Abstract
Description
Hinge assembly and foldable electronic device
[0001] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the China Patent Office on September 20, 2023, with application number 202311223572.1 and application name “Hinge assembly and foldable electronic device”. The entire contents of the above application are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field
[0002] The present application relates to the field of electronic devices, and in particular to a hinge assembly and a foldable electronic device. Background Art
[0003] Foldable electronic devices (e.g., foldable screen phones) can switch between unfolded and folded states, combining portability with large-screen displays and are becoming increasingly popular. These devices achieve folding and unfolding through a hinge assembly, which includes a hinge bracket, a main swing arm, and a damping component.
[0004] As foldable electronic devices become thinner and lighter, the hinge assembly also needs to be thinner and lighter. However, how to ensure the reliability of the hinge assembly while making it thinner and lighter is a difficult problem that needs to be overcome.
[0005] Summary of the Invention
[0006] In view of this, the present application provides a hinge assembly for solving the problem that current hinge assemblies are light and thin but cannot meet the requirements of strength and reliability.
[0007] Some embodiments of the present application provide a rotating shaft assembly. The present application is introduced below from multiple aspects, wherein the embodiments and beneficial effects of the multiple aspects can be referenced to each other.
[0008] In a first aspect, the present application provides a hinge assembly for use in a foldable electronic device, the hinge assembly comprising:
[0009] An integrally formed pivot bracket extends from the first end of the foldable device along a first direction to the second end of the foldable device, and the middle part of the pivot bracket has a first interval section for the flexible circuit board to pass through; at least four groups of main swing arms, each group of main swing arms includes two main swing arms symmetrically arranged on both sides of the pivot bracket, and each main swing arm is rotatably connected to the pivot bracket; four groups of main swing arms among the at least four groups of main swing arms are respectively arranged at the first end, the second end and both sides of the first interval section of the pivot bracket.
[0010] According to the embodiment of the present application, the hinge assembly adopts an integrally formed hinge bracket, and main swing arms are connected at both ends of the hinge bracket and at both ends of the flexible circuit board, which can improve the overall strength of the hinge assembly.
[0011] As an embodiment of the first aspect, the rotating shaft support includes:
[0012] The bracket body is in the shape of an elongated strip extending along a first direction, and the length of the bracket body along the first direction is the length of the rotating shaft bracket along the first direction;
[0013] The support portion is symmetrically arranged on the support body with the support body as the axis, and a slide groove is provided at the installation position of the support portion corresponding to the main swing arm, and the first arc-shaped sliding surface of the slide groove matches the second arc-shaped sliding surface of the main swing arm;
[0014] The installation position of the support portion is configured as three sections arranged at intervals, namely a left section, a middle section and a right section, and the slide grooves are respectively arranged on the left section, the middle section and the right section.
[0015] The use of an integrated distributed chute reduces the manufacturing tolerances of multiple components and improves the installation accuracy of the main swing arm and the shaft bracket. In addition, since it is a single component installation, it can reduce installation time and improve production efficiency.
[0016] As an embodiment of the first aspect, the slide grooves of the left and right segments are provided on the lower surface of the support portion, and the slide groove of the middle segment is provided on the upper surface of the support portion. The slide grooves on the left, middle, and right segments are coaxial, ensuring that the main swing arm can rotate along the axis after engaging with the slide grooves.
[0017] As an embodiment of the first aspect, the slide grooves of the left and right segments are provided on the upper surface of the support portion, while the slide groove of the middle segment is provided on the lower surface of the support portion. The slide grooves on the left, middle, and right segments are coaxial. This structure, as another embodiment, ensures that the main swing arm can rotate along the axis after engaging with the slide grooves.
[0018] As an embodiment of the first aspect, the rotating shaft assembly further includes: a plurality of damping assemblies, the plurality of damping assemblies being arranged in sections of the rotating shaft bracket other than the first section. The damping assemblies include: a spring mechanism, the spring mechanism being mounted on the rotating shaft bracket, the first rotating shaft of the spring mechanism being arranged along a first direction; a gear mechanism, the gear mechanism being mounted on the rotating shaft bracket, the second rotating shaft of the gear mechanism being arranged along the first direction, and the first rotating shaft and the second rotating shaft being rotating shafts with different axes; and two auxiliary swing arms, the two auxiliary swing arms being symmetrically arranged about the rotating shaft bracket and rotatably connected to the rotating shaft bracket, the first side of the auxiliary swing arm being meshed with a gear of the gear mechanism, and the other side being abutted with the spring mechanism via a cam and cam structure, such that when the auxiliary swing arm rotates, the compressive force of the spring of the spring mechanism is increased or decreased. By using the relative rotation of the cam and cam, the friction between the contact surfaces of the cam and cam can be adjusted, thereby adjusting the different rotation feel of the housing provided to the user during rotation, thereby improving the user experience.
[0019] As an embodiment of the first aspect, a convex-concave wheel is provided on one side of the secondary swing arm; a concave cam is provided on one side of the spring mechanism corresponding to the convex-concave wheel, and the convex-concave wheel and the concave cam rotate about a first rotating axis. When the convex-concave wheel and the concave cam rotate about the first rotating axis to an engaged state, the raised portion of the convex-concave wheel corresponds to the recessed portion of the concave cam, and the recessed portion of the convex-concave wheel corresponds to the raised portion of the concave cam. The convex-concave structure cooperates to change the compression force of the spring as the secondary swing arm rotates, providing a damping force for the rotation of the secondary swing arm, thereby providing a damping effect on the rotation function of the entire rotating shaft assembly, and improving the user's feel when rotating the foldable screen mobile phone.
[0020] As an embodiment of the first aspect, a first gear is provided on the auxiliary swing arm, and a gear mechanism includes a second gear. The first gear meshes with the second gear, and the first and second gears drive the auxiliary swing arms on both sides of the rotating shaft bracket to rotate synchronously. This structure is simple and can demonstrate the synchronous rotation of the two auxiliary swing arms.
[0021] As an embodiment of the first aspect, the second gear includes at least two, and the at least two second gears are meshed with each other.
[0022] As an embodiment of the first aspect, the shaft assembly further includes a connector rotatably connected to the at least two main swing arms and the at least one auxiliary swing arm. The connector, serving as a bridge connecting the two main swing arms, not only improves the coaxial rotation capability of the main swing arms, but also, due to the connection of the two main swing arms, improves the connector's drop resistance compared to a connection with a single main swing arm.
[0023] As an embodiment of the first aspect, two main swing arms rotatably connected to the connecting member are respectively located at both ends of the connecting member. This further improves the anti-drop performance of the connecting member.
[0024] As an embodiment of the first aspect, the rotating shaft assembly also includes: a door panel, which is laid on the main swing arm, the auxiliary swing arm and the connecting piece, and is respectively connected to the main swing arm, the auxiliary swing arm and the connecting piece. The overall linkage of the rotating shaft assembly can be improved, and at the same time, it can play a supporting role for the display screen, thereby improving the overall strength of the product. The door panel includes: a door panel body, which is rotatably connected to the connecting piece; a slide member, which is arranged on the door panel and has an arc-shaped surface formed on the surface, for assisting the door panel body to rotate relative to the connecting piece along the trajectory of the arc-shaped surface, and the door panel body and the slide member are integrally formed. The overall strength of the door panel and the strength of the kinematic pair can be ensured, while meeting the processing feasibility and processing accuracy of the product, which is not only conducive to thinning the entire machine, but also can ensure the overall strength of the product.
[0025] As an embodiment of the first aspect, a first overlapping surface is provided on the side of the door panel opposite the auxiliary swing arm; a second overlapping surface is provided on the side of the auxiliary swing arm opposite the door panel; when the auxiliary swing arm drives the door panel into a folded state and the door panel moves toward the auxiliary swing arm, the first overlapping surface abuts the second overlapping surface, and when the door panel returns to its pre-movement position, a gap is formed between the first overlapping surface and the second overlapping surface. This improves the auxiliary swing arm's ability to resist accidental falls without affecting normal use.
[0026] As an embodiment of the first aspect, there are multiple first overlapping surfaces and multiple second overlapping surfaces, and the multiple first overlapping surfaces correspond one to one with the multiple second overlapping surfaces, thereby further improving the anti-fall capability of the auxiliary swing arm.
[0027] As an embodiment of the first aspect, deployment stops are provided on both sides of one end of the intermediate section, proximate to the bracket body. When the main swing arm is in the deployed state, the deployment stops abut against the first abutment surface of the main swing arm to limit the deployment angle of the main swing arm. When the main swing arm is in the deployed state, the abutment surfaces of the deployment stops abut against the first abutment surface of the main swing arm, thereby limiting the deployment angle of the main swing arm and preventing an excessive deployment angle from affecting the levelness of the two display screens of the foldable phone after deployment.
[0028] As an embodiment of the first aspect, folding stops are provided on opposing sides of the left and right segments, respectively. The folding stops abut against the second abutting surface of the main swing arm when the main swing arm is in the folded state, thereby limiting the folding angle of the main swing arm, thereby preventing the folding angle from being too large and damaging the display screen.
[0029] As one embodiment of the first aspect, a curved slot is provided at the location where the auxiliary swing arm overlaps with the connector. When the auxiliary swing arm is folded, the end of the connector abuts against the sidewall of the curved slot. When the auxiliary swing arm rotates the connector, the end of the connector slides along the curved surface of the slot. Compared to a traditional straight-line design, this allows for a thicker auxiliary swing arm, and its increased strength increases the space available for display screen installation and enhances the overall shaft's drop resistance.
[0030] As an embodiment of the first aspect, six groups of main swing arms are provided, and increasing the number of main swing arms can improve the overall strength of the rotating shaft assembly.
[0031] As an embodiment of the first aspect, four groups of damping assemblies are provided, which can not only improve the overall strength of the rotating shaft assembly, but also cooperate with the main swing arm to improve the feel of opening and closing the device.
[0032] In the second aspect, the foldable electronic device includes: a first shell, a second shell and a hinge assembly, the first shell and the second shell are rotatably connected through the hinge assembly, and the hinge assembly is the hinge assembly explained in the above-mentioned embodiment of the first aspect. [0064] The following will clearly and completely describe the technical solutions in the embodiments of the present application in conjunction with the drawings in the embodiments of the present application.
[0065] The foldable electronic device according to the embodiment of the present application is described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0066] In the embodiments of this application, the foldable electronic device may be, but is not limited to, a foldable screen mobile phone. It may also be a tablet personal computer, an e-book reader, a laptop computer, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a personal computer, a notebook computer, an in-vehicle device, a wearable device (such as a watch), or other electronic devices that need to be opened and closed. In the following embodiments, the structure of the foldable electronic device is described using a foldable screen mobile phone as an example.
[0067] Please refer to Figure 1, which shows a schematic diagram of the process of the foldable screen mobile phone of an embodiment of the present application from the unfolded state to the folded state. Figure 1 (a) is a schematic diagram of the structure of the foldable screen mobile phone of an embodiment of the present application in the fully unfolded state; Figure 1 (b) is a schematic diagram of the structure of the foldable screen mobile phone of an embodiment of the present application switching from the unfolded state to the folded state; Figure 1 (c) is a schematic diagram of the structure of the foldable screen mobile phone of an embodiment of the present application in the folded state.
[0068] As shown in Figure 1, the foldable screen mobile phone 1000 includes a first shell 100, a second shell 200 and a hinge assembly 300 (also known as a hinge device). The first shell 100 and the second shell 200 are rotatably connected via the hinge assembly 300. In different usage states, the user can rotate the first shell 100 and the second shell 200 around the hinge assembly 300 to achieve different usage states of the foldable screen mobile phone 1000, namely, the unfolded state and the folded state. As shown in Figure 1 (a), when the first shell 100 rotates around the hinge assembly 300 to a zero angle, the foldable screen mobile phone 1000 is in a fully unfolded usage state (which can be understood as the unfolded state). As shown in Figure 1 (b), the first shell 100 rotates around the hinge assembly 300 toward the second shell 200. When the rotation angle reaches 180°, the foldable screen mobile phone 1000 is in a fully closed state (which can be understood as the folded state) as shown in Figure 1 (c).
[0069] It should be noted that the angles illustrated in this application are all allowed to have slight deviations. For example, when the foldable screen mobile phone 1000 is in the open state, its opening angle can be 180°, or it can be approximately 180°, such as 170°, 175°, 185°, or 190°. Within the angle range that differs from 180 degrees by a certain margin, the corresponding rotation angle can be understood as 170°, 175°, 185°, or 190°, etc. The angles illustrated in the examples below can be understood in the same way.
[0070] Those skilled in the art will understand that the present application does not limit the specific structure of the folding screen mobile phone 1000. For example, the folding screen mobile phone 1000 may also include various electronic components, which together with the first shell 100, the second shell 200 and the hinge assembly 300 constitute the folding screen mobile phone 1000. The first shell 100, the second shell 200 and the hinge assembly 300 provide protection and support for various electronic components and other structures. In order to facilitate the understanding of the folding process and usage scenarios of the folding screen mobile phone 1000, the structure that may be adopted is exemplified below. In addition, in the embodiment of the present application, the folding screen mobile phone can be an inward folding screen mobile phone, that is, when the folding screen mobile phone is in the folded state, the display screen is retracted between the two shells.
[0071] As shown in FIG1 , in one embodiment, the foldable screen mobile phone 1000 further includes a display screen, which is arranged on one side of the housing assembly consisting of the first housing 100, the second housing 200, and the hinge assembly 300. A portion of the display screen mounted on the first housing 100 may be referred to as the first screen 110, and a portion of the display screen mounted on the second housing 200 may be referred to as the second screen 210, wherein the first screen 110 and the second screen 210 may be a single screen. As shown in FIG1 (b), driven by the hinge assembly 300, the first screen 110 rotates around the hinge assembly 300 along with the first housing 100 to achieve an expanded state or a folded state with the second screen 210 on the second housing 200. In the embodiments of the present application, the display screen may be, but is not limited to, an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display screen, an active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display screen, or a quantum dot light-emitting diode (QLED) display screen, etc., and the present application does not impose any restrictions on this.
[0072] In one embodiment, both the first housing 100 and the second housing 200 have spaces therein for accommodating some electronic components, including but not limited to circuit boards, batteries, camera modules, microphones, speakers, etc., which are not limited in this application.
[0073] In the following embodiments, the shaft assembly 300 of the embodiment of the present application will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0074] In the various figures herein, the x-direction is the length direction of the unfolded foldable screen mobile phone and its components (e.g., the display screen), the y-direction is the width direction of the unfolded foldable screen mobile phone and its components, and the z-direction is the thickness direction of the foldable screen mobile phone and its components. The first direction mentioned in the embodiments of this application may be the y-axis direction, and the second direction may be the z-axis direction.
[0075] Please refer to Figures 2 and 3. Figure 2 shows a top view of the shaft assembly of an embodiment of the present application in an expanded state; Figure 3 shows a bottom view of the shaft assembly of an embodiment of the present application in an expanded state.
[0076] As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the hinge assembly 300 includes a hinge bracket 310 and six groups of main swing arms 320. Among them, the six groups of main swing arms are used to drive the two middle frames of the folding screen mobile phone (such as the first shell 100 and the second shell 200 in Figure 1) to rotate around the hinge bracket 310. The hinge bracket 310 extends along a first direction of the folding screen mobile phone. The hinge bracket 310 extends from the first end 313 of the folding screen mobile phone (the left end in Figure 2) along the first direction to the second end 314 of the folding screen mobile phone (the right end in Figure 2). Among them, the first end 313 is the leftmost end of the folding screen mobile phone, and the second end 314 is the rightmost end of the folding screen mobile phone.
[0077] The hinge bracket 310 can be divided into multiple sections along the first direction. As shown in Figure 2, a first section 311 is provided in the middle portion of the hinge bracket 310. The first section 311 can be used to lay a flexible printed circuit (FPC) (not shown). The flexible printed circuit acts as a conductor to connect the two circuit boards of the foldable screen mobile phone. It should be noted that the specific structure of the flexible printed circuit board and the connection method with the two circuit boards can refer to the existing technology and will not be described in detail in the embodiments of this application.
[0078] In the embodiment of the present application, the rotating shaft bracket is integrally formed. The integrally formed structure can reduce the tolerance and stress of the part connection and improve the overall strength of the rotating shaft bracket.
[0079] As shown in FIG2 or FIG3, six groups of main swing arms 320 are arranged relatively evenly along the first direction on the rotating shaft bracket 310. By arranging a larger number of main swing arms 320, the strength of the rotating shaft assembly 300 can be effectively improved. In some embodiments of the present application, the number of groups of main swing arms 320 can be greater than six groups, such as seven groups or eight groups. Alternatively, the number of groups of main swing arms 320 can be less than six groups, such as four groups or five groups. It should be noted that the spacing between each group of main swing arms 320 may not be equal, that is, the uniformity described in the embodiments of the present application is relative, and there may be unequal spacing. For example, because the first section 311 of the rotating shaft bracket 310 separates the main swing arms 320 at both ends at a larger distance than the other main swing arms 320 on the same side on the second section 312, the uniformity at this time is not absolute uniformity.
[0080] As shown in FIG2 or FIG3 , when the phone is in the unfolded state, each set of main swing arms 320 may include two main swing arms 320 symmetrically disposed on either side of the hinge bracket 310 along a second direction (referring to the x-axis direction of the phone in the unfolded state shown in FIG1( a )). Each main swing arm 320 is rotatably connected to the hinge bracket 310.
[0081] In the embodiment of the present application, the second direction can be understood as a direction perpendicular to the axis of the shaft assembly, that is, perpendicular to the first direction. The perpendicularity here is not absolute, but can also be an approximate perpendicularity caused by processing errors and assembly errors.
[0082] Of the six sets of main swing arms 320, four are located at the first end 313 of the hinge bracket 310, the second end 314 of the hinge bracket 310, and on both sides of the first section 311 along the first direction. Specifically, one set of main swing arms 320 is located at each of the two ends closest to the edge of the hinge bracket 310. The other two sets of main swing arms 320 can be located in the second section for overall layout uniformity, such as the second section 312 to the left of the first section 311 in Figure 2. When a foldable phone is in the folded state (see the folded state shown in Figure 1(c)), the first end 313 and the second end 314 of the hinge bracket 310 coincide with the corners of the phone. In the event of a fall, the corners of the phone hit the ground first and are the most vulnerable to damage. Therefore, the placement of main swing arms 320 near the first end 313 and the second end 314 further supports the hinge bracket 310 and improves its overall strength. In addition, as shown in Figure 2, a group of main swing arms 320 are provided on both sides of the section of the pivot bracket 310 used for laying the flexible circuit board (corresponding to the first interval section 311), which can enhance the strength of the pivot bracket 310 on both sides of the flexible circuit board, which is conducive to better protection of the flexible circuit board.
[0083] In some embodiments, the spacing between each set of main swing arms and the number of main swing arms can be adjusted based on the length of the rotating shaft bracket 310 .
[0084] Referring to Figure 4 , a top view of a pivot bracket according to an embodiment of the present application is shown. As shown in Figure 4 , pivot bracket 310 includes a bracket body 315 and a support portion 316. Bracket body 315 is an elongated strip extending along a first direction. The length of bracket body 315 along the first direction corresponds to the length of pivot bracket 310 along the first direction. Support portion 316 is symmetrically disposed on bracket body 315 about its axis.
[0085] In one embodiment of the present application, a slot can be provided at the connection location on the support portion 316 corresponding to the main swing arm. This slot has a curved sliding surface that matches the curved sliding surface provided on the main swing arm 320, with the two curved sliding surfaces abutting each other. This connection facilitates the main swing arm's sliding along the curvature of the curved sliding surface, facilitating control of the main swing arm's sliding angle.
[0086] In one embodiment of the present application, as shown in FIG4 , the support portion 316 is configured into multiple segments with spaces between them for connection to other components, such as the main swing arm and the damping assembly. For example, using connection to the main swing arm (corresponding to main swing arm 320 in FIG2 ) as an example, these spaces are used to accommodate a portion of the main swing arm, thereby achieving a rotatable connection between the main swing arm and the pivot bracket 310. The specific structure of the support portion will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0087] 5 and 6 , FIG5 shows a schematic diagram of a partial structure of the rotating shaft bracket according to an embodiment of the present application; FIG6 shows a schematic diagram of the three-dimensional structure of the main swing arm according to an embodiment of the present application.
[0088] As shown in FIG5 , the mounting position 317 on the pivot bracket 310 for connecting or mounting the main swing arm 320 is divided into a left section a (corresponding to the left side of FIG5 ), a middle section b, and a right section c (corresponding to the right side of FIG5 ). Slide grooves are provided on the left section a, the middle section b, and the right section c, respectively. The slide groove on the left section a corresponds to a first slide groove a1, the slide groove on the right section c is a second slide groove c1, and the slide groove on the middle section b is a third slide groove b1. The first slide groove a1, the second slide groove c1, and the third slide groove b1 constitute a distributed slide groove.
[0089] As shown in Figure 6, a slide groove is also formed at one end of the main swing arm 320 that is connected to the rotating shaft bracket (corresponding to the rotating shaft bracket 310 in Figure 5), and the slide groove is also divided into three sections. Among them, the arc-shaped sliding surface corresponding to the slide groove on the main swing arm 320 matches the arc-shaped sliding surface corresponding to the slide groove on the support portion 316, which facilitates the sliding and rotating connection between the main swing arm 320 and the rotating shaft bracket. Compared with the traditional multi-component connection method of rotating with the swing arm, this one-piece distributed slide groove design can reduce the manufacturing tolerance dimensions of multiple parts and improve the installation accuracy of the main swing arm 320 and the rotating shaft bracket. In addition, since it is a single component installation, it can reduce installation time and improve production efficiency.
[0090] In the embodiments described in Figures 5 and 6 above, the left segment a and the right segment c are respectively provided on the lower surface (such as the corresponding surfaces below the left segment a and the right segment c in Figure 5), and the chute of the middle segment b is provided on the upper surface (such as the corresponding surface above the middle segment b in Figure 5), for the purpose of explanation. In some embodiments, the chute on the left segment a and the right segment c can be provided on their upper surfaces, and the chute on the middle segment b can be provided on the lower surface. Alternatively, the chute of the left segment a is located on the upper surface, and the chute on the middle segment b and the right segment c is provided on the lower surface. Alternatively, the chute on the left segment a and the middle segment b is provided on the lower surface, and the chute on the right segment c is provided on the upper surface, etc. In the embodiments of the present application, there is no sole limitation on how the chute is provided on different segments.
[0091] In one embodiment of the present application, as shown in Figure 5 , the first curved sliding surface a11 corresponding to the first chute a1 is disposed on the lower surface of the left segment a of the support portion 316, the first curved sliding surface a11 corresponding to the third chute b1 is disposed on the lower surface of the right segment c of the support portion 316, and the first curved sliding surface a11 corresponding to the second chute c1 is disposed on the upper surface of the middle segment b of the support portion 316. The axes of the chute on the left segment a, the chute on the middle segment b, and the chute on the right segment c, or the corresponding curved sliding surfaces of these chute slots, coincide. Accordingly, as shown in Figures 5 and 6 , the chute slots of the main swing arm 320 are divided into a fourth chute 321, a fifth chute 322, and a sixth chute 323 between them. The fourth chute 321 corresponds to the first chute a1, the fifth chute 322 corresponds to the second chute c1, and the sixth chute 323 corresponds to the third chute b1. Specifically, the second curved sliding surface 324 corresponding to the fourth chute 321 matches the first curved sliding surface a11 corresponding to the first chute a1, the second curved sliding surface 324 corresponding to the fifth chute 322 matches the first curved sliding surface a11 corresponding to the second chute c1, and the second curved sliding surface 324 corresponding to the sixth chute 323 matches the first curved sliding surface a11 corresponding to the third chute b1. This integrated distributed chute connection structure reduces component manufacturing tolerances and strengthens the connection between the pivot bracket 310 and the main swing arm 320 by alternating the upper and lower surfaces of the chute.
[0092] Referring back to FIG. 2 , the hinge assembly 300 further includes four groups of damping assemblies 330 , which are arranged in the second section 312 of the hinge bracket 310 . The second section 312 is the section of the hinge bracket 310 other than the first section 311 . The damping assembly 330 is used to assist the main swing arm 320 in driving the first shell and the second shell (corresponding to the first shell 100 and the second shell 200 in FIG. 1 ) to rotate relative to each other, thereby achieving synchronous rotation of the first shell and the second shell. The damping assembly can provide rotational resistance to the main swing arm, thereby improving the feel of the mobile phone as the angle changes continuously during folding and unfolding. In some embodiments of the present application, the number of damping assemblies 330 can be greater than four groups, for example, five, six, or more, or less. The specific structure and working principle of the damping assembly 330 are described below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
[0093] 7 and 8 , FIG7 shows a schematic structural diagram of a damping assembly according to an embodiment of the present application; FIG8 shows an exploded view of the damping assembly according to an embodiment of the present application.
[0094] As shown in Figures 7 and 8, the damping assembly 330 may include a spring mechanism 331, a gear mechanism 332, and two auxiliary swing arms 333. The spring mechanism 331 is mounted on a rotating shaft bracket (corresponding to the rotating shaft bracket 310 in Figure 4), with a first rotating shaft 331a of the spring mechanism 331 arranged along a first direction. The gear mechanism 332 is mounted on a rotating shaft bracket (corresponding to the rotating shaft bracket 310 in Figure 2), with a second rotating shaft 332d of the gear mechanism 332 arranged along the first direction. The two auxiliary swing arms 333 are symmetrically arranged about the rotating shaft bracket and are rotatably connected to the rotating shaft bracket.
[0095] In an embodiment of the present application, the main swing arm and the damping assembly 330 are alternately arranged on the pivot bracket 310, that is, the main swing arm and the auxiliary swing arm 333 are alternately arranged on the pivot bracket 310, so that when switching between the unfolded and folded states, the main swing arm on the pivot assembly is subjected to more uniform force, and the damping force in the first direction is more uniform.
[0096] First, let's describe the principle by which the damping assembly 330 drives the auxiliary swing arms 333 on both sides of the rotating shaft bracket to rotate synchronously. As shown in Figures 7 and 8, a first gear 333a is provided on a first side of the auxiliary swing arm 333. The gear mechanism 332 includes a second gear 332a, with the first gear 333a meshing with the second gear 332a. A convex-concave wheel 333b is formed on the other side (connecting shaft) of the auxiliary swing arm 333. A concave cam 331b is formed on the end of the spring mechanism 331 that abuts the auxiliary swing arm 333. The auxiliary swing arm 333 and the spring mechanism 331 are in contact with each other through the structure of the convex-concave wheel 333b and the concave cam 331b. As shown in Figures 7 and 8, both the convex-concave wheel 333b and the concave cam 331b include sawtooth-like recesses and protrusions, forming an undulating sawtooth-like structure. The two wheels are meshed and connected. When the auxiliary swing arm 333 rotates, the concave cam 331b and the convex-concave wheel 333b can rotate relative to each other around the same axis. This relative rotation of the concave cam 331b and the convex-concave wheel 333b can further drive the relative rotation between the first and second shells of the foldable screen phone (corresponding to the first and second shells 100 and 200 in Figure 1). This can help the foldable screen phone rotate simultaneously in both the unfolded and folded states, improving the feel of automatic opening and closing.
[0097] Next, the process of damping assembly 330 providing damping force to the main swing arm (main swing arm 320 in Figure 3) will be described. As shown in Figures 7 and 8, the contacting end surfaces of the concave cam 331b and the convex-concave wheel 333b are both configured with an uneven structure, resembling an irregular gear. When the convex-concave wheel 333b and the concave cam 331b are fully engaged, the concave portion of the convex-concave wheel 333b corresponds to the convex portion of the concave cam 331b, and the convex portion of the convex-concave wheel 333b corresponds to the concave portion of the concave cam 331b. The following example illustrates a case where the convex-concave wheel 333b has multiple outwardly protruding protrusions 333b1 and the concave cam 331b has multiple inwardly recessed recesses 331b1. As shown in Figure 7, when the auxiliary swing arm 333 rotates, the protrusions 333b1 of the convex-concave wheel 333b rotate and slide along the sidewalls of the recesses 331b1 of the concave cam 331b. When the raised portion 333b1 of the cam 333b moves along the bottom of the recessed portion 331b1 of the concave wheel 331b toward the opening of the recessed portion 331b1, the two wheels squeeze each other, effectively applying axial pressure to the spring mechanism 331 (corresponding to an axial force applied in the first direction in FIG7 ). Accordingly, the spring mechanism 331 applies axial pressure in the opposite direction to the auxiliary swing arm 333, increasing the friction between the two. At this point, the compression of the spring mechanism 331 hinders the rotation of the auxiliary swing arm 333. This force is transmitted to the main swing arm through the connector and other components, effectively applying a rotational force to the main swing arm from the spring mechanism 331 (which can also be understood as the damping force provided by the damping assembly 330 formed by the spring mechanism 331 and the auxiliary swing arm 333). This damping assembly 330 thus dampens the rotation of the main swing arm. Conversely, when the raised portion 333b1 of the cam 333b rotates relative to the opening of the concave wheel 331b toward the bottom of the concave portion 331b1, the axial pressure gradually decreases, the secondary swing arm 333 rotates more smoothly, and thus the main swing arm also rotates more smoothly. Thus, the relative rotation of the convex-concave wheel 333b and the concave cam 331b can adjust the friction between the contact surfaces of the convex-concave wheel 333b and the concave cam 331b. In other words, the rotation of the two wheels can adjust the magnitude of the damping force, thereby adjusting the different rotation feel of the housing during rotation, thereby improving the user experience.
[0098] In one embodiment of the present application, the first rotating shaft 331a of the gear mechanism 332 and the second rotating shaft 332d of the spring mechanism 331 are coaxial. As shown in Figure 8, the spring mechanism 331 may include four springs 331c, and a first fixing member 331d and a second fixing member 331e for securing the springs 331c. Each spring 331c corresponds to a first rotating shaft 331a and is respectively restrained between a first fixing seat 331d and a second fixing seat 331e. The gear mechanism 332 may include two second gears 332a, and a third fixing seat 332b and a fourth fixing seat 332c for securing the second gears 332a. Each second gear 332a corresponds to a second rotating shaft 332d and is rotatably disposed between the third fixing seat 332b and the fourth fixing seat 332c via the second rotating shaft 332d. In this embodiment of the present application, the first rotating shaft 331a and the second rotating shaft 332d are separate and not coaxial. In other words, the spring mechanism 331 and the gear mechanism 332 are two completely independent components. Compared with the existing coaxial arrangement, that is, the axis of the gear and the spring mechanism are the same axis, the gear mechanism 332 and the spring mechanism 331 of the embodiment of the present application are decoupled and no longer depend on each other. Both ends of the gear in the gear mechanism 332 can be fixed independently and are no longer disturbed by the rotational force of the spring mechanism 331, which can ensure the synchronization accuracy of the two gears. And for the spring mechanism 331, the spring mechanism 331 is no longer limited by the number of gears, so a larger number of springs 331c and springs 331c of different sizes can be set, which is conducive to the output of a larger spring 331c force and improves the flexibility of the damping force. In addition, there is no limitation of the coaxiality of the gears and springs, which makes processing easier.
[0099] In the embodiment of the present application, to ensure the coaxial arrangement of the auxiliary swing arm 333 and the spring mechanism 331, two first rotating shafts 331a adjacent to the two auxiliary swing arms 333 (e.g., the two auxiliary swing arms 333 above and below the first rotating shaft 331a in FIG8 ) are connected at one end to the second fixing seat 331e, and their other ends are respectively capable of passing through the spring 331c, the first fixing seat 331d, the axial hole of the auxiliary swing arm 333, and the fourth fixing seat 332c, and finally fixed to the third fixing seat 332b. This improves the overall connection security of the damping assembly 330 and simultaneously maintains the synchronization of the axial forces on the left and right sides when the auxiliary swing arm 333 and the spring mechanism 331 rotate coaxially.
[0100] It should be noted that the above embodiment is described based on an example in which the number of springs 331c is 4 and the number of gears is 2. In other embodiments, the number of springs 331c may be more or less, for example, 3 or 5; the number of gears may be more or less, for example, 1 or 3. This is not the only limitation in the embodiments of the present application.
[0101] As shown again in FIG2 , the shaft assembly 300 further includes a connector 334, which is rotatably connected to at least two main swing arms and at least one auxiliary swing arm 333. In one embodiment of the present application, the connector 334 is also slidably connected to the main swing arm and the auxiliary swing arm 333. Through the connection of the connector 334, the synchronization of the main swing arm and the auxiliary swing arm 333 during rotation can be ensured. In addition, one connector 334 simultaneously connects at least two main swing arms 320. For the two main swing arms 320, the connector 334 serves as a bridge connecting the two main swing arms, which not only improves the coaxial rotation capability between the main swing arms 320, but also improves the anti-fall capability of the connector 334 compared to the connection method of a single main swing arm due to the connection of the two main swing arms 320.
[0102] As shown in Figure 2, the two main swing arms 320 are respectively connected to the two ends of the connecting member 334, which greatly improves the protection capability of the ends of the connecting member 334 and further improves the anti-drop performance of the connecting member 334. Combined with the layout structure of the above-mentioned main swing arms 320 on the entire rotating shaft bracket, the overall strength and firmness of the rotating shaft assembly can be greatly improved, thereby improving the overall anti-drop capability of the rotating shaft assembly.
[0103] It should be noted that, regarding the connection structure between the connecting member 334 and the main swing arm 320 and the auxiliary swing arm 333, reference can be made to the description of the prior art, and no detailed description will be given in the embodiments of this application.
[0104] Referring to Figure 9 , a schematic diagram of the door panel structure of an embodiment of the present application is shown. As shown in Figure 9 , the hinge assembly further includes a door panel 335. Door panel 335 is attached to and connected to the main swing arm (corresponding to main swing arm 320 in Figure 2 ), the auxiliary swing arm (corresponding to auxiliary swing arm 333 in Figure 2 ), and the connector (corresponding to connector 334 in Figure 2 ). This improves the overall linkage of the hinge assembly, while also providing support for the display screen and enhancing the overall strength of the product.
[0105] As shown in Figure 9, the door panel 335 includes a door panel body 3351 and a slide member. The door panel body 3351 is rotatably connected to a connector (corresponding to connector 334 in Figure 2). The slide member is provided on the door panel 335 and has a curved surface formed on its surface, which assists the door panel body 3351 in rotating relative to the connector along the trajectory of the curved surface.
[0106] In an embodiment of the present application, as shown in FIG9 , the slide member may include a first auxiliary slide member 3352 and a second slide member 3353. The first slide member 3352 is used to achieve a sliding connection between the door panel 335 and the connecting member. The second slide member 3353 is used to achieve a sliding connection between the door panel 335 and the main swing arm. It should be noted that the principles of the connection between the door panel 335 and the connecting member, the main swing arm, and the auxiliary swing arm can be referred to in the prior art and will not be described in detail here.
[0107] In some embodiments, the door panel body 3351 is integrally formed with the first slide member 3352 and the second slide member 3353. For example, the door panel body 3351 and the second slide member 3353 can be injection molded using a high-strength material in a single step, and then the first slide member 3352, the second slide member 3353 and the door panel body 3351 can be integrally formed using a secondary in-mold insert injection molding process. This ensures the overall strength of the door panel 335 and the strength of the kinematic joint, while also meeting the processing feasibility and processing accuracy of the product, which not only facilitates the reduction of the overall thickness of the device but also ensures the overall strength of the product.
[0108] 10 and 11 , FIG10 shows a schematic diagram of a partial structure of the rotating shaft assembly of an embodiment of the present application when in a folded state; FIG11 shows a cross-sectional structure diagram along the AA direction in FIG10 .
[0109] As shown in Figures 10 and 11, the door panel 335 has a first overlapping surface 3354 on the side opposite the auxiliary swing arm 333. The auxiliary swing arm 333 has a second overlapping surface 3331 on the side opposite the door panel 335. When the auxiliary swing arm 333 drives the door panel 335 in the folded state shown in Figures 10 and 11, if the door panel 335 moves toward the auxiliary swing arm 333 (from top to bottom as shown in Figure 11), the first overlapping surface 3354 abuts the second overlapping surface 3331, thereby preventing the door panel 335 from sliding further downward. For example, if a foldable screen phone falls, the corner of the hinge assembly will contact the ground and be subjected to force, while the main body of the foldable screen phone will continue to move downward due to inertia. The cooperation between the first overlapping surface 3354 and the second overlapping surface 3331 can prevent the door panel 335 from moving too far downward. This prevents the door panel 335 from moving too far and damaging the components connected to it, such as the display screen, the main swing arm, and the auxiliary swing arm 333. When the door panel 335 is restored to its original position, a gap is formed between the first overlapping surface 3354 and the second overlapping surface 3331, ensuring normal sliding between the door panel 335 and the auxiliary swing arm 333 during normal use. This improves the anti-fall capability of the auxiliary swing arm 333 in the event of an accidental fall without affecting normal use.
[0110] In some embodiments of the present application, multiple first overlapping surfaces 3354 may be provided to form a stepped shape, and multiple second overlapping surfaces 3331 may also be provided to form a stepped shape, with multiple first overlapping surfaces 3354 corresponding to multiple second overlapping surfaces 3331. This further improves the anti-drop capability of the auxiliary swing arm 333.
[0111] Referring to Figures 12, 13 and 14, Figure 12 shows a schematic diagram of the local structure of the rotating shaft assembly of an embodiment of the present application when it is in an expanded state; Figure 13 shows a cross-sectional structure diagram in the BB direction in Figure 12; Figure 14 shows a schematic diagram of the structure of the main swing arm at another angle of an embodiment of the present application.
[0112] As shown in Figures 12 and 13, the middle section of the support portion of the hinge bracket 310 (corresponding to middle section b in Figure 5) is provided with deployment stops e on both sides near one end of the bracket body. As shown in Figures 13 and 14, the end of the main swing arm 320 facing the deployment stop e is provided with a first abutment surface 325. When the main swing arm 320 is in the deployed state, the abutment surface of the deployment stop e abuts the first abutment surface 325 of the main swing arm 320, thereby limiting the deployment angle of the main swing arm 320 and preventing it from being too large, which would affect the levelness of the two displays of the foldable screen phone after deployment.
[0113] In combination with Figure 14, and with reference to Figures 15 and 16, Figure 15 shows a structural schematic diagram of the shaft assembly of an embodiment of the present application when it is in a folded state; Figure 16 is a cross-sectional structural diagram along the CC direction in Figure 15.
[0114] As shown in Figures 14, 15, and 16, folding stops f are provided on opposing sides of the left and right sections a and c of the support portion 316 of the hinge bracket. As shown in Figures 14 and 15, the ends of the main swing arm 320 connected to the left and right sections a and c are each provided with a second abutment surface 326. As shown in Figure 16, when the main swing arm 320 is folded, the second abutment surface 326 abuts against one end of the folding stop f, limiting the folding angle of the main swing arm 320 and preventing it from folding too far and potentially damaging the display screen.
[0115] 17 and 18 , FIG17 shows a schematic diagram of a partial structure of the rotating shaft assembly of an embodiment of the present application in a folded state; FIG18 is a cross-sectional structure diagram along the DD direction in FIG17 .
[0116] As shown in Figure 18, an arcuate slot 3332 is provided at the location where the auxiliary swing arm 333 overlaps with the connecting member 334. When the shaft assembly 300 is folded, that is, when the auxiliary swing arm 333 is in the folded state, the end of the connecting member 334 abuts against the side wall of the arcuate slot 3332. Thus, when the auxiliary swing arm 333 drives the connecting member 334 to rotate, the end of the connecting member 334 slides along the arcuate surface of the arcuate slot 3332. Compared to conventional linear sliding surfaces, this structure not only allows the connecting member 334 and the auxiliary swing arm 333 to slide, but also allows relative rotation. This structure allows the connecting member 334 to abut against the auxiliary swing arm 333 to limit the tilt angle of the auxiliary swing arm 333 when the connecting member 334 slides relative to the auxiliary swing arm 333, thereby limiting the rotation range of the auxiliary swing arm 333, for example, to less than 90°. Since the lower part of the arc-shaped slide groove 3332 (the bottom end of the arc-shaped slide groove 3332 in Figure 18) is retracted relative to the inside (the side facing the auxiliary swing arm 333 in Figure 18), compared with the traditional straight shape, it is beneficial to increase the thickness of the auxiliary swing arm 333 (the spacing in the left and right directions in Figure 18). The enhanced strength is beneficial to increasing the selection space for installing the display screen and can enhance the anti-drop ability of the entire axis.
[0117] In summary, the hinge assembly provided in the embodiment of the present application is more inclined to an integrated design, which can maintain the overall strength of the hinge assembly while being overall light and thin, thereby greatly improving the overall performance of the product and meeting customers' needs for lightness, thinness, strength and reliability.
[0118] It should be noted that in the described embodiments of the present application, perpendicularity to each other is not absolute perpendicularity, and approximate perpendicularity due to processing errors and assembly errors (for example, the angle between two structural features is 89.9°) is also within the range of perpendicularity in the present application. Parallelism to each other in the present application is not absolute parallelism, and approximate parallelism due to processing errors and assembly errors (for example, the angle between two structural features is 0.1°) is also within the range of parallelism in the present application. Axisymmetry in the present application is not absolute axisymmetry, and approximate axisymmetry due to processing errors and assembly errors (for example, part of the structure is offset by a certain distance or angle relative to the axis of symmetry) is also within the range of axisymmetry in the present application. Centrosymmetry in the present application is not absolute centrosymmetry, and approximate centrosymmetry due to processing errors and assembly errors (for example, part of the structure is offset by a certain distance or angle relative to the axis of symmetry) is also within the range of centrosymmetry in the present application. This application does not make specific restrictions on this.
