Abstract

A method, network node, and user equipment (UE) for spatial beam selection and reporting for precoder matrix indicator (PMI) in large arrays are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method in a UE includes independently selecting discrete Fourier transform (DFT) vectors for a Type I codebook, each DFT vector being used for at most two spatial layers. The method also includes reporting an indication of the selected DFT vectors in a channel state information, CSI, report.
