AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional dressings for CV ports struggle to securely fix Huber needles due to the raised implantation site and thick needle, leading to wobbling and infection risks, especially when the needle length is inappropriate for patients, requiring separate cushioning materials that may not be sterilized.

Method used

A dressing with a base layer and nonwoven fabric sheet, featuring a perforated design and pressure-sensitive adhesive layers, allows for natural application around the needle, maintaining it in a straight line and reducing wobbling, while ensuring secure fixation and infection prevention.

Benefits of technology

The dressing effectively fixes the Huber needle and tube in a straight line, reducing wobbling and infection risks, with a design that conforms to the skin and allows visual inspection, enhancing patient safety and comfort.

Abstract

The present invention has: a base material layer (10) in which a first adhesive layer is provided on one surface of a film; a release sheet (30) which is releasably superposed so as to cover the surface of the first adhesive layer; and a nonwoven fabric sheet (20) which is superposed on a surface of the base material layer, the surface being on the reverse side from the first adhesive layer. The nonwoven fabric sheet (20) is bonded to the film by being provided with a second adhesive layer on one surface of a perforated nonwoven fabric, and a window part is formed of a perforated part (23) of the nonwoven fabric sheet. The release sheet (30) can be divided into a first portion (31), a second portion (32), and a third portion (33). The second portion (32) is in the form of a band that crosses the perforated part (23), and the first portion (31) and the third portion (33) are disposed on both sides of the second portion (32). The width (E) of the second portion is 20-80 mm without including the width of a portion that overlaps with the first portion or the third portion. The size (B) of the window part, which is composed of the perforated part (23), is 60 mm or more, and the width (C) of the nonwoven fabric sheet around the perforated part (23) is 10 mm or more.
