Abstract

Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to PDSCH transmission in SBFD symbols. In an aspect, a UE receives, from a base station, an indication of allocated resources for a PDSCH transmission, wherein the allocated resources are located in SBFD symbols. The UE determines a first TCI state and a second TCI state to be applied to the PDSCH transmission. The UE receives, from the base station, the PDSCH transmission in a first subset of resources associated with the first TCI state and a second subset of resources associated with the second TCI state. The first subset of resources and the second subset of resources are determined based on frequency domain locations of the allocated resources and a precoding granularity of the PDSCH transmission.

[0001] The present disclosure relates to wireless communications, and more specifically to a user equipment (UE) , a base station, processors for wireless communication and methods for physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission in subband full duplex (SBFD) symbols.BACKGROUND

[0002] A wireless communications system may include one or multiple network communication devices, such as base stations, which may be otherwise known as an eNodeB (eNB) , a next-generation NodeB (gNB) , or other suitable terminology. Each network communication devices, such as a base station may support wireless communications for one or multiple user communication devices, which may be otherwise known as user equipment (UE) , or other suitable terminology. The wireless communications system may support wireless communications with one or multiple user communication devices by utilizing resources of the wireless communication system (e.g., time resources (e.g., symbols, slots, subframes, frames, or the like) or frequency resources (e.g., subcarriers, carriers) . Additionally, the wireless communications system may support wireless communications across various radio access technologies including third generation (3G) radio access technology, fourth generation (4G) radio access technology, fifth generation (5G) radio access technology, among other suitable radio access technologies beyond 5G (e.g., sixth generation (6G) ) .

[0003] A PDSCH transmission may be scheduled by downlink control information (DCI) which indicates the frequency domain resource of the PDSCH transmission by indicating the starting RB and RB number. In a frequency-division multiplexing (FDM) PDSCH repetition scheme, two transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states may be applied to the PDSCH transmission. Enhancements on the PDSCH transmission in SBFD symbols / slots are still needed.SUMMARY

[0004] The present disclosure relates to methods, apparatuses, and systems that support PDSCH transmission in SBFD symbols / slots. In an aspect, allocated resources  for a PDSCH transmission may be located in SBFD symbols. The UE may determine a first TCI state and a second TCI state to be applied to the PDSCH transmission. The UE may further determine a first subset of resources associated with the first TCI state and a second subset of resources associated with the second TCI state based on frequency domain locations of the allocated resources and a precoding granularity of the PDSCH transmission and may receive the PDSCH transmission in the first and second subsets of resources. In this way, a scheme for PDSCH transmission on non-overlapping frequency resources associated with different TCI states in the SBFD symbols / slots may be designed.

[0031] In some implementations of the method and apparatuses described herein, the precoding granularity is a wideband granularity, the allocated resources may include nPRB PRBs in frequency domain which may include nPRB-v valid PRBs in frequency  domain, wherein one of the following: in the case that is larger than or equal to nPRB-v, the first subset of resources associated with the first TCI state may include all valid PRBs in the allocated resources; or in the case that is smaller than nPRB-v, the first subset of resources associated with the first TCI state may include valid PRBs in frequency domain in the allocated resources, and the second subset of resources associated with the second TCI state may include remaining valid PRBs in frequency domain in the allocated resources.

[0032] In some implementations of the method and apparatuses described herein, the indication of the allocated resources is carried in downlink control information (DCI) , and an indication of the precoding granularity of the PDSCH transmission is carried in a radio resource control (RRC) signaling.

[0033] In a fourth aspect of the solution, a base station transmits, to a user equipment, a configuration of a frequency domain resource range for a multicast or broadcast service (MBS) physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) , wherein at least a portion of the frequency domain resource range is outside of downlink (DL) usable physical resource blocks (PRBs) . The base station transmits, to the user equipment, a resource indication for a MBS PDSCH transmission in subband full duplex (SBFD) symbols on the MBS PDSCH. The base station transmits, to the user equipment, the MBS PDSCH transmission based on the resource indication, the frequency domain resource range and the DL usable PRBs.

[0034] Some implementations of the method and apparatuses described herein may further include: determining an intersection frequency domain resource of the frequency domain resource range and the DL usable PRBs; and determining allocated resources for the MBS PDSCH transmission by interpreting the resource indication based on the intersection frequency domain resource.

[0035] In some implementations of the method and apparatuses described herein, the resource indication may include a bitmap for a plurality of resource block groups (RBGs) for the allocated resources in the intersection frequency domain resource.

[0048] In the following description and claims, unless defined otherwise, all technical and scientific terms used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood by one of ordinary skills in the art to which this disclosure belongs.

[0049] References in the present disclosure to “one embodiment, ” “an example embodiment, ” “an embodiment, ” “some embodiments, ” and the like indicate that the embodiment (s) described may include a particular feature, structure, or characteristic, but it is not necessary that every embodiment includes the particular feature, structure, or characteristic. Moreover, such phrases do not necessarily refer to the same embodiment (s) . Further, when a particular feature, structure, or characteristic is described in connection with an embodiment, it is submitted that it is within the knowledge of one skilled in the art to affect such feature, structure, or characteristic in connection with other embodiments whether or not explicitly described.

[0050] It shall be understood that although the terms “first” and “second” or the like may be used herein to describe various elements, these elements should not be limited by these terms. These terms are only used to distinguish one element from another element. For example, a first element could also be termed as a second element, and similarly, a second element could also be termed as a first element, without departing from the scope of embodiments. As used herein, the term “and / or” includes any and all combinations of one or more of the listed terms.

[0051] The terminology used herein is for the purpose of describing particular embodiments only and is not intended to be limiting of example embodiments. As used herein, the singular forms “a” , “an” and “the” are intended to include the plural forms as well, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. It will be further understood that the terms “comprises” , “comprising” , “has” , “having” , “includes” and / or “including” , when used herein, specify the presence of stated features, elements, and / or components etc., but  do not preclude the presence or addition of one or more other features, elements, components and / or combinations thereof.

[0052] As used herein, the term “communication network” refers to a network following any suitable communication standards, such as, 5G NR, long term evolution (LTE) , LTE-advanced (LTE-A) , wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) , high-speed packet access (HSPA) , narrow band internet of things (NB-IoT) , and so on. Further, the communications between a terminal device and a network device in the communication network may be performed according to any suitable generation communication protocols, including but not limited to, the first generation (1F) , the second generation (2G) , 2.5G, 2.75G, the third generation (3G) , the fourth generation (4G) , 4.5G, the fifth generation (5G) communication protocols, and / or any other protocols either currently known or to be developed in the future. Embodiments of the present disclosure may be applied in various communication systems. Given the rapid development in communications, there will also be future type communication technologies and systems in which the present disclosure may be embodied. It should not be seen as limiting the scope of the present disclosure to only the aforementioned systems.

[0053] As used herein, the term “network device” generally refers to a node in a communication network via which a terminal device can access the communication network and receive services therefrom. The network device may refer to a base station (BS) or an access point (AP) , for example, a node B (NodeB or NB) , a radio access network (RAN) node, an evolved NodeB (eNodeB or eNB) , an NR NB (also referred to as a gNB) , a remote radio unit (RRU) , a radio header (RH) , an infrastructure device for a V2X (vehicle-to-everything) communication, a transmission and reception point (TRP) , a reception point (RP) , a remote radio head (RRH) , a relay, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node, a low power node such as a femto BS, a pico BS, and so forth, depending on the applied terminology and technology.

[0054] As used herein, the term “terminal device” generally refers to any end device that may be capable of wireless communications. By way of example rather than a limitation, a terminal device may also be referred to as a communication device, a user equipment (UE) , an end user device, a subscriber station (SS) , an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) , a portable subscriber station, a mobile station (MS) , or an access terminal (AT) . The terminal device may include, but is not limited to, a mobile phone, a cellular phone,  a smart phone, a voice over IP (VoIP) phone, a wireless local loop phone, a tablet, a wearable terminal device, a personal digital assistant (PDA) , a portable computer, a desktop computer, an image capture terminal device such as a digital camera, a gaming terminal device, a music storage and playback appliance, a vehicle-mounted wireless terminal device, a wireless endpoint, a mobile station, laptop-embedded equipment (LEE) , laptop-mounted equipment (LME) , a USB dongle, a smart device, wireless customer-premises equipment (CPE) , an internet of things (loT) device, a watch or other wearable, a head-mounted display (HMD) , a vehicle, a drone, a medical device (for example, a remote surgery device) , an industrial device (for example, a robot and / or other wireless devices operating in an industrial and / or an automated processing chain contexts) , a consumer electronics device, a device operating on commercial and / or industrial wireless networks, and the like. In the following description, the terms: “terminal device, ” “communication device, ” “terminal, ” “user equipment” and “UE, ” may be used interchangeably.

[0055] A PDSCH transmission may be scheduled by a DCI which indicates the frequency domain resource of the PDSCH transmission by indicating the starting RB and RB number. When a UE is configured by a higher layer parameter repetitionScheme which is set to one of 'fdmSchemeA' , 'fdmSchemeB' or 'tdmSchemeA' , if the UE not configured with dl-OrJointTCI-StateList is indicated with two TCI states in a codepoint of the DCI field 'Transmission Configuration Indication' or if the UE configured with dl-OrJointTCI-StateList is having two indicated TCI States to be applied to PDSCH and the UE is indicated with DM-RS port (s) within one code division multiple (CDM) group in the DCI field 'Antenna Port (s) ' , the UE shall receive the PDSCH transmission upon detection of the DCI following the below procedure.

[0056] - When the UE is configured with the higher layer parameter repetitionScheme set to 'fdmSchemeA' , the UE shall receive a single PDSCH transmission occasion of the transmission block (TB) with each TCI state associated to a non-overlapping frequency domain resource allocation.

[0057] - When the UE is configured with the higher layer parameter repetitionScheme set to 'fdmSchemeB' , the UE shall receive two PDSCH transmission occasions of the same TB with each TCI state associated to a PDSCH transmission  occasion which has non-overlapping frequency domain resource allocation with respect to the other PDSCH transmission occasion.

[0058] - When the UE is configured with the higher layer parameter repetitionScheme set to 'tdmSchemeA' , the UE shall receive two PDSCH transmission occasions of the same TB with each TCI state associated to a PDSCH transmission occasion which has non-overlapping time domain resource allocation with respect to the other PDSCH transmission occasion and both PDSCH transmission occasions shall be received within a given slot.

[0059] A TCI state could indicate a RS configured with a Quasi Co-Location (QCL) type, and the expression “a TCI state is applied to a PDSCH” or “a TCI state is associated with a PDSCH” means the qcl relationship between the reference signals and the DM-RS ports of the PDSCH meets the configured QCL type. The UE obtains the QCL assumptions from the configured TCI state for DM-RS of PDSCH.

[0060] The QCL types corresponding to each DL RS are given by the higher layer parameter qcl-Type in QCL-Info and may take one of the following values:

[0061] - 'typeA' : {Doppler shift, Doppler spread, average delay, delay spread} ;

[0062] - 'typeB' : {Doppler shift, Doppler spread} ;

[0063] - 'typeC' : {Doppler shift, average delay} ; or

[0064] - 'typeD' : {Spatial Rx parameter} .

[0065] A UE may assume that a precoding granularity is P′BWP, i consecutive resource blocks in the frequency domain. P′BWP, i may be equal to one of the values among {2, 4, wideband} . The UE may assume that the same precoding is applied for any downlink contiguous allocation of PRBs in a PRG.

[0066] If P′BWP, i is determined as one of the values among {2, 4} , precoding resource block group (PRGs) partition the bandwidth part i with P′BWP, i consecutive PRBs. Actual number of consecutive PRBs in each PRG could be one or more. The first PRG size is given by The last PRG size given by if and the last PRG size is P′BWP, i if For PDSCH scheduled by PDCCH with DCI  scrambled using group RNTI (G-RNTI) or group configured scheduling RNTI (G-CS-RNTI) ,  is the starting PRB of the common frequency resource (CFR) and is the CFR. The UE may assume the same precoding is applied for any downlink contiguous allocation of PRBs in a PRG.

[0067] In order to realize the superior data rate and latency, a duplexing scheme is to be introduced so as to enable simultaneous use of downlink and uplink within a time division duplexing (TDD) carrier using non-overlapped frequency resource. The duplexing scheme could be named as sub-band full duplex (SBFD) . The intention of the SBFD scheme is to extend the duration over which uplink transmission could occur for improving uplink coverage and capacity. The introduction of the SBFD scheme may result in different symbol / slot types. Studies on the PDSCH transmission in the SBFD scheme are still needed. In particular, studies on the PDSCH transmission on non-overlapping frequency resources associated with different TCI in the SBFD scheme are needed.

[0068] In view of the above, embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution for PDSCH transmission in SBFD symbols / slots. In an aspect of the solution, allocated resources for a PDSCH transmission may be located in SBFD symbols.

[0069] Aspects of the present disclosure are described in the context of a wireless communications system.

[0070] FIG. 1A illustrates an example of a wireless communications system 100 that supports PDSCH transmission in SBFD symbols in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. The wireless communications system 100 may include one or more network entities 102 (also referred to as network equipment (NE) ) , one or more UEs 104, a core network 106, and a packet data network 108. The wireless communications system 100  may support various radio access technologies. In some implementations, the wireless communications system 100 may be a 4G network, such as an LTE network or an LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) network. In some other implementations, the wireless communications system 100 may be a 5G network, such as an NR network. In other implementations, the wireless communications system 100 may be a combination of a 4G network and a 5G network, or other suitable radio access technology including Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11 (Wi-Fi) , IEEE 802.16 (WiMAX) , IEEE 802.20. The wireless communications system 100 may support radio access technologies beyond 5G. Additionally, the wireless communications system 100 may support technologies, such as time division multiple access (TDMA) , frequency division multiple access (FDMA) , or code division multiple access (CDMA) , etc.

[0072] A network entity 102 may provide a geographic coverage area 112 for which the network entity 102 may support services (e.g., voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, etc. ) for one or more UEs 104 within the geographic coverage area 112. For example, a network entity 102 and a UE 104 may support wireless communication of signals related to services (e.g., voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, etc. ) according to one or multiple radio access technologies. In some implementations, a network entity 102 may be moveable, for example, a satellite associated with a non-terrestrial network. In some implementations, different geographic coverage areas 112 associated with the same or different radio access technologies may overlap, but the different geographic coverage areas 112 may be associated with different network entities 102. Information and signals described herein may be represented using any of a variety of different technologies and techniques. For example, data, instructions, commands, information, signals, bits, symbols, and chips that may be referenced throughout the  description may be represented by voltages, currents, electromagnetic waves, magnetic fields or particles, optical fields or particles, or any combination thereof.

[0073] The one or more UEs 104 may be dispersed throughout a geographic region of the wireless communications system 100. A UE 104 may include or may be referred to as a mobile device, a wireless device, a remote device, a remote unit, a handheld device, or a subscriber device, or some other suitable terminology. In some implementations, the UE 104 may be referred to as a unit, a station, a terminal, or a client, among other examples. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE 104 may be referred to as an Internet-of-Things (IoT) device, an Internet-of-Everything (IoE) device, or machine-type communication (MTC) device, among other examples. In some implementations, a UE 104 may be stationary in the wireless communications system 100. In some other implementations, a UE 104 may be mobile in the wireless communications system 100.

[0074] The one or more UEs 104 may be devices in different forms or having different capabilities. Some examples of UEs 104 are illustrated in FIG. 1A. A UE 104 may be capable of communicating with various types of devices, such as the network entities 102, other UEs 104, or network equipment (e.g., the core network 106, the packet data network 108, a relay device, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node, or another network equipment) , as shown in FIG. 1A. Additionally, or alternatively, a UE 104 may support communication with other network entities 102 or UEs 104, which may act as relays in the wireless communications system 100.

[0075] A UE 104 may also be able to support wireless communication directly with other UEs 104 over a communication link 114. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a device-to-device (D2D) communication link. In some implementations, such as vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) deployments, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) deployments, or cellular-V2X deployments, the communication link 114 may be referred to as a sidelink. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a PC5 interface.

[0076] A network entity 102 may support communications with the core network 106, or with another network entity 102, or both. For example, a network entity 102 may interface with the core network 106 through one or more backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an S1, N2, N2, or another network interface) . The network entities 102 may communicate with each other over the backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an X2, Xn, or another network  interface) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 may communicate with each other directly (e.g., between the network entities 102) . In some other implementations, the network entities 102 may communicate with each other or indirectly (e.g., via the core network 106) . In some implementations, one or more network entities 102 may include subcomponents, such as an access network entity, which may be an example of an access node controller (ANC) . An ANC may communicate with the one or more UEs 104 through one or more other access network transmission entities, which may be referred to as a radio heads, smart radio heads, or transmission-reception points (TRPs) .

[0077] In some implementations, a network entity 102 may be configured in a disaggregated architecture, which may be configured to utilize a protocol stack physically or logically distributed among two or more network entities 102, such as an integrated access backhaul (IAB) network, an open RAN (O-RAN) (e.g., a network configuration sponsored by the O-RAN Alliance) , or a virtualized RAN (vRAN) (e.g., a cloud RAN (C-RAN) ) . For example, a network entity 102 may include one or more of a central unit (CU) , a distributed unit (DU) , a radio unit (RU) , a RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC) (e.g., a Near-Real Time RIC (Near-RT RIC) , a Non-Real Time RIC (Non-RT RIC) ) , a Service Management and Orchestration (SMO) system, or any combination thereof.

[0078] An RU may also be referred to as a radio head, a smart radio head, a remote radio head (RRH) , a remote radio unit (RRU) , or a transmission reception point (TRP) . One or more components of the network entities 102 in a disaggregated RAN architecture may be co-located, or one or more components of the network entities 102 may be located in distributed locations (e.g., separate physical locations) . In some implementations, one or more network entities 102 of a disaggregated RAN architecture may be implemented as virtual units (e.g., a virtual CU (VCU) , a virtual DU (VDU) , a virtual RU (VRU) ) .

[0079] Split of functionality between a CU, a DU, and an RU may be flexible and may support different functionalities depending upon which functions (e.g., network layer functions, protocol layer functions, baseband functions, radio frequency functions, and any combinations thereof) are performed at a CU, a DU, or an RU. For example, a functional split of a protocol stack may be employed between a CU and a DU such that the CU may support one or more layers of the protocol stack and the DU may support one or more different layers of the protocol stack. In some implementations, the CU may host  upper protocol layer (e.g., a layer 3 (L3) , a layer 2 (L2) ) functionality and signaling (e.g., Radio Resource Control (RRC) , service data adaption protocol (SDAP) , Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) ) . The CU may be connected to one or more DUs or RUs, and the one or more DUs or RUs may host lower protocol layers, such as a layer 1 (L1) (e.g., physical (PHY) layer) or an L2 (e.g., radio link control (RLC) layer, medium access control (MAC) layer) functionality and signaling, and may each be at least partially controlled by the CU.

[0080] Additionally, or alternatively, a functional split of the protocol stack may be employed between a DU and an RU such that the DU may support one or more layers of the protocol stack and the RU may support one or more different layers of the protocol stack. The DU may support one or multiple different cells (e.g., via one or more RUs) . In some implementations, a functional split between a CU and a DU, or between a DU and an RU may be within a protocol layer (e.g., some functions for a protocol layer may be performed by one of a CU, a DU, or an RU, while other functions of the protocol layer are performed by a different one of the CU, the DU, or the RU) .

[0081] A CU may be functionally split further into CU control plane (CU-CP) and CU user plane (CU-UP) functions. A CU may be connected to one or more DUs via a midhaul communication link (e.g., F1, F1-c, F1-u) , and a DU may be connected to one or more RUs via a fronthaul communication link (e.g., open fronthaul (FH) interface) . In some implementations, a midhaul communication link or a fronthaul communication link may be implemented in accordance with an interface (e.g., a channel) between layers of a protocol stack supported by respective network entities 102 that are in communication via such communication links.

[0082] The core network 106 may support user authentication, access authorization, tracking, connectivity, and other access, routing, or mobility functions. The core network 106 may be an evolved packet core (EPC) , or a 5G core (5GC) , which may include a control plane entity that manages access and mobility (e.g., a mobility management entity (MME) , an access and mobility management functions (AMF) ) and a user plane entity that routes packets or interconnects to external networks (e.g., a serving gateway (S-GW) , a Packet Data Network (PDN) gateway (P-GW) , or a user plane function (UPF) ) . In some implementations, the control plane entity may manage non-access stratum (NAS) functions, such as mobility, authentication, and bearer management (e.g., data bearers,  signal bearers, etc. ) for the one or more UEs 104 served by the one or more network entities 102 associated with the core network 106.

[0083] The core network 106 may communicate with the packet data network 108 over one or more backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an S1, N2, N2, or another network interface) . The packet data network 108 may include an application server 118. In some implementations, one or more UEs 104 may communicate with the application server 118. A UE 104 may establish a session (e.g., a protocol data unit (PDU) session, or the like) with the core network 106 via a network entity 102. The core network 106 may route traffic (e.g., control information, data, and the like) between the UE 104 and the application server 118 using the established session (e.g., the established PDU session) . The PDU session may be an example of a logical connection between the UE 104 and the core network 106 (e.g., one or more network functions of the core network 106) .

[0084] In the wireless communications system 100, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may use resources of the wireless communications system 100 (e.g., time resources (e.g., symbols, slots, subframes, frames, or the like) or frequency resources (e.g., subcarriers, carriers) ) to perform various operations (e.g., wireless communications) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support different resource structures. For example, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support different frame structures. In some implementations, such as in 4G, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support a single frame structure. In some other implementations, such as in 5G and among other suitable radio access technologies, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures (i.e., multiple frame structures) . The network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures based on one or more numerologies.

[0085] One or more numerologies may be supported in the wireless communications system 100, and a numerology may include a subcarrier spacing and a cyclic prefix. A first numerology (e.g., μ=0) may be associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. In some implementations, the first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with the first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may utilize one slot per subframe. A second numerology (e.g., μ=1) may be associated with a second subcarrier spacing (e.g., 30 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A third numerology (e.g., μ=2) may be associated with a third subcarrier spacing (e.g., 60 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix or an  extended cyclic prefix. A fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) may be associated with a fourth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 120 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A fifth numerology (e.g., μ=4) may be associated with a fifth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 240 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix.

[0086] A time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to frames (also referred to as radio frames) . Each frame may have a duration, for example, a 10 millisecond (ms) duration. In some implementations, each frame may include multiple subframes. For example, each frame may include 10 subframes, and each subframe may have a duration, for example, a 1 ms duration. In some implementations, each frame may have the same duration. In some implementations, each subframe of a frame may have the same duration.

[0087] Additionally or alternatively, a time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to slots. For example, a subframe may include a number (e.g., quantity) of slots. The number of slots in each subframe may also depend on the one or more numerologies supported in the wireless communications system 100. For instance, the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth numerologies (i.e., μ=0, μ=1, μ=2, μ=3, μ=4) associated with respective subcarrier spacings of 15 kHz, 30 kHz, 60 kHz, 120 kHz, and 240 kHz may utilize a single slot per subframe, two slots per subframe, four slots per subframe, eight slots per subframe, and 16 slots per subframe, respectively. Each slot may include a number (e.g., quantity) of symbols (e.g., OFDM symbols) . In some implementations, the number (e.g., quantity) of slots for a subframe may depend on a numerology. For a normal cyclic prefix, a slot may include 14 symbols. For an extended cyclic prefix (e.g., applicable for 60 kHz subcarrier spacing) , a slot may include 12 symbols. The relationship between the number of symbols per slot, the number of slots per subframe, and the number of slots per frame for a normal cyclic prefix and an extended cyclic prefix may depend on a numerology. It should be understood that reference to a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may be used interchangeably between subframes and slots.

[0088] In the wireless communications system 100, an electromagnetic (EM) spectrum may be split, based on frequency or wavelength, into various classes, frequency bands, frequency channels, etc. By way of example, the wireless communications system 100 may support one or multiple operating frequency bands, such as frequency range  designations FR1 (410 MHz –7.125 GHz) , FR2 (24.25 GHz –52.6 GHz) , FR3 (7.125 GHz –24.25 GHz) , FR4 (52.6 GHz –114.25 GHz) , FR4a or FR4-1 (52.6 GHz –71 GHz) , and FR5 (114.25 GHz –300 GHz) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may perform wireless communications over one or more of the operating frequency bands. In some implementations, FR1 may be used by the network entities 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for cellular communications traffic (e.g., control information, data) . In some implementations, FR2 may be used by the network entities 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for short-range, high data rate capabilities.

[0089] FR1 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least three numerologies) . For example, FR1 may be associated with a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) , which includes 15 kHz subcarrier spacing; a second numerology (e.g., μ=1) , which includes 30 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing. FR2 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least 2 numerologies) . For example, FR2 may be associated with a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) , which includes 120 kHz subcarrier spacing.

[0090] For a UE configured by the higher layer parameter repetitionScheme set to 'fdmSchemeA' or 'fdmSchemeB' , and when the UE not configured with dl-OrJointTCI-StateList is indicated with two TCI states in a codepoint of the DCI field 'Transmission Configuration Indication' , or when the UE configured with dl-OrJointTCI-StateList is having two indicated TCI States to be applied to PDSCH, and the UE is indicated with DM-RS port (s) within one CDM group in the DCI field 'Antenna Port (s) ' , if P′BWP, i is determined as "wideband" , the first PRBs are assigned to the first TCI state and the remaining PRBs are assigned to the second TCI state, where nPRB is the total number of allocated PRBs for the UE.

[0091] FIG. 1B illustrates an example of assigning resources allocated for PDSCH transmission to two TCI states in related solutions. In the example shown in FIG. 1B, nPRB PRBs are allocated for the PDSCH transmission and the precoding granularity is determined as wideband. Thus, the nPRB PRBs are divided into two subsets of PRBs 121 and 122 in frequency domain. The first subset of PRBs 121 includes continuous  PRBs starting from the PRB with the lowest frequency domain position in the allocated resources. The first subsets of PRBs 121 is assigned to the first TCI state TCI1 and the second subsets of PRBs 122 is assigned to the second TCI state TCI2. For the higher layer parameter repetitionScheme set to 'fdmSchemeA' , one PDSCH transmission received on the nPRB PRBs based on an assumption that TCI 1 is applied to the first subset of PRBs 121 and the TCI 2 is applied to the second subset of PRBs 122. For the higher layer parameter repetitionScheme set to 'fdmSchemeB' , one PDSCH transmission with two repetitions could be received on the nPRB PRBs based on an assumption that first PDSCH repetition is in the first subset of PRBs 121 associated with TCI1, and the second PDSCH repetition is the second subset of PRBs 122 associated with TCI2.

[0092] For a UE configured by the higher layer parameter repetitionScheme set to 'fdmSchemeA' or 'fdmSchemeB' , and when the UE not configured with dl-OrJointTCI-StateList is indicated with two TCI states in a codepoint of the DCI field 'Transmission Configuration Indication' , or when the UE configured with dl-OrJointTCI-StateList is having two indicated TCI States to be applied to PDSCH, and the UE is indicated with DM-RS port (s) within one CDM group in the DCI field 'Antenna Port (s) ' , if P′BWP, i is determined as one of the values among {2, 4} , even-numbered PRGs within the allocated frequency domain resources are assigned to the first TCI state and odd-numbered PRGs within the allocated frequency domain resources are assigned to the second TCI state, wherein the PRGs are numbered continuously in increasing order with the first PRG index equal to zero.

[0093] FIG. 1C illustrates another example of assigning resources allocated for PDSCH transmission to two TCI states in related solutions. In the example shown in FIG. 1C, nPRB PRBs are allocated for the PDSCH transmission and the precoding granularity is determined as non-wideband (e.g., P′BWP, i=2, or P′BWP, i=4) . In the bandwidth part i, each of the middle PRGs includes P′BWP, i consecutive PRBs. The size of the first PRG is given by The size of the last PRG is given by if or the size of the last PRG is P′BWP, i if The PRGs 130, 131, 132, 133, 134 and 135 are indicated to the UE, and numbered continuously in increasing order with the index of the first PRG 130 being zero. The even-numbered PRGs (i.e., PRG0 130, PRG2 132 and  PRG4 134) are assigned to the first TCI state TCI1 and the odd-numbered PRGs (i.e., PRG1 131, PRG3 133 and PRG5 135) are assigned to the second TCI state TCI2.

[0094] The UE is not expected to receive more than two PDSCH transmission layers for each PDSCH transmission occasion.

[0095] For a UE configured by the higher layer parameter repetitionScheme set to 'fdmSchemeB' , and when the UE not configured with dl-OrJointTCI-StateList is indicated with two TCI states in a codepoint of the DCI field 'Transmission Configuration Indication' , or when the UE configured with dl-OrJointTCI-StateList is having two indicated TCI States to be applied to PDSCH, and the UE is indicated with DM-RS port (s) within one CDM group in the DCI field 'Antenna Port (s) ' , each PDSCH transmission occasion is mapped to resource elements determined by the assigned PRBs for corresponding TCI state of the PDSCH transmission occasion, and the UE shall only expect at most two code blocks per PDSCH transmission occasion when a single transmission layer is scheduled and a single code block per PDSCH transmission occasion when two transmission layers are scheduled. For two PDSCH transmission occasions, the redundancy version (RV) to be applied is derived according to Table 1, where n=0, 1 are applied to the first and second TCI state, respectively.

[0096] Table 1 Applied RV when pdsch-AggregationFactor or repetitionNumber is present

[0097] For example, if rvid is indicated as 2, then corresponding RV for TCI1 is RV 2 and corresponding RV for TCI2 is RV 3.

[0098] For decoding the data, the UE should calculate the TB size (TBS) of the PDSCH transmission. Basically, the TBS is determined by the indicated resource and the indicated modulation and coding scheme (MCS) .

[0099] For a UE configured with the higher layer parameter repetitionScheme set to 'fdmSchemeB' , and when the UE not configured with dl-OrJointTCI-StateList is indicated with two TCI states in a codepoint of the DCI field 'Transmission Configuration Indication' , or when the UE configured with dl-OrJointTCI-StateList is having two indicated TCI States to be applied to PDSCH, and the UE is indicated with DM-RS port (s) within one CDM group in the DCI field 'Antenna Port (s) ' , the TBS determination follows the steps 1-4 in Clause 5.1.3.2 of 3GPP TS 38.214 with the following modification in step 1: a UE determines the total number of REs allocated for PDSCH (NRE) by NRE=min(156, N′RE ) ·nPRB, where nPRB is the total number of allocated PRBs corresponding to the first TCI state, and the determined TBS of PDSCH transmission occasion associated with the first TCI state is also applied to the PDSCH transmission occasion associated with the second TCI state. Steps 1-4 with the modification in step 1 are as follows.

[0100] Step 1: The UE shall first determine the number of REs (NRE) within the slot.

[0101] - A UE first determines the number of REs allocated for PDSCH within a PRB (N'RE) by where is the number of subcarriers in a physical resource block,  is the number of symbols of the PDSCH allocation within the slot,  is the number of REs for DM-RS per PRB in the scheduled duration including the overhead of the DM-RS CDM groups without data, as indicated by DCI format 1_1, 1_2 or 1_3 or as described for format 1_0 in Clause 5.1.6.2 of TS 38.214, and is the overhead configured by higher layer parameter xOverhead in PDSCH-ServingCellConfig. If the xOverhead in PDSCH-ServingCellconfig is not configured (avalue from 6, 12, or 18) , the is set to 0. If the PDSCH is scheduled by PDCCH with a CRC scrambled by SI-RNTI, RA-RNTI, MSGB-RNTI or P-RNTI,  is assumed to be 0. If the PDSCH is scheduled by PDCCH with a CRC scrambled by G-RNTI for multicast or G-CS-RNTI or PDSCH without PDCCH is activated by PDCCH with a CRC scrambled by G-CS-RNTI,  is the overhead configured by higher layer parameter xOverhead-Multicast in pdsch-ConfigMulticast. If the xOverhead-Multicast in pdsch-ConfigMulticast is not  configured, the is set to 0. If the PDSCH is scheduled by PDCCH with a CRC scrambled by G-RNTI for broadcast or MCCH-RNTI,  is the overhead configured by higher layer parameter xOverhead in pdsch-ConfigBroadcast. If the xOverhead in pdsch-ConfigBroadcast is not configured, the is set to 0.

[0102] - A UE determines the total number of REs allocated for PDSCH (NRE) by NRE=min (156, N'RE) ·nPRB, where nPRB is the total number of allocated PRBs for the UE.

[0103] Step 2: Unquantized intermediate variable (Ninfo) is obtained by Ninfo=NRE·R·Qm·υ.

[0104] If Ninfo≤3824

[0105] Use step 3 as the next step of the TBS determination

[0106] else

[0107] Use step 4 as the next step of the TBS determination

[0108] end if.

[0109] Step 3: When Ninfo≤3824, TBS is determined as follows:

[0110] - quantized intermediate number of information bits where

[0111] - use Table 2 to find the closest TBS that is not less than N′info.

[0112] Table 2 TBS for Ninfo≤3824

[0113] Step 4: When Ninfo>3824, TBS is determined as follows.

[0114] - quantized intermediate number of information bits where and ties in the round function are broken towards the next largest integer.

[0115] - if R≤1 / 4

[0116] else

[0117] if N′info>8424

[0118] else

[0119] end if

[0120] end if

[0121] else if Table 3 is used and 28≤IMCS≤31,

[0122] - the TBS is assumed to be as determined from the DCI transported in the latest PDCCH for the same transport block using 0≤IMCS≤27. If there is no PDCCH for the same transport block using 0≤IMCS≤27, and if the initial PDSCH for the same transport block is semi-persistently scheduled, the TBS shall be determined from the most recent semi-persistent scheduling assignment PDCCH.

[0123] else if Table 4 is used and 27≤IMCS≤31,

[0124] - the TBS is assumed to be as determined from the DCI transported in the latest PDCCH for the same transport block using 0≤IMCS≤26. If there is no PDCCH for the same transport block using 0≤IMCS≤26, and if the initial PDSCH for the same transport block is semi-persistently scheduled, the TBS shall be determined from the most recent semi-persistent scheduling assignment PDCCH.

[0125] else

[0126] - the TBS is assumed to be as determined from the DCI transported in the latest PDCCH for the same transport block using 0≤IMCS≤28. If there is no PDCCH for the same transport block using0≤IMCS≤28, and if the initial PDSCH for the same transport block is semi-persistently scheduled, the TBS shall be determined from the most recent semi-persistent scheduling assignment PDCCH.

[0129] In another aspect, a UE may be configured with a frequency domain location and bandwidth for MBS multicast per BWP. The first PRB is a PRB determined by subcarrierSpacing of the associated BWP and offsetToCarrier corresponding to this subcarrier spacing. If not configured, the UE may apply the value of locationAndBandwidth of the DL BWP in which the cfr-ConfigMulticast is configured.

[0130] For a non-SBFD aware UE or in non-SBFD symbols, the PDCCH may schedule the MBS PDSCH located at the CFR, and the frequency domain resource is interpreted in the range of the CFR.

[0131] In a first example, the PDCCH could include a bitmap is of size NRBG bits with one bitmap bit per resource block group (RBG) such that each RBG is addressable. The RBGs shall be indexed in the order of increasing frequency and starting at the lowest frequency of the bandwidth part. The order of RBG bitmap is such that RBG0 to  are mapped from most significant bit (MSB) to least significant bit (LSB) . The RBG is allocated to the UE if the corresponding bit value in the bitmap is 1; otherwise, the RBG is not allocated to the UE.

[0132] The total number of RBGs (NRBG) for a downlink bandwidth part i of size  PRBs is given by where the size of the first RBG is the size of last RBG is if and P otherwise; the size of all other RBGs is P.

[0133] In downlink resource allocation of type 0 scheduled using a DCI with CRC scrambled by G-RNTI for multicast or G-CS-RNTI, the resource block assignment information bitmap is calculated based on the description above with the following changes: the parameter is the starting PRB of the CFR,  is the size of the  common frequency resource (CFR) and the value of the higher layer parameter rbg-Size is configured by pdsch-ConfigMulticast.

[0134] In a second example, the PDCCH may include a downlink type 1 resource block assignment field in the DCI format 4_0 or DCI format 4_1 consists of a RIV corresponding to a starting resource block in reference to the lowest RB of the CFR  and a length in terms of virtually contiguously allocated resource blocks LRBs, where is given by the size of CORESET 0 if CORESET 0 is configured for the cell; or the size of initial DL bandwidth part if CORESET 0 is not configured for the cell. The resource indication value is defined by: if then else  where L'RBs=LRBs / K , RB'start=RBstart / K and where L'RBs shall not exceed If K is the maximum value from set {1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12} which satisfies otherwise K = 1.

[0135] In a third example, the PDCCH may include a downlink type 1 resource block assignment field in the DCI format 4_2 with CRC scrambled by G-RNTI for multicast or G-CS-RNTI, a downlink type 1 resource allocation field consists of a resource indication value (RIV) corresponding to a starting virtual resource block (RBstart) and a length in terms of contiguously allocated resource blocks (LRBs) . The resource indication value is defined by: if then else  whereLRBs≥ 1 and shall not exceed corresponds to a starting resource block in reference to the lowest RB of the CFR and is the size of the CFR.

[0136] As mentioned above, in order to realize the superior data rate and latency, 5G spectrum on higher frequency band is inevitable. To overcome the coverage reduction on such carriers, a duplexing scheme (referred to as a SBFD scheme) is to be introduced so as to enable simultaneous use of downlink and uplink within a TDD carrier using non-overlapped frequency resource. The intention of this scheme is to extend the duration over which uplink transmission could occur for improved the uplink coverage and capacity. The simultaneous use of DL and UL is only at the base station side and not at  the UE side. An example of a duplexing scheme could be seen in FIG. 1D. In the example of FIG. 1D, two downlink (DL) subbands are duplexed with an uplink (UL) subband in slot #0 and slot #1. The UL subband could be configured, and the SBFD symbol / slot could be configured in a DL symbol / slot or a flexible symbol / slot configured by TDD-UL-DL-ConfigCommon.

[0137] There may be multiple symbol formats in a system adopting the subband full duplex scheme. The symbol formats include DL, flexible, SBFD, and UL. For example, a DL or UL symbol may mean that the transmission direction on this symbol is DL or UL. For example, a flexible symbol may mean that a UE cannot make any assumptions on the transmission direction of this symbol. For example, an SBFD symbol may mean that this symbol can support simultaneous DL and UL transmissions in gNB side. For example, a symbol being SBFD may mean the symbol being indicated as DL with a UL frequency region or a UL subband; the symbol being indicated as flexible with a UL frequency region or a UL subband; or the symbol being indicated as flexible and a DL reception and a UL reception being configured to be performed in the symbol simultaneously (e.g., configured by a BS for a UE) . For example, an SBFD symbol may include a UL frequency domain resource or UL subband and be initially indicated or configured by a high layer configuration or an SFI from a BS as downlink or flexible (for example, there could be at least two subbands or frequency domain regions with different transmission directions in this symbol) . For example, a BS may simultaneously perform a DL transmission and a UL reception in an SBFD symbol while a UE can only perform a DL reception or a UL transmission. For example, an SBFD symbol may be configured with a UL subband, a DL subband, a flexible subband or any combination thereof. For example, an SBFD symbol may include a UL subband configuration. A slot format being SBFD may mean that a slot includes only SBFD symbol or some SBFD symbols. A slot format being SBFD could be named as a SBFD slot. Non-SBFD symbol or slot are not SBFD symbol / slot, or in other words, DL / UL / Flexible symbol or slot without UL subband configurations, or without SBFD configuration, or not configured as SBFD symbol or slot.

[0138] If there is a configuration to configure the DL subband and UL subband in a cell, the intersection between DL BWP and DL subband could be named as DL usable PRBs, and the intersection between UL BWP and UL subband could be named as UL usable PRBs. In other words, a DL usable PRB is a RB in a DL BWP and also in the  configured DL subband; and a UL usable PRB is a RB in a UL BWP and also in the configured UL subband. For a PDSCH transmission, the indicated resources by starting RB and RB number might be overlapped with the UL subband, or will fall outside of the DL usable PRBS.

[0139] The following agreements are reached on how to schedule PDSCH in single TPR case or PDSCH repetition in time domain.

[0140] Studies on the FDM PDSCH repetition in multiple TPRs are also needed when the indicated PDSCH resource are overlapped with the UL subband, or fall outside of the DL usable PRBS. In addition, studies on MBS PDSCH transmission in SBFD scheme are also needed when the CFR are overlapped with the UL subband, or will outside of the DL usable PRBS. Some example embodiments of the present disclosure will be illustrated in regard to various specific aspects.

[0141] In a first aspect, for a UE configured by the higher layer parameter repetitionScheme set to 'fdmSchemeA' or 'fdmSchemeB' , and when the UE not configured with dl-OrJointTCI-StateList is indicated with two TCI states in a codepoint of the DCI field 'Transmission Configuration Indication' , or when the UE configured with dl-OrJointTCI-StateList is having two indicated TCI States to be applied to PDSCH, and the UE is indicated with DM-RS port (s) within one CDM group in the DCI field 'Antenna Port (s) ' , and the indicated PDSCH resource would also fall outside of the DL usable PRBs, then how to determine the PRBs associated with each TCI and how to decide the TBS for each PDSCH transmission occasion associated with each TCI should be studied.  Some example embodiments of the present disclosure provide solutions on PDSCH transmission in SBFD symbols / slots.

[0142] Reference is now made to FIG. 2, which illustrates an example signaling chart of a communication process that supports PDSCH transmission in SBFD symbols in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the process 200 will be described with reference to FIG. 1A. The process 200 may involve the UE 104 and the base station 102. It is to be understood that the steps and the order of the steps in FIG. 2 are merely for illustration, and not for limitation. It is to be understood that process 200 may further include additional blocks not shown and / or omit some shown blocks, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard.

[0143] As shown in FIG. 2, the base station 102 transmits (202) an indication 204 of allocated resources for a PDSCH transmission 214 to the UE 104. The allocated resources for the PDSCH transmission 214 are located in SBFD symbols. The UE 104 receives (206) the indication 204 of the allocated resources from the base station 102. The UE 104 determines (208) a first TCI state and a second TCI state to be applied to the PDSCH transmission 214. Similarly, the base station 102 determines (210) the first TCI state and the second TCI state to be applied to the PDSCH transmission 214. The base station 102 transmits (212) the PDSCH transmission 214 in a first subset of resources associated with the first TCI state and a second subset of resources associated with the second TCI state to the UE 104. Accordingly, the UE 104 receives (216) the PDSCH transmission 214 in the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources. The first subset of resources and the second subset of resources are determined based on frequency domain locations of the allocated resources and a precoding granularity of the PDSCH transmission 214.

[0144] In other words, the UE 104 may receive an indication indicating resources in frequency domain and in time domain allocated for a PDSCH transmission. In some embodiments, the indication of the allocated resources may be carried in DCI scheduling the PDSCH transmission. The UE 104 may determine two TCI states to be applied to the PDSCH transmission and may determine the frequency domain resource of the PDSCH occasion associated with each TCI state based on the allocated frequency domain resource  and a precoding granularity. In some embodiments, an indication of the precoding granularity of the PDSCH transmission 214 may be carried in a RRC signaling.

[0145] If the time domain resource of the PDSCH transmission is located in non-SBFD symbols / slots, the frequency domain resource of the PDSCH occasion associated with each TCI state may be determined as in the example of FIGS. 1B and 1C.

[0146] If the time domain resource of the PDSCH transmission are located in SBFD symbols / slots, the frequency domain resource of the PDSCH occasion associated with each TCI state may be determined from valid PRBs among the allocated resources. The valid PRBs are PRBs in DL available PRBs, the DL available PRBs are PRBS in an intersection of a DL BWP and at least one configured DL subband. As used herein, the terms “PRBs” and “RBs” may be used interchangeably, and the terms “DL available PRBs” and “DL usable PRBs” may be used interchangeably. In some implementations, the valid PRBs are located in one DL subband. In other words, the valid PRBs are contiguous frequency domain resources. Alternatively, frequency domain resources non-contiguous across two DL subbands but contiguous within each DL subband can be allocated, and valid RBs may be located across two DL subbands and are contiguous within each DL subband. For each TCI state, only the assigned PRBs within DL usable PRBs are considered to be valid for PDSCH transmission. Assigned PRBs that fall outside DL usable PRBs are considered to be invalid and should not be used for PDSCH resource mapping.

[0147] In some embodiments, the precoding granularity may be a wideband granularity. The UE 102 may determine a first subset of PRBs and a second subset of PRBs in the allocated resources. The first subset of PRBs may include a first portion of PRBs in frequency domain in the allocated resources. It should be understood that the first portion of PRBs in frequency domain of the allocated resources refers to multiple PRBs starting from the PRB with the lowest frequency domain position in the allocated resources. The first subset of resources associated with the first TCI state may include valid PRBs in the first subset of PRBs. The second subset of PRBs may include remaining PRBs in frequency domain in the allocated resources. The second subset of resources associated with the second TCI state may include valid PRBs in the second subset of PRBs. In other words, the first PRBs among the allocated frequency domain resource may be assigned to the first TCI state and the remaining PRBs among the  allocated frequency domain resource may be assigned to the second TCI state, where nPRB is the total number of allocated PRBs of the allocated frequency domain resource. For each TCI state, only the assigned PRBs within DL usable PRBs are considered to be valid for PDSCH transmission. Assigned PRBs that fall outside DL usable PRBs are considered to be invalid and should not be used for PDSCH resource mapping. In this way, there is less update on the PRB determination for each TCI state, and the UE complexity may be decreased.

[0148] FIG. 3A illustrates an example of assigning resources allocated for PDSCH transmission to two TCI states in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. In the example in FIG. 3A, the allocated frequency domain resources 310 for PDSCH transmission are divided into resources 311 and resources 312. The resources 311 are assigned to the first TCI state TCI1 and the resources 312 are assigned to the second TCI state TCI2. If the PDSCH transmission is transmitted in SBFD symbols / slots, only valid PRBs 311’ in the resources 311 are used for the PDSCH transmission using the TCI1 and only valid PRBs 312’ in the resources 312 are used for the PDSCH transmission using the TCI2.

[0149] Turning back to FIG. 2, in some embodiments, when receiving the PDSCH transmission 214 in the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources, the UE 104 may receive the PDSCH transmission 214 in a single transmission occasion associated with the first TCI state and the second TCI state. The UE 104 may determine a TBS of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a total number of PRBs in the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources. In other words, for fdmSchemeA, the UE 104 may determine the TBS according to the total number of valid PRBs in the allocated resources. Referring to FIG. 3A, if the PDSCH transmission is transmitted in SBFD symbols / slots, for fdmSchemeA, the UE 104 may determine the TBS according to the total number of valid PRBs 311’ and valid PRBs 312’.

[0150] In some embodiments, when receiving the PDSCH transmission 214, the UE 104 may receive repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 from the base station 102 in the first subset of resources associated with the first TCI state and the second subset of resources associated with the second TCI state. The UE may determine a subset of resources from the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources. In other  words, for fdmSchemeB, the UE 104 may determine the TBS according to the number of valid PRBs in the allocated resources assigned to one TCI state.

[0151] In some examples, the UE 104 may determine a TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources. In other words, the UE 104 may determine a TCI state among the first TCI state and the second TCI state and determine the TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of valid PRBs assigned to the determined TCI state.

[0152] Alternatively, the UE 104 may determine a TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources if the number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources is non-zero. The UE 104 may determine the TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in a number of PRBs in the other subset of resources except the determined subset of resources among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources if the number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources is zero. In other words, if the number of valid PRBs assigned the determined TCI state is zero, the UE 104 may determine the TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of valid PRBs assigned to the other TCI state; otherwise, the UE 104 may determine the TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of valid PRBs assigned to the determined TCI state.

[0153] Alternatively, the UE 104 may determine a TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources if an effective cade rate for the other subset of resources among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources is no larger than a threshold. The UE 104 may determine the TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in a number of PRBs in the other subset of resources except the determined subset of resources among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources if the effective cade rate for the other subset of resources among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources is larger than the threshold. In other words, if the effective cade rate for the other TCI state is larger than a predefined or a configured threshold, the UE 104 may determine the TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of valid PRBs assigned to the other TCI state;  otherwise, the UE 104 may determine the TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of valid PRBs assigned to the determined TCI state.

[0154] Alternatively, the UE 104 may determine a TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources if the number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources is non-zero and if an effective cade rate for the other subset of resources among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources is no larger than a threshold. The UE 104 may determine the TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in a number of PRBs in the other subset of resources except the determined subset of resources among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources if the number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources is zero or if the effective cade rate for the other subset of resources among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources is larger than the threshold. In other words, if the number of valid PRBs assigned the determined TCI state is zero or if the effective cade rate for the other TCI state is larger than a predefined or a configured threshold, the UE 104 may determine the TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of valid PRBs assigned to the other TCI state; otherwise, the UE 104 may determine the TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of valid PRBs assigned to the determined TCI state.

[0155] Some example options for determining the subset of resources or determining the TCI state are illustrated hereinafter without suggesting any limitation.

[0156] In a first example option, the determined subset of resources may be a subset of resources comprising more PRBs, among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources. In other words, the determined TCI state is the TCI state associated with more valid PRBs among the first TCI state and the second TCI state. In some implementations, the number of PRBs for TBS determination for PDSCH transmission associated with each TCI state is based on the valid PRBs assigned to a determined TCI state, wherein the determined TCI state is the TCI state associated with more valid PRBs. Alternatively, if the effective cade rate for the TCI state associated with less valid PRBs is larger than a threshold, then the PDSCH transmission is cancelled for the TCI state associated with less valid PRBs. Alternatively, if the effective cade rate for the TCI state associated with less valid PRBs is larger than a threshold, the number of PRBs for TBS  determination for PDSCH transmission associated with each TCI state is based on the valid PRBs assigned to the TCI state associated with less valid PRBs.

[0157] Referring to FIG. 3A, for example, if the allocated frequency domain resource 310 includes ten PRBs, then first five RBs are assigned to TCI1 and the remaining five PRBs are assigned to TCI2. That is, both the resources 311 and the resources 312 include five PRBs in frequency domain. For TCI1, one PRB is outside the DL usable PRBs, so only four PRBs in frequency domain may be used for PDSCH mapping. For TCI2, two PRBs are outside the DL usable PRBs, so only three PRBs in frequency domain may be used for PDSCH mapping. The resources 311’ assigned to TCI1 includes more valid ROs than the resources 312’ assigned to TCI2. In some implementations, the number of PRBs for TBS determination for PDSCH transmission associated with each TCI state may be based on the number of valid PRBs in the resources 311’. Alternatively, if the effective cade rate for TCI2 is larger than a threshold, then the PDSCH transmission is cancelled for TCI2. Alternatively, if effective cade rate for TCI2 is larger than a threshold, the number of PRBs for TBS determination for PDSCH transmission associated with each TCI state is based on the number of valid PRBs in the resources 312’. In this way, the TBS may be determined based on more valid PRBs, and avoid the case that when there are zero valid PRBs for TCI1, and the UE can’ t calculate the TBS for TCI2.

[0158] Turning back to FIG. 2, in a second example option, the determined subset of resources may be a subset of resources, among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources, corresponding to a redundancy version (RV) that can be self-decoded among a first RV and a second RV of the PDSCH transmission 214, wherein the first RV of the PDSCH transmission 214 is associated with the first TCI state and the second RV of the PDSCH transmission 214 is associated with the second TCI state. In other words, the determined TCI state is a TCI state corresponding to a RV that may be self-decoded, such as RV 0 or RV 3. In some implementations, the number of PRBs for TBS determination for PDSCH transmission associated with each TCI state is based on the valid PRBs associated with TCI1 / TCI2 corresponding to a RV that may be self-decoded, such as RV 0 or RV 3. If the effective cade rate for the other TCI state (corresponding to RV 1 or RV 2) , then the PDSCH transmission is cancelled for that TCI state.

[0159] Referring to FIG. 3A, for example, if the allocated frequency domain resource 310 includes ten PRBs, then first five RBs are assigned to TCI1 and the remaining five  PRBs are assigned to TCI2. If the corresponding RV of TCI1 is RV 0 or RV 3, the number of PRBs for TBS determination for PDSCH transmission associated with each TCI state may be based on the number of valid PRBs in the resources 311’ and in the case that the effective cade rate for TCI2 is larger than a threshold, then the PDSCH transmission is cancelled for TCI2. If the corresponding RV of TCI2 is RV 0 or RV 3, the number of PRBs for TBS determination for PDSCH transmission associated with each TCI state may be based on the number of valid PRBs in the resources 312’. Alternatively, in the case that the effective cade rate for TCI1 is larger than a threshold, then the PDSCH transmission is cancelled for TCI1. In this way, the decoding reliability of self-decoding RV may be guaranteed.

[0160] Turning back to FIG. 2, in a third example option, the determined subset of resources may be a subset of resources comprising less PRBs, among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources. In other words, the determined TCI state is the TCI state associated with less valid PRBs among the first TCI state and the second TCI state. In some implementations, the number of PRBs for TBS determination for PDSCH transmission associated with each TCI state is based on the valid PRBs assigned to a determined TCI state, wherein the determined TCI state is the TCI state associated with less valid PRBs. Alternatively, if the number of valid PRBs associated with the determined TCI state is zero or is less than a threshold, the number of PRBs for TBS determination for PDSCH transmission associated with each TCI state is based on the valid PRBs assigned to the TCI state associated with more valid PRBs.

[0161] Referring to FIG. 3A, for example, if the allocated frequency domain resource 310 includes ten PRBs, then first five RBs are assigned to TCI1 and the remaining five PRBs are assigned to TCI2. The resources 312’ assigned to TCI2 includes less valid ROs than the resources 311’ assigned to TCI1. In some implementations, the number of PRBs for TBS determination for PDSCH transmission associated with each TCI state may be based on the number of valid PRBs in the resources 312’. Alternatively, if the number of valid  PRBs in the resources 312’ is zero or is less than a threshold, the number of PRBs for TBS determination for PDSCH transmission associated with each TCI state is based on the number of valid PRBs in the resources 311’. In this way, the TBS may be determined based on less valid PRBs, and the effective code rate is low for the TCI state with more valid PRBs, so the reliability may be guaranteed.

[0162] In a fourth example option, the determined subset of resources may be the first subset of resources. In other words, the determined TCI state is the first TCI state. The number of PRBs for TBS determination for PDSCH transmission associated with each TCI state is based on the valid PRBs associated with TCI1. In some implementations, if the number of valid PRBs for TCI1 is zero but the number of valid PRBs for TCI2 is larger than zero, then the TBS for TCI2 should be based on valid PRBs for TCI2. In some implementations, if the effective cade rate for TCI2 is larger than a threshold, then the TBS should be based on the valid PRBs for TCI2. In this way, there is less update on the TBS determination in the SBFD scheme, and the UE complexity may be decreased.

[0163] Turning back to FIG. 2, in some embodiments, the precoding granularity is a wideband granularity. The first subset of resources associated with the first TCI state may include first valid PRBs in frequency domain in the allocated resources, and the second subset of resources associated with the second TCI state may include remaining valid PRBs in frequency domain in the allocated resources, wherein nPRB-v is the total number of valid PRBs in frequency domain in the allocated resources. It is to be understood that the first valid PRBs in frequency domain in the allocated resources refers to valid PRBs starting from the PRB with the lowest frequency domain position in the allocated resources. FIG. 3B illustrates an example of assigning resources allocated for PDSCH transmission to two TCI states in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. In the example in FIG. 3B, the allocated frequency domain resources 310 include nPRB-v valid PRBs in frequency domain. The first valid PRBs 321 among the nPRB-v valid PRBs in allocated frequency domain resource 310 are assigned to TCI1 and the remaining valid PRBs (a combination of 322-1 and 322-2) among all the valid PRBs in allocated frequency domain resource 310 are assigned to TCI2. For fdmSchemeA, the UE 104 may determine the TBS according to the total number of valid PRBs in the allocated frequency  domain resources 310. For fdmSchemeB, the UE 104 may determine the TBS according to the number of valid PRBs in the allocated resources assigned to TCI1 in the allocated frequency domain resources 310. In this way, the PRBs for each TCI state may be same or have very little difference, which may guarantee the reliability of PUSCH transmission for each TCI state.

[0164] Turning back to FIG. 2, in some embodiments, the precoding granularity is a wideband granularity, the allocated resources may include nPRB PRBs in frequency domain which may include nPRB-v valid PRBs in frequency domain. If is larger than or equal to nPRB-v, the first subset of resources associated with the first TCI state may include all valid PRBs in the allocated resources. If is smaller than nPRB-v, the first subset of resources associated with the first TCI state may include valid PRBs in frequency domain in the allocated resources, and the second subset of resources associated with the second TCI state may include remaining valid PRBs in frequency domain in the allocated resources. In other words, the first min { nPRB-v} PRBs among the allocated frequency domain resources are assigned to the first TCI state and the remaining nPRB-v-min { nPRB-v} among the allocated frequency domain resources are assigned to the second TCI state, where nPRB is the total number of allocated PRBs of the allocated frequency domain resource, and nPRB-v is the valid total number of valid PRBs of the allocated frequency domain resource. FIG. 3C illustrates an example of assigning resources allocated for PDSCH transmission to two TCI states in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. In the example in FIG. 3C, for example the allocated frequency domain resources 310 include ten PRBs in frequency domain in which five PRBs are valid, then all the five valid PRBs are assigned to TCI1. In this way, the number of PRBs for the first TCI state may be guaranteed, which could guarantee the reliability of at least one TCI state.

[0165] Turning back to FIG. 2, in some embodiments, the precoding granularity is a non-wideband granularity. The UE 104 may determine at least one precoding resource block group (PRG) within the allocated resources. The at least one PRG is numbered continuously in an increasing order with a first PRG index being zero. The first subset of resources associated with the first TCI state may include the at least one valid PRG in a first group of PRGs, and the first group of PRGs may include at least one even-numbered PRG among the at least one PRG. The second subset of resources associated with the second TCI state may include the at least one valid PRG in a second group of PRGs, and the second group of PRGs may include at least one odd-numbered PRG among the at least one PRG. In some implementations, a PRG in the at least one PRG is a valid PRG if all PRBs in the PRG are valid PRBs. Alternatively, a PRG in the at least one PRG is a valid PRG if at least one PRB among PRBs in the PRG is a valid PRB.

[0166] In some embodiments, when receiving the PDSCH transmission 214, the UE 104 may receive repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 from the base station 102 in the first subset of resources associated with the first TCI state and the second subset of resources associated with the second TCI state. The UE may determine a subset of resources from the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources.

[0167] In some examples, the UE 104 may determine a TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources. Some example options for determining the subset of resources or determining the TCI state are illustrated hereinafter without suggesting any limitation. In a first example option, the determined subset of resources may be a subset of resources comprising more PRBs, among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources. In a second example option, the determined subset of resources may be a subset of resources, among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources, corresponding to a redundancy version (RV) that can be self-decoded among a first RV and a second RV of the PDSCH transmission 214, wherein the first RV of the PDSCH transmission 214 is associated with the first TCI state and the second RV of the PDSCH transmission 214 is associated with the second TCI state. In a third example option, the determined subset of resources may be a subset of resources comprising less PRBs, among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources. In a fourth example option, the determined subset of resources may be the first subset of resources.

[0168] Alternatively, the UE 104 may determine a TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources if the number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources is non-zero.

[0169] Alternatively, the UE 104 may determine a TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources if an effective cade rate for the other subset of resources among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources is no larger than a threshold.

[0170] Alternatively, the UE 104 may determine a TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources if the number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources is non-zero and if an effective cade rate for the other subset of resources among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources is no larger than a threshold.

[0171] FIG. 3D illustrates an example of assigning resources allocated for PDSCH transmission to two TCI states in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. In the example in FIG. 3D, the precoding granularity is 2 or 4 or other non-wideband precoding granularities, and the allocated frequency domain resources 310 is indicated for PDSCH transmission. Thus, PRGs 330, 331, 332, 333, 334 and 335 are  indicated. The PRGs 330, 331, 332, 333, 334 and 335 are numbered continuously in increasing order with the index of the first PRG in the BWP being zero. The even-numbered PRGs (i.e., PRG0 330, PRG2 332 and PRG4 334) are assigned to TCI1 and the odd-numbered PRGs (i.e., PRG1 331, PRG3 333 and PRG5 335) are assigned to TCI2. Valid PRG0 330 and valid PRG4 334 can be used for the PDSCH transmission in TCI1, valid PRG5 335 can be used for the PDSCH transmission in TCI2, while PRG1 331, PRG2 332 and PRG3 333 are invalid PRGs and cannot be used for the PDSCH transmission.

[0172] Turning back to FIG. 2, in some embodiments, wherein the precoding granularity is a non-wideband granularity. The UE 104 may determine at least one PRG within the allocated resources. Valid PRGs among the at least one PRG are numbered continuously in an increasing order with a first valid PRG index being zero. The first subset of resources associated with the first TCI state may include at least one even-numbered valid PRG among the valid PRGs. The second subset of resources associated with the second TCI state may include at least one odd-numbered valid PRG among the valid PRGs. In some implementations, a PRG in the at least one PRG is a valid PRG if all PRBs in the PRG are valid PRBs. Alternatively, a PRG in the at least one PRG is a valid PRG if at least one PRB among PRBs in the PRG is a valid PRB.

[0173] In some embodiments, when receiving the PDSCH transmission 214, the UE 104 may receive repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 from the base station 102 in the first subset of resources associated with the first TCI state and the second subset of resources associated with the second TCI state. The UE may determine a subset of resources from the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources.

[0174] In some examples, the UE 104 may determine a TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources.

[0175] Alternatively, the UE 104 may determine a TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources if the number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources is non-zero.

[0176] Alternatively, the UE 104 may determine a TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources if an effective cade rate for the other subset of resources among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources is no larger than a threshold.

[0177] Alternatively, the UE 104 may determine a TBS of the repetitions of the PDSCH transmission 214 based on a number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources if the number of PRBs in the determined subset of resources is non-zero and if an effective cade rate for the other subset of resources among the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources is no larger than a threshold.

[0178] FIG. 3E illustrates an example of assigning resources allocated for PDSCH transmission to two TCI states in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. In the example in FIG. 3e, the precoding granularity is 2 or 4 or other non-wideband precoding granularities, and the allocated frequency domain resources 310 is indicated for PDSCH transmission. Thus PRGs 340, 341, 342, 343, 344 and 345 are indicated, in which PRGs 340, 344 and 345 are valid PRGs. The valid PRGs 340, 344 and 345 are numbered continuously in increasing order with the index of the first valid PRG 340 being zero. The even-numbered valid PRGs (i.e., vPRG0 340 and vPRG2 345) are assigned to TCI1 and can be used for the PDSCH transmission in TCI1. The odd-numbered valid PRGs (i.e., vPRG1 344) are assigned to TCI2 and can be used for the PDSCH transmission in TCI2.

[0179] In this way, for the case where some of the indicated PDSCH resources fall outside of the DL usable PRBs, solutions for determining the PRBs associated with each TCI state and solutions for deciding the TBS for each PDSCH transmission occasion associated with each TCI state are designed.

[0180] In a second aspect, when the SBFD scheme is introduced, the configured CFR might be overlapped with UL usable PRBs or be outside of the DL usable PRBs in SBFD symbols / slots. If a MBS PDSCH transmission is scheduled in SBFD symbols / slots, the allocated resources for the MBS PDSCH transmission might be outside the DL usable PRBs. Then, how to transmit the MBS PDSCH transmission should be studied.

[0181] Reference is now made to FIG. 4, which illustrates an example signaling chart of a communication process that supports MBS PDSCH transmission in SBFD symbols in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the process 400 will be described with reference to FIG. 1A. The process 400 may involve the UE 104 and the base station 102. It is to be understood that the steps and the order of the steps in FIG. 4 are merely for illustration, and not for limitation. It is to be understood that process 400 may further include additional blocks not shown and / or omit some shown blocks, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard.

[0182] In the process 400, the base station 102 transmits (402) a configuration 404 of a frequency domain resource range for a MBS PDSCH to the UE 104. At least a portion of the frequency domain resource range is outside of DL usable PRBs. Accordingly, the UE 104 receives (406) the configuration 404 of the frequency domain resource range for the MBS PDSCH from the base station 102. The base station 102 transmits (408) a resource indication 410 for a MBS PDSCH transmission 416 in SBFD symbols to the UE 104. Accordingly, the UE 104 receives (412) the resource indication 410 for the MBS PDSCH transmission 416 in SBFD symbols from the base station 102. The base station 102 transmits (414) the MBS PDSCH transmission 416 to the UE 104 based on the resource indication, the frequency domain resource range and the DL usable PRBs. Accordingly, the UE 104 receives (416) the MBS PDSCH transmission 416 from the base station 102 based on the resource indication, the frequency domain resource range and the DL usable PRBs.

[0183] For example, the UE 104 receives a PDCCH to indicate a frequency domain resource among the frequency domain resource range for a MBS PDSCH transmission in SBFD symbols / slots, the UE 104 then determines how to transmit the MBS PDSCH transmission.

[0184] In some embodiments, the UE 104 may determine an intersection frequency domain resource of the frequency domain resource range and the DL usable PRBs; and determine allocated resources for the MBS PDSCH transmission 416 by interpreting the resource indication based on the intersection frequency domain resource. In other words, the MBS PDSCH transmission should not be outside of the intersection part of the frequency domain resource range and DL usable PRBs / DL subbands. The TBS for the MBS PDSCH transmission may be determined based on the indicated RPBs in the intersection resource. The field may be interpreted according to the intersection of the frequency domain resource range and DL usable PRBs.

[0185] In some embodiments, the resource indication may include a bitmap for a plurality of RBGs for the allocated resources in the intersection frequency domain resource. In other words, the PDCCH may include bitmap is of size NRBG bits, wherein the parameter is the starting PRB of the intersection part,  is the size of intersection frequency resource.

[0186] In some embodiments, the resource indication may include a resource indication value for the allocated resources in the intersection frequency domain resource. In some implementations, the PDCCH may include a RIV corresponding to a starting resource block in reference to the lowest RB of the CFR  and a length LRBs in terms of virtually contiguously allocated resource blocks, K is the maximum value from set {1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12} which satisfies otherwise K = 1. NCFR is intersection resource. Alternatively, the PDCCH may include a RIV indicating starting virtual resource block (RBstart) and a length in terms of contiguously allocated resource blocks (LRBs) , wherein the parameter is the starting PRB of the intersection part,  is the size of intersection frequency resource.

[0187] With the embodiments of the second aspect, for MBS PDSCH scheduling, the scheduling information should be determined based on the intersection between CFR and DL usable PRBs. The resource utilization may thus be guaranteed.

[0188] FIG. 5 illustrates an example of a device 500 that supports PDSCH transmission in SBFD symbols in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. The device 500 may be an example of a base station 102 or a UE 104 as described herein. The device 500 may support wireless communication with one or more network entities 102, UEs 104, or any combination thereof. The device 500 may include components for bi-directional communications including components for transmitting and receiving communications, such as a processor 502, a memory 504, a transceiver 506, and, optionally, an I / O controller 508. These components may be in electronic communication or otherwise coupled (e.g., operatively, communicatively, functionally, electronically, electrically) via one or more interfaces (e.g., buses) .
