AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

In the process of frequency improvement and miniaturization, it is difficult to maintain good electrical characteristics and stability of existing piezoelectric vibration elements, especially in high frequency bands, where there are problems of uneven distribution of vibration energy and improvement of CI value.

Method used

A piezoelectric vibrating element is designed, which includes a thin vibrating section and a surrounding section thicker than the vibrating section. The thick portion is located at least on both sides of the vibrating portion and mounting electrons are placed on the thick portion. These mounting electrons span the two surfaces of the thick section, ensuring electrical characteristics and vibration stability by detecting position deviations in the area.

Benefits of technology

With this design, the electrical characteristics and vibration stability of piezoelectric vibration elements can be significantly improved, especially in high frequency bands, reducing the uneven distribution of vibration energy and reducing the CI value.

Abstract

A piezoelectric vibration element according to the present invention comprises: a vibration piece that has a vibration part and a thick part and has a rectangular shape as seen in plan view; and a pair of mounted electrodes that are positioned at the thick part. The thick part is positioned along at least two sides of the vibration piece. At least one of the mounted electrodes is positioned across a first portion that is on a first surface and a second portion that is on a second surface that is on the reverse side from the first surface. The first portion and the second portion include a detection region at which one of the first portion and the second portion can be seen through the vibration piece as seen in plan view to allow detection of the relative displacement between the first portion and the second portion. A first side that is orthogonal to a first direction and a second side that is orthogonal to a second direction that is orthogonal to the first direction are positioned at the first portion, and a third side that is orthogonal to the first direction and a fourth side that is orthogonal to the second direction are positioned at the second portion. The first side and the third side are at different positions, the second side and the fourth side are at different positions, and the space between the first side and the third side and the space between the second side and the fourth side are outside at least one of the first portion and the second portion.
