Abstract
Description
Method and device for transmitting a wake-up signal in a wireless communication system
[0001] The present disclosure relates to operations of a terminal and a base station in a wireless communication system, and more particularly, to a signal transmission and reception method and device for setting a trigger condition for a terminal to transmit a wake-up signal (hereinafter referred to as a WUS) and transmitting the WUS according to the trigger in order to wake up cells when a base station or a cell's transceiver enters a sleep mode in a Network Energy Saving (NES) system supporting power saving technology.
[0002] 5G mobile communication technology defines a wide frequency band to enable fast transmission speeds and new services, and can be implemented not only in the sub-6GHz frequency band such as 3.5 gigahertz (3.5GHz), but also in the ultra-high frequency band called millimeter wave (mmWave) such as 28GHz and 39GHz ('Above 6GHz'). In addition, for 6G mobile communication technology, which is called the system after 5G communication (Beyond 5G), implementation in the terahertz band (for example, the 3 terahertz (3THz) band at 95GHz) is being considered to achieve a transmission speed that is 50 times faster than 5G mobile communication technology and an ultra-low latency time that is reduced to one-tenth.
[0003] In the early stages of 5G mobile communication technology, the goal is to support services and satisfy performance requirements for enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB), Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communications (URLLC), and massive Machine-Type Communications (mMTC). These include beamforming and massive MIMO to mitigate path loss of radio waves in ultra-high frequency bands and increase the transmission distance of radio waves, support for various numerologies (such as operation of multiple subcarrier intervals) and dynamic operation of slot formats for efficient use of ultra-high frequency resources, initial access technology to support multi-beam transmission and wideband, definition and operation of BWP (Bidth Part), new channel coding methods such as LDPC (Low Density Parity Check) codes for large-capacity data transmission and Polar Code for reliable transmission of control information, and L2 pre-processing (L2). Standardization has been made for network slicing, which provides dedicated networks specialized for specific services, and pre-processing.
[0004] Currently, discussions are underway to improve and enhance the initial 5G mobile communication technology in consideration of the services that 5G mobile communication technology was intended to support, and physical layer standardization is in progress for technologies such as V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) to help autonomous vehicles make driving decisions and increase user convenience based on their own location and status information transmitted by vehicles, NR-U (New Radio Unlicensed) for the purpose of system operation that complies with various regulatory requirements in unlicensed bands, NR terminal low power consumption technology (UE Power Saving), Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN), which is direct terminal-satellite communication to secure coverage in areas where communication with terrestrial networks is impossible, and Positioning.
[0005] In addition, standardization of wireless interface architecture / protocols is in progress for technologies such as intelligent factories (Industrial Internet of Things, IIoT) to support new services through linkage and convergence with other industries, Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) that provides nodes for expanding network service areas by integrating wireless backhaul links and access links, Mobility Enhancement technology including Conditional Handover and Dual Active Protocol Stack (DAPS) handover, and 2-step random access (2-step RACH for NR) that simplifies random access procedures. Standardization is also in progress for system architecture / services such as 5G baseline architecture (e.g., Service-based Architecture, Service-based Interface) for grafting Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies, and Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) that provides services based on the location of the terminal.
[0006] Once these 5G mobile communication systems are commercialized, an explosive increase in connected devices will be connected to the communication network, necessitating enhanced functionality and performance of 5G mobile communication systems and integrated operation of these connected devices. To this end, new research will be conducted on improving 5G performance and reducing complexity, supporting AI services, supporting metaverse services, and drone communications by utilizing eXtended Reality (XR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) to efficiently support Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR).
[0007] In addition, the development of these 5G mobile communication systems includes new waveforms to ensure coverage in the terahertz band of 6G mobile communication technology, multi-antenna transmission technologies such as Full Dimensional MIMO (FD-MIMO), Array Antenna, and Large Scale Antenna, metamaterial-based lenses and antennas to improve the coverage of terahertz band signals, high-dimensional spatial multiplexing technology using Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM), Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) technology, as well as full duplex technology to improve the frequency efficiency and system network of 6G mobile communication technology, satellite, AI (Artificial Intelligence) from the design stage and AI-based communication technology that realizes system optimization by internalizing end-to-end AI support functions, and ultra-high-performance communication and computing resources to provide services with complexity that exceeds the limits of terminal computing capabilities. It can serve as a basis for the development of next-generation distributed computing technologies that can be realized by utilizing them.
[0008] Meanwhile, methods and devices for supporting mobility using location information of terminals in non-terrestrial network systems have been proposed, and for terminals that can utilize these, the need for a mobility support method that utilizes relative location measurements between the terminal and the network, which is different from the existing signal strength-based mobility support method, has arisen.
[0009] The present disclosure provides a method and device for transmitting a wake-up signal of a terminal to support power saving mode operation of a network in a wireless communication system.
[0010] According to one aspect of one embodiment of the present disclosure, a method of operating a terminal may include: receiving first configuration information for transmitting a wake-up signal (WUS) from a serving cell and second configuration information for a timer for preventing WUS transmission; determining, based on the first configuration information, whether a condition for transmitting the WUS is satisfied; and, if the condition is satisfied, transmitting a first WUS to an adjacent cell and starting the timer.
[0011] According to one aspect of an embodiment of the present disclosure, a terminal is provided, comprising: a transceiver; and at least one control unit coupled to the transceiver, wherein the at least one control unit receives first configuration information for transmitting a wake-up signal (WUS) from a serving cell and second configuration information for a timer for preventing WUS transmission, and determines whether a condition for transmitting the WUS is satisfied based on the first configuration information, and if the condition is satisfied, transmits a first WUS to an adjacent cell and starts the timer.
[0012] The technical problems to be achieved in various embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to the technical problems mentioned above, and other technical problems not mentioned will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art to which the present invention pertains from the description below.

Here, the gNB may be configured with a CU (1-02, Central Unit) and one or more DUs (1-03, 1-04, Distributed Unit).
[0032] A CU can support one or more DUs, and a DU (1-03, 1-04) can support one cell (1-06, 1-07, 1-08), or one or more cells (1-06, 1-07, 1-08).
[0033] UE (1-09) can access an external network via gNB (1-01) through the cell.
[0034] FIG. 2 is a diagram for explaining the NES mode concept of a base station or cell according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0035] Referring to FIG. 2, if a base station supporting the Wake Up Radio (WUR) function is called a WUR BS (2-01) and a terminal supporting the Wake Up Radio (WUR) function is called a WUR UE (2-04), then this WUR BS may have a Main Radio (2-02, MR) for performing wireless communication with the WUR UE and a WUR (2-03) for performing a Wake Up operation, and this WUR UE (2-04) may have a Main Radio (2-05, MR) for performing wireless communication with the WUR BS (2-01) and a WUR (2-06) for performing a Wake Up operation. At this time, the MR (2-02) of the WUR BS (2-01) can perform wireless communication with the MR (2-05) of the WUR UE (2-04) or other UE, and the WUR (2-03) of the WUR BS (2-01) can perform wireless communication with the WUR (2-06) of the WUR UE (2-04).
[0036] In one embodiment, the WUR may be a single, but logically distinct, module, rather than two physically different modules as part of the MR.
[0037] In one embodiment, the WUR may be part of the MR, both physically and logically.
[0038] WUR BS and WUR UE can have the following operational configuration states.
[0039] 1. Full On state with both MR and WUR turned on
[0040] 2. MR On state where only MR is on and WUR is off
[0041] 3. Deep Sleep state where MR is off and only WUR is on
[0042] 4. Full Off state with both MR and WUR turned off
[0043] 5. Light Sleep state where MR is on but some signals such as SSB, SIB, etc. are not transmitted and power is saved.
[0044] In order for a terminal to successfully transmit WUS to adjacent cells, the serving cell (or the base station to which the cell belongs) may need to provide the terminal with information on the WUS receivable resources of the adjacent cells.
[0045] A serving cell can determine which neighboring cells with overlapping coverage within its coverage can receive WUS through which resources (time, frequency) and in which manner (periodic or aperiodic, etc.) using WUR, and can share this information with the cells.
[0046] The base station of the cell can transmit a signal containing all or part of the following WUS resource information to the terminal.
[0047] - Time / frequency resource information that can transmit WUS,
[0048] ■ Resource information including subframe / radio frame / slot time information that has some rule that repeats periodically, for example.
[0049] ■ Resource information including, for example, WUS transmission time duration, absolute time, number of slots, number of frames, etc.
[0050] ■ Resource information including absolute time, number of slots, number of frames, timer, etc. to indicate the start time when WUS transmission is possible from the time the signal is received.
[0051] ■ Resource information including the ID of the frequency band, which refers to a certain frequency band, for example.
[0052] ■ Resource information including, for example, the ID of the resource block indicating a certain starting frequency, the bandwidth indicating the frequency bandwidth, the number of unit resource block frequency bandwidths, etc.
[0053] ■ Resource information including, for example, the ID of the reference frequency to indicate the starting frequency from a certain reference frequency, the bandwidth indicating the difference between the reference frequency and the starting frequency, the number of unit resource block frequency bandwidths, etc.
[0054] - A sequence ID or list of sequence IDs that can specify sequences that can be transmitted to WUS.
[0055] - An ID of information or a list of information IDs that indicate the type of information that can be transmitted to WUS.
[0056] - A list of condition IDs or condition IDs that indicate the type of condition that can transmit WUS.
[0057] - An indication that the terminal can transmit WUS when the base station is operating in Deep Sleep mode.
[0058] - The above information may be information about the base station transmitting the signal.
[0059] - The above information may be information of a base station (or cell) adjacent to the base station transmitting the signal, and in this case, may include a base station ID or cell ID or a base station ID list or cell ID list.
[0060] - The above information may be applied to one or more base stations or cells, and may include a list of base station IDs or cell IDs that can use the corresponding WUS transmission information.
[0061] - The above information may be information that is applied equally to all adjacent base stations or cells (cell common information), and in this case, it may include an indicator (e.g., 1 bit indication) that notifies the terminal of the relevant information.
[0062] - The above information may have a structure and format similar to or identical to PRACH (Physical Random Access Channel) configuration information.
[0063] The WUS transmitted by the terminal may contain all or part of the following information:
[0064] - Sequence transmitted to WUS
[0065] - ID of the terminal that transmitted WUS
[0066] - Part of the ID of the terminal that transmitted the WUS
[0067] - Purpose ID that can identify the purpose of WUS
[0068] ■ For example, a terminal may transmit a WUS to request SSB transmission and may transmit a destination ID indicating this.
[0069] ■ For example, a terminal can send a WUS for handover and transmit a destination ID indicating it.
[0070] The above purpose ID is specified in the specification and may be known in advance by both terminals and base stations.
[0071] The above purpose ID can be set by any entity of the core network, such as AMF, to the base station and terminal.
[0072] The above-mentioned destination ID may be set by the base station to the terminal. This may be included in a broadcast signal transmitted by the base station to the terminal, such as a master information block (MIB) included in an SSB, or in any system information block (SIB). Alternatively, the above-mentioned destination ID may be included in a unicast signal transmitted by the base station specifically to the terminal, such as an RRC signal, a MAC signal, or a PHY signal.
[0073] The above information may include an indicator that can distinguish cells currently operating in Deep Sleep mode, for example, an indicator in the form of a 1-bit indicator included in each cell information.
[0074] The above information may include an indicator that can distinguish the cell in which MR is currently on, for example, an indicator in the form of an indicator including 1 bit in each cell information.
[0075] The above information may implicitly imply that all cells included in the information are operating in deep sleep mode. In other words, the base station may configure and transmit the above information only for cells currently operating in deep sleep.
[0076] The signal may be included in a broadcast signal transmitted by the base station to the terminal, for example, a master information block (MIB) included in an SSB, or a system information block (SIB). Alternatively, the signal may be included in a unicast signal transmitted by the base station specifically to the terminal, for example, an RRC signal, a MAC signal, or a PHY signal.
[0077] FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating an example of a WUS transmission procedure of a terminal according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0078] According to FIG. 3, in step 3-05, the terminal can receive a signal including configuration information including conditions for transmitting WUS from a connected serving cell.
[0079] In one embodiment, the terminal may receive configuration information (e.g., Config WUS Trigger) for conditions for WUS transmission using measurement values of the serving cell or neighboring cells from the serving cell. The serving cell may set a trigger condition to transmit WUS by deriving a reference signal and a measurement value of the cell by measuring a reference signal, such as a Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) or a Channel State Information Reference Signal (CSI-RS), and comparing the measurement value with a threshold set by the serving cell.
[0080] In steps 3-10, the terminal can measure and evaluate whether a trigger condition is satisfied. For example, the terminal can trigger the transmission of WUS based on the following judgment criteria (conditions).
[0081] 1. Event A2 (Serving becomes worse than threshold)
[0082] The terminal can compare the measurement value of the serving cell with a threshold set by the base station (e.g., an RRC signal, a MAC signal, or a PHY signal), and trigger the transmission of a WUS if the measurement value of the serving cell is lower than the threshold. For example, the operation of the terminal can be defined as shown in Table 1 below.
[0083] The UE may:1> consider the entering condition for this event to be satisfied when condition A2-1, as specified below, is fulfilled;1> consider the leaving condition for this event to be satisfied when condition A2-2, as specified below, is fulfilled;1> for this measurement, consider the serving cell indicated by themeasObjectNRassociated to this event.Inequality A2-1 (Entering condition)Ms + Hys < ThreshInequality A2-2 (Leaving condition)Ms - Hys > ThreshThe variables in the formula are defined as follows:Msis the measurement result of the serving cell, not taking into account any offsets.Hysis the hysteresis parameter for this event (i.e.hysteresisas defined withinreportConfigNRfor this event).Threshis the threshold parameter for this event (i.e.a2-Thresholdas defined withinreportConfigNRfor this event).Msis expressed in dBm in case of RSRP, or in dB in case of RSRQ and RS-SINR.Hysis expressed in dB.Threshis expressed in the same unit asMs.
[0084] 2. Event A3 (Neighbor becomes offset better than SpCell)
[0085] The terminal attempts to perform measurements within the measurement frequency bands set by the base station or within the list of neighboring cells for measurement set by the base station. If the measurement value of a specific neighboring cell is greater than that of the serving cell by a certain offset or more, the terminal can trigger the transmission of a WUS to find a neighboring cell with better performance than the serving cell. For example, the operation of the terminal can be defined as shown in Table 2 below.
[0086] The UE may:1> consider the entering condition for this event to be satisfied when condition A3-1, as specified below, is fulfilled;1> consider the leaving condition for this event to be satisfied when condition A3-2, as specified below, is fulfilled;1> use the SpCell forMp,Ofp and Ocp.NOTE 1: The cell(s) that triggers the event has reference signals indicated in themeasObjectNRassociated to this event which may be different from the NR SpCellmeasObjectNR.Inequality A3-1 (Entering condition)Mn + Ofn + Ocn - Hys > Mp + Ofp + Ocp + OffInequality A3-2 (Leaving condition)Mn + Ofn + Ocn + Hys < Mp + Ofp + Ocp + OffThe variables in the formula are defined as follows:Mnis the measurement result of the neighbouring cell, not taking into account any offsets.Ofnis the measurement object specific offset of the reference signal of the neighbour cell (i.e.offsetMOas defined withinmeasObjectNRcorresponding to the neighbour cell).Ocnis the cell specific offset of the neighbour cell (i.e.cellIndividualOffsetas defined withinmeasObjectNRcorresponding to the frequency of the neighbour cell), and set to zero if not configured for the neighbour cell.Mpis the measurement result of the SpCell, not taking into account any offsets.Ofpis the measurement object specific offset of the SpCell (i.e.offsetMOas defined withinmeasObjectNRcorresponding to the SpCell).Ocpis the cell specific offset of the SpCell (i.e.cellIndividualOffsetas defined withinmeasObjectNRcorresponding to the SpCell), and is set to zero if not configured for the SpCell.Hysis the hysteresis parameter for this event (i.e.hysteresisas defined withinreportConfigNRfor this event).Offis the offset parameter for this event (i.e.a3-Offsetas defined withinreportConfigNRfor this event).Mn, Mpare expressed in dBm in case of RSRP, or in dB in case of RSRQ and RS-SINR.Ofn,Ocn,Ofp,Ocp,Hys,Offare expressed in dB.
[0087] 3. Event A4 (Neighbour becomes better than threshold)
[0088] The terminal attempts to measure within the measurement frequency bands set by the base station or within the list of adjacent cells for measurement set by the base station. If the measurement value of an adjacent cell among the searched cells is greater than a threshold set by the base station, the terminal can trigger the transmission of a WUS to find an adjacent cell with better performance than the cell in question. For example, the operation of the terminal can be defined as in Table 3 below.
[0089] The UE may:1> consider the entering condition for this event to be satisfied when condition A4-1, as specified below, is fulfilled;1> consider the leaving condition for this event to be satisfied when condition A4-2, as specified below, is fulfilled.Inequality A4-1 (Entering condition)Mn + Ofn + Ocn - Hys > ThreshInequality A4-2 (Leaving condition)Mn + Ofn + Ocn + Hys < ThreshThe variables in the formula are defined as follows:Mnis the measurement result of the neighbouring cell, not taking into account any offsets.Ofnis the measurement object specific offset of the neighbour cell (i.e.offsetMOas defined withinmeasObjectNRcorresponding to the neighbour cell).Ocnis the measurement object specific offset of the neighbour cell (i.e.cellIndividualOffsetas defined withinmeasObjectNRcorresponding to the neighbour cell), and set to zero if not configured for the neighbour cell.Hysis the hysteresis parameter for this event (i.e.hysteresisas defined withinreportConfigNRfor this event).Threshis the threshold parameter for this event (iea4-Thresholdas defined withinreportConfigNRfor this event).Mnis expressed in dBm in case of RSRP, or in dB in case of RSRQ and RS-SINR.Ofn, Ocn, Hysare expressed in dB.Threshis expressed in the same unit asMn.
[0090] 4. Event A5 (SpCell becomes worse than threshold1 and neighbor becomes better than threshold2)
[0091] The terminal may attempt to perform measurements within the measurement frequency bands set by the base station or within the neighboring cell list for measurement set by the base station, and may trigger transmission of a WUS if the measurement value of the serving cell is lower than any threshold 1 set by the base station and the neighboring cell is higher than any threshold 2 set by the base station. For example, the operation of the terminal may be defined as in Table 4 below.
[0092] The UE may:1> consider the entering condition for this event to be satisfied when both condition A5-1 and condition A5-2, as specified below, are fulfilled;1> consider the leaving condition for this event to be satisfied when condition A5-3 or condition A5-4, i.e. at least one of the two, as specified below, is fulfilled;1> use the SpCell forMp.NOTE 1: The parameters of the reference signal(s) of the cell(s) that triggers the event are indicated in themeasObjectNRassociated to the event which may be different from themeasObjectNRof the NR SpCell.Inequality A5-1 (Entering condition 1)Mp + Hys < Thresh1Inequality A5-2 (Entering condition 2)Mn + Ofn + Ocn - Hys > Thresh2Inequality A5-3 (Leaving condition 1)Mp - Hys > Thresh1Inequality A5-4 (Leaving condition 2)Mn + Ofn + Ocn + Hys < Thresh2The variables in the formula are defined as follows:Mpis the measurement result of the NR SpCell, not taking into account any offsets.Mnis the measurement result of the neighbouring cell, not taking into account any offsets.Ofnis the measurement object specific offset of the neighbour cell (i.e.offsetMOas defined withinmeasObjectNRcorresponding to the neighbour cell).Ocnis the cell specific offset of the neighbour cell (i.e.cellIndividualOffsetas defined withinmeasObjectNRcorresponding to the neighbour cell), and set to zero if not configured for the neighbour cell.Hysis the hysteresis parameter for this event (i.e.hysteresisas defined withinreportConfigNRfor this event).Thresh1is the threshold parameter for this event (i.e.a5-Threshold1as defined withinreportConfigNRfor this event).Thresh2is the threshold parameter for this event (i.e.a5-Threshold2as defined withinreportConfigNRfor this event).Mn, Mpare expressed in dBm in case of RSRP, or in dB in case of RSRQ and RS-SINR.Ofn, Ocn, Hysare expressed in dB.Thresh1is expressed in the same unit asMp.Thresh2is expressed in the same unit asMn.
[0093] 5. Event NoCell (No active neighbor cells)

[0134] The configuration information, including the above trigger conditions, indicators, thresholds, etc., may be a unicast message transmitted to a specific terminal, or a broadcast message transmitted to an unspecified number of terminals. The configuration information may be an RRC message, a MAC message including a MAC CE, or a DCI message of the PHY layer.
[0135] In one embodiment, the trigger condition may be configured to have different threshold values for different specific cells. For example, the trigger condition may be a list of trigger conditions configured with different Events and / or different threshold values for multiple cells, with one element being a trigger condition based on a measurement value of the cell, the trigger condition having elements including an ID of the specific cell, one or more Events corresponding to the ID, and one or more threshold values. For example, the list of trigger conditions may be defined as in Table 25 below.
[0136] WusTriggerConditions:Listof {Condition ID; indicates the id among WUS Trigger Conditions,Cell ID (or list of Cell IDs); indicates the cell(s) for this condition,Condition events (or list of events); indicates events such as A2, A3, … for the cells to trigger WUS tx.}
[0137] In one embodiment, the trigger condition may be configured to have different thresholds for different specific cells and to transmit WUS to specific cells. For example, the trigger condition may be a trigger condition based on a measurement value of a specific cell, which has an element composed of an ID of the specific cell, one or more Events corresponding to the ID, and one or more thresholds, and a list of trigger conditions configured with different Events and / or different thresholds for multiple cells, with each element being a target cell to which WUS is to be transmitted. For example, the list of trigger conditions may be defined as in Table 26 below.
[0138] WusTriggerConditions:Listof {Condition ID; indicates the id among WUS Trigger Conditions,Trigger Cell ID (or list of Cell IDs); indicates the cell(s) for this condition to trigger WUS tx.,Condition events (or list of events); indicates events such as A2, A3, … for the cells to trigger WUS tx.Candidate Cell ID (or list of Cell IDs); indicates the cell(s) for transmitting WUS to them,}
[0139] In one embodiment, a terminal that has received a trigger for WUS transmission from a base station may measure a reference signal of a serving cell and / or a neighboring cell as set, and compare the reference signal with a set threshold value to determine whether the set trigger condition is satisfied. In steps 3-15, if the trigger condition is satisfied, the terminal may transmit WUS to a specific or unspecified neighboring cell.
[0140] The resource information for the above WUS transmission may have been provided to the terminal from the base station via a signal (e.g., a broadcast signal or an RRC signal) before the trigger condition setting information for the WUS transmission was received. Alternatively, the resource information for the WUS transmission may be included in a single signal (e.g., an RRC signal) together with the trigger condition setting signal for the WUS transmission.
[0141] In step 3-20, the adjacent cell that received the WUS transmitted by the terminal can exit the sleep mode by determining the following conditions if it is operating in the sleep mode. (For example, if it is in the deep sleep mode, the main radio (MR) can be woken up, and if it is in the light sleep mode, SSB / SIB transmission can be started.)
[0142] - You can wake up (unconditionally) when you receive WUS.
[0143] - WUS can wake up when the received power exceeds a certain threshold.
[0144] - WUS can wake up when the received power exceeds a certain threshold set by any entity (e.g. AMF, etc.) in the network (e.g. core network).
[0145] - WUS can wake up when the received power exceeds a certain threshold provided by the neighboring cell.
[0146] In step 3-25, the MR of the woke-up adjacent cell can transmit a synchronization signal block (SSB).
[0147] FIG. 4 is a diagram illustrating a method for limiting WUS repetitive transmission using a timer according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0148] According to FIG. 4, a serving cell may set a timer (e.g., WusProhibitTimer) to prevent WUS transmissions to a terminal in order to prevent repeated WUS transmissions within a short period of time and to reduce unnecessary power consumption of the terminal and base station. The signal may be an RRC signal, a MAC signal, or a PHY signal. The drawing illustrates WusProhibitTimer set as an RRC signal as an example.
[0149] A terminal with the Timer set can perform some or all of the following actions in relation to WUS transmission.
[0150] - The terminal can transmit WUS signal to neighboring cell(s) and start WusProhibitTimer.
[0151] - The terminal can start WusProhibitTimer by sending a WUS signal if the current WusProhibitTimer has expired.
[0152] - The terminal may not trigger WUS signal transmission if the current WusProhibitTimer has not expired.
[0153] - The terminal may not perform WUS signal transmission even if WUS signal transmission is triggered if the current WusProhibitTimer has not expired.
[0154] - The terminal can restart WusProhibitTimer if WUS is triggered again while WusProhibitTimer has not expired yet.
[0155] - The starting point of the WusProhibitTimer may be one of the following: the start point of WUS signal transmission by the terminal, the end point of WUS signal transmission by the terminal, the trigger trigger for WUS signal transmission by the terminal, or the time points specified above plus any time offset (e.g., number of slots) set by the base station.
[0156] In one embodiment, the WusProhibitTimer may be included in the WUS trigger condition specified in FIG. 3, so that the WUS is triggered only when the WusProhibitTimer has expired or the Timer is not running.
[0157] For example, the above Event X (where X is one of the WUS trigger conditions specified in the above Figure 3, such as A2, A3, A4, WUS1, or s-Measure) may be changed to 'Event X + WusProhibitTimer expires'.
[0158] FIG. 5 is a diagram illustrating a method for repeating WUS transmission of a terminal according to cell settings according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0159] According to FIG. 5, the serving cell may allow regular and repetitive WUS transmissions to the terminal as needed to increase the success rate of WUS transmissions or to improve the coverage that WUS transmissions can reach.
[0160] To this end, the base station can set a WUS transmission pattern for the terminal. The signal may be an RRC signal, a MAC signal, or a PHY signal. The drawing illustrates, as an example, a WUS transmission pattern including three repeated transmissions with the same period set by an RRC signal.
[0161] The terminal may receive from the base station a series of patterns having some or all of the following configurations in relation to WUS transmission.
[0162] - The base station can set the number of WUS retransmissions or the total number of WUS transmissions.
[0163] - The base station can set the period between each WUS transmission.
[0164] - The base station can set a list of target cells to transmit WUS.
[0165] - The base station can configure the terminal to start the WusProhibitTimer when (or immediately after) the last WUS transmission.
[0166] - The base station can be configured to start the WusProhibitTimer when the terminal first transmits WUS (or immediately after transmission).
[0167] - The starting point of the WusProhibitTimer may be one of the following: the start point of WUS signal transmission by the terminal, the end point of WUS signal transmission by the terminal, the trigger trigger for WUS signal transmission by the terminal, or the time points specified above plus any time offset (e.g., number of slots) set by the base station.
[0168] In one embodiment, the WusProhibitTimer may be included in the WUS trigger condition specified in FIG. 3, so that the WUS is triggered only when the WusProhibitTimer has expired or the Timer is not running.
[0169] For example, the above Event X (where X is one of the WUS trigger conditions specified in the above Figure 3, such as A2, A3, A4, WUS1, or s-Measure) may be changed to 'Event X + WusProhibitTimer Expired'.
[0170] In one embodiment, the base station may configure (or instruct) the terminal to transmit WUS only when the base station permits.
[0171] For example, a base station may transmit a signal including an indication allowing a terminal to transmit WUS (or not allowing it to transmit), and the terminal may transmit WUS only if the base station allows it.
[0172] The signal may be included in a broadcast signal transmitted by the base station to the terminal, for example, a master information block (MIB) included in an SSB, or a system information block (SIB). Alternatively, the signal may be included in a unicast signal transmitted by the base station specifically to the terminal, for example, an RRC signal, a MAC signal, or a PHY signal.
[0173] The above signal may also be transmitted by the base station to the terminal, including a list of neighboring cells to which the base station can transmit WUS.
[0174] The base station that received the WUS can exit sleep mode if it is operating in sleep mode by determining the following conditions. (For example, if it is in deep sleep mode, it can wake up the main radio (MR), and if it is in light sleep mode, it can start SSB / SIB transmission.) The base station can transmit broadcast signals such as SSB and SIB while waiting for the terminal to connect. However, if the terminal does not connect for a certain period of time, the base station may need to return to sleep mode to save power.
[0175] To do this, the base station can return to Sleep mode according to the Timer based on any SleepTimer value.
[0176] The SleepTimer can be set by the base station from any entity in the upper core network (e.g. AMF, SMF, MME, etc.).
[0177] The SleepTimer can perform some or all of the following functions:
[0178] - Base station SleepTimer can start from the time the base station receives WUS.
[0179] - Base station SleepTimer can start from the time the base station receives WUS.
[0180] - When the SleepTimer expires, the base station can return to Sleep mode, for example, Deep Sleep mode, and perform power saving actions.
[0181] FIG. 6 is a diagram illustrating a signaling procedure for setting a timer between cells according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0182] According to Figure 6, a serving cell can exchange SleepTimer information with adjacent cell(s). Depending on the capabilities and implementation of each cell and base station, the SleepTimer of each cell may have different values. Accordingly, a serving cell can collect SleepTimer information from adjacent cells and provide the SleepTimer information of the serving cell to the adjacent cells.
[0183] To this end, in step 6-05, the serving cell may transmit an inter-node message requesting SleepTimer information to neighboring cells, and in response, may receive an inter-node message including SleepTimer information.
[0184] In another embodiment, the serving cell and neighboring cells may forward inter-node messages containing SleepTimer to neighboring cells upon cell installation or when SleepTimer is changed.
[0185] In steps 6-10, the serving cell that has collected SleepTimer information from neighboring cells can select and decide on a specific WusProhibitTimer.
[0186] - For example, the serving cell can determine a WusProhibitTimer with a value less than or equal to all collected SleepTimers. This allows the terminal to retransmit WUS before any neighboring cell goes to sleep again if WUS is triggered continuously.
[0187] In steps 6-15, the serving cell can transmit a signal to the terminal to set the determined WusProhibitTimer so that the terminal does not perform unnecessary WUS signal retransmission within the WusProhibitTimer.
[0188] FIG. 7 is a diagram illustrating a signaling procedure for reactivating a sleep mode of an adjacent cell according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0189] According to FIG. 7, when a neighboring cell receives a WUS transmitted by a terminal and comes out of sleep mode (e.g., if it is in deep sleep mode, it can wake up the main radio (MR), and if it is in light sleep mode, it can start SSB / SIB transmission), it shows a method in which a serving cell can transmit a signal between nodes to switch it back to sleep mode.
[0190] In step 7-05, the terminal can transmit a WUS signal to a neighboring cell. In step 7-10, the neighboring cell that receives the WUS signal transmitted by the terminal can wake up and prepare for SSB transmission and various signal transmission and reception.
[0191] In steps 7-15, the serving cell may decide, based on various judgments, whether to transmit a message (e.g., a BackToSleep message) to enable the neighboring cell to return to Sleep Mode when it wakes up due to the WUS of the specific terminal.
[0192] - The serving cell may decide to transmit a BackToSleep message to other adjacent cells when the handover is successful and the terminal performs a handover to the serving cell.
[0193] - The serving cell can determine whether to transmit a BackToSleep message to adjacent cells by judging the uplink or downlink channel status (RSRP, RSRQ, CQI, etc.) of the corresponding terminal and, if the channel status is good beyond a certain threshold,
[0194] - The serving cell can determine the mobility of the terminal and, if the terminal is in a low mobility state, decide to transmit a BackToSleep message to other adjacent cells.
[0195] - The serving cell can determine whether the terminal is located on the cell edge and, if the terminal is not at the cell edge (not-at-cell-edge), decide to transmit a BackToSleep message to other adjacent cells.
[0196] - The serving cell may consider one or more of the above-described judgment conditions and decide to transmit a BackToSleep message to other adjacent cells if various conditions are satisfied.
[0197] The above low mobility conditions can be determined as shown in Table 27 below:
[0198] The relaxed measurement criterion for UE with low mobility is fulfilled when:- (Srxlev Ref - Srxlev) < S SearchDeltaP ,Where:- Srxlev = current Srxlev value of the serving cell (dB).- Srxlev Ref= reference Srxlev value of the serving cell (dB), set as follows:- After selecting or reselecting a new cell, or- If (Srxlev - Srxlev Ref ) > 0, or- If the relaxed measurement criterion has not been met for T SearchDeltaP :- The UE may set the value of Srxlev Ref to the current Srxlev value of the serving cell.
[0199] The above not-at-cell-edge condition can be determined as shown in Table 28 below:
[0200] The relaxed measurement criterion for UE not at cell edge is fulfilled when:- Srxlev > S SearchThresholdP , and,- Squal > S SearchThresholdQ , if S SearchThresholdQ is configured,Where:- Srxlev = current Srxlev value of the serving cell (dB).- Squal = current Squal value of the serving cell (dB).
[0201] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the received signal strength and the signal strength threshold may be replaced with the distance and the distance threshold between the base station and the terminal, respectively.
[0202] If the above condition(s) are satisfied, in steps 7-15, the serving cell can transmit a BackToSleep message as an inter-node message to neighboring cells.
[0203] In addition, the serving cell may transmit a BackToSleep message as an inter-node message to neighboring cells if any condition determined to be necessary by the terminal that transmitted the WUS is satisfied.
[0204] The above BackToSleep message may contain all or part of the following information:
[0205] - Sequence ID of WUS
[0206] - Time of receiving WUS
[0207] - Any temporary ID calculated from the time the WUS was received
[0208] - ID of the terminal that transmitted WUS
[0209] - Part of the ID of the terminal that transmitted the WUS
[0210] - Purpose ID that can identify the purpose of WUS
[0211] - Uplink channel quality of the terminal (RSRP, RSRQ, CQI, etc.)
[0212] - Downlink channel quality of the terminal (RSRP, RSRQ, CQI, etc.)
[0213] - An indicator that allows the base station to return to sleep mode.
[0214] The above inter-node message may be a message that can be transmitted and received between base stations, within a base station, between DUs, within DUs, between CUs, and / or within CUs via a wired network such as X2.
[0215] In step 7-25, the cell that received the above inter-node message may return to sleep mode to save power if it determines that there is a power saving benefit by considering one or more conditions, such as whether there is a terminal within the cell, whether there is another WUS received from another adjacent terminal, and whether the SleepTimer has expired.

In paragraph 1, A method further comprising the step of receiving a synchronization signal block (SSB) from the adjacent cell.
3. In paragraph 1, A method further comprising the step of determining not to trigger transmission of the second WUS if the above timer is running.
4. In paragraph 1, A method further comprising the step of determining not to transmit the second WUS if the timer is running when transmission of the second WUS is triggered.
5. In paragraph 1, A method further comprising the step of restarting the timer if the timer is running when transmission of the second WUS is triggered.
6. In paragraph 1, The starting point of the above timer is, A method, characterized in that the time point is any one of the time point at which the transmission of the first WUS of the terminal starts, the time point at which the transmission of the first WUS of the terminal ends, or the time point at which the transmission of the first WUS of the terminal is triggered.
7. In paragraph 1, The starting point of the above timer is, A method characterized in that the time offset set from the base station is added to any one of the time at which the transmission of the first WUS of the terminal starts, the time at which the transmission of the first WUS of the terminal ends, or the time at which the transmission of the first WUS of the terminal is triggered.
8. In paragraph 7, A method, characterized in that the above time offset is set based on the number of slots.
9. In a terminal in a wireless communication system, Transmitter and receiver; and At least one control unit coupled to the above transceiver unit, At least one of the above control units, Receive first configuration information for transmitting a wake up signal (WUS) from a serving cell and second configuration information for a timer for preventing WUS transmission, Based on the above first setting information, it is determined whether the conditions for the WUS transmission are satisfied, A terminal that transmits a first WUS to an adjacent cell and starts the timer when the above condition is satisfied.
10. In paragraph 9, At least one of the above control units, A terminal that receives a synchronization signal block (SSB) from the adjacent cell.
11. In paragraph 9, At least one of the above control units, A terminal that decides not to trigger transmission of the second WUS while the above timer is running.
12. In paragraph 9, At least one of the above control units, A terminal which decides not to transmit the second WUS if the timer is running when transmission of the second WUS is triggered.
13. In paragraph 9, At least one of the above control units, A terminal that restarts the timer if the timer is running when the transmission of the second WUS is triggered.
14. In paragraph 9, The starting point of the above timer is, A terminal, characterized in that the time point is any one of the time point at which the transmission of the first WUS of the terminal starts, the time point at which the transmission of the first WUS of the terminal ends, or the time point at which the transmission of the first WUS of the terminal is triggered.
15. In paragraph 9, The starting point of the above timer is, It is characterized in that the value is obtained by adding a time offset set from the base station to any one of the time at which the transmission of the first WUS of the terminal starts, the time at which the transmission of the first WUS of the terminal ends, or the time at which the transmission of the first WUS of the terminal is triggered. A terminal, characterized in that the above time offset is set based on the number of slots.
