equal to the refractive index of the second inorganic layer 109. For example, the difference in refractive index between the two can be less than 0.1. This configuration further increases the amount of light emitted from the area directly facing the light-emitting portion 104, thereby improving display brightness.

[0090] For example, the thickness of the transparent insulating layer 20C may be 2 μm to 5 μm. This configuration can effectively cover the lens layer 400 and form a flat surface.

[0091] In some embodiments, the refractive index of the lens layer 400 is in the range of 1.6-1.8. This configuration enables the multiple lenses 40A in the lens layer 400 to be high-refractive lenses, which is beneficial for improving light extraction efficiency.

[0092] In some embodiments, referring to Figures 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 and 9, the substrate 100 includes an encapsulation layer 110, and the encapsulation layer 110 includes a first inorganic layer 107, an organic layer 108 and a second inorganic layer 109 that are sequentially away from the light-emitting portion 104, and the refractive index of the second inorganic layer 109 is greater than the refractive index of the lens 40A.

[0093] In this embodiment, since the refractive index of the second inorganic layer 109 is greater than the refractive index of the lens 40A, the light emitted from the second inorganic layer 109 to the lens 40A will not be totally reflected, which is beneficial to further improve the light extraction efficiency.

[0094] Figure 10 is a structural diagram of the first simulation device (A) provided in an embodiment of the present application, Figure 11 is a structural diagram of the second simulation device (B) provided in an embodiment of the present application, and Figure 12 is a structural diagram of the third simulation device (C) provided in an embodiment of the present application. Figure 13 is a data graph showing the reflectivity index and power consumption benefits at different lens layer thicknesses. Table 1 is a comparison table of the first simulation device (A), the second simulation device (B), and the third simulation device (C).

[0095] Table 1

[0096] The embodiment shown in Figure 10 has only one low-folding layer, equivalent to a conventional display panel 1 with a COE structure. The embodiment shown in Figure 11 further incorporates a high-folding layer, forming a ring-shaped low-folding lens, equivalent to the structure shown in Figure 7. The embodiment shown in Figure 12 employs a high-folding lens plus a low-folding layer, equivalent to the structure shown in Figure 8. SCI (Specular Component Include) refers to a color measurement method that includes specular reflected light. Furthermore, Table 1 shows that the SCI reflectivity of the third analog device (C) increases by 0.13% compared to the first analog device (A); the SCI reflectivity of the second analog device (B) increases by 0.86% compared to the first analog device (A). In other words, the reflectivity of the third analog device (C) decreases by 0.73% compared to the second analog device (B). As shown in Figure 13, every 0.1% reflectivity corresponds to a 2.1% power consumption benefit. Therefore, a 0.73% reduction in reflectivity results in a 15.33% power consumption benefit.

[0097] From the above analysis, it can be seen that the solution including the first lens 401 provided in the embodiment of the present application has lower reflectivity and smaller impact on power consumption and benefits compared to the solution including the low-refractive lens 112, thereby improving the light extraction efficiency.

[0098] Table 2

[0099] As shown in Table 2, the display panel in Figure 8 reduces at least two masks compared to the display panel in Figure 7, improving light attenuation at wide angles of 30° and reducing SCI reflectivity. Furthermore, it has a certain effect on JNCD (Just Color Design Degree), a measure of screen color accuracy. The smaller the JNCD value, the more accurate the screen's color display.
